SW 14st 7.5lb
CW 13st 7.5 (-1.5)loss (- 1st total)
GW 10st

stats from W9D1 so I’ve lost a stone in 8 weeks. That’s amazing My projected graph has me maybe at 10st by October at this rate. I can’t actually believe it

I haven’t really had many side effects (touch wood) and I’m thinking that I may need a maintenance plan for insulin resistance prevention but that still seems so far away!

Jins · 02/03/2025 09:58

Thanks for all the congratulations (and Pom Pom waving) but I’m not quite there yet. Just 4lb and two shots to go.

The reality of being a shortarse like me is that the difference between 28.2 and ‘normal’ is 14lbs. Two stone puts me comfortably into obese. At 25ish BMI I will still measure obese in terms of body fat and I’ll still look pretty chunky (that’s one up from plump I think) but my GP will be pleased

I’m in this for the long haul. I want to see improvements in all my metrics but BMI feels like a great milestone

DGonMJ · 02/03/2025 10:04

Ok bonus dose done, first time with a syringe - managed to get 0.9ml out. Did not like the syringe needle, 30grade, which had blunted after going into the pen and hurt going into my skin. I didn’t realise the higher the grade the finer the needle - should have gone with 32 or higher.

So I’m now Week 9 Day 1 - titrated up from 3.33mg to 3.75mg.

SW 79.6kg
CW 69.6kg
GW 60-65kg

10kg loss in total, which is unbelievable in 8 weeks. New challenge is to try and wean off daily weighing.

Well done @Jins, incredible, and everyone else on your losses! Sympathise with the sulphur burps and constipation, I really suffered in week 2 of the 5mg, not otherwise, very odd! Hope you a feel better soon.
catching up after being out last night and had a sad moment reading through everyone’s weight loss life stories, I’m the same, tried every diet under the sun over the years and been a yo yo dieter all my life. Got to goal when my son was 2 (13 years ago!!) and became a ww leader for a while but then gave up and ballooned again. I lost enough to get me into the ‘overweight’ bracket and maintained for a few years before covid and furlough and that was it! I wouldn’t say my weight has defined my life, I’ve had lots of fun and adventures but I hated getting my photo taken and we got the sumo game a couple of Christmases ago and the belt didn’t fit me!
so, Mounjaro for me gives me the best opportunity. I don’t feel deprived, I haven’t ever had a sweet tooth, my issue was bread, cheese, crisps and general snacking. I reduced my alcohol intake significantly last year and haven’t had a drink since starting, I actually feel sick at the thought. That’s not to say ill never drink again, I will have something amazing if I fancy but i have never in the past been able to stop at one and I feel I may be able to now.
a close friend of mine told me she can really tell I’ve lost weight and asked what I thought was different this time, I didn’t tell her, just said I’m determined and calorie counting. I don’t want anyone other than dh to know! Happy sunny Sunday, off for a long walk with DH.

Ireolu · 02/03/2025 10:23

My diet hasn't changed much at all really I am just eating much much less of everything. I however have not touched bread since i started.

This is the first time in 10yrs I have lost weight consistently over a number of weeks. I am typically really good for 3-4 weeks then the wheels come off. I know I need to look at my attitude towards eating and really rethink what I am doing overall. I have lost 8kg. Started on 17/01. My knees are not as sore. My ankle pain is better. My last period was lighter and not as brutal. The benefits of losing weight are immeasurable. MJ has been a massive wake up call. I need to sort myself out.

GW: 10.7

After not losing the week before (when I was away with work), lost two pounds this week so I am happy with that. Means that I have lost 11 pounds in six weeks.

Had my second dose of 5mg yesterday. Felt a bit nauseous overnight but it’s clearing now.

discoballv · 02/03/2025 10:50

Daily weigher here, happy to report I have broken through to the next stoke bracket as of this morning. I am officially 10st something!

MananaMananaPenelope · 02/03/2025 11:00

Well done losers. 🏆

I've become a daily weigher, first thing I do when I go into my bathroom in the morning, specs and every other item of clothing off 😅.

Reallyyyyyy · 02/03/2025 11:14

Week 7!
SW 87kg
CW 76.4kg
GW 65KG

So my period was early last month. This month I'm 2 days late! Anyone else's periods messed up. I'm on the copper coil so it won't effect my contraception.

HeavyHeidi · 02/03/2025 12:22

yes many people have said periods are messed up, seems to be a really common side effect. This has of course never been part of any studies, as women don't really exist. (Read Invisible Women if you want to get your blood pressure up).

myladyjane · 02/03/2025 12:49

@Reallyyyyyy mine is now 3 weeks late. I am in peri but up til starting mj was still very regular. So may just be a coincidence but seems a bit odd.

I've had loads and loads of pmt type symptoms- sore boobs, tearful, bloaty but still no actual period. I honestly think if I wasn't 50 with no fallopian tubes I'd be testing around now! In fact my pmt symptoms are worse at the moment than they have been for a few years.

Reallyyyyyy · 02/03/2025 12:58

@myladyjane yes! I have had cramps. I always cramps one week before. Now I am cramping as if I have a period. But nothing. It's very stressful!

MananaMananaPenelope · 02/03/2025 13:38

Everything I did/took yesterday has worked, thank the lord 🙏, although my lower left hand side is sore. Hopefully that will reduce.

I’ve had to buy a suit 😩 even though I didn’t want to buy at this size. I’ve got a big meeting coming up and the last time I went (a few months ago) I felt really underdressed. I was wearing a really structured Cos dress, but literally everyone else was in a suit.

It’s wide legged trousers with a cropped jacket. I’m pleased with the fit of the trousers which is a rare event, all my weight is on my hips and thighs so I’m really happy that an 18 fits well. I’m going for a 16 in the jacket which fits in the shoulders and top half really well, but I can’t fasten the bottom button (top hip). I’ll just wear the bottom half open. I’m hoping that I can just take the outside seam of the trousers in on my weight loss journey until I fit into more of my work wardrobe, but at least I won’t feel as underdressed as I did before.

I’ve only got one suit that fits and I don’t like the fit of the trousers much. I’m telling myself that I need to get over wasting the cash, it isn’t expensive (finery), less than a month’s MJ.

hetty37 · 02/03/2025 13:38

Can you tell me how much each click is on 5mg pen? Maths is not my best subject!

MananaMananaPenelope · 02/03/2025 13:39

Me too re period symptoms and a light period after nothing for 8 months. It has to be MJ doesn’t it.

GrumpyMuleFan · 02/03/2025 13:49

@Ireolu @2025istheyeari Everything you say is the same here. The yo-you, the doing a few weeks and caving in as it felt too hard and the general snacking. This has been such an eye opener about how tough I found dieting and daily life, as I was always thinking about food and either 1) just starting diet 2) clinging onto one 3) berating myself for being overweight. MJ is just a revelation and also such an opportunity.

I've just finished my first TRX routine/ stretch in my new routine. There was a whole load of flexibility test and intro videos. One of them talked about how WLI increase your neuro-plasticticity and how this can help make it much easier to build new habits and routines. That the longer you follow new habits and activities, the stronger the neural pathways become and the easier it becomes. Conversely, the longer you stop doing old activities, the weaker the neural pathway becomes and you will find it easier. I really like the idea of this.

There is a formula, apologies though, I can't remember it! I'm sure someone smarter then me will be able to share. However, as a start I find the below chart really helpful if you've not seen it before.

If you are wanting to know to work out a dose you can use a formula.

The amount of dose you want, divided by strength of pen, times 60. For example 3mg of a 5mg pen is 3 divided by 5 times 60 equals 36 clicks.

Went for brunch this morning. Had a couple of herby spinach pancakes with creamed feta and couldn’t finish half of the second pancake. Beautiful day out so went for a walk after to get some steps in .

myladyjane · 02/03/2025 15:42

@MananaMananaPenelope what a relief!

The suit sounds lovely and the fit sounds good. I reckon you'll be fine to take it in in due course and you deserve to feel good in what you on. I hate feeling underdressed at work.

I know what you mean re not wanting to have to buy new stuff quite yet though. I had to get a couple of pairs of weekend/wfh very casual trousers as all my ones had holes in and a spring weight jacket as I literally have nothing between big puffer type and nothing. I was only prepared to pay H&M/supermarket prices though.

Jins · 02/03/2025 16:25

I’m all for wearing clothes that fit and make you feel good. Most of my current wardrobe is very forgiving in that respect so unless I have an unexpected event I should be able to hang on replacing things for a while. We’ll be heading into the warmer weather soon I hope and my summer ‘uniform’ is very flowy and forgiving. The only problem I’ll face is swimwear and I should be able to alter most of the leisure stuff. The training suits are already a bit too easy to get into. 😆

In NSV terms I’ve lost another half inch off my waist and my watch now won’t tighten any further so I’m going to have to replace the strap.

It seems that there are daily threads at the moment about WLI and tempers run high. It’s lovely to have this little group to hide in 😍

Seaitoverthere · 02/03/2025 16:59

I’m going to need some new clothes soon but also trying to hold off until the weather is a bit warmer. My waist is being a bit stubborn about reducing but if Renpho are to be believed my visceral fat is so will take that as a win.

Agree about lovely to hide away here. I am reading some of the other threads and they have confirmed that my policy about being selective about who I tell is the way forward for me.

If I hadn’t of moved areas then I think people would have assumed that I have done it by diet and exercise as before but people here didn’t see me do that. I’m just saying that now I have had my op and can exercise that the weight is coming off again and that I still have a long way to go to be where I was before. Some people are always a bit weird about weight loss, however you do it in my experience.

Reallyyyyyy · 02/03/2025 17:17

Im getting a few bits of vinted instead of commiting to a new wardrobe for now

Thelittlestranger · 02/03/2025 17:21

Also watching the other threads and remaining quiet...

So, thank you for all the formulas. I got the 5th dose out of my 5mg pen which was 50 clicks worth, so I wanted the equivalent of another 5 clicks and used a syringe to get 0.06 out. Hoping that gets me to 55 clicks/4.6mg which is what I was on last week and it worked lovely.

Have been reading all of your posts. Last night I went for a date night with my husband and drank about 6 flutes of prosecco (for some reason this is the only alcohol I fancy right now) Had no dinner (as wasn't hungry) came home and ate some toast to try and avoid being starving and woke up this morning feeling pretty jaded. Very boring. But - I haven't wanted to reach for the crisps, pizza etc. So that's a win. Didn't exercise this weekend though. Damn.

Have STS this week with my WI. Having consecutively lost every week for the past few weeks I'm good. Total of 19lbs in 9 weeks 👍 Also a shortie, so it's starting to show...🎉

Shotsy graph for anyone interested...

MananaMananaPenelope · 02/03/2025 17:27

Are you @Reallyyyyyy , one of my DC likes Vinted, I'm a bit hesitant to buy without the ability to return/try on.

The supermarkets with a big clothing range are 20 miles away from me @myladyjane and I rarely make the time to go there. I've got a ponte dress from Sainsburys that I absolutely love.

There's a lovely suit at Autograph that I would like, but not until I'm nearer 13st, it will probably have sold out by then lol.😂

Reallyyyyyy · 02/03/2025 17:42

@MananaMananaPenelope yes I have ordered a few dresses and a coat. If it ends up being a bad experience I have spent roughly thr same as one or 2 brand new dress in marks and spencers .

I shall let you know!
