No solution to the jeans issue yet, I bought a pair of bootcut jeans, but I actually think the slightly wider leg look better, so I have some to wear, but they are not the ‘ones’, so the quest continues. 2lbs off this week and I think my goal is another 10lbs before the holiday, I’m then going to stay on the same dose and try to maintain for a while. If I decide I want to go lower I’ll restart for the final stone.

Hi, If you like the slightly wider leg, maybe try a palazzo jean? I’ve got a pair of these in 14 (couldn’t bring myself to buy M&S version just yet as I’m between sizes!)
They are super flattering, just a thought :)

Morning all!

Didn’t post last week as I was away on Sunday, weighed when I got back and I’d stayed the same, so didn’t have much to report.

So to this week:

SW: 20st 2lbs
CW: 14st 2lbs

KLAXON!!

I’ve now lost six stone!!!!!!

(that’s all I wanted to say 😊)

Amazing! Well done you 👏🏻🎉

EVK · 07/06/2025 09:02

@Bluenose1966 I can understand that feeling and it’s definitely easier with MJ. I think I might need that back up pen now!! @lapuf You're doing so well so sugar free Pepsi is obviously doable for you and probably helps keeps you going. How are you using the 5mg pen? @icantgetnosheep1 the food noise is definitely louder and I’ve been using the Buddhists method of simply noticing the thought and labelling as ‘food noise thought’ and then letting it go!! Seems to be working - my main issue is eating more at meal times as I have a larger appetite. Im still eating veggies and fish as main part of meal with either no or minimal carbs. If I do have carbs then it’s lentils, pulses, sweet potatoes and butternut squash. You’re doing so incredibly well - I’m in awe - 8.2lbs as well - wow - I would like to be the same but definitely feeling I might need the nudge of my 2.5mg!! And then really watch my portion control. @TheChosenTwo don't be too hard on yourself - it’s tough sometimes! It was a birthday and only o e piece of cheesecake 😅 That’s what I’m trying to tell myself - trying to avoid the negative self
talk!! Good news is that although I hit 8.10lbs!! This week at one point - I’m now down to 8.8lbs again today 😅 amazing what clearing rh bowl can do !!

flowerlady2 · 07/06/2025 09:09

Morning all, Just catching up on everyone’s news. It is quieter on here but actually still see familiar names posting and I love the support on this board.
I’ve stalled a bit, I’m on the end of my 3rd 10mg pen and just order the 12.5mg.
@Mysticmaiden I was reading your post about kick starting suppression so think I’ll jab at 5 days on my last one. I’ve lost 2lbs since 2nd May and although I’ve plateaued before, I’m really noticing lack of suppression.
I’m still 6lbs above the top of my BMI, so think I think upping the dose is the right time for me.
I feel fabulous, loving how I feel about myself and I agree with other posters, also how people respond to you when you are smaller- it’s not right, no, but I do notice it.
At 5ft 9 I’m aiming for a 10.8 final goal weight. I’m a bit shorter than you @surreygirl1987 but we seem to be heading towards a similar range :)

Start 16.4
Current 12.8
3st.10lb lost
Target 10.8
23% lost
BMI 26.1 from 33.8

TheChosenTwo · 07/06/2025 09:11

Well done @EVK - I agree too with the weight loss with a good 💩- amazing how much can be shifted in a short space of time 😂😂
Ah I’m not being hard on myself really, just quite realistic about my expectations this week - I know I’ll have a gain, just about to go and weigh myself. But equally I know why I’ve gained and that by next weekend it will be gone again. Every month that I have had a period while on MJ it’s been the same.
And I’ve enjoyed most of the treats this week and will be back to ‘normal’ from tomorrow onwards.
Good luck to anyone else who has a Saturday weigh day!

Carridoesntlivehereanymore · 07/06/2025 09:13

@Letshavetea1 how did your Oushk monitoring call go? I've got one in a couple of weeks but no idea what to expect.

flowerlady2 · 07/06/2025 09:31

Hmm forgot to add I also don’t mind people noticing my weight loss but I’m happy for them not to. I’m a secret jabber and like to think my weight high or low is the least interesting thing about me to other people, so see what you make of this!?
Last week I was entering reception for my weekly PT session and the receptionist said to me, I kid you not..
’You’ve lost a lot of weight haven’t you? How much have you lost now?’
I replied around 3 dress sizes.
’More than that!’ She demanded, ‘How have you done it?’ (But in an interrogatory way, not kindly if you know what I mean)
I replied well the usual way, I was doing WW (which I was alongside MJ) but switched to a more keto based diet as it worked better for me alongside the PT (also true).
’Oh so it’s not the injections then?’ she practically sneered.
Now luckily, she got me, and not someone else who might have reacted (which I felt she wanted) or someone who may have felt really upset. I just replied ‘no, they aren’t for me, but they seem to work for some I guess.’
The nosy moo cow! Honestly..

I'm in that weird headspace where I'm so proud of my weight loss and feel so good about myself that I want people to notice and compliment, then I feel embarrassed that I'm so vain and care so much, then worried that I look haggard so that's why I'm not getting comments.

I will admit to meds if asked (by genuinely curious people) because it feels disingenuous to others that have struggled with obesity for as long as I have. I'm not ashamed of MJ use. It's been life changing for me.

However, sneering gym receptionists can most certainly fuck off with their loathing and judgement.

LumionaMoonsplash · 07/06/2025 09:53

I've been a right old switcher with my providers and it's been quite easy each time. My latest provider is Medical Marketplace which cost me £145 for this higher doses which I think is quite cheap compared to what I've been paying at Medexpress.

Taxiparent · 07/06/2025 09:56

@flowerlady2 thank you, I have a Peacocks order sitting on the iPad! I must stop watching FB reels, because I see things and then order them, those jeans might just make it into the basket though!

TheChosenTwo · 07/06/2025 11:07

Well in a surprising twist of fate I dropped 2.5lbs this morning which has put me at an official 5 stone loss. Couldn’t be more surprised!
Now 11stone 0 and a BMI of 24.2.

EVK · 07/06/2025 11:31

@TheChosenTwo how marvellous and so love a simple twist of fate ! @LumionaMoonsplash theres nothing wrong with feeling proud and happy about the new you and wanting people to notice - it’s a wonderful thing 🩷 @flowerlady2 im incredulous for you! What an incredibly rude and unaware woman- she shouldn’t be working with the general public - outrageous way to behave - she’s lucky you haven’t made a formal complaint! @Letshavetea1 I’d love to hear about your maintenance call with Oushk too as although I’m not taking anything now - I do have one booked in August ! First appointment that was available.
@flowerlady2 you will move again - it’s the old consistency over time equation. Keep going and it will shift again. I slowed down the closer I came to goal and was never a fast loser. I had lots of stall which sometimes lasted a couple of weeks but then I’d have a steady 1lb a week for a while before another stall. If you analyse it we probably all have some kind of pattern. The suppression is so helpful for portion control - that’s what I’m trying to get a grip on now without the MJ.
Mindful eating, taking time and concentrating on the food - not easy when you’re rushing around and distracted by phone, TV,
family, work etc. but so important for tuning into your bodies ‘full’ signals!!! It’s a constant learning curve. Happy weekend all 🩷💕

Taxiparent · 07/06/2025 11:41

Well done @TheChosenTwo, and snap, I lost 2lbs this morning and hit 5 stone as well, I lost 3lbs last week and 2lbs the week before, so very unexpected as I’m only about half a stone from target. I’m taking about 6.6mg and this has coincided with the 3 good losses, so 8m sticking with it. Most holiday clothes purchased, so need to be careful that they don’t become too big as holiday not until August, but I honestly didn’t think I would get this far!

Bluenose1966 · 07/06/2025 11:41

Totally concur that @HansHolbein has been brilliant at keeping us all together, thankyou😍, I find it interesting that we are all different ages, different weights and different stages of life. The bond has been a desire to lose weight and of course MJ.
I never went on Mumsnet forum before this and love that this thread stays so positive unlike many of the threads on other topics that I confess I have found a guilty pleasure in reading🙄 Horrified sometimes at the events in peoples lives and the nastiness of some of the responses.

Congratulations @TheChosenTwo - an amazing loss.
@flowerlady2 I have been more open about MJ to friends and anyone who seems genuinely interested and I think it may help them. But think I would have told that gym receptionist to fuck right off, cheeky bitch. Why are some people so judgmental…..

Feel like a broken record but
Week 14 of maintenance
SW 12st 2lb
GW 9st 7lb (happy with 9st 2lb - 9st 7lb)
CW 9st 2.7lb.
Current dose 3mg, though have been taking every 8 days for last 2 weeks to time it so don’t have to inject during a Norwegian Fjords cruise we are going on in a week. Will eat my protein and veg first but will definitely be having some treats and worry about it when I get home. Though suppose I could consider 8/9 days long term if weight ok.

The below is short video of an obesity Professor on BBC news saying many people will regain weight if stopping MJ. Though I have definitely read of other experts saying it is possible if you change previous lifestyle, particularly if you haven’t been overweight for a long time.
https://fb.watch/A3PMBADexa/?
Though don’t read the over 500 comments that say all we need to di exercise and eat less to lose weight🙄😂

HansHolbein · 07/06/2025 13:04

@EVK Annoyingly no bloody challah, nor in Gail's... but it all went well and I am now on my own enjoying the peace! Lovely to read your update. I like weighing myself everyday, too. Keeps me on track! So good to hear that maintenance is going well for you. Gives me lots of hope. Oh I would totally use the 2.5... Glad you've shifted those annoying lbs! Woohoo!

@lapuf Didn't even know that Marks&S did it... how did I not know that! So pleased that maintenance is going well for you, too. Relate with the whole household making better choices. Regarding Pepsi, you've got to have some enjoyment in your life!

@icantgetnosheep1 Hellooooo! Can't believe it's been that long since your surgery. Times flies. Are you ok and recovering well? How did the new class go?

@Letshavetea1 Lovely update. OMG would LOVE a meet up! I'm loving Vinted, too. So much stuff I want to buy. I've heard those Renpho scales are the business - how are you finding them?

@TheChosenTwo Oooo cheesecake, yum! Totally understand about that pesky IR. How have your periods been on MJ? Does your PCOS impact them at all? I always have a gain over my period. I don't mind anymore though, it always comes off and at least I am actually getting periods these days. It's nice to know my body is 'working' again. What a bloody amazing twist of fate. I am SO happy for you! How much more do you have to lose?

@flowerlady2 Yes, maybe time to up the dose. You're doing great. The thing I still can't believe about MJ is how it keeps us going. Never in my entire life have I been able to keep this kind of momentum up for so long. Even if I have a 'bad' week, I know it doesn't turn in to a 'fuck it' month. It's so lovely to read how much you love yourself. You deserve all the happiness. Oh Lord have mercy, that receptionist! Jeez Louise. You did very well there, keeping your cool. I think I would have lost it. Who the FUCK do these people think they are?!

@LumionaMoonsplash Yes, I am the same. I will say that I am taking MJ depending on who is asking. If it's nosey Zara on checkouts in Sains, I'm not telling... but if it's someone I know, especially someone I know who struggles with their weight, I'm always honest. Depends on the person and the situation. I don't think I've had any shitty comments yet. None that I can remember, anyway. I don't ever comment on anyones weight, you never know if they have had a medical episode or something. For a lot of women it's just so personal, I'd rather not go down that road.

@Taxiparent Lovely, so happy for you. 5st is incredible. This is just all so nuts to me. I am so proud of us all. Not long to goal for you now!

@Bluenose1966 MN can be a bit of a cesspit tbh. I learned a long time ago to stick to the nice parts. I go through phases of posting all over the boards and then just reading. Sometimes I take a break and strop off if it pisses me off too much. Week 14 of maintenance is amazing! Thank you sooo much for the video, I will watch it later. I can already envision the comments now, arseholes!

Not much to report from me. I am away on my own. Whenever I go away I always seem to be on my period, typical. Loo looked like a Silent Witness episode this morning. Weather is a pile of shit but I might go for a walk this afternoon. I am by a lake with lots of geese. Why are they so noisy when they talk? When they are standing around they are noisy and when they are flying they are noisy? What are they talking about? Please be quiet.

@recklessgran Are you ok Gran?

@Mincepieinthesky Are you ok buddy?

Sending lots of love to all x

Thanks @HansHolbein - it’s been on the horizon for ages and I finally got there today.
not sure really about how much more I want to lose, I think I look well now, slim and still have a nice shape - I’m quite tall and I think 11st looks pretty good on me. Maybe need to shift another 7lbs though to give me a little wriggle room but I’d be happy sitting where I am.
regarding the periods, I have them now! Didn’t have them forever, ever since I started them as a teen I’d have one a year, one every 18 months, just so sporadic. Then after a month or so on MJ they just miraculously appeared regularly, every 4/5 weeks or so. It’s incredible! Mind you, dh and I have to be a lot more careful now that we don’t end up with a surprise 4th baby 🤣🤣

Mincepieinthesky · 07/06/2025 14:29

@HansHolbein hello hans, just as I recovered from the chest infection I picked up the worst bug I’ve ever had. Had a rubbish week trying not to 💩 myself on teams 🥲. Oh to be away on my own, even with the geese chatter! Enjoy!

The silver lining of my germ fest has been that I lost another 6lbs, it’s my birthday next weekend and the dress I got is very fitted so every little helps. Annoyingly since being off MJ my PMS cravings came back and I now fancy certain things for dinner etc whereas before I could go all day without thinking about food. But staying strong and back to intermittent fasting to try and maintain, love hearing those of you who are doing so well in maintenance 👏🏼

@TheChosenTwo how tall are you? I'm just over 11 stone now and am also tall (just shy of 6 foot) so am wondering when to stop! Maintainance appointment now booked but like you I'm pondering what 'wriggle room' I want!

lapuf · 07/06/2025 20:41

Ooh lots of updates to come back to!
well done @TheChosenTwo Halo
@EVK I’ve decided to use it as my tapering down pen and just using 2.5mg out of it on a Sunday night. Not sure how long over the 30 days I’m willing to risk it but not ordered a pen in so long now and my bmi is 22.5 so won’t be allowed another one Blush
My sister came off before me (we were similar starting weights but she was happy to get to under bmi 25 and stop there), she reported from the other side that the hunger is insane and I feel like I’m getting glimpses of that with this lower dose! More like a food roar than food noise…
@Letshavetea1 I am going to try replacing a can with a fevertree tonic! I just love bubbles… maybe I should invest in a sodastream
I think I need to prioritise fibre as much as protein after listening to the latest Zoe podcast so will be doing some research. I feel like my mini lunch of cheese and ham probably isn’t meeting my fibre requirements Confused

Letshavetea1 · 08/06/2025 07:55

Morning all, thanks for your comments and updates. Congratulations on the weight losses! Regarding the Oushk call - it was absolutely fine. I just got asked to show my driving license (or can use passport). Then I had to pop on the scales. I was so pleased I’d bought the new Renpho ones as they immediately worked with no faffing about! I’m still getting used to all of the fancy macros (may ignore them tbh!). They do seem to be very accurate from what I can see so far.

The woman from Oushk was very pleasant and professional. After the weigh in she asked if I had any other concerns or questions. I didn’t, but I just asked how far ahead to book a maintenance appointment. She said they’re booked up until August now. She suggested it might be a good idea to book one now for the autumn as it can always be changed nearer the time as they give you a cancellation appointment. I still think I’ll wait until I hit 11 stone before booking one. I need to see 10 stone something on the scales!

igivein · 08/06/2025 12:16

Morning all!

Weigh-in day for me and another 2lbs off

SW 20st 2lbs
CW 14st 0lbs

I did see a 13 on the scales during the week, but it had gone back up to 14 this morning. Maybe next week…

I’m loving hearing about everyone’s experiences, especially those on maintenance- it gives me something to dream about 😁

As a 61 year old who’s been obese for most of my life (and still is, but hopefully not for much longer) I think I’m resigned to becoming a lifelong MJ user, but it’s the only medication I take so I can learn to live with it.

TheChosenTwo · 08/06/2025 12:58

@surreygirl1987 you’re taller than me, i’m 5’8 and taller than most women I know so always think I'm quite tall 😂😂
But 11 stone on the nose seems to suit me, I feel like I look well and like I said, I’m pleased I’ve managed to retain my shape. I like my bum, would hate to lose it and get a flat one! So just mindful really of the balance. It’s tricky. When is your maintenance booked for? I’m not in a hurry to book it but maybe I ought to, I’m not really losing much now, it’s definitely slowed right down other than a few odd anomalies here and there. Not wanting to reduce my calories to lose it quicker etc, just feeling quite content.

Oh you are quite tall! I'm pretty pleased with my weight now too - I can happily look in a mirror again - but I'd benefit from a buffer! Maintainance appointment is booked for a couple of weeks or so. It sounds like you've hit the sweet spot, so that's brilliant! From looking at your previous messages it looks like we've both recently hit 5 stone loss- congrats to us both 👏

DeltaAlphaDelta79 · 09/06/2025 08:33

Morning all

Week 33
SW 17'10
CW 14'1

Second 15mg pen just started. Officially now 3 and a half stone down and 1 pound until I am into the 13s!

15 has been a bit weird, its been a bit all or nothing. I have either had really strong suppression, nausea and a dodgy stomach, or nothing at all, but at least I have lost every week after staying the same the first week.

The nausea definitely doesn't feel as bad as time goes on, and I have had it worse at lower doses.

I have my current pen, and another one in the fridge after that, so 10 weeks worth. I think when I get to the end of the second pen, I will evaluate where I am and what my next move is. I definitely do not want to stay on this forever, and not sure whether to come off cold turkey or titrate down, there is so much mixed information online!

There is a gym near me that does classes and nutritional advice/eating plans for less than the monthly jab cost, so I am thinking of diverting some of the MJ funds to there to see how things go. I am so desperate not to put the weight back on again, especially after 5 stone with SW before and putting all that back on!
