I’m all good, thanks for the well wishes!
So glad I lost weight beforehand, being 2.5 stone lighter is going to make recovery much easier. The surgeon said my cartilage is all there so I should be able to resurrect my running once I get the go ahead.

icantgetnosheep1 · 03/05/2025 14:54

Weekend update from me: Found an old suitcase full of clothes I’ve not fitted in .. basically I have a whole new wardrobe! 😆 all size 8’s and 10’s which is what I was before lockdown 2019/20 so a good 5 years ago. Some still with tags on never worn!! I’ve had some quite shocking reactions this week from friends I haven’t seen in a while, yeah I’ve lost weight and it’s glaringly obvious but I’m baffled no one mentioned how fat I’d got and that’s been my standard response. I feel like a few of the comments have been the green eyed type - not so kind, that’s about them not me. I do need to work on muscle mass now my knee is on the mend, I’ve lost all the muscles I did have 🙈 still 8.6 today so maintaining well. I just don’t eat anything near what I used to, no junk goes in. Protein, water, and coffee .. can’t seem to stomach bread at all. If I do eat it my tummy is like a washing machine on a fast spin! Another curve ball has just been thrown into my life - the company I work for has been ‘acquired’ by the one competitor I hate (strong word I use very rarely).. 15 years service and now I’m questioning my next move. So it may well be new body, new job as well as new house/single life fml it’s been quite a ride. BUT I’m a glass half full kind of girl, new beginnings, slim for summer and a woman capable of smashing pretty much anything life throws at her! I’m tempted to cut all my hair off and dye it pink lol

Wow @icantgetnosheep1that's quite the update Grin
any chance of redundancy?

Not sure at this point 🤷🏼‍♀️ if I’m honest I’m happy to take it and run. Trouble is I’m 53 and have worked in a niche role carved out and grown by me, handing that over pains me but it is what it is. Tuesdays online staff meeting will be interesting that’s for sure.

Are you home already @lapuf

Yep home and weight bearing, painkillers doing their job! Though I can’t mix with alcohol so missing my weekend glass of wine Sad

icantgetnosheep1 · 03/05/2025 20:12

Fab, pleased to hear your home! One glass won’t hurt.. probably help you sleep!!

EVK · 04/05/2025 07:32

@icantgetnosheep1 the reactions from friends with a big t of green eye is something I e experienced too. Once quite angrily demanding to know how much I now weigh and insisting I don’t lose any more weight. Saying how I’ll look awful if I do! Another, my sister-in-law who doesn’t acknowledge I’ve lost any weight or say anything about it?!

what a bonus to find a suitcase full of clothes !! I gave all my smaller clothes away - thought I’d never get back into them!

I too have a great niche job which is under threat due to funding and I might lose a day. It’s tough when you’re somewhere you love but with your positive attitude I’m sure if you have to you’ll find something else you love doing. New house, single, new you! Short Pink hair 🤣

Glad all is well @lapuf x

Ive decided to stop MJ mainly due to paranoia over last few weeks since I hurt my ribs! Tender under my left rib cage and every little feeling I get - I’m - is that pancreatitis! I’m at goal and was going to titrate down from 5mg with a 2.5mg pen. Instead I’ve decided to just stop. I have a short date 2.5mg (runs out in August) so if I find myself slipping I thought I could start on it after a month break or so?!! Basically do t know what to do but think I’ve made the best call. Im going to stay off carbs and keep away from UPFs, keep alcohol to
a minimum and hope that keeps me on an even keel! I too need to build muscle now big style so once my ribs have fully healed it’s back to the gym. Im doing huge hill walks most days so fitness etc. is great but floppy arms and bum!!!

Fizzleawayyy1 · 04/05/2025 09:00

@KolaKoalaKan so sorry to hear about your mum. I hope things get better for you.

@lapuf Hope you are feeling ok after your op!!

@icantgetnosheep1 You sound like you have it all going on but a amazing attitude towards it all! bet you feel amazing in all your new size 8 and 10s!

@EVK I am sure you will still do great now you have stopped! and you have that last pen as a back up just in case. I dont think il be stopping for ages. I actually need to order a new pen next week to keep up with the orders and not leave a huge gap between as I don't want to be refused.

Slightly annoyed I only lost a few oz this week, I was super good all week so its not deserved but hopefully I shift something this week coming.
Doing some house clearance and light decorating this weekend so I haven't stopped and need to go load the car for another tip run!
However going to the lake later and will have a drink and get some food with the kids to enjoy the weather.

lapuf · 04/05/2025 09:42

I did have a glass of wine and missed my evening codeine, will not miss tonight’s as woke up in pain at 2am Blush
@EVKyou have the same approach as me to maintaining.
I’ve not jabbed for 17 days. Food noise isn’t too bad and I fasted on surgery day and I ate exactly the same as on MJ yesterday and I’ve gained 3.5 lbs in two days Confused reckon it must be dehydration from the fasting! It had better be, anyway. Still weighing up (pun intended) whether to start my last pen or save it!

EVK · 04/05/2025 09:51

@Fizzleawayyy1 - sounds you’re packing it in today! You go girl 🙌 thanks for support - I hope I’ll be ok as Ive decided not to pay the monthly fee for year on maintenance with Oushk but just make a clean break and know that I’m doing it for myself now and have to take my incredible boost from MJ and keep going !!! Im scared and don’t want to slip back to old habits so I’ll be staying here for support and let you all know how it’s going. I’m already aware the 5mg was waning in suppression and I was feeling the urge to get another piece of dark chocolate after eating my self agreed amount! Also, portion sizes have increased although I’m still off carbs and very healthy, clean food and maintaining weight loss so I guess that’s ok! It’s defo a learning curve and balancing act now!

I often had weeks where I hardly lost despite eating really well - so t worry - it’s consistency over time that gets there. You’re bound to have these slow weeks it’s part of the process. Just keep going 🙌🩷

Letshavetea1 · 05/05/2025 11:42

I’ve just caught up on all the recent messages @HansHolbein thanks for your message, glad you’re doing so amazingly well. @KolaKoalaKan so sorry to hear about your mum. That’s very tough for you to deal with. @lapuf I’m glad you’re recovering but sorry to hear you were in pain last night. @icantgetnosheep1 I agree that you’ll be fine because of your approach. Not sure about pink hair (am I allowed to say that?!). I would go for the short haircut though! I need to get back in the gym - have been slack recently and I can see I have flabby skin on my inside thighs (think it’s muscle loss). @EVK - you’ve done so well and with the changes you’ve made I’m sure you’ll do well. Glad to hear you’re sticking with to us! @Fizzleawayyy1 - you look amazing! Sorry I’ve missed other people who’ve posted. I have read all of your posts - this thread moves fast!
@recklessgran - those moments with a little one are precious. I adore spending time with my grandaughter.
For those of you who’ve had (green eyed) comments so I have I! Eg ‘I’m doing it the hard way’ from one friend.
I’m now fully settled into my new 7.5mg dose and feel fine on it. I get some nausea on about day three - but I can deal with that. I have just lost another pound - so now down 11 stone 7 pounds. 7 lbs to go to a healthy bmi. I’m feeling that I’ll then do another half stone before maintenance. So, at my current (very slow) rate of loss it’ll take a long time!
I really need to focus on strength training. I’ve just finished listening to Dr Andy Galpin’s podcast The workout that builds muscle, boosts your brain and slows down aging. It confirms that it’s where I need to put my efforts now. I listened to it on Spotify but it’s also on the Zoe podcast website. I also listened to Dr Jack Moseley Food Noise - didn’t think much of that tbh.
For those of you who are on a maintenance programme with your provider would it seem reasonable that I contact them once I’ve lost another 7lbs and am at the healthy BMI with another 7 lbs to go (which I want to do to give me some wriggle room). I’m with Oushk. At the moment I think I’m planning to stay on it at a low dose (too scared to stop to be honest as I don’t trust myself even with all the new habits and small portion sizes).
I can’t believe I’m just at the point of starting to think about the next steps!

Afternoon all

W28D1
SW 17'10
CW 14'9

1 pound loss this week after an afternoon weigh in as I have been away for the weekend, so I am happy with that!

1st week of 15mg also today so will see how that goes.

Well done everyone!

KolaKoalaKan · 06/05/2025 10:08

Thanks for your support everyone. I’ve now got some horrible lurgy - first time I’ve been ill since being on Mounjaro. I guess no surprise due to the stress but urgh, please can this horrible ride stop?!

if you’re not yet at goal weight (I’ve still got 2.5 stone to go) but you’ve got clothes issues, what are you doing? I am mostly wearing one new pair of jeans and then making do with tops that are way too big. I’m thinking I’m going to have to buy some more midway items. Maybe from Vinted.

Letshavetea1 · 06/05/2025 10:49

@KolaKoalaKan I’m the same - one new pair of jeans, one pair of cropped trousers and some new smaller t shirts and a cardigan. That way I can look okay without spending a fortune.

Bluenose1966 · 06/05/2025 13:10

@KolaKoalaKan So sorry to hear about your mum, it sounds very traumatic and exhausting. Hope you feel better soon. Glad the MJ continues to work.

@lapuf Sending best wishes for a speedy recovery.

@HansHolbein Many congratulations on the massive weight loss, you really are half of your former self. You must feel like a different person.

Wow @Fizzleawayyy1 Brilliant transformation, it’s only when looking at photos we sometimes realise the huge difference.

@Letshavetea1 Thanks, I have heard Andy Galpin on a few podcasts, will listen to the one you suggested. Sounds good re booking maintenance call when about 7lb away. Think Oushk are booked up until end of July so take that account when booking your appointment.

Week 9 of maintenance. 9st 5lb so very consistent. However need to keep an eye on myself as have had some cravings this week and succumbed to crisps and chocolate twice of an evening and just generally felt hungrier. I am going to be on a maintenance dose for life as I don’t think I can keep the weight off without MJ.
Weight training twice this week as well as daily 4 mile walks with dog, very lucky as two minutes from my home is Natural England woodland which makes walking a pleasure.
Going to jab tonight as leave house at 5am tomorrow for Lake Garda, weather forecast is rain and thunderstorms.
I have used the online style tips from a personal stylist recommended somewhere on Mumsnet - Melissa Murrell. Has made me re-evaluate my whole style and hopefully modernise it. Travelling tomorrow in beige cargo trousers, a white T-shirt and a boxy cream cardigan and my cheapo off white Peacocks trainers. Feel co-ordinated for once😂

Fizzleawayyy1 · 06/05/2025 13:54

@KolaKoalaKan Feel better soon. I have about 2 stone to go still and iv lost over 4st at the moment, clothing wise i had some smaller stuff so im fitting into some of that.
around the house though I'm still wearing leggings and oversized jumpers/tshirts.

@Bluenose1966 Have a lovely time in lake garda! glad you are still maintaining, I think we all get hungrier weeks sometimes!

Fizzleawayyy1 · 06/05/2025 14:01

Hope everyone has had a nice BH weekend.

Decorating all done but a house has come up in our area we reallllly like the look of... however we weren't going to look to move until next year ... going to have a chat with the husband tonight and see what we think. It would mean we would need to declutter and spruce up very quickly and I don't know if i got it in me!

Letshavetea1 · 06/05/2025 18:18

@Bluenose1966 well done on the maintenance. Thanks so much for the heads up on booking maintenance appt well ahead! Have a lovely time in Lake Garda - it’s beautiful there.
@Fizzleawayyy1 i think you should go for it. Do you have a garage? If so, shove clutter in there and dress the rooms for the sale pics. I did this and it worked when we put our house on the market rather quickly after seeing our new home first. At least the decorating is done. It’s amazing what you can do with some new towels and cushions, flowers etc! Then once the offer is in keep the house clean and tidy (har I know) as buyers want to come round repeatedly in my experience to measure (be nosy) etc! I was absolutely ruthless then with decluttering!

HansHolbein · 06/05/2025 19:25

@recklessgran Baby sounds delightful! Have you been to the baby show yet? Took my son there as a baby and got so many free bits! Probably not quite the same now, 15 years later! Did you inject again? Is all all going ok?

@LumionaMoonsplash Lovely update and pleased your plateau has been broken!

@Mrsmajeeka Glad you had a wonderful holiday! Those few pounds will be off in no time. The treats will have been well worth it!

@TheChosenTwo I'm so happy for you. All these years we've been struggling with this condition and now we have a treatment. I'm sure it won't be long until the medical people connect the dots and realise that this WORKS for PCOS. So very happy for you.

@lickycat Gosh, I feel the same. Agree with everything you've written. Everything feels possible now. We all deserve it so much. Do you think you realised how 'trapped' you were? I've only just started realising that I had no idea what kind of prison I was living in. I thought my life was fine... I didn't appreciate how much my weight was holding me back.

@Fizzleawayyy1 I've never stepped foot in a gym in my life! I am active day to day and I do some workouts at home. I've got no intention of going to or joining a gym. It just isn't for me. I will swim in the summer and I've played a bit of tennis so far. You look beautiful in your pictures - both of them! Love that blue dress. Annoying about the small loss. I get that over my period. Very fucking annoying when you've been working hard at it all week, then not seeing a result. Interesting situation about the house... will you at least go and have a look? You'll get the moving bug then!

@KolaKoalaKan I am truly sorry to read that. What a horrible time for you all. Are you ok? Is mum ok? On a more positive note, your update is amazing! So many health benefits. You must be feeling great. I love reading peoples health updates. Wonder drug. So sorry you feel like crap, ugh! Run down or change of season maybe?!

@exhaustedandwholly Well done you on getting to goal! Thank you for the tips!

@lapuf Sorry I missed your surgery day! I hope it all went well. Are you feeling ok? Hope you're being looked after at home and the pain is manageable. Remember someone on here said that you wee out of the fat, so make sure you drink a ton!

@icantgetnosheep1 OMG what a find! It must have been like Christmas for you! Lots there in your update... lots to think about and consider but you have the right mindset. You can do anything really. New body, new job, new house, new life... sounds quite exciting. I wouldn't say I've had negative comments but I have been told I don't need to lose anymore... someone said last week I will look haggard! I think people were so used to seeing me fat that they cannot comprehend that this might be the new me. Some of your comments will be rooted in jealousy, but that will absolutely be about them. Fuck 'em! Dare I ask how the meeting went today?

@EVK sounds like the right decision for now, and you always have that bit spare if you need to start again. Re UPF... I haven't had any really for the time I've been on MJ but I did have a bit of chocolate over easter and boy did I know about it. I wanted more for days. I think you're right about avoiding it.

@Letshavetea1 Pffff doing it the hard way! Piss off! I tried doing that for 20 years and guess what... STILL FAT! Glad that 7.5 is treating you well. Thinking about maintenance... can't believe we are having these conversations! Would never have dreamed it was possible back in October.

@DeltaAlphaDelta79 A loss after a weekend away is a total win! Well done. Please let us know how 15 goes. I think I will be ordering it this week. Scared though as there's nowhere else to go after that, but we'll see.

@Bluenose1966 Thank you. I can't believe this is me. Have a wonderful holiday. Your airport outfit sounds divine! Week 9 of maintenance give us all inspiration. You sound very active so I am sure this is helping. Have a drink for us all!

@Mincepieinthesky Hope all is okay with you <3

@Losingthetimber Where the bloody hell are you?!

Nothing to report my end. Feel like it's been weeks of bank holidays?! I'm not complaining but I am forgetting what day it is and I am behind with some work stuff. We are having solar panels installed this week and there's loads of people here. Plus the decorator and some other people. I've hidden the kettle. I am not making 500 cups of tea a day.

I'm 10st 4lbs so lost about 1lb this week. It is really slowing down but that is ok. 9st feels light years away... we'll see if that ever happens lol. I'm feeling good and have some lovely clothes. I am kind of glad that I can't buy anything from Marks + S at the moment... I'll have no money left.

Love to all x

OP posts:
DeltaAlphaDelta79 · 06/05/2025 20:01

@HansHolbein it absolutely is a win. I'll keep you posted. I've luckily not had any significant side effects yet, mainly the odd bout of nausea and feeling cold at most doses, so I am not expecting worse on 15. But will see how it goes.

recklessgran · 07/05/2025 07:43

@HansHolbein yes, still here, still hanging on. Feeling a bit disheartened as am currently in a stall that I can't seem to get out of. I'm currently on 4 mgs but will be going up to 4.25mgs this weekend. Still managing to keep going though with minimal side effects.
We're off to the baby show on Friday - so looking forward to doing that with DD3 and DD5. We're also meeting DD4 for lunch at a "halfway between us" pub on Sunday so we're really looking forward to catching up with her then too. [She's a trauma surgeon and as such pretty tricky to pin down.]
Keep going everyone!

Mincepieinthesky · 07/05/2025 10:01

@HansHolbein 10st 4 is amazing! I’m good thank you finally reached my target this morning, 5.5 stone lost and a bmi of 23.1 so bit of a buffer.
I’m sitting at 11st 8 but I’m 5’11 and think much more and I’ll look a bit gaunt. I have 1 pen left so will do a half dose and then stop completely and see how I go without it.

Looking forward to the summer for the first time, mostly because I’m still freezing but also because I won’t be sweating in layers of black.

Well done to all 😊

igivein · 07/05/2025 10:52

Well I'm back from two weeks in Florida. Tried to make good choices, but it's so hard over there, and i was on holiday so there were a few treats.
I weighed yesterday morning (first full day back) and I've lost a pound whilst I've been away!!!
I'm counting that as a significant win, as my aim had been to try and limit the damage whilst away so it wouldn't be too disheartening having to re-lose several pounds when I got back. Woohoo!

TheChosenTwo · 07/05/2025 22:00

Feeling like I may have reached a status quo, don’t seem to be able to shift anything and feels like it’s been that way for a while.
11.5st now down from 16 but the same pound seems to have gone and off now for about 6 weeks! I think I had a week where I lost 4lbs in one go but i wonder if I’m just naturally at the right weight for my body. My bmi is at 25.2 so almost at a ‘healthy’ weight but I’ve always said that I use that as more of a guide than a hard and fast rule.
Have ordered my next pen to be 12.5 but unsure if I want to use it now, I’ve got my appetite and approach to food to a good point now and I’m able to look forward to and enjoy meals although eat less and can now exercise some restraint, but still while taking 10mg.
Got one last dose of 10mg to go so plenty of time to decide. Think I’d definitely lost more if I moved up but not sure it’s the right thing to do!

Fizzleawayyy1 · 08/05/2025 09:29

@igivein losing a lb in Florida is amazing, we went a few years ago and I gained 10lbs!! we did go for 23 days though (trying to make myself feel better ha ha)

I always seem to gain weight reallllly quickly if I go off plan but I always seem to lose it all really quickly too if I get straight back on it.

@letshavetea @HansHolbein I think we are going for it, bit crappy timing wise though as we are away from tomorrow until Monday on holiday and our toilet was leaking a couple of weeks ago and we have a all in one unit type thing, we had to break it to get to the leak so the bathroom looks trashed!! We have bought a new unit and it should be here tomorrow (hopefully before we go away) so getting that fixed next week. I'm also going to take Tuesday off and declutter ... hopefully get it on the market by the end of next week and then book a viewing.
Dont think I will get a moving bug though! haha I absolutely hated moving from the last house to my current one. The stress of actually packing everything was enough to put me off for life ha ha

@DeltaAlphaDelta79 How are you finding 15mg?

@recklessgran Don't feel disheartened. Stalls are normal. Have you tried anything to get out of it? enjoy your full weekend!!
