@recklessgran So glad you’re ok. I wonder how your new granddaughter is? I’m sure you’re enjoying lots of cuddles 🥰

@Fizzleawayyy1 That came around quickly! I can’t keep up with who has been away and who hasn’t! I get exactly the same around that time of the month. I start thinking about what is in the cupboard. I’m managed to resist so far…

What is everyone up to this bank holiday weekend? We are going away for the weekend. My son will stay with Granny because he can’t be seen in public with us at the moment. We are far too embarrassing!

Oh @HansHolbein DGD is beyond gorgeous - she's a beautiful child altogether with big blue eyes and a thick mop of dark hair. She's just like a little doll, tiny - under 12 pounds at 4 months old but yeah, we're in love and enjoying her so much! And to add to that on Mother's Day DD4 gave me a mother's day card with a scan pic inside - they're having a little boy in October after 3 losses last year so my cup absolutely is overflowing with baby joy now. Now looking forward to accompanying two of my 5 DD's to the Baby show at NEC next week and feel so lucky. Sorry for derailing the thread!

LumionaMoonsplash · 29/04/2025 10:24

I'm happy that my plateau seems to have gone now and the losses are regular again. I've been on 15mg for a few weeks now.

Heaviest Weight: 15st5
MJ SW: 13st4
CW: 11st4

Officially 2 st down on MJ as of today, it's been slow but so worth it. 4 stone down from my heaviest point 2yrs ago. I've had to buy all new bras now my boobs have shrunk. I have a family funeral (sadly) this week but it'll be interesting seeing family I've not seen for years now that I'm smaller. Finally I'm not the fat relative anymore.

AnneinEdinburgh · 29/04/2025 17:04

@recklessgran that is such lovely news, congratulations!

xx

Mrsmajeeka · 29/04/2025 17:18

Hi everyone, I’m still here, am back from holiday now and pleased to report only 4lb gain which I will attribute to daily frozen daquiries! I didn’t jab while I was away but don’t think I went overboard eating and long haul flights make you retain weight I'm sure! I had a new pen delivered today so will stay back on it tomorrow. I had reached healthy BMI just before I went so am slightly over again but hopefully won’t take too long to get back into it. I only ever stayed on the lowest dose so no issues with restarting. I have had a few treats the last few days but think it’s psychological knowing I’ll be getting back on it soon! Another 7-10lb I think and then I’ll try and maintain.

@recklessgran such lovely baby news 😊 and everyone else great news on sticking to it and doing so well.

How are you finding 15 @LumionaMoonsplash? I’m supposed to start next week, but still feeling the 12.5 very strongly. Maybe I’ll ease up to 15 by taking a couple of in between doses. 🤔

TheChosenTwo · 29/04/2025 21:50

@HansHolbein my PCOS symptoms have all but disappeared. Good framing of the mindset to see this as a medication to treat it really.
im down 4.5 stone since the end of October and know that if I stop the medication the hormones will tip back and the weight will come back on. So maintenance for life/as long as possible is the only way for me to regulate a healthy body weight and keep my symptoms under control.
It’s been phenomenal.
Sitting at 11.5 stone, BMI 25.4 (started at exactly 35 and 16 stone), I’m just blown away.
There are so many benefits and not one negative in my mind.

The 15mg isn't too bad. I have increased the dosage every time. My appetite is very low. I'm eating but often leaving food halfway through. I couldn't finish a banana earlier. I tend to have a little nausea the first couple of days, I jab in the evening to avoid the worst of it. I get a bit of heartburn too but it's manageable.

This is how I feel! It’s like a miracle and I’d happily stay in it forever. I’m not getting any significant side effects but getting so many benefits. I started at 35bmi too, but my weight loss has been slower than yours. I’m almost at overweight now, and I’ll celebrate once I get into that category 😂. My heartburn (pre Mj) has stopped. My blood pressure has fallen (I was being monitored for high bp prior to Mj), I am more mobile (as in I can do movements I couldn’t do 6 months ago), exercise is easier, I’m barely drinking alcohol (got no interest in it), not to mention all the psychological improvements regarding self esteem and confidence and being free from food noise. It’s affected so many areas of my life and improved my wellbeing so much.

Fizzleawayyy1 · 30/04/2025 17:46

Does anyone not work out/go to the gym?

I haven't done anything exercise wise yet and I just hate the gym and the thought of it but I think i need to start! too tone up really.

Fizzleawayyy1 · 30/04/2025 18:09

Found some pics on my phone and couldn't believe how big I was!!
This wasn't even me at my biggest from when I started either.
I remember trying the first dress on and thinking it didn't look too bad but WHAT WAS I THINKING.

Pretty pleased at where I am now considering I still need to shift 2 stone!

Congratulations, @Fizzleawayyy1 !

My “after” photo looks like your “before” but I had a BMI of 43. However, I’m wearing a pair of capri pants I haven’t been able to wear in 12 years and am down 2 sizes in everything - and 3 in a few things.

KolaKoalaKan · 01/05/2025 07:24

Hello everyone
My goodness it’s been an age since I checked on here. Basically, life has been a bucketload of hard! My mum was in a serious car accident in March - coma for weeks, now awake but not really ‘there’, serious brain injury. It was a dangerous driver so there’s been all sorts around that. She lives 3 hours from me and I have neurodiverse teens still at home, one of whom hasn’t coped well at all with me being absent for a while, so er yeah, it’s been and is exhausting and I’m being pulled from pillar to post.

But in it all mounjaro has kept being bloody amazing! Remarkably, despite some seriously poor diet for a few weeks while I was literally spending hours at mum’s bedside then back to her house to get on top of it and shut it up so I could manage things from a distance, eating take out and Costa toasties, I’ve continued to lose weight! I have tipped from obese to overweight BMI. My diabetes results have halved! My liver disease is obviously improving as my most recent bloods were normal! My blood pressure has gone from high to normal! My adenomyosis, endo and PCOS symptoms have vanished! Honestly, it really is amazing. I’ve lost 4.5 stone and have 3.5 to go.

I haven’t been able to read past messages to catch up on everyone, but I hope everyone is doing well and smashing their goals still.

exhaustedandwholly · 01/05/2025 08:06

Morning everyone! I haven't been in this thread for a loooong time and NC because I can't remember my old name lol. Connotations to anyone hitting their goal or nearing their goal! I've finally hit my goal and been off Mounjaro for 2 months:

Starting Weight: 11st 5
Goal Weight: 8 stone
Current Weight: 7st 9
Height: 5ft

Being on Mounjaro has hands down been the most life changing and positive experience. I've lost nearly 4 stone in 7 months and I'm finally at a healthy weight and no longer fit into size 14 clothes, but size 6!

What worked for me:
I fasted the entire time, I would eat between 12-8 and then not eat until 12 the following day. It was the saving grace for me. I also swapped a big plate for a small plate and went for long walks daily. I upped my protein to make sure I wasn't eating less than I should.

Life after Mounjaro:
It's not been easy, the food noises creeped back in after 4 weeks but it's much easier to maintain and I'm so happy I can finally eat and enjoy the food rather than eating for the sake of it. My stomach has shrunk massively and I can just about eat what's on my small plate, even without Mounjaro. Your appetite comes back very quickly but I've stuck to weighing myself once a week to keep me in check and to make sure I'm not putting the weight back on. My plan is to stay in between 7st 9 - 8st 5 hopefully for the rest of my life. I haven't gained much since being off Mounjaro and actually went under my goal to allow for wiggle room.

Good luck everyone. It's amazing x

Sorry to read about your mum @KolaKoalaKan. it sounds really hard. I’m so pleased for you that you’ve been able to continue losing weight, because it’s often hard times like you’re going through now that can completely derail any progress already made. Good for you.

EVK · 02/05/2025 06:24

@KolaKoalaKan so sorry to hear about your mum and the impact that’s having on your family too. Amazing that you’ve managed to keep on track through it all, testament to your strength and resilience Im sure. Make sure you take care of yourself.

Great news for you and wow what incredible weight loss! Well done on first 4 weeks off MJ - I’ve noticed I’m able to eat more on 5mg now and need to maybe get a smaller plate too! Although I don’t need to lose any more and seem to be maintaining with portion increase-
so maybe that’s a good thing?! I don’t really eat refined carbs and fill my plate with veggies!

lapuf · 02/05/2025 07:40

Hi October squad 👋
Thanks for remembering @HansHolbeinsurgery is today Confused so I’ve been off MJ for a bit to prepare and still just around 9st 3-4, negligible amount left in my system but food noise etc isn’t too bad as still avoiding wheat and upfs most of the time so I think I should be ok maintaining without it. I would like to lose a few more but 9st is arbitrary! I have one pen left so debating whether to use it.

recklessgran · 02/05/2025 08:44

@lapuf good luck - thinking of you this morning.

lapuf · 02/05/2025 08:48

Thanks @recklessgranthe nurse walked in so I hit post early! Lovely updates from you on your family Smile
@KolaKoalaKansorry about your mum, sending solidarity
@exhaustedandwholly congratulations in getting to goal!
@Fizzleawayyy1 I’ve only ever been a sporadic exerciser but I booked in with a Personal Trainer in Jan for some group sessions and got ideas for exercises to do at home, I have hand weights (1/2/3kg) and they do the job with squats and lunges etc

lickycat · 02/05/2025 13:33

Good luck @lapuf
