@igivein that’s fantastic, well done - those milestones are such a boost to the confidence!

I weighed in yesterday and lost 5lbs, didn’t jab while on holiday for 10 days, hadn’t weighed for 2 weeks and put on 2.5lbs so the 5lbs off was no doubt the holiday bloat! Didn’t feel an increase in appetite though, and wasn’t really eating ‘much’ although definitely bread and chips and things a lot which I tend to not eat much of at home. I’ve got insulin resistant PCOS so I do need to be quite mindful about carb consumption.

SW: 16st
CW: 11st 3lbs
5’7”

So close now to the 5 stone off that I never thought would ever happen to me. I wore a bikini on holiday for the first time in 20 years and no one stared, the world didn’t stop
turning and I just felt so free and fortunate and wonderful.

Not sure what my goal weight is, the last half a stone has taken months, a pound on and pound off sort of thing, I just think I’m probably around where my body is happy. My BMI is finally in a healthy range - I feel like a winner!

Bluenose1966 · 01/06/2025 13:40

Afternoon all. Well done to everyone and congrats @igivein 6 stone, brilliant.
Was out with my sister and cousin over the weekend, all three of us are on MJ though it definitely hasn’t stopped them drinking whereas I am not that bothered whether I do or not.

Week 13 of maintenance, taking 3mg weekly.
Official GW 9st 7lb, though happy
SW 12st 2lb
CW 9st 4lb, have stayed pretty much this weight for last 12 weeks.

I have reversed dieted during maintenance by increasing daily calories by 100 or so every couple of weeks and doing weight training twice per week to improve my metabolism. I am now eating 2000 calories a day without weight gain so pleased about that. Not sure if I can do it with being menopausal etc, but aiming for 2500 calories a day without it increasing my weight. Record all I eat on the Nutracheck app which only takes a minute to two of my time per day.
Would ideally like to reduce my dose from 3mg but find that is the sweet spot at moment.
Still concentrating on eating protein and veg first. Have read if you eat these first much less likely to overeat chips, bread etc, and finding that is true as we eat out quite a bit.

EVK · 01/06/2025 16:56

Love your maintenance tips @Bluenose1966 Ive never heard of reverse dieting before but I can see the value in that for rebalancing metabolism. I’m not in MJ now - this is my 4th week. I have a 2.5mg pen which expires in August so
um considering using it as seems a shame to
waste it.

Gilly1C · 01/06/2025 20:53

Hey all, hope you are well. Update from me: I have been told by my provider it's time to think about the future (I am nervous) I started at 14.10 and am now 10. 4 and a BMI of 23. I know myself it's time. I cleared out my wardrobe of all my 16/18 clothes via Vinted and had a lovely spending spree on size 10. Clothes, However I am incredibly nervous for this next stage, anyone else the same

HansHolbein · 01/06/2025 21:24

@recklessgran I can't believe your grandbaby is now 5 months old - time flies! Holiday plans sound lovely. Woohoo for a loss. Sorry about your blood test results. Never a dull moment, eh! Medexpress seem to be a total pain in the arse?!

@Carridoesntlivehereanymore It's just unbelievable that you can now walk into any shop and choose what you want because you LOVE it. I'm so happy for us all. I never thought it was possible.

@DeltaAlphaDelta79 What a bloody fantastic post holiday result, oh my gosh!

@Tohaveandtohold So pleased for you that it is all going well. Happy for you.

@Letshavetea1 Great NSV! I still have a stubborn waist. I am an annoying apple!

@TheOtherSide21 Fucking crazy loss! Tremendous! Well done.

@lapuf Oh my what a wonderful update! This is just incredible. Definitely stay with us!

@TheChosenTwo Hope you've had a good shit now... 5lbs loss is amazing, well done. Can you believe we would be here back in October?! Really lovely update.

@Maarva Fab update from you. Glad it's all going well.

@Fizzleawayyy1 So glad 10mg is working well for you. Sounds like you've had a nice week with the kids. How was Legoland? I dread the day my daughter asks me to go lol. Great loss this week, well done you.

@Mincepieinthesky A chest infection, you poor thing! How are you feeling now? Glad maintenance is going ok.

@UtterlyQuackers SHES IN A FRIGGIN BIKINI! YES QUEEN!

@icantgetnosheep1 You know, I totally understand. I think it's going to take a while to catch up with ourselves. I keep thinking I won't fit into this space or that chair... but I do, and it shocks me. Sometimes I catch myself in the mirror and think I look chubby but I obviously don't. It's just in my head. Also fucking freezing!

@EVK Nice to see you! You have a good outlook on this. Tomorrow is a new day and it will come straight back off.

@igivein 6 STONE! Wowee. Are you having fun with clothes?

@Bluenose1966 You're doing incredibly well and it gives me so much hope for when I come to maintenance soon. Really helpful advice, thank you. I am also not bothered by alcohol.

@Gilly1C Lovely update. You must be feeling wonderful. Clothes shopping is fun now, isn't it! Finally! Oh yes, I am a bit anxious about the next stage. I will have to continue taking it for some time due to PCOS so that takes the pressure off a bit. I gain weight very easily. Changing my mindset from losing to maintaining is scary. I've never been able to maintain any weight loss.

I am now 9st 5.6lbs BMI 21.9. 5.6lbs to goal. Can't believe it's happening. I've been destroying Vinted. I've ordered a ton of stuff. We both work from home so hiding the deliveries is hard, lol. I'm glad M&Sp isn't online or I wouldn't have any money left!

I did my second 15mg on Friday and it's going well. No side effects. Have a week from HELL at work coming up. We have a big event going on and it's a bit stressful. I will go away next weekend for four days so I am hanging on to that!

Love to all x

@igivein amazing! Well done

DeltaAlphaDelta79 · 02/06/2025 08:16

Morning all

Week 32
SW 17'10
CW 14'5

SO after my post holiday weigh in on saturday, I have put on 2 pounds since then, but we had a takeaway on saturday night and finished off the crap holiday food yesterday!

Still four pounds off since before my holiday so very happy with that!

Bonus dose of 15 today, then start next pen next Monday. Will need to order next one soon or else it will be far too long and I might have trouble getting it!

Well done everyone!

HappyNewt · 02/06/2025 16:46

wow...some amazing updates...well done everyone!

A small accountability update from me...

Still steadily, but slowly, moving down, and overall I feel pretty good!

I'm now below 70kg which also means I am into the 10st range too....woo hoo!
I started at 92kg...so that is definitely not as high or as fast as some...but, I haven't been under 70kg for at least 15 years... Prior to that it was some time that I hadn't weighed myself, but I do recall being horrified at weighing 68kg at at medical 20+ years ago, so getting below that will be a real milestone for me. I was the very lightest end of 'healthy' until my late 20's, but after that I just kept creeping up and then in the last 10 years more so, and then in the last 5 I headed over the upper end of 80's into the 90s which really wasn't me any more.

I am still 'overweight' so there are a few kg's to go, hopefully! One more 10mg pen on order and a 5mg in the fridge waiting, and that is it for me.....
I'm still hoping that as much of it as possible comes off my belly and muffin top...I know that they have reduced, but they could definitely reduce some more.

Thanks for the reassuring posts about maintaining post MJ, I am hoping that by now good habits have been made, and that my stomach has shrunk! I will certainly be a weigh-er going forward, so it is up to me to track and respond accordingly rather then burying my head in the sand and hiding my gains in those elasticated waists and stretchy 'magic pants'!!!

I have also had a few people notice a change recently too - some mentioning that I have lost weight and look good, others asking if I have changed my hair and that I look well.. so that is kind of nice...and motivational too.

Keep going out there!!
Thanks for all of the updates!!!

TheChosenTwo · 02/06/2025 22:24

@HansHolbein just wanted to say you’re such a lovely op! Although this thread belongs to all of us you are so thoughtful op to go back and check in and respond to so many individuals - thank you!
I feel like it kind of holds us all together and people lead by your example, it’s so nice to see all the cross conversations going on. A bit like sitting in a pub and listening to lots of people’s chats 😂 good for nosey people like me!!

and good luck for the week of hell coming up, I’ve got one like that this week! Must be that time of year 🫠 you’re So close to your target now. And I echo your concerns with the PCOS, think it’s going to be a long term thing for me.

LumionaMoonsplash · 02/06/2025 23:00

Some amazing 👏 results guys. I'm almost in the 10st camp which will be amazing for me. Currently 11st2. My original goal was 10st7, so I'm close.

I'm thinking about titrating down on my next order, particularly since I already have 2 and a half pens of 15mg to use,

I'm in 2 minds about it, happy that I'm finally nearing a healthy weight, I look and feel good but I'm terrified of putting it all back on after losing over 4st. I don't really want to be on the meds long term so I'll see how it goes.

UtterlyQuackers · 03/06/2025 17:02

@HansHolbein You legend! I second @TheChosenTwo. You are amazing at keeping up!

All of you guys are epic! Love to all for all of the support and kindness xx

HansHolbein · 04/06/2025 15:55

@TheChosenTwo @igivein @UtterlyQuackers awww thank you all. We’re all in it together. Really appreciate each and every one of you on this thread. I’m just so proud of us all. Makes me emotional how far we’ve come… never thinking this was at all possible. Look at us now!

@HappyNewt Lovely update from you and I’m glad everything is going well for you. Why is the tummy the last to go!

@LumionaMoonsplash Woohoo! Definitely a big fear of mine, too. Just take it slow and easy, don’t rush to come off. Which pharmacy are you with? Do they do maintenance for some security?

Week from hell is still hell! Big event tomorrow so just need to get that out of the way. I think everything is done, just tying up lose ends. I’m sure I will sleep like dog shit tonight. Heading to Waitrose for 7am for some challah bread, if they don’t have it out yet I think I might finally die… no way I can make that on a tight schedule … @lapuf you will understand 🙄😂

Same boat. I'm currently 11 stone 3 (have lost 5 stone!). Aiming for 10 stone 7 or may even push to 10 stone. I've been consistently half a stone a month loss ?or faster) so I reckon I can do it by the of the summer. Thinking of titrating down on my next pen but scared (also is it too soon if I still want to lose a stone?!).

EVK · 05/06/2025 06:26

@HansHolbein i hope you found your challah bread! I had to ask Morrisons to make me some once for an event in school - not easy to get hold of! Maintenance for all those getting close for me has been interesting! I’m definitely eating more, bigger appetite but also really enjoying my healthy diet. Keeping an eye on my little dark chocolate habit is essential! And I do think more often about food, but not binging, not drinking still (only a little and socially) still keeping a hold of food habits. I’m definitely a little anxious about food! Just desperate not to put on. It’s a new phase but definitely doable. I’m still weighing every day. Trying not to berate myself and stay positive as I have put on 2 lbs!! Now trying to lose them!!!! Ill
keep you posted. I love the new me and that is the best motivator for staying on me regime. You can all do it - I know you can 🙌🩷

lapuf · 05/06/2025 06:30

Oh gosh @HansHolbein! Our marks and Spencer has stopped selling it which is a blessing and a curse as it’s the best bread ever 🤤 I’m part Jewish so it’s in my blood!

lapuf · 05/06/2025 06:34

I’m still pretty much bang on 9st and making good choices 💪 given my best mate a load of size 12s so not storing them for when I go up again like I always do. I’ve learned such good habits over the past eight months and was chatting to DH last night about how his diet has improved too. He even has yogurt and nuts/fruit for breakfast now as he’s eating to nourish rather than convenience. My one regret is that I’d should’ve kicked the Pepsi max habit when I started MJ and it tasted weird but I overrode that BlushConfused I don’t drink tea or coffee so would miss it a lot!

EVK · 05/06/2025 19:52

@lapuf we all need some little vices !! Just in moderation. That’s the tricky part. I guess Pepsi max is like main lining sugar mind 😅🤣 so as long as you can cope with the blood sugar spikes and consequent urges for more !! My vice is definitely dark chocolate with sea salt! I could get seriously carried away. @surreygirl1987 and @LumionaMoonsplash on titrating down and being too soon/worries about it - maybe if you can continue losing at a lower dose that would be a bonus - only way you’ll really know is to give it go. If you find loss is too slow you could go back up? Also, 7lbs a month @surreygirl1987 is very good going in my book so would it be bad to slow it down a little? Body has better chance to modify and adapt to change without metabolism being totally slowed down. I guess it depends how quickly you want to get to goal? I’m sure others may have a different view - I say go with what feels right to you. 👍 Lowering the dose means you can slowly get used to managing your appetite etc. @HappyNewt sounds like you’re doing really well and cracking results - weigh, track and respond could be my new mantra !!

EVK · 05/06/2025 19:57

I’m still toying with the idea of using my 2.5mg in the fridge - although I’ve now stopped for a month - I was so paranoid about side effects after hurting my ribs and thinking maybe it wasn’t my ribs but my pancreas hurting !! Even though I knew that wasn’t likely I couldn’t stop over analysing every little feeling !! I almost feel like I’d be tempting fate to use it but then again that’s ridiculous and I don’t want to waste it !!! 😬🤪I’m probably going to use it !!! Answers in a post card please !!!

lapuf · 05/06/2025 21:31

ahh @EVK it’s sugar free but means it’s a upf Blush my main weight loss method is avoiding sugar spikes as I don’t count calories at all! My very flawed viewpoint seems to be that liquid upfs don’t count Confused

lapuf · 05/06/2025 21:32

Ps also I’d come off MJ for surgery and holiday and was almost at my goal weight with one 5mg pen in the fridge, that last 5mg pen is doing a fair bit of heavy lifting with easing me into maintainence Grin

Bluenose1966 · 05/06/2025 22:18

@EVK If I was thinking that long term I would no longer be on MJ then I would keep the 2.5mg in the fridge as a back up just in case I started to put weight on.

Ideally I would like to come off it but at 59 and being overweight for a lot of it, don’t think I could without weight gain. However I am open to different MJ strategies long term. I know some people have a month on / month off maintenance plan, so that may be an option for me eventually.

icantgetnosheep1 · 06/06/2025 14:22

Afternoon ladies, thought I’d pop in a say hello. It’s always so lovely to read all these wonderful updates from you all. @EVKwhat about micro dosing with the pen you have left? I have managed to stay at 8.2 (dropped from 8.4) not sure why and started to get a bit paranoid.. my eating has most definitely changed. I do think about the odd bag of crisp but don’t have them 😁 so food noise is louder but I’m not letting it win. Yay @LumionaMoonsplashheading into the 10st camp 🌟 amazing effort. Also well done to @HappyNewt taking it slow and steady - the race will indeed be won. Not forgetting @igiveinand the tremendous 6st loss!!! 🏆
people are obviously really noticing now and I’m getting more confident accepting compliments. The ones who amuse me most are those that look you up and down but ignore the not so large elephant in the room.. that’s more about them I suspect. I’m ready to build up my body a bit now as I’m 8 weeks post knee surgery. Work has kept me very busy but I need an outlet so body pump and spin class it is .. booked in for my first session tomorrow morning 💪 Happy Friday all xx

Letshavetea1 · 06/06/2025 16:34

@HansHolbein - thank you for your lovely posts and thinking of us all.
@DeltaAlphaDelta79 you may find it settles down. mine usually does after a holiday!
@HappyNewt Well done you! I’m chasing down to the 10’s as well. Such a nice feeling. I won’t dare come off MJ though!
@TheChosenTwo i agree that @HansHolbein is very motivational -
as are you all. We’re a nice group. Shame we can’t meet in person. Although on Trip Advisor some groups have meet ups - so you never know!!!
@LumionaMoonsplash - I’m just behind you at 11 stone 4 with a goal (for now) of 10 stone 7lbs. Staying on MJ though as at 69 I can’t face doing all this again!!
@EVK - glad to hear you’re doing well. I’m sure you’ll lose the 2lb soon. I find I can fluctuate by this amount on a regular basis!
@lapuf - I hope being off MJ goes okay for you. I’ve switched to fever tree sodas - don’t think they’re as upf? However, I do like a splash of gin in them! So not that great!
@icantgetnosheep1 - you’ve done amazingly well and can possibly have the odd crisp on occasions?
I’m now down to 11 stone 4 lbs (I think). Not sure because my scales have been playing up. They can vary by two pounds either way within minutes! So, I went to Argos and bought some Renpho scales today. I have my monitoring call with Oushk this evening and they want to see me weigh myself so I wanted accurate scales!
I’m still averaging only half a pound a week, but it’s coming off gradually. I’ve now lost 1 stone 5.5 lbs since October.
My other news is my clothes are baggy. With my daughter’s encouragement I’ve joined Vinted. I’ve received two items so
far - a dress which won’t fit me in a month of Sundays and a t shirt which is fab. I’ll give all my old clothes to my daughter who is on mat
leave and needs the money (she can sell them).
All the best to everyone!

TheChosenTwo · 06/06/2025 21:20

It’s my weigh day tomorrow, expecting a gain as I’m definitely due on my period and my cravings kicked in mid week, didn’t succumb to much but I did have a couple of jelly sweets, a slice of cheesecake (we had a birthday in the family!) and a couple of bags of crisps - throughout the week not all in one day. However I know how my body reacts to all those things, pesky insulin resistance!
Anyway, it’s happened fairly routinely with me and it’s totally normal BUT i also forgot I was a couple of days late taking my MJ 😂😂
