@Missreginafalange @Losingthetimber fabulous weight loss - be proud of yourselves, having lost 3 stone plus - I would
imagine it’s fairly common for weight loss to slow up and also much healthier that you lose slowly - consistency over time is the key so just keep going - that’s the brilliant thing about MJ, there’s not the f’ it mentality and you can simply keep going. @NeverJustInTime Im sorry to hear your side effects have been so awful, what dose are you on? Your job does sound like it puts a lot of obstacles in the way of your food choices. I can’t imagine having a job like that! My worst nightmare is cake and biscuits in the staff room! Everyone goes crazy for those as we’re all so tired and stressed!! MJ has knocked that on the head for me which is great. As far as maintaining once you come off MJ - I totally understand the fear and anxiety around going it alone. I’m planning to come off in the near future too. There will be a few of us going it alone and we still have this wonderful group for support. Hopefully you have managed to build some really positive new habits that you can continue to build upon. Good luck and stay with us.
Weight in and jab day for me - I’ve lost 1lb which I’m pleased about - I know it’s not dramatic but at this point in my journey it’s just incredible that I’m still going and losing at all!
SW: 11.7
CW: 9.0 3/4 I haven’t been this weight in many years and it feels incredible to be back here. Like I’m me again.
This week my suppression on 5mgs has been great (it’s my third pen) seems to be a good dose for me. Sooo, onwards and downwards we go ! My GW: 8.10 ish! Seemed like a dream at the beginning but now it’s a real possibility 🤩
Happy Saturday everyone 🩷

Losingthetimber · 22/02/2025 09:18

@NeverJustInTime , yes it is hard, it is so much easier at home, when you’re fully in control. Plus my family eats the same as me for dinner, and they know I’m on the injections, so I’m not self conscious, or stressing in advance about the menu.

dont get me wrong it’s lovely socialising, and I’m sure a lot of people would love to be going out for paid for lunches and dinners, but when dieting and on the injections, it’s tricky to navigate, and feels like something you’ve just got to get through,

lickycat · 22/02/2025 10:03

SW: 14st 13.2
CW: 13st 10.6
loss this week 1.6lb
total loss 1st 2.6lb

Week 18. After that stagnation in January (when I stayed on 5mg for a second month) the weight is moving downwards again on 7.5. I’m still a slow loser, but I’m happy with that. The mental benefits for me of being on MJ are so positive that I’m hoping that I’m in this for the long haul and a slow and steady journey suits me fine.

Happy weekend everyone.

Losingthetimber · 22/02/2025 11:09

@EVK , sorry seemed to have not seen your post. And yes agree, I think it slows the less you have to lose. And congrats on hitting the 9 stone basically! Whoop!

Losingthetimber · 22/02/2025 11:10

@lickycat , well done on more losses , glad you’re seeing movement again,💫

UtterlyQuackers · 22/02/2025 11:12

Thank you for the new thread @HansHolbein

I have had a really good half term. Exercise everyday, eating healthy. The bloody scales did not budge!

Absolutely smashed my calories on Thursday and they have now gone down. 🤷‍♀️

HansHolbein · 22/02/2025 11:50

@Fizzleawayyy1 I really hope you're feeling better today. Hate days like that and the milk would have really pissed me off.

@Losingthetimber I think I would die with all those dinners! Thankfully I work from home and have no colleagues lol. My husband is my colleague but he doesn't count. You have a good plan in place good for you for sticking to your guns. Enjoy your meal tonight, love Indian food!

Another fab loss. Not long for you now. So happy for you about the blood pressure.

@Missreginafalange Hey! I was thinking of you the other day and hoping you were ok. 3st is amazing! You're totally right that at least we keep going on MJ. I would have given up weeks ago.

@NeverJustInTime Can't imagine how hard it must be to have a job that sometimes revolves around food. Even if you're not a 'diet' it must be tough. Are these meals free, though? I suppose that makes it easier lol. When are you coming off?

@EVK Lovely, well done. Not long to go for you now!

@lickycat Woohoo! Glad the scale is moving for you. Agree re mental benefits, it's worth it just for that. I'm so much calmer and things bother me less now.

@UtterlyQuackers So bizarre how our bodies work! Half term has gone so quickly, hasn't it?

Nothing from me really. 10mg very good. Injection day tomorrow and still feeling the full effects. On all previous doses I would get a bit wobbly on day 5&6 but that hasn't happened on this dose. Maybe I will stay here? Need to do another order from Cloud come to think of it. Will have to do some clothes shopping next week because everything is baggy and shit right now.

Going to have a nice tuna salad for lunch and then go for a walk. I'm on my own this weekend so enjoying the peace. Mum can I have a snack! Mum can you drop me to town! Mum can I have some money! Mum do we have any shredded wheat left! Mum what is the password for blablabla.... LEAVE ME ALONE!

NeverJustInTime · 22/02/2025 12:30

@HansHolbein It’s honestly one of the main reasons I never seem to be able to maintain my weight, I lose it then life comes for me and I put it back on… again and again and again. I calorie count which is totally impossible when you’re not preparing your own food. Even if I try and make good choices, sometimes there just aren’t any good options other than not eat, which looks rather rude if we’re at a sit down luncheon or some such thing. I’ve taken my last jab today (didn’t want to waste it!) but the constipation and continual nausea have got to a point that I can’t cope any longer. Really really gutted. I honestly need to figure out how to navigate my situation going forward but at the minute no strategies are coming to mind, it’s really hurting my head!

littleburn · 22/02/2025 13:28

Checking in to the new thread. I seem to be stalling again at 10st 2lb which is annoying as I really want to see a 9 on the scales! Moving up to 12.5mg on Monday, upping water and protein and trying to move more. But, bigger picture, I'm 2 stone lighter than I was in October and 75% of the way to target.

Anyone else finding it hard to keep their steps up the last few weeks? I live in a lovely area and have no excuse not to go for a walk, but the weathers been so grey and cold I've been driving everywhere and staying warm. There's actually a bit of sunshine today so hopefully spring is on its way!

lapuf · 22/02/2025 16:38

Well done littleburn, the 9s will be here soon!
Also well done EVK, we're not far off the same stats but you're way ahead of me! I'm aiming for 9st, got down to 8st10 whilst BF my youngest but I looked a bit gaunt so will see how I look at 9. I've already revised down from 9st 7.
I had a group of (all slim!) mum friends notice last night and one of them asked me in a nice way if it was intentional as I've had a pretty stressful start to the year, but they were complimentary and said I'd done really well Grin no one asked about jabs so didn't say.

Losingthetimber · 22/02/2025 17:06

@lapuf , it’s interesting no one mentioned the injections, I think the general population isn’t that aware of them, in terms of knowing much about it,if it wasn’t for this forum, I’d assume they were for morbidly obese and some celebs getting it when they shouldn’t, only, and habe no idea where to buy privately.

I think as so much noise on here it makes us think everyone has it at top of mind, and I suspect that’s far from the case. I think most people know very little about it.

YummyCookie · 22/02/2025 23:37

Hi all, just marking my place. I will have a good catch up tomorrow.

recklessgran · 23/02/2025 06:57

Morning all. It's my weigh and jab day. I'm sorry to report a one pound gain for me which is entirely my own fault. I've been eating quite a bit of bread this week in the form of toast and marmite plus several biscuits. I know I really shouldn't be eating these things - I've just been very lazy food wise this week. Oh well, lesson learnt and it's an increased dose this evening for me. I'm going to try 3.75mgs again. Wish me luck - last time I tried this dose I was floored for several days with violent vomiting and extreme tiredness but clearly I didn't get enough suppression this week on the usual 3.5mgs. I'm taking it as a sign I need to move up again. It's two weeks today until we return to Gran Canaria for a week AI and I was hoping to be in the 13's by then but I'm pretty sure that won't be happening now. Sigh. I will however be half a stone lighter that when we were last there at the beginning of January so I'll take that as a win plus the fact that I now fit into my size 16 swimwear.
SW 15st 7lbs
CW 14st 4.5lbs.
Love reading all the updates from you lot - I'll keep plodding along on my slow losers path. I'm in this for the long haul so not too disappointed with myself.

Mrsmajeeka · 23/02/2025 07:43

@recklessgran good luck with the increased dose hope you don’t get any bad side effects. Where have you been jabbing as I had started thigh because of my sickness at Xmas and had only been losing steadily over Feb but last week went back to stomach and have dropped 3.5lb this week.

Just weighed this morning and I’ve hit 3 stone off. I can’t believe it really, seems surreal.

@Losingthetimber @lapuf I think the consensus with injections outside of here is that they are for the morbidly obese, I met with some friends last night who I’d last seen at Xmas when I was 2 stone down and said I was now 3 but still 7lb to go to get to healthy bmi and they were shocked that I could lose that much and still be overweight because they would never have said that I looked obese in the first place. I must have hidden it well under my baggy clothes because a couple of people have commented that I didn’t need to lose anything, whether that is politeness but i obviously did as I was wedging myself into clothes that left marks on me! The injections were mentioned but not asking me if I was on them, just a friend talking about her struggles and saying she’d heard about them. Anyway, wore a “new” old dress last night that I haven’t worn for at least 5 years and I am now down to my pre pregnancy weight from 10 years ago, so pleased.

we’re away for Easter so hoping to get to the low 11s by then and maybe by a bikini for my holiday - mum tum dependant!

I'm also a slow loser, started 2nd October 5ft 3' on 13st bmi 32, I'm now 11st 8lbs bmi 28.5.
I have noticed when I drink lots of water and eat low carbs, I lose weight after a plateau of not much loss. Not sure if that will help anyone.

igivein · 23/02/2025 09:04

Weigh in day for me and a 2lb loss.
I weigh every day to keep myself honest 😁I was stubbornly stuck on 1lb down for most of the week, then when I weighed this morning and another pound had disappeared - how does that happen!

Anyway:
SW 20st 2lb
CW 15st 12lb

So this week I've dropped into the 15s and hit 60lb total loss - huzzah

Losingthetimber · 23/02/2025 09:26

Morning all. Happy Sunday!

@recklessgran , it is a marathon indeed, and I don’t think it matters how long it takes, you know you’re heading to goal.

@Mrsmajeeka yes, I think most people just hear about them abstractly, maybe the panorama program or the news, and don’t think much on it. But was reading other threads this morning, and wow, some folks really have issues with these drugs, they really resent that we are on them. But I think that’s an online thing and if you’re not on these type of forums you likely don’t know much.

@Mysticmaiden , yes I eat very few carbs and drink lots of water, so my weight loss tends to be fairly consistent, we pee out fat, so need to ensure we drink enough,

@igivein , wow that’s utterly Amazing, you must feel like a whole new person.!

igivein · 23/02/2025 09:46

Thanks @Losingthetimber I do feel good and lots more energy. Although it does bring me up short when I realise I still weigh more than most people's starting weight...
I'm trying to up the exercise, swimming's my thing, which is excellent for you especially as a 'large' person as it doesn't stress your joints, but I'm going to have to explore some kind of weight training as I'm hearing all sorts about muscle loss on MJ.
I've also been reading the other thread about osteoporosis and ozempic. Maybe I don't need to worry about starting weight training, because according to the doom-mongers on that thread I'll have brittle bones, be BLIND and god knows what else - I'll probably be dead before I get to a healthy weight and I'll have no-one to blame but myself!

Losingthetimber · 23/02/2025 09:50

@igivein , it’s a big difference though already, and as per comment to reckless gran, it’s a marathon, but I can only imagine how great you must feel.

yes I’ve read that thread, I’ve seen many of them on here, they seem to happen every few days, weight seems to really mess some people up. It really does. Some folks seem to hate we can get slim on these drugs. It’s quite eye opening.

HansHolbein · 23/02/2025 10:43

@NeverJustInTime You sound just like me. I can do it for a couple of weeks, I might lose a couple of pounds but then life gets in the way, add in PCOS and it's just... a nightmare. I'm so sorry you've been feeling so shit and you have to stop. Sorry if you have already mentioned this but could you take a break and then try Wegovy?

@littleburn Well done on your 2st loss, happy for you! Not long to go now for you. I know what you mean; it's always hard in Jan/Feb. It looks bleak out there. It was really beautiful yesterday so I went for a couple of walks and then sat outside for a bit. It won't be long and it will be like that more often. I've been sooo cold on MJ that it does make me close the door as soon as I open it if I am feeling like a walk!

@lapuf I'm also aiming for 9st! 3st 4lbs to go for me so it seems like it will never happen... but then I could never imagine losing 4st. We'll get there. It's quite nice when people notice, isn't it? I don't mention MJ unless it's someone I think would understand. Going by all the shitposting on MN about it I am reluctant to open myself up to any bollocks.

@recklessgran Nice to see you Gran. Please take me on holiday with you! Sorry to hear about your pound. Annoying, but at least you know what has caused it. I love bread. Hope the increased dose goes ok, I know you've really struggled.

@Mrsmajeeka 3st! Amazing! Not long for you, woohoo! I'm so proud of all of us.

@Mysticmaiden Thank you for the reminder about water... I'm sure someone said on here that we pee out fat?! I used to drink about 2L of water a day but it's slipped a bit this week. Will do better from today.

@igivein 60 fucking pounds! Incredible. You must feel amazing?! Have you bought any new clothes yet? Think I'm going to buy some stuff next weekend. Marks & S have some really nice stuff in atm; we've got a huge one near us so I'm going to try lots of stuff on. Those MJ shitposting threads are all the same. Probably started by slim people who have no idea what we have been through, devastated that they won't be the only people in the slim club going forward. I never see this faux concern about other drugs.

I wonder if they would say the same thing if an injection was brought out for alcoholics or drug addicts?! It's all bollocks and I can see straight through it. I also think its the same people with different usernames regurgitating the same old shite. They will move on to something else soon, once the Daily Mail stops scaremongering.

I'm taking my last 10mg today. I'm so pleased with how 10mg has been for me. I had quite a shit time on 7.5mg so it's been a relief. I've been away this weekend on my own so have really enjoyed the peace. I started reading Winston Churchill's biography which was interesting but very wordy... I think it's going to take me about 6 months to get through it. Think I made a mistake there lol.

Love to all x

Morning all, thanks for sorting out new thread @HansHolbein
Week 18 weigh in - age 58 and on HRT.
Lost just over a pound this week.
SW 12-2
CW 9- 7.9
GW 9-7
So close to GW, in fact sod it I am classing myself as at GW.😂

Going to be two days late taking my jab this week as decided to start taking it on a Sunday so I have more appetite by the following weekend. Going to reduce from 6.25mg to 5mg and see how weight goes over next few weeks until pen runs out. Will then start official maintenance.
Lots of stories on Reddit on halving the pen dose and making it last 2 months, though obviously no prescriber would officially allow that. Though they will allow month on/off strategy. I want to reduce the costs long term so may order more pens then pay for monthly maintenance. Likely I will then reorder at least one pen when coming to the end of the 12 months to keep myself on the scheme. It’s going to be a balancing act staying at goal.

Have bought loads of clothes from Vinted in a size 12 and delighted with most of them. However I am going to have to bite the bullet and get rid of my size 16s as wardrobes chocker. I’m really worried about getting rid of them though 😱

Still eating 120g protein and weight training twice a week to counteract any muscle loss. In fact think my strength is going up as lifting heavier weights.
My cousin same age as me is on MJ and doing brilliantly, she is on a permanent high as has really improved her mood, she reckons before her blood sugars were haywire which really affected her.

recklessgran · 23/02/2025 11:33

Thank you for your supportive messages @Mysticmaiden @Mrsmajeeka @Losingthetimber and @HansHolbein they mean a lot! @HansHolbein I'd love to bring all of you on holiday - wouldn't that be hilarious good fun! @Bluenose1966 how amazing to be at goal - big congratulations you must feel brilliant. I understand what you mean about getting rid of entire wardrobes of clothes after losing - I've done this a few times and regretted it. I'm not sure what I will do when it comes to it although I think I'll be having a very long maintenance arrangement.

@Bluenose1966 ! Omg. Congrats! Goal! I will be interested in seeing how you find titration down, I’m several weeks away, but will need to face it too at some point.

HansHolbein · 23/02/2025 11:59

@Bluenose1966 OMFG! Amazing! Massive congratulations! Clothes shopping must be so much fun. Makes me feel a bit teary actually, just so happy for you - well all of us really. Also scared to get rid of my bigger stuff...

@recklessgran Me and you both, I don't think I will ever be coming off. I know exactly what will happen if I do.
