@lickycat - the pleasure receptor addiction thing is interesting- I no longer crave crisps, biscuits or cake and don’t think about alcohol but have continued to really enjoy dark chocolate and coffee throughout MJ journey. However, I definitely found my enjoyment of food increased considerably when I stopped taking MJ. So, I totally see where you’re coming from. Also I’m sure that I read people who suffering from depression have to be very careful with MJ because of the issues you’ve raised as their feeling of low mood can increase. It definitely has an effect on how the brain responds to external stimuli!!

I never when to the gym when on mounjaro (felt too tired) but when I stopped I did go back, 4 or 5 mornings a week. I told myself the weight gain was muscle not fat, but my scales said I gained 2lb of each in the first two weeks, so I stopped the gym and pretty much spiralled from there.! I was also eating pretty well, sticking to 1500 calories the first two weeks so I was very disheartened to have gained 4lb. Stopped the gym and monitoring calories and gained another 6 lbs in 2 weeks. I go on holiday on Monday for ten days so I’m hoping the pen arrives before I go. The tracking still says ‘sender has said they dispatched’ so I’m not feeling very hopeful!

Morning all, hope everyone well.
Unlike some of you I still enjoy taste of chocolate and crisps etc, think eating 120g protein a day stops me from splurging but I have some each week within my calories.

Have now reverse dieted up to 2,100 calories per day without much variance in weight, going to try to increase to 2,500 eventually. The theory is by eating more, it will increase my strength/ muscles when doing weight training so that my metabolism burns more calories naturally. Plus bigger muscles actually make us look slimmer. I do weight training twice per week for an hour a session, so don’t even have to do that much.

@MissMarvelMum I think your experience is indicative of what a lot of the studies say re weight gain after coming off MJ. Think it is 85% of people who regain the weight within a year or so. I do think for those who want to come off make sure you have a way of going back on if required as despite best intentions it may not be possible to keep the weight off.
i think for me my metabolism is that buggered from years of different diets and calorie restriction that I will have to be on some type of dose for life. However I am hoping to lower my dose even more eventually.

Week 15 of maintenance
SW 12st 2lb
GW 9st 7lb (happy with 9st 2lb - 9st 7lb)
CW 9st 3.7lb.
Current dose 3mg every 8 days.

@Bluenose1966 that’s really useful information thank you. I need to get back to the gym and look into the reverse dieting. 3mg is probably enough to keep the food noise at bay and stop appetite from going into overdrive! I do now think I will need to take more time developing a maintenance programme than I initially imagined !! I’m thinking of staying on 2.5 mg if I can for a while - during which time I’m going to have to build more muscle and increase calories slowly - How long do you keep a pen for? Also - did you follow anything specific for the reverse dieting ? I maybe need to figure out how many calories I’m eating although I find it so hard when it’s home made to figure it out !! Do you guesstimate?!

@EVK thank you, all better now. How’s it going back on the 2.5? After feeling how my interest in food has come back I’ve ordered myself one to keep in the fridge just in case.
@Bluenose1966 glad the reverse dieting has been going well, I’ve just started building my calories back up so hoping I’ll be able to manage the same.

Not much to report for me. Intermittent fasting has been going well, daily weighing still, weights and have added in swimming for cardio.

Weigh day for me, 1lb off which surprised me as I went on a hen weekend last weekend from fri-mon!

I have cleared my life and have no plans for meals out for 4 weeks after tomorrow! Would love to get half a stone off in that time!

OHH AND FINALLY PEOPLE ARE NOTICING IV LOST WEIGHT!! Literally nothing and then all of a sudden 3 people this week have said it!

@Mincepieinthesky I weigh every day too and I cant see myself stopping, when I dont weigh in the morning I feel like I'm going off track!

If I dont weigh I do feel a bit out of control! probably not healthy really but it helps me.

Sunday weigh-in and only a pound off this week - but better than nothing, and at least I made it into the 13s.
I was hoping for more this week, the weather's been warmer and I've been on a salad fest with barely a carb and no UPFs in sight.
Today's going to be a bit of a loss, it being Father's Day DH has decided he wants Nigella's fish finger bhorti for tea and DS has bought him some chocolate chip shortbread...

A 3 pounds increase on last week, which is a little disappointing as there is no real reason for it. Suppression has been a bit rubbish this week (it seems to be very inconsistent on 15) but eating has been generally sensible, with a couple of blips and I was hoping/expecting for at least staying the same.

No other side effects either, which I suppose is a silver lining 🤣 but I am around 1 - 1.5 stone away from where I want to be, so its definitely a little annoying that it seems to have slowed down.

I have 3 shots left of my current pen, and another 15 in the fridge. I will probably get one more and then hopefully I should be near enough where I want to be so will then need to make my decision about whether to carry on, taper off or go cold turkey 😬

I’ve reached 11stone so nearly 4 strone off. I’ve stayed on 5mg the whole time. People are commenting a lot now. I think I’ve suddenly tipped into looking thinner!! I’m a secret jabber but can tell loads are desperate to ask if I’m on them. I’m trying to work out now how to maintain.

@TheChosenTwo I frequent the r/PCOS sub on reddit and a lot of them have found it life changing too. Some of them are finding out they are pregnant after years of trying. I'm overjoyed to the point of tears for us all. In time I am sure it will be approved for PCOS. I'm glad you're at a weight you're happy with.

@lapuf Thank you so much. Totally agree about the leeway. I might lose a few extra lbs to give me some buffer!

@Letshavetea1 Thank you! Yes, I will be on it long term. All the fuckery that is PCOS will come flooding back when I stop. Maybe once I have maintained for a year or I could consider it?!

@EVK Thank you very much. Positive spin on this is that you've recognised it and you can change the way this is going to go. Getting back on the 2.5 is a good idea I think. Gosh I love nuts too!

@Fizzleawayyy1 Thank you Fizz. Feel for you, it's been really hard for you because of how busy you are with social stuff. What mg are you on now? Red satin dress sounds DIVINE! Let us know what it's like when it arrives! So glad people are starting to notice all your hard work.

@lickycat Thank you so much. How are you finding 15mg? I can relate to your feelings about enjoyment. I have never been a big drinker but I really enjoyed mealtimes with my family. We've always eaten together in the evenings and now I feel a bit meh about it because of the food. I am disinterested in food. Definitely kills the vibe a bit.

@DeltaAlphaDelta79 Annoying, especially when there isn't a reason for it. Ugh! Agree with inconsistency with 15mg - it varies for me too. Sometimes I inject on day 6 if it isn't sorting itself out, which seems to help. No side effects is great though, happy for you.

@hopeishere Lovely update from you. Glad everything is going well and people are starting to notice! I don't tell everyone that asks, really depends on who they are.

I finally hit 9st/57kg today! That's a loss of 7st 2.7lb/45.6KG/100.7lbs. BMI gone from 37.7 to 21. I'm 5'5.

Can't quite believe it really. I am having lots of fun with clothes! Genuinely didn't think it was possible back in October... I just didn't think this would 'work'. Big up Big Pharma!

However, I am going to move the goal posts lol. My new goal is 8st 12lb. Like I said before, I'm an apple shape. There's still some fat on my stomach that I want gone (could be skin?!) so we'll see how it looks in 2lbs time.

Looks like it's going to be fucking boiling this week so I am very relieved that this summer I won't be dragging an extra person around!

Monday morning weigh in and I'm 2¾lbs down this week, which is 10st 13¾lbs!! I'm bloody thrilled to weigh less than 11 stone!! Ok, I appreciate it's not much less but there's a 10 as the first figure so I am taking that ¼lb and owning it!!!

I'm over 4½ stone down on mj, nearly 5 stone including the painful 6lb loss from the couple of months before I started. We've all done so incredibly well. Would you ever have believed this could really happen back in October??

@lapuf that's the one exception to when I dont weigh.... I went out for fathers day yesterday and it was a BBQ place. Now I didn't even eat that much in terms of volume but I felt soo so SOOO full all night and didn't eat anything else after except a pack of rolos on the evening with a cup of tea.
I know that no matter what I will up UP today on the scales, so I dont weigh today to give my body a chance to get rid of the fake 1-2LBS il gain and I carry weigh as normal tomorrow (all while having a extra low calorie day today to counteract it)

@Taxiparent I wore jeans this weekend for the first time in possibly 3 years!! (Basically since I put the weight on).. I have about 20 pairs stacked under my bed and I was brave and tried a pair of size 12s on and they fit fine! I think in my head I'm fatter then what I actually am still as I didn't think they would fit.

@HansHolbein Im on 10mg now, just took my 4th dose this week and I think its working fine so will be staying on it until it stops working. I dont really want to go any higher then 10mg but may go up to 12.5mg

Well done, I would imagine most people would think you are on it even if you dont say it.
Anyone that has lost lots of weight since Xmas (or since mid last year) I presume is taking the jab but just dont want to say.
Specially if they have been bigger their whole life.

I'll be honest, I have told pretty much anyone who has mentioned it, even people who have just spoken about diets in general with, who I have only met once.

The weight loss will be noticeable and people know I lost on slimming world before, but this time round it has been so much quicker that it was hard to explain it any other way. Slimming world is generally better thought of among my friends and family, but it definitely has its issues and gets a very broad spectrum of love/hate on here.

I have just owned it, my friends and relatives know I am a big eater, and often eat when bored, emotional etc. I have had a couple of negative comments, but fuck em, I really don't care. My blood pressure was dangerously high and this has now reduced to a healthier range. My obesity was going to cause long term health issues, and to be honest, Mounjaro has been so life changing for me that I am happy to spread the word.

People will always have something to say about whatever method you use to lose weight, so I just went with it. But then I am generally quite thick skinned anyway, and appreciate that some people don't feel the same way I do.

I dreamed I'd get back to my wedding day weight of 9 stone 4lbs. Maybe if this was happening when I was 15/20 years younger I might have been able to go for it but I'm beginning to notice crepey skin and I don't think I can go anywhere near that low and still look ok. So I'm now thinking of maintaining at 10st 7lbs, ± 3lbs. That keeps me at 10st 10lbs tops, which is where a healthy bmi kicks in for me. I'd also like to be comfortably in the middle of size ranges so size 12 and 36b bra, not size 13 and a 37b½ sort of thing. That's my current thought.

I am trying to do dips and squats etc, aquafit and swimming, an arm routine, even started trying a plank (might have some way to go on that one...) and I quite fancy barré classes so I hope a gradual build up of a bit of muscle will help too.

Hi! Nice to read all the positive updates. I’m feeling good even though I’ve sts this week. I’m absolutely loving going into shops and trying on size 12’s which fit!!! I’m also seriously addicted to vinted. Such bargains! Anything that doesn’t fit I give to my daughter to sell. Seriously, for any of you who aren’t on there please consider it. I recommend uploading lots of expensive makes to
your personalisation of brands. Do I sound addicted?!

my current stats are:

SW 16 stone (15.6 started on MJ)
CW 11.8
GW 11.0

I have 8 pounds to go to reach my goal weight and will bring me to 70 pounds lost in total, have a call scheduled in mid- July with Oushk to discuss maintenance options. The best thing in losing weight is not so much what the scales say but the NSV like the clothes I can get in to now and also buy that I would never have bought before and just looked at wistfully!

I had my maintenance appointment with oushk today going on conti plan with 15mg for now then possibly drop another half a stone as a buffer if I decide when I get to 10st.
Being prediabetic pre Mounjaro, I don't know if it's best to stay on a low dose for a while after tapering down to 10mg maybe. Currently on 12.5mg.

done everyone else - the STS’s and 1 lbs losers - it all adds up. I think I’ve sts this week although it looks like I’ve put a 1lb on. I think it’s because my bowls have slowed down again; my MJ movements aren’t as good 🤣 hopefully once I’ve motioned I’ll be ok!! So I’m 8:10!! Today rather than 8.8lbs Which means over all gain from my lowest (8.6lbs) is 4lbs in about 5-6weeks. Glad I’m back on 2.5mg although I do feel a bit defeated 😔 Hopefully I’ll shift these extra lbs over next few weeks. Gotta get back in the game !! I know it’s only a few pounds but it feels really significant.

Morning @EVK what’s your goal weight? I’ve decided on 9st (which I am) but +/-2lbs. I could go lower but think this weight suits me at 5’3”/46/small build pear shape. I got down to 8.10 in 2019 but only for a week Grin
