Additionally - as a side thought. I’ve been toying with the idea of also extending the gaps between doses - instead of every 7days do every 10 days as I go down? Thoughts on a postcard please !

Sounds like a good idea... but don't the pens expire after 30 days? I am also nearing goal weight so am thinking about options like this too!

Bluenose1966 · 14/04/2025 14:52

@HansHolbein Woohoo, many congratulations.

@EVKOn Reddit there are a few who mention spreading out doses with success, have also heard of people doing month on / month off. Think it is an experiment we need to do on on ourselves to find out what works for us. I’m too frightened to come off totally without at least the flex plan as backup, though due to the cost am buying higher dose pens than I need and making them last longer than 30 days, I know this is against prescriber advice but I have not heard of anyone having any issues.
Good luck with your training @EVK that is some walk to do. I am shattered after a 5 mile walk. Who would have thought we would be saying I don’t want to lose anymore weight!!!

@lapuf The Reverse Diet – Basically cos of all the diets we have been on over the years etc our metabolisms have slowed down and some people can’t lose weight or even maintain on as little as 1200 calories. I think my best chance of success is if I can increase my metabolism so I can eat 2000 calories a day as my maintenance calories and not regain weight. I am doing this by eating 120g protein daily and weight training twice per week.
The below explains it better.
On the Reverse Diet, you slowly and strategically
increase your daily food intake with the goal of
boosting your metabolism. Specifically, the diet is
an eating plan that involves gradually increasing
your calories from the right macronutrients—usually
by 50 to 100 calories—over a period of several
weeks or months to reboot your metabolism and
coax your body back into a fat-burning, muscle-
building state. It is also an excellent maintenance
strategy after you’ve lost weight. It helps you ease
back into a normal, healthy eating pattern.

Fizzleawayyy1 · 14/04/2025 16:44

@HansHolbein Well done! You are smashing it! bet you feel great!

@EVK Iv seen a few posts of people saying they go longer between doses and it seems to work. defo something to think about.

@Bluenose1966 I do the same with my pens, I can afford them every month but I see it as a waste weirdly so I take a lower dose from a higher pen. I have 2 x 15mg pens in the fridge unopened.

I'm back! I gained a huge 6lbs while away!! ... Im going to blame most of this on my husband!! My husband is very much into eating out on holiday and what feels like to me is buying/eating food every 5 mins!! Constant snacks!... at the beginning of the holiday I was saying 'no, I'm not hungry etc' but if I'm honest I could see it was kind of ruining his holiday for him!! me constantly saying no and he wouldn't go and eat without me or leave me in the room to go out for a meal!!

I also didn't realise the soft drinks i was drinking the whole time were all full fat!! I'm so used to every soft drink here being zero sugar that it didn't even occur to me I was drinking full fat lemonade or Fanta!😂

I am not bothered though, I'm going to blame most of it on excess salt and water weight.😅 7,5mg was taken yesterday and now iv felt iffy all day so Iv hardly ate at all!! Lets see if I can get this 6lbs off by my weigh in on sat!

icantgetnosheep1 · 14/04/2025 17:00

@HansHolbein 🙅‍♀️🥳🙅‍♀️ AMAZING!!

Mrsmajeeka · 14/04/2025 18:07

@HansHolbein amazing, well done, it’s such good feeling isn’t it!

here’s some great NSVs that I’m experiencing, so I’m currently on holiday in a very hot country that we visited this time last year when I was 3st10lb heavier (my biggest ever and felt it last year). I commented to my husband that I didn’t think it was as hot this time, as last year I’d walk up the road and my back would be sweaty, he said it feels just as hot to him but perhaps because I’ve lost weight it doesn’t feel so hot - didn’t think of that, considering I’ve spent the last few months feeling freezing at home that is probably true!

wore a bikini for the first time in 10 years and didn’t even think about it, walked around without thinking I need to grab cover up, still not skinny malinky but don’t feel gigantic for once.

wearing holiday clothes, bare arms, shorts etc without feeling crap and “that will do”. actually thinking oh I look alright for a change. Still not sure that feeling will go. Caught a glimpse walking past a full length ij my swimming costume and still can’t quite believe it’s me in the reflection. Even when I was thinner in my 20s I don’t think I thought that I was that thin.

also in a country with amazing food, but sticking to 2 meals a day so far, and the food choices are generally good. No snacking. But a few beers so feeling a bit bloated. I haven’t bought any one’s with me so last jab was a week ago. Will see what I weigh when I get home and may or may not order one more pen depending on the outcome. I was 11st4lb the morning we left and would ideally like to get into the mid 10s.

im so pleased for everyone’s progress and how far we’ve come in what feels like not a great deal of time at all!

UtterlyQuackers · 14/04/2025 20:20

@HansHolbein congratulations! Bet that feels amazing!

@EVK never thought of extending the time between doses. Had a maintenance appointment today and they recommended not going cold turkey and tapering back down as I would have been on the highest dose. Which makes sense, but I thought I would just stop. So I am not sure anymore!

I am hoping to be at goal weight by my holiday in the summer and feel okay about wearing swimwear!

Tohaveandtohold · 14/04/2025 21:15

Happy to read everyone’s progress when I check in. Tomorrow will be 2 months since my last Jab. I’m maintaining well, today I weigh 5.6lbs less than my last weigh on the jab and my BMI is 23.9 . For the first time, none of my stats is ‘red’ on my Renpho scale app.
I’m glad I stopped when I did because 2 months in, I can say I have a routine now. I feel hunger but nothing extreme and I just eat and snack right. I’ve rewarded myself with lots of new clothes as well, all these make me know that I just can’t afford to slack.

TheChosenTwo · 14/04/2025 21:36

I’ve lost just over 4 stone in 6 months, 25% of my body weight. In the last month it’s just been a kg loss, so really it was 4 stone in 5 months BUT it has shown me the importance of measurements because this month I’ve seen some great losses in cms with my tape.
more so than in the last couple of months so it’s definitely changing my body shape. Not that I had lost motivation but the scales are creeping down slowly now and it’s great to see those non scale victories still coming.
Well done all, and a massive congrats to @HansHolbein - what a feeling 🥳🥳

Carridoesntlivehereanymore · 14/04/2025 21:44

@HansHolbein that's fantastic! You must be thrilled

I was practically halfway between overweight and healthy this morning, just a pound or two more and I'll be closer to healthy than overweight!

Despite eating and drinking fairly well in Spain, I was so pleased to come back after ten days and not have put any weight on! And I've finally dropped below 12 stone since I got back in Wednesday, it's been about 3 weeks sitting just above or on the 12 stone mark. I could do with a little (big) whoosh just now!

lapuf · 15/04/2025 07:08

Congratulations @HansHolbein! What a feeling Grin

lapuf · 15/04/2025 07:12

To those who have been/are on hols it’s reassuring about minimal/temporary gains, I’m at a lovely AI 5* hotel and the food is amazing, think I’m doing ok as prioritising protein and salad from the buffet. Our soft drinks are sugary ones too but going for Coke Zero where it’s available and alcohol after 4pm Grin
i return on Friday so will see what the scales say, I’ve one more dose in this one, a break for surgery and then one pen to go to get to goal (I was only a few lbs off before I went)
One plus side of the jabs is that lunch was really delayed yesterday due to a walk and I wasn’t hangry like I would be normally!

Mrsmajeeka · 15/04/2025 08:05

@lapuf I think the difference is that this time we know there might only be a few lbs to lose but we have the leeway for it as we’ve already done the bulk of it. I know usually I would be like sod it I’m on holiday I’ll have what I want and then go home and think why did I do that. Even though a few lbs this time would take me back to being overweight on the BMI, it’s not so scary thinking that I’ll struggle to get it off again as I am confident that I will lose anything that I put on (within reason I’m not going crazy!!)

Fizzleawayyy1 · 15/04/2025 10:46

@Mrsmajeeka Sounds like you are having a great time! Its so nice to be able to chuck on clothing and just get on with your day and feel like you look nice! I also work a bikini on holiday and a cut out swimsuit!

@lapuf Enjoy yourself! I drank far too much sprite and Fanta before realising it wasn't zero sugar!! Ours wasn't AI so at times we went for an Italian, Chinese and it was family style, portions were HUGE so we were sharing dishes and I had to go with what the majority wanted....Carb feast! ha

So I weighed this morning after being good for 1 whole day and iv dropped 3lbs already! 😂I think that goes to show how much water some of us can retain quickly (aka, me) and its not real weight. I'm confident I will be back to what I was before I went by sat!

I really just want to be closer to goal now, It feels like loads of people on this thread are at goal or very very close to goal already (and I'm really pleased for you all!!) but tubs over here obviously has more weight to shift and I'm ready to be at goal now😂

daisystone · 15/04/2025 16:48

So 6 months in and I have lost 3 stone 8lbs. I had lost a stone by calorie counting before starting Mounjaro and am now only 4lbs off my goal weight. I honestly can’t believe it. I haven’t been this weight since my 20’s. I am wearing a size 10. I am currently on 12.5mg. My body is sadly not the same as it was in my 20’s though as my skin is not nearly as firm and my stomach is still very podgy. That is probably to do with pregnancy though. It never used to be so distended pre pregnancy. All in all I look and feel so much better. I love being able to wear anything.

UtterlyQuackers · 15/04/2025 19:02

Anyone had Botox? I am not happy with my neck sagging and debating Botox! Is it worth the price? (hahaha I know after spending so much on MJ)

TheChosenTwo · 15/04/2025 20:20

i haven’t @UtterlyQuackers but I do keep seeing my neck in the mirror when I brush my teeth and think it’s looking a bit loose!
Not contemplating Botox though, no shade on anyone who does it, I just think it’s another slippery slope that I’ll have to do forever 😂 I’m quite accepting of taking MJ for as long as I’m allowed to but don’t think I’d want to start down the route of Botox. I think I want another stone and a half off to goal - I can’t see my face losing anymore volume now - it’s always the place I see weight loss or gain the quickest, I’ve accepted that a slight bit of wobbly skin on my neck is the consequence of overeating for years and now losing the weight!
But good luck with it if you do decide to go down that route, I suspect you won’t be alone!!

Bellablahhole · 15/04/2025 20:53

I'm definitely contemplating something @UtterlyQuackers. I've lost 3st 4lb since the beginning of October and now have a BMI of 23.9, so a steady weight loss. I still have around a stone to lose. But I'm 60 and my skin is not responding well - neither on my body nor my face! I don't want to go down the route of loads of fillers and botox......but a little help to soften the lines now rapidly appearing on my face would be good. Just not sure what to go for and how to find a good practitioner.

How strange I’ve been looking at this today.. I had Botox before 2021/2 and it’s amazing stuff! Never on my neck but I’m debating it.

Yessss!! I've also lost 4 stone since October... also 25% of my body weight (well, 24 point something anyway). Well done! Smashing it!

HansHolbein · 16/04/2025 10:38

@icantgetnosheep1 Hope your recovery is going well 🥰 Not long for you now, wow!

@Letshavetea1 Oooo Barbados sounds wonderful. Was it too hot or just right? Always takes a while to get back in the swing of things after a holiday…

@Bluenose1966 Thank you for another brilliant link! Glad you’re still maintaining!

@lapuf Oh no! Hope you’re on the mend?

@LumionaMoonsplash Hope you’re having a lovely time! Enjoy the lovely food.

@EVK Lovely update. You’re so close! I’m so happy for us all. When is the marathon? That is such a kind thing to do. I’ve also been thinking of spacing the doses out. As I get closer to goal I think I could manage 8/9 days.

@TheChosenTwo It happens! I’ve had a couple of weeks like that and I agree with you, no regrets. Has to be done sometimes! 25% is just incredible.

I’m wearing mom jeans and shirts. All from M.&.S. They have some really nice stuff in at the moment.

@igivein You‘ve done soooo well. Your stats are incredible. Have a wonderful time in Florida, you deserve it.

@DeltaAlphaDelta79 Doing great! Let us know how 15 goes? Is anyone else on 15?

@Fizzleawayyy1 Holiday sounds amazing! That few lbs will come off in no time. Well worth it for a holiday lol.

@Mrsmajeeka Your NSV’s are lovely to read. It’s just to be free and go about your day not being aware of yourself, know what I mean? It’s all worth it for stuff like this.

@Tohaveandtohold So happy to read you’re doing well and still maintaining.

@Carridoesntlivehereanymore Amazing! Well done!

@lapuf Hope you’re having an amazing time!

@daisystone That is a lovely update.

@surreygirl1987 Another 25%! Congratulations 🥂

Thank you all so much for your lovely messages. I can’t believe I’ve come this far. Would never have been able to do this without MJ.

What’s everyone’s Easter plans? We are spending time with my husbands family Thurs-Mon, which will be nice. My MIL likes to make lots of food so that will be interesting…

Obviously I’m assuming that it will piss down for the entire time!

Oh for heaven’s sake, just done my weekly jab and noticed quite a bit of liquid ‘leaking’ dribbling out of injection site and a red lump at injection site which I’ve massaged. I’ve drawn up a little more MJ and injected a small amount to counter what I think I’d dropped, Anyone else experienced this? Did I just get my angle wrong?

AnneinEdinburgh · 16/04/2025 21:33

I got that once. I now count to 10 before taking the needle out to avoid it.

lapuf · 17/04/2025 07:36

Super time thanks Hans. I need to invest in some new size 10 shorts though, my 12s fell down yesterday! I’m on day 11 since I jabbed, golden dose and weigh in on Saturday
