I finally hit my 3 stone weight loss this morning!! I'm in week 20. I'm so excited!

HappyNewt · 28/02/2025 09:04

? which syringes & needles do people use if they aren't using the ones supplied?

I have seen comments in the past about some not being suitable, but cant find the posts now.

I am on jab 3 of my 10mg pen and it won't give the dose - the pen has stopped depressing part way through. I have changed the supplied needle, to check if that is the problem, and I have also contacted IQ Doctor - but I am thinking that the easiest solution may be to order some needles.
Thanks

I bought mine from Amazon - I basically looked for 1ml volume (so I could read the scales accurately - 0.6 is a full dose so you need more that 0.5ml volume), and 0.8mm needle (shortest I could find as I’m a scaredy cat). This was before the chat about human grade needles, so I don’t want to name mine, although I’ve found them to do the job. I’m not sure if mine are medically recommended.

Fabulous!!! Well done 🤩

lapuf · 28/02/2025 14:21

Yes same as lickycat, they don't call them syringes or injections now when I click on the purchase I made back in November! I've also found them fine so will carry on as only 3-5 to use depending on titration down

Thanks, I ordered some, as I haven't heard back yet from IQ Doctor and it seemed the only way to get hold of an alternative way of dosing by tomorrow...

SW: 14st 13.2
CW: 13st 8.4
loss this week: 2lb
total loss: 1st 4.8

Moving up to the 10mg today. I’m thrilled to see the scales going downward again consistently (although still slowly) after the blip in Jan.

Happy weekend everyone. Gorgeous sunny day here!

letshavetea · 01/03/2025 09:30

Well, I’ve done a sneaky pre weigh day (Monday) way in and the scales have finally moved in the right direction. I have lost a stone!! This has taken me five months! Feel delighted and relieved. I definitely couldn’t have done it without Mounjaro. One stone 3 pounds to go to what I think (?) may be my goal.
I’m staying on 5mg until after my holiday (next weekend) as I don’t want side effects when I’m away.

flowerlady2 · 01/03/2025 10:14

@HansHolbein Feeling great thanks! Can’t believe actually just so alive I feel on mounjaro, a real eye opener. I’m just 1lb off my 3stone milestone as of this morning:)

Bluenose1966 · 01/03/2025 10:37

Morning all.
Week 19 weigh in - age 58 and on HRT.

SW 12-2
CW 9- 8
GW 9-7 = 9st 3lb -9st 11lb fluctuation allowing myself for maintenance, though I do want to see the scales actually hit 9st 7lb for psychological reasons I suppose.
Current dose 5mg - will increase /decrease to keep within boundary.

First week of maintenance and put half a pound on. I know I can comfortably go a couple of pounds under or over so not worried and expect maintenance to be a bit of a balancing act. I have increased my calories by approx 100 a day to 1500, must be getting more used to MJ as would have struggled to eat this much a few weeks ago.

Can’t remember who recommended it but thank you for the recommendation of Inulin, it has definitely helped.
Also thanks to @YummyCookie I love the barbells marshmallow protein bars, definitely my new favourite.

Congrats on your 3 stone @Carridoesntlivehereanymore and nearly 3 stone loss @flowerlady2.
And congrats on your 1 stone loss @letshavetea nearly 50% of the way there.

Was listening to a podcast this week where they were discussing why some people say taking MJ / Ozempic etc cheating. We are in a nice bubble of supportive people on here but you only have to look at the comments on social media to see criticism.
Their theory was for those who call MJ users cheats, they must feel we are in a Competition with them as otherwise whowould we be cheating? They don’t like us getting what they perceive as an unfair advantage. We have upset the natural order of things where they can have moral superiority of our inability to lose weight.

I have lost some skin tags which I think is due to the reduction in sugar intake. My only gripe is my wrinkly backside and crepe like upper arms, worth it though for the weight loss. Continuing to weight train so hoping that will help but not sure as just seems to be loose skin from my previously very plump derrière.

UtterlyQuackers · 01/03/2025 13:54

@littleburn great call on Medicine market place.

Delivered this morning!

recklessgran · 02/03/2025 08:13

Morning all it's weigh and jab day for me.
Last week I jabbed 3.75mgs stepping up from 3.5mgs and I'm happy to report minimal side effects and a loss this week of 1.5lbs.which I'm happy with given that on reflection I've had a couple of carby dinners this week - a bowl of chicken and pepper orzo one night and cottage pie another and to top it off sticky toffee pudding on a meal out - I had steak and salad for main course so don't know why I derailed myself with a dessert. Oh well.. Might not seem bad to you guys but for me I struggle to lose if I eat more than 50gms of carbs a day. [I blame my underactive thyroid for this weird anomaly!]
Anyway, I digress.
Start weight 15st 7lbs
CW 14st 3llbs
I'm sticking with 3.75mgs for the next two weeks as it's my birthday next Saturday with a big family meal out and we'll be off to Gran Canaria on Sunday for a weeks AI. I don't want to risk side effects spoiling either of those events so will stick until we get back when I'll consider going up to the heady heights of 4mgs!
@letshavetea I'm so happy for you getting your stone at last! Hope you have a great holiday too. There seem to be lots of you reaching your goal lately - so happy for you all and know I'll get there too one day!
Have a great Sunday all. 4 weeks until clock change day - can't wait for that - it always seems to cheer everyone up.

igivein · 02/03/2025 08:55

Morning

Weigh-in day here

SW 20st 2lb
CW 15st 10lb

Loss this week: 2lb 😊

Another 1lb will take me to 4.5 stone loss, hopefully that will be next week 🤞

femininomenon · 02/03/2025 12:38

Week 20 weigh in and a 1lb loss here, still been getting really good suppression from 10mg but I've had 3 meals out and a couple of evenings of drinking since Thursday so not surprised the 2lb losses haven't continued!

SW: 17st 4
CW: 15st (sooo desperate to see a 14!!)

Will continue taking 10mg from my 12.5mg pen as really happy with this dose still.

@recklessgran I'm glad you managed moving back up with no side effects.

NearlyNewHip · 02/03/2025 14:02

I broke my 2 week stall on Friday and lost 3 lbs! Was my 20th weigh in and I've lost 34 lbs in total, 2 lbs away from dropping to just overweight in the BMI scale.
Have just caught up on the thread after a ridiculously busy February workwise. We are all doing so well!!!
My latest addiction is Vinted, the newsagent at my drop off thinks I'm insane. But I've had wonderful bargains and a whole new size 16 work wardrobe (including shoes, I seem to have lost a half size...) for about £200.

Great way to end a stall! I've not had to buy too much yet as being a 20/22 to start with it's slow to drop sizes and most of my clothes now just hang how they were probably designed to Blush. I have had some fab bargains on Vinted in the past though so it will be my go to once I am needing to start buying smaller sizes.

KolaKoalaKan · 02/03/2025 16:37

Helloooo everyone!

I'd fallen so far behind with the threads... I've just spent ages catching up before posting. I'm so impressed we have some Goal Achievers! Wow! I'm not quite half way to goal so seeing people reach that point is super inspiring.

This morning was jab 22 for me. 3st 9lb down. As I say, not yet half way. But feeling good for the loss. I was redecorating our lounge a few weeks ago and was physically managing ok. I kept thinking, a few months ago I would have been carrying around the equivalent of an average six year old while doing this! I've had some fab NSVs - my rings can now be removed! I can pop upstairs without hating it. I now weigh less than my husband 😁

My current issue is skin... I have EDS so very hypermobile. And I think I'm menopausal. But eek, at not halfway I don't like the look of the skin situ. Tum I can hide. But upper arms 😭 And it also seems to have become very dry and fragile. Anyone else having this issue? I'm taking collagen and moisturising a lot. Any other ideas?

icantgetnosheep1 · 02/03/2025 17:15

Hello all, hope your having a great weekend.
Just had a thought.. probably as the sun is making an appearance 😆 we are all going to be much slimmer for summer this year!! I've spent quite a few years now hiding away as I have felt so bloody awful and nothing fitted. I'm really looking forward to this summer and feeling more confident in myself. This really has been a game changer for us all hasn't it.

Well then .. week 18 complete!

SW: 11.13
CW: 8.11 (1lb off)
GW: 8.10 (ish)

sticking with 7.5mg limping to the finish line!! I met a friend Friday night for a nibble and drinks and she was so shocked - hadn't seen her since before Christmas so I get that. Nothing fits me so I need to change my mindset that I'm not in a 14 or 12 anymore 🫣 but too frightened to try on a size 10.

Still having crazy dreams .. proper nuts sometimes but I kind of like it as I've previously had ptsd and awful dreams due to my wonderful stbxh affair discovery and they've vanished, these dreams are far more entertaining!

Appt Sunday all xx

recklessgran · 02/03/2025 18:23

@femininomenon your post made me grin and really resonates with me. I''ve [very slowly!] lost 18lbs so far but apart from now fitting into my size 16 swimwear [down from 18] I'm definitely not ready to drop a dress size. My size 16/18 clothes all look much better now and as you say very probably how they should have looked to start with!

EVK · 02/03/2025 19:02

Well done everyone, what incredible losses this week- glad inulin is working @Bluenose1966

Ive had a STS week, which is ok but hopefully next week I will see the elusive 8.13! Im
still 5mgs which I find still gives me
suppression so im loathed to go up a dose. I’ve already ordered another 5mg anyway. Hopefully next week I’ll see progress! I was hoping to be coming off soon but might be a bit longer getting to goal! Well done @icantgetnosheep1 🙌🏻

EVK · 02/03/2025 19:28

@igivein over 4 stone -
amazing 🙌🏻 @KolaKoalaKan brilliant NSV’s and fantastic weight loss. @NearlyNewHip I hope I can have a whoosh like you soon 🩷🙌🏻
