Afternoon all, little update from me! No jabs obviously for 2 weeks as I’m recovering from knee surgery. Managed a soak in the bath with my knee hoisted.. and had a cheeky weigh in afterwards. 8tone 8lbs one away from target, happy with that! ☺️

lapuf · 10/04/2025 15:31

Well done sheep! I’m due mine in a couple of weeks, what did you have done?
I’ve been a mess with D&V yesterday and part of today and then came out in hives! No idea what’s going on but assume an allergic reaction to something I’ve eaten rather than the MJ. I had a dodgy stomach a few weeks back too after nothing since week 2/3

icantgetnosheep1 · 10/04/2025 18:04

@lapufI have had a tibial Osteotemy rather than a knee replacement-quite brutal but I’m OK.! Last week is a blur, got through it but the pain was immense. This week I’m still recovering but feeling much better pain wise and getting around on my crutches at home. Even went in the garden today ☺️ if you haven’t already stocked up on a wedge pillow and ice packs I would - they have been a godsend!!

LumionaMoonsplash · 10/04/2025 19:14

I'm on holiday at the moment, brought MJ with me but didn't realise it was the golden dose 🙄 and don't have an syringe. Never mind, I'll have to take it when I'm back on Sunday and then reset back to my usual day after that. I've been a little more lax on the diet than usual, ( lots of wine and cider) but way more restrained than I would be on a normal holiday and we've done loads of walking which should help not pile on the lbs.

EVK · 11/04/2025 08:07

@icantgetnosheep1 your operation sounds tough and I know the rehab for knees takes time but hopefully, eventually you’ll feel fantastic. Great news that you’re so close to goal and that the inactivity, lack of MJ in your system hasn’t set you back - that’s a huge achievement. I hope that pain eases away soon. @Bluenose1966 thank for the link to that study - it made for very positive reading and has made me think that slowly tapering off is a good idea - also really interesting about about low doses. I for one am still on 5mg (started MJ October 5th) and didn’t even think about eating yesterday until 5pm! Was busy, long walk and in the garden so just had water and coffee till evening meal! Guess that means suppression is still good. I find it comes and goes but I’m cool with that. I like that when I eat I enjoy my food and no longer want to push it away after a few mouth fulls! I guess we all know that in the long run this is all about building healthy sustainable habits and good to see the research bears that out - MJ is a great tool to help us make the changes. Happy, sunny Friday everyone.

I weighed in today and I’m 8.9 1/4lbs. It’s taken a couple of weeks to lose 1 lb but I’m alright with that - my loss has slowed right down but then I’m so close now. My original target was 8.10 but like, I seem to remember @icantgetnosheep1 and @Bluenose1966, Ive now revised it slightly and I’m going for 8.8 - 8.7 to give myself some wriggle room as it feels well into the 8’s - which is where I aim to stay. Going up to 9 used to set alarm bells with me and then somehow over the years that alarm didn’t start ringing until I was over 11!!! I am determined not to go back there ever again. So I guess I’m two pounds off - I’m going to start tapering with my last 5mg pen and make it last longer and keep a 2.5mg in the fridge over the summer in case I feel I need some help!! May do the Oushk maintenance payment for a while to give me confidence too. I’m aiming to lose the last two lbs while tapering off and/or under my own steam. Will probably take me 4-6 weeks to get there now - then I aim to keep it off - the hardest bit but I know others are doing it . We can do it 🙌

UtterlyQuackers · 11/04/2025 09:21

Hey everyone!!

Lots to catch up on! Been flat out at work and then fully thrown myself into half term!

Hope everyone is well?

I have just done the stupidest thing on MJ so far. Drew up the bonus dose from my 12.5 mg. Very pleased with the 0.78ml I got. If I have done my maths correctly I have just done 16.25mg. It did not occur to me to check before I did it.

Send laxatives!!

EVK · 11/04/2025 15:59

I can’t remember the maths for working it out ?! Hope you’re ok!! Just watch your blood sugar levels I guess and make sure you eat regularly!!

EVK · 11/04/2025 16:00

Is 0.6 ml a full dose ?

UtterlyQuackers · 11/04/2025 16:49

Yes 0.6ml is a full dose. Maths is: what you got out/0.6 X strength.

So 0.78/0.6 x 12.5

I rang my GP friend and she said the official advice would be go to hospital. She said the same as you @EVK thank you. Keep an eye on blood sugar levels and eat little and often, as I have had no real side effects before and don't be so fucking stupid in future.

It did not occur to me that 12.5mg would push me over the next dose. It doesn't for any other strength. Obviously will not be doing any more than 0.6ml of 15mg!

Golden dosers!! Hear my warning!!

Honestly I feel so bloody stupid! Xx

UtterlyQuackers · 11/04/2025 16:52

While talking with my friend she asked if I was sure that I actually got that much out and to be honest it was early and I only glanced at the syringe. She said that more than likely was less as the plunger on the syringe was black I probably looked at where the plastic bit ended and not the end of the plunger.

EVK · 11/04/2025 22:22

Well bless you @UtterlyQuackers ive been thinking about you - glad you have a knowledgeable friend to get advice from. Hope you’ll be ok, with no bad side effects ! but yeah - not something you want to be worrying about so as you say ‘golden dosers’ beware!

UtterlyQuackers · 12/04/2025 07:44

Thank you for thinking of me @EVK!

Still okay here xx

TheChosenTwo · 12/04/2025 08:14

Put on a pound this week, first time in the 6 months I’ve been on MJ that I’ve gained! Totally deserved, I’ve been living it up and eaten out a lot in the last week and probably drunk more this week than I have in the last 6 months.
But the holiday is over and normal life resumes today. No regrets, I’ve really enjoyed myself although I’m really looking forward to going back to my normal this week.

TheChosenTwo · 12/04/2025 08:19

One thing I did want to ask is… what is everyone wearing?! It was really warm yesterday and I had bought myself a long denim skirt, wore it with a tshirt. But I have no other appropriate warm weather clothes that fit.
I mean I’m not expecting the nice weather to last, looks like this week is going to be overcast and a bit rainy here so I’ll be back in my normal warmer clothes but I’ve got no idea what suits me anymore.
Struggling to find things online that are good options. Have ordered a couple of pairs of those light loose stripy trousers but the models were wearing them with sleeveless shirts, my upper arms aren’t coming out so they’re a big no for me. Still not comfortable with anything above the knee unless I’m away on holiday either. 4 st 4lbs down, I’m in a size 12 top and bottom, feeling a bit stuck. Any ideas anyone?!

UtterlyQuackers · 12/04/2025 08:52

I've been on Vinted and have got a few nice floaty dresses with sleeves. Loving Joe Brown a bit more casual and Phase Eight for work.

So far I’ve stuck with new jeans that fit and I’ve been tucking in tops that are now way too big. Got a holiday coming up in August and really don’t know when to start buying clothes, I’ve got 4 months to go, but don’t want to miss all the nice summer clothes.

Bluenose1966 · 13/04/2025 10:30

Morning all.
Thunk it is my 6th week of maintenance and stayed at 9st 5.6lb. I am now considering reducing my goal weight to 9st 5lb from 9st 7lb, which was previously 9st 10lb!!!
I reduced my dose from 5mg to 2.5mg last week which I think explains why I have felt hungrier and impulsively had chocolate or crisps most evenings. However I have not eaten more than 1700 calories a day so think that has helped me not put weight on plus 4mile daily walks and 2 strength training sessions. I am currently reverse dieting with the aim to increase my metabolism so I can eat 2000 calories a day without weight gain.
Although I have eaten over 110g protein each day I am not eating as clean as I should. Need to get back on it and eat more fibre to fill me up.
Thanks for the warning @UtterlyQuackers . I nearly did something similar a few weeks ago but realised just before i injected.
@TheChosenTwo I am struggling what to wear, not helped that the weather is a bit chargeable. I have bought a couple of nice Seasalt knee length denim and cord skirts off Vinted which I am wearing with thin ribbed jumpers at moment snd some knee length dresses. I also bought some M&S shorts from Vinted in a 12 but they are shapeless and baggy so will be reselling. On the Style section this YTber was recommended as she styles all different body sizes. Have watched about 10 of her videos and really impressed by how she improves their "look"

Seriously considering going to John Lewis for a Style consultation as dont think my style has changed much since my 20s.!!! My friend who is really trendy said I should get some floaty trousers, so will do that.

Just listened to this podcast, was quite interesting re motivation/ depression while on GLP-1. YT link below

Weigh and jab day.
Bit of a weird one because only 1lb off (was 2lbs earlier in the week but I’ve regained a pound for reasons unknown) which is disappointing, but gone under 15 stone which is brilliant.

SW 20st 2lb
CW 14st 13lb

One more weigh in next Sunday before I go on holiday for a fortnight. I’ll try and eat well whilst I away, but I’ll be in Florida, which isn’t exactly famous for healthy eating…

lapuf · 13/04/2025 14:53

Good luck igivein! I went last year and groceries were so expensive… and the Reese’s peanut butter chocolate aisle was a factor in me having to lose weight Blush

lapuf · 13/04/2025 14:53

What’s reverse dieting @Bluenose1966? Sounds interesting

A friend of mine suggested the John Lewis shopper/dressing guide thing, as I have a couple of big do's in the summer...
And I've downloaded Vinted so that I can sell to create a kitty toward new stuff..finding all sorts in my cupboard that fit again...which is great.

Morning all

W25D1
SW 17'10
CW 14'12

2 pound loss this week. It was on track to be more than this - I usually weigh mid week, and I was showing 14'11 on Thursday of last week - but suppression wore off and I got a bit snacky at the weekend, but a loss is a loss!

Ordering my next jab, going up to 15mg for next one.

I think I am aiming for a target of about 13 stone, but will see how it goes. I do not want to be on the jabs much longer so might do a couple of months on 15 then see where I am at.

I don't think I want to come off of them gradually, as I need to start thinking about freeing up the money for something else, and I never wanted to be on them long term using maintenance doses, although if I stop and the weight starts going back on, I will need to have a re-think.

So if anyone has any thoughts/tips on stopping and what to do going forward then I am happy to hear them.

Good luck everyone!

HansHolbein · 14/04/2025 10:33

I’m going to reply to everyone properly but OMFG! It happened! First time in 11 years!

@Bluenose1966 great going - so good to hear you’re doing well with maintenance- defo keep the clean eating on the agenda as increasing quality calories on your reverse diet is the way to go - then you avoid the yo-yo sugar cravings which will have you reaching for the ‘junk’ you’ve worked so hard to free yourself from 👍I’m writing this for me ! It my advice to myself ! @DeltaAlphaDelta79 if you’re planning on stopping soon then I’d suggest getting a pen or two at 2.5mgs and use one to help wean you off and then keep the other as a safety back up - hopefully it will have a good long expiry date on it.

Im training for a fund raising 26 mile marathon (walk!) for breast cancer, and have been walking miles and miles this week - eating well etc. and have lost 3 1/2 lbs
so now 8.6 1/2 - I’m actually feeling for the first time I don’t need to lose any more! 😅
I intend to use my last 5mg pen to slowly reduce the dose start with say 50 clicks, then 40, then 30 for the remainder of the pen. Apparently it takes approximately 30 days for the medication to completely leave your system so takes me through to June before I’m completely on my own! I have a 2.5mg pen which I will keep as back up. I may even get one more. I’m not going to pay for maintenance as I think mentally I need to make a clean break. That’s my plan!!!

EVK · 14/04/2025 10:53

Additionally - as a side thought. I’ve been toying with the idea of also extending the gaps between doses - instead of every 7days do every 10 days as I go down? Thoughts on a postcard please !
