@Letshavetea1 I have bought six pairs of Boden straight leg size 10 jeans and trousers on Vinted, I have to pre-empt my mother stealing my clothes so it’s only three for me! She hates shopping and likes my style, is slimmer and smaller than me but still wears a 10 as her preference

Letshavetea1 · 18/06/2025 07:35

@HansHolbein sorry, forgot to reply to you! Regarding staying on MJ - I’ve already decided that due to early menopause and hypothyroidism I need to stay on it. Feel better generally on MJ and daren’t risk hormonal imbalance and weight gain again! Even more convinced as weight loss is so slow now. My bmi (for what it’s worth) is 25.5 and I’ve only lost a pound and a half this month. That’s on 7.5 mg. Suppression is good, so I won’t be going up yet (if at all). Four pounds to go to first target (bmi 25). Then I think I’ll do another half stone.
@lapuf- that makes me laugh that you’re doing your mum’s shopping! I had a Boden dress delivered yesterday - size 12 and only £8! It’s fab. I can’t see me getting down to a size ten tbh.

HansHolbein · 19/06/2025 09:31

@Carridoesntlivehereanymore In the 10’s! Well bloody done you! I know, I just cannot believe it. After 20 years of misery I didn’t believe this would work either. But here we are! Living our lives totally free! Really happy for you.

@hopeishere Amazing! I am not very sociable so haven’t really opened myself up to many opportunities for awkward conversations yet but I have told certain people if they have asked, especially if they are overweight. For nosey people, I’ve said I’ve been eating less.

@Letshavetea1 I loveeee Vinted! I started using it after Marks&S stopped doing online orders. I’m really into it now! Don’t blame you, I think a lot of us will be on it long term. Myself included!

@Missreginafalange Super! Not long for you now. Just knowing it’s actually possible now is such a relief. Clothes are so fun now!

@Mysticmaiden Lovely update from you! Also not long for you now! Oushk plan sounds good 🫡

@EVK Thanks so much! Now you’re back on it, it will come off again in no time. Are you thinking you might need a low dose long term?

Well, it’s rather warm isn’t it? I badly need to do some house chores so I’m going to get on with that now once the washing machine has finished. I’ve finally worked out how to turn off that bastard noise when the cycle ends. I have oven noise, fridge noise, tumble dryer noise… FUCK OFF! Sounds like Christmas carols in here sometimes.

I have a call with the GP later. I wanted to update them on my health. A positive appointment for once! I want to tell them how Mounjaro has changed my life, my PCOS has pretty much disappeared and my anxiety that I was really really really suffering with back in October has gone. They need to know how amazing this drug is.

I’m 8st 12lb this morning, BMI 20.6. I’ve decided my final goal is 8st 7lbs BMI 19.8, so 5lbs to go. My husband doesn’t seem to be overjoyed with that but I’ve promised him that’s the final goal. As an apple shape, my waist is still a bit bigger than it should be, so I really want to get that down a bit.

Right, chores await! Love to all x

Hello all from my cruise on the cold Norwegian Fjords, have enjoyed reading all your updates.
Not looking forward to getting on the scales on Sunday as have eaten far more than normal plus two pina coladas a night. I haven't gone mad on the dessert front and been ship gym a few times which is a small blessing at least.
Hope your call with Dr goes well @HansHolbein . Made me laugh your Christmas Carol chiming kitchen. So glad your PCOS has improved. My stomach is still too big, I am going to eat more fibre as read that can help. My DIL has PCOS and currently going through IVF which has been really difficult for her. She said if she had known sooner re MJ she would have gone on that first.

Fizzleawayyy1 · 19/06/2025 15:51

@Bluenose1966 I hope you are having a lovely time on your cruise.

Hope everyone is enjoying the weather, once my daughter gets home I am taking them out for an ice cream by the lake.

Might even take some frozen peas for the ducks (as apparently bread isn't allowed anymore!)

Fizzleawayyy1 · 20/06/2025 12:26

How's every ones weeks been with the heat? everyone on track still?

The hot weather generally kills my appetite anyway, as I dont like the heat, but the suppression is very hit and miss on 15mg. Yesterday I was quite snackish, so am trying to control myself over the weekend.

I was also snacky yesterday, I'm pretty sure its due to the TOM coming soon. I get it every month, The jab helps but doesn't completely remove me wanting to snack at this part in my cycle. Today I'm not as bad, all iv had is Greek yogurt for breakfast and a Tunnocks tea cake for a snack.

HansHolbein · 20/06/2025 13:00

@Bluenose1966 Oooooo a cruise! I’ve never been on a cruise but my husband would love to go. Probably when the children have left home… is it amazing? Is it like an all inclusive but on a boat? Do you get off? Do you get dressed up every night? So many questions! Hope you’re having a wonderful time.

Thank you so much. Dr’s appointment went very well and they are happy. I’m sure they don’t often get positive calls!

I really feel for your DIL. We had an awful time trying to conceive our second child. Soul destroying. In the end we just gave up… then it happened.

@Fizzleawayyy1 How was the ice cream by the lake? It really was a warm one yesterday, not so bad today? Not sure where everyone else is but we are in the Home Counties and it was stifling yesterday. Of course, better now I’m 7 and a bit stone down! I’ve always disliked the heat. It makes me feel so saggy and lazy. I also do not tan. I go red then back to white again. Sometimes I try and do some self tanning but I smell like digestive biscuits so I’ve all but given up on that now. Mmm love Greek yogurt 😋

@DeltaAlphaDelta79 I also find 15mg a bit hit and miss. Some days I really struggle to eat and then the next day it’s all back to normal. Weird.

After I’ve finished work I’m going away on my own for the weekend. Got some nice fish and salad to eat for the weekend (should have bought some Greek yogurt!) and I will do lots of walking. Looks like it will be a hot one tomorrow!

No heat wave here in Edinburgh. I have a jumper on in my house though it is a very nice 22 degrees in the garden and I went for a swim at lunchtime.

No excuse for me to hit the ice cream alas!

xx

lapuf · 20/06/2025 20:27

Hi all Smile
mid heatwave here and not a lot to report, a smidge under 9st and my size 10 shorts feel a bit baggy but can’t be arsed buying 8s Hmm
my 12s have all gone to my BFF who’s a few months behind me and now I’ve roped one of my school mum mates in too. I’m not able to buy pens any more so did some med express code matchmaking Halo

icantgetnosheep1 · 20/06/2025 21:38

Cooking here at the seaside.. I’ve found another huge batch of clothes all size 8 and fit perfectly 😆 I’ve built a body to be proud of aged 53 and menopausal.. I look frigging great. Tan is coming on nicely to. I have a work summer off-site coming up soon all activity based and ready for it. Wow we really are smashing it 💪

EVK · 21/06/2025 07:22

@icantgetnosheep1 how wonderful - it’s so great to hear you’re feeling great and looking fab. @HansHolbein a weekend away on your own - sounds like bliss and walking too - a girl after my own heart - where are you walking ? Enjoy. Longest day and weekend ahead - I love this time of year and like @icantgetnosheep1 can enjoy this summer in a body I’m happy in! @AnneinEdinburgh bif up the lunchtime swim too 🙌 @Bluenose1966 don’t worry about the extra food - enjoy your holiday 💕 I’m 8.8lbs today and I’m feeling more hopeful that I can get back to 8.6-8.7lbs which is where I’d like to be. I’m feeling less need to pick and more able to manage portions. Anyone else stretching out their pen. I went 10 days this week before jab and if I continue like that then pen will last longer than 30days - 40 days instead. Im keeping in fridge and being very careful with cleanliness but I am aware theirs a risk of contamination and infection with perishing rubber seal? I’m very tempted though.

Happy weekend everyone.

Taxiparent · 21/06/2025 08:53

1lb on for me this week, but that was 3lbs at the beginning of the week, so it’s not too bad. A weekend off did the damage, however, onwards and downwards, clothes are fitting better and I can confidently by a 12 and know it will fit comfortably. 7 weeks to holiday and 6lbs to lose, will be interesting to see what my body does from here! @EVK, I stretched to 8 days last week as I was away and noticed the difference, I really wanted to eat on Thursday and Friday, so not sure what’s going to work for me in the long run, hopefully that was just a blip.

Carridoesntlivehereanymore · 21/06/2025 10:21

Well, that was embarrassing - just had my weight consultation with Oushk, or not. I couldn't get the camera working on my phone. I had no idea it wasn't set up to work until 10 minutes before the call when I was getting lined up for the consultation. No idea how to turn it on under pressure. There was a camera icon on the screen with a line through it that you would expect to tap on but it was greyed out. I felt a right bloody idiot. She was very nice about it and has had to reschedule the call. I hate bloody technology

fourquenelles · 21/06/2025 12:06

Hello again lovely people and great to read so many updates. @HansHolbein you rock!
I am still plodding on. A pound down again this week on 7.5mg. I am going up to 10 for my next pen I have decided. I am also doing battle with Boots advantage card over no points being added to my account since I started back in October and have spent around £1800 with them since then. Grrrr.
I am that 1 lb off my 4 stone loss since October and frustratingly I was there mid week but have "gone up" again on weigh day. Sigh.
I am so much more active not carrying those 2 x 12kgs bags of dog kibble around with me all the time!
Keep cool, hydrate and remember a loss is a loss; 1lb a week is over 50 lbs in year. I will get there, although where there is is a moveable (tiny) feast atm.

Check your permission settings under settings app under phone and camera. Mine worked but I did check my settings when I was waiting 20 mons before call! I did find the volume low even at max and it was hard to hear what she said.

Mysticmaiden · 21/06/2025 20:40

@HansHolbein @EVK @lapuf and everyone else who I've missed.. look at you all doing great on your size 8-10 clothes! Wonderful to hear. Did you struggle with losing towards the end after reaching bmi 25 or were you losing similar rate to before.
@Letshavetea1 I'm bmi 25.5 and 4lbs left to normal bmi just like you. I'm 5ft 3.
How many are staying on a dose long term?
I started taking L tyrosine 3 weeks ago and it's resolved my dopamine disruption of feeling low and no joy or enthusiasm. I'm back to feeling happy and smiling and being out and about. Feels good to get back to the old me!

TheChosenTwo · 21/06/2025 23:04

@EVK i just jab every 7 days but have done a day early or late before when going on holiday, sometimes I’ll bring my jab forwards or backwards by a day if I know I’ll be away for a few days when I should be jabbing but don’t want to take it with me. But pretty much every 7 days.
I worry though about people stretching them out because I think some providers will stop if you leave it longer than a month between orders and if your BMI is under 30 you might find it hard getting started with it again. And probably from the lowest dose. I don’t have any basis of this concern, probably just picked it up from something on these threads. I guess it’s okay if you’re planning on coming off it at some point or if you’ve got a load of pens in the fridge already but I just reorder as soon as I’ve taken the 4th dose of the pen.

anyway, I maintained this week, happy with that. 11 stone down from 16 will never not feel like a dream. Size 18 to a 10/12, nothing short of miraculous.

HansHolbein · 21/06/2025 23:07

Will get back to you all… I’m fucking BOILING

@icantgetnosheep1 You deserve every minute of it! I bet you look AMAZING!

@EVK Well, the walking didn't go to plan. It was 32 bloody degrees. Just far too hot. I ended up coming home last night. It was like a sauna so came back home. Our house is very old so nice and cool. Good decision in the end. Talking of extending the pen, I've bought some insulin syringes and will try the remaining liquid this month. I practised on an old pen and it was fine.

@Taxiparent Never mind, it all works out in the end. I'm sure you'll meet your goal by your holiday. Where are you going? Exciting!

@Carridoesntlivehereanymore Oh Lord, that's the sort of thing that would happen to me too! When is the next call?

@fourquenelles Thank you! You're doing great. You are so right, everything is so much easier. Did you find the heat a tad more bearable this year? I think I would have died being 7st heavier yesterday...

@Mysticmaiden Nice to hear from you! So glad that med is making you feel better. To be honest, no, I didn't really slow down for me when I hit BMI 25. Mine has been pretty consistent. I would say this last stone has been slow though, but that is to be expected. I don't eat any 'shit' at all. Just meat, fish, vegetables, and fruit. I'm not interested in anything else so that has really helped me.

@TheChosenTwo Smashing that you're still maintaining. Totally agree, it's like a dream. Sometimes I think this is just temporary. I'm yet to feel comfortable that this is my new life.

I'll copy and paste this on to the new thread actually, seen as we only have a few spaces left here... see you on the new thread!

So good to hear everyone is doing so well and is feeling so positive.

I had a few wins this weekend. I wore a bikini out in public and felt good in it! And I was in thr background of someone photo at a party and didn't realise it until I saw the photo, and didn't recognise myself at first. First time in years I've been caught unknowingly in a photo and not hated it 🙌 Also tired on some old clothes that were too small that I was intending to sell... only to find they now fit 😄 It's been a good weekend!

Got my maintainance consultation next week though do want to lose another stone really.

@HansHolbein re using the golden dose... I need to do that this month as I've messed up my timings for the delivery of my next pen and won't get it in time. Is the insulin syringe method easy?

EVK · 23/06/2025 06:42

@surreygirl1987 using the insulin needle for golden dose is absolutely fine - it’s the idea of it that’s the barrier but honestly I’m sure you’ll be fine.

Its super easy. Iv been doing it since pen 1. Just pull the dose out with the insulin needle and stab yourself with that instead of the pen.

Mysticmaiden · 23/06/2025 21:04

@surreygirl1987 agree with everything said so far..and it hurts much less than the standard 4mm needle strangely! I use a 12mm syringe and go halfway in.
