Morning all. Guess what… 8st 7!! I’ve done it 🙅‍♀️ today for the first time in 6 years I’m at the weight I’m comfortable with. Wk 3 of no jabs just mindful eating - post surgery. I’m absolutely thrilled to see that number on the scales today!!

HansHolbein · 17/04/2025 13:34

@lapuf The best NSV!

@icantgetnosheep1 Omggggg! Yes! Amazing! You’ve done it 🥳 so happy for you!

Hey all, looking for some advice before I throw the towel in completely I am on my 2nd 12.5mg pen (bonus shot being taken this weekend) and for the last 6 weeks I have remained the same. No difference in calorie intake or anything else since I started, still do gym 3 x a week. Just do not understand it. I have 7lbs to go to hit my comfortable target but now unless anyone can help I seriously feel maybe it's not going to help any longer and I may as well save money. I am so upset as cannot for the life of me work this out. Do I move up to 15 as a last shot? I feel a 6 week plateu is a long time. Advice welcome please

MissMarvelMum · 17/04/2025 21:09

@Gilly1C
i read about your body having a ‘set point’ after every 10% and you will stall for about 6 weeks then your body will lose again? It happened to me twice now. First when I lost 10% then when I lost almost 10% again. I started 212lb, first stall when I lost 21lb and high made me 191. Then I dropped another 19lb and stalled which made me 172. I started moving again 2 weeks ago and now I’m 168.only 3lb to go til I’m healthy bmi! It’s brutal but hen the scales are not going down but I just kept telling myself thank god they aren’t going up! And I’m not eating how I usually would! Good luck

Anyone had Botox? I am not happy with my neck sagging and debating Botox! Is it worth the price? (hahaha I know after spending so much on MJ)

I have botox (although not in my neck). Iv had it for years as prevention. I turned 35 in Jan and iv had it since I was 27. I actually had my last lot 3 weeks ago. I used to have it in 2 areas (forehead and elevens) but Iv just started going up to 3 areas so it now includes my eyes.

WORTH EVERY PENNY!!

Fizzleawayyy1 · 17/04/2025 22:04

@icantgetnosheep1 well done!! amazing... bet you look great!

@Gilly1C Have you tried dropping calories at all? the smaller you are the less you can have maybe? Have you tried having a splurge day? so eat a higher amount of calories for a day or 2 to trick your body and then go super low... so its the same amount of calories for the week but eaten differently.
I do this and it always works for me.

Hey, thank you for replying, aye I have reduced calorie intake and also tried an increase for a few days albeit difficult lol I have gone through this whole process not experiencing a stall, although may be mad I am starting to think maybe just maybe this is all I am going to get to and need to accept it LOL

@Gilly1C this is the link about set points. It did make sense to me and I’m glad I held out. It’s super frustrating especially when you pay for a pen for a month and there is no change! I held onto the fact I could have easily put on a stone in that 6 weeks and I never. I do also worry that my current weight is maybe what I’m just ment to be. But I’m still too flabby to settle!! 🤣 I’m not done yet!

Totally ! I’ve been the same all the way through and the closer I’ve got to my goal the slower things have been. The ‘set point’ is a definite scientific fact and it can take many months for your body to adjust- they even say years in reality which is why putting weight back on after losing it is so easy to do - the body is desperately trying to get back to its heaviest set point and then likes to add some more !! Which is the source of the yo-yo dieting, lose some and put on more scenario we are all familiar with! This is why consistency over time is the only way to do this. Over time really does mean making life changing habits to sustain the new you! We can do it and the science helps, I find as it embeds the reality of how and why life style and healthy eating is the way to achieve the happy, healthy us! MJ is a tool - a marvellous tool for galvanising those habits- new habits take a long time to become routine. @icantgetnosheep1 wow 🤩 so happy for you reaching your goal and without MJ you’re maintaining which is just so inspiring 🙌 basically those habit changes are sticking which is what we’re all aiming for. 🤩
I’ve noticed my portion sizes creeping up so need to be mindful of that. I too have reached my goal 8.7lbs (just!) but was 8.6lbs earlier in the week and then 8.8! But that’s cool - I’m happy and I’ve made it. Now the real work begins !! Staying here as I taper down. Happy Easter everyone 🩷

HappyNewt · 18/04/2025 09:59

I have definitely experienced 2 set point stalls in weightloss at (what it turns out to be) 10% down each time...
But both stalls have also come at times when outside influences mean I have taken my focus off the weight loss..

I've had a lot of stuff on in the last month and at the start of it I had set myself a new 'kick up the bum' date of after the BH weekend....final push for me....last 10kg or so...really focused.... not thinking about how pleased i am about how well I have done so far or being tricked into relaxing by how well my smaller clothes fit...there is still a way to go!!!

Each reset for me, needs to come with an adjustment of intake, focus on exercise and hydration. I've also re read the set point info and I have the jack moseley book on order too. I have a lymph drainage massage booked as a treat and I'm back in a good headspace now I've done what needed to be done over the last couple of weeks...

Full steam ahead for the final push reassured by the fact that MJ really has helped with better habits and mindset around what I need to do long term with regard to food, exercise and hydration.

Keep going everyone and thanks again for all of your updates!

You’ll definitely get there with your positive approach, keeping up some reading on the subject has always helped me and knowing I’m not in a diet but changing the way I relate to food, rewards and pleasure !! The hydration element is so important and an easy one to forget when you’re busy - I’ve had to re-set that one a few times. I find having a vessel filled in the morning which I know I have to drink really helps and when I neglect to do that I also forget to drink as much.
I’ve been going to bed earlier and getting up earlier too - easier now spring is here - I do think that has helped as less time sitting around in the evening and somehow feels more healthy than staying up late. Actually read somewhere at some point that late nights produce hunger hormones ? Anyway - blah, blah! Just wanted to say ‘go for it @HappyNewt ’ 🙌

TheChosenTwo · 19/04/2025 10:18

So after putting on 1lb last week due to a splendid week of overindulge I lost 5lbs this morning.
SW: 16st
CW: 11st 7lbs
BMI: 25.2
So close to a healthy bmi; unbelievable!

Bluenose1966 · 19/04/2025 10:53

Oh well done @icantgetnosheep1 and @TheChosenTwo MJ definitely feels like a miracle to me after years of failed and yo-yo diets.

7th week of maintenance and stayed exactly same weight as last week at 9st 5.6b
9st 5lb is my new goal weight with a little bit of wriggle room either way, my menopause tummy is still there but hey ho.
I upped my maintenance dose from 2,5mg to 3mg this week to help with suppression, will do the same again this week.

Sold loads on Vinted which is just as well as have bought far more than sold!!!! Couple of things don’t like on me so just relisted them.
Been trying to think a lot more about my “style” based on some personal styler YT videos been watching.
Have ordered some M&S indigo wide leg jeans, cream flat shoes and cream kitten heels as well as a cream blazer off Vinted and some trendy gold coloured jewellery so hoping to look very chic soon😂I am going to try on some wide leg trousers and wide leg loungewear to hopefully modernise me as I tend to live in knee length skirts.

Well finally it's happened, after my 6 week plateu weigh in today - 2lbs, and I am into the 10's now which I am over the moon with. Thank you for the support
SW 14.9
CW 10.13
GW 10.5 (I think for now)

Well done @EVKwe've tagged along this journey together all the way to goal weight.! Isn’t it amazing 🤩

someone came round today I haven’t seen since before Christmas and she couldn’t believe the weight loss. To me it’s been progressive over the months but I guess if you haven’t seen me in months it’s a bit of a shock 😆

It sure is an amazing feeling @icantgetnosheep1 we have been very closely following each other down the scales! Now for maintaining the good work. What’s your plan? So glad you’re on the move again @Gilly1C 🙌 @Bluenose1966 grest to hear your maintenance is going so well / are you going to stay on 2.5-3mg long term ? Or tapering off? @TheChosenTwo wow - 5lbs!! What a drop 👍

igivein · 20/04/2025 08:51

Weigh-in and jab for me today before I fly out to Florida tomorrow. God only knows what what damage I’ll inflict in the land of UPF and massive portions. I’m hoping to stay more or less the same, but whatever happens I’ll just have to sort it out when I get back. I am going to jab normally whilst there, so I shouldn’t go completely mad.
The only positives are it’ll be hot and I never want to eat as much when it’s hot, and the chocolate’s disgusting.
Oh, and I might not be quite so much of a hot and sweaty mess as I’m not carrying all that extra weight around with me (nearly forgot that one! 😂)

SW 20st 2lbs
CW 14st 10lbs

(I am looking forward to this holiday, honest - I just don’t want to undo any of the good work)

lickycat · 20/04/2025 09:40

Have a lovely time @igivein. I’m just back from holiday and managed to keep on track of losing (I’m losing really slowly though, so only 1lb, but that’s been my average weekly loss since the start). I had a vague plan in my head of not ruining the holiday by not trying new foods, but also being sensible with portions and also making sure we did lots of active stuff while away (swimming, walking etc). The 12.5 has really kicked in, so suppression has been really good, which obviously helps with staying in control.

So I think I’m week 26
sw: 14st 13.2lb
cw: 13st 0.6lb
Total loss: 1st 12.6lb (or almost 27lb so average 1lb per week)

So ridiculously happy with the scales moving downwards for the first time in a decade. I’m now at the weight I was 8 years ago - spent a bit of time this morning looking at past weight data rather than eating Easter eggs 😂 - but got another few years of poor eating to address to get back to a healthy weight.

recklessgran · 20/04/2025 10:54

Morning all. Sorry I've been AWOL but I 've been having a bit of a rough time health wise and as a result had to take a couple of weeks off. You may remember that last time I posted I'd had a massive loss [well, massive for me!] of 4.5lbs which coincided with me having been prescribed a new diuretic medication to try to control my blood pressure. Well, to cut a long story short it transpired that the drug was in fact a gift from Satan and had made me very unwell and seriously dehydrated with a dangerously low sodium level and a heart rate exceeding 120. It's taken me a couple of weeks to stabilise after a rather scary time but I'm back on track now, so, current stats;
S.W. 15st 7lbs
CW 13st 11llbs
Planning on staying on 4mgs this week while I continue to recover but if all goes well I'll increase to 4.25mgs next week. Great reading all your triumphs.
Happy Easter and enjoy your well deserved chocolate [if you decide to indulge!]

Mysticmaiden · 20/04/2025 23:24

Hello all its been a while since I've posted.
SW 13st 1lbs/83kg bmi 32.4
CW 10st 12.5lbs/69kg bmi 27.0

Its taken 6.5 long months to get here with an average loss of 1lb a week consistently apart from 3 small week long plateaus, until last week I lost 2.6lbs, highly unexpected. Don't know if it was the morning protein shakes or the switch to almond milk that helped.

I've booked a maintenance consultation with oushk in around 5 weeks time. I'm in 2 minds about this, firstly it's great to finally get close to then end but it's been my life for over 6 months so a part of me is worried/afraid of what lies after and how ill handle the transition over to more calories. I do have insulin resistance so I think I may stay on a lower dose, currently on 10mg about to go upto 12.5mg, and obviously concerns over putting on weight after.
I won't miss how exhausted I feel on it, which got worse as the dose went up. Its probably due to my low calories too, 1200 deficit which i often ate less than.
Lovely as always to read everyone's posts and seeing the losses. Keep it up everyone!

EVK · 21/04/2025 08:42

@recklessgran sorry to hear you’ve had such an awful time and glad you’re back on track now - take it easy . @igivein enjoy your holiday and being control - hopefully you’ll feel empowered 🙌 @lickycat great to hear how positive and happy you are - keep going. @Mysticmaiden i know that concern over slipping backwards during maintenance- it is a worry but I’m telling myself this hasn’t been a diet I’m coming off but a new lifestyle I’ve forged which I can now continue with. I’m hoping that will help put me in the right mindset!! I’m not feeling massive suppression on 5mgs anymore and I’m already aware of watching portion sizes but equally I’m managing to maintain/lose tiny amounts each week so hopefully gradually finding a stable medium. I’m sure they’ll be a time of readjusting and finding the happy place. I’m taking my last bonus dose this week and then I have 1 x 5mg pen which I intend to taper down with. For me now I’m trying to see this as an exciting new part of the journey where I can take full control of my choices and enjoy being medication free (which for me had always been the goal as 1. too expensive to continue indefinitely and 2. I’m too paranoid about long term health implications!) I’ll be glad to be free and just me. The best thing is we have this group to keep us going which is just so supportive and motivating. 🩷
