Hello everyone! It's been an aaaaage since I last commented. I'm now at a 21kg loss (that's nearly 3.5 stone), which was 24% of my bodyweight. And my BMI is now 24.2. So, I'm dead pleased! And and AND - I just crossed my legs, and discovered that I can tuck one foot behind the other calf. I've never EVER done that in my life! Feels like an epic NSV.
Some people are starting to notice, and I don't love the comments but can explain it away if they ask (I'm a secret jabber). It's partly that the thick coat is now coming off from time to time.
I'm below my goal weight, and the lowest weight I've ever been since my early teens. I've reduced my dose a smidge to 4mg (I did 4 weeks on 5mg) and have switched my nutracheck settings to "maintenance" although I try to keep approximately 250 calories under a day. I'm going to try to get fitter (I already do loads of walking, but want to start running again) so plan to maintain my weight whilst building muscle. Though I wouldn't mind losing a few more kgs - I'm still a bit wobbly.
As I've always struggled with my weight, I'm thinking that I'll be on these drugs for some time (for ever?) as I feel my weight issues are chronic. I went through a phase of hating the injections (they hurt!) but now try to do some positive talking and say "I'm so fortunate" and "these are working so well" and "I'm glad I'm using this medication" whilst injecting. Sounds a bit weird, but it helps me.
One problem I'm finding is that even my "skinny" clothes from years ago are now too large. I'm currently seeking smaller versions of what I already have on eBay and vinted, as I can't afford to go shopping for new everything.
WRT the "more fat cells" concern ... I was doing some reading about mounjaro and lipoedema (I suspect I have a degree of this condition) and found this article which talks about the new fat cells being helpful, as they aren't diseased and function better. It's about 2/3 the way down this article. Of course, this is particularly talking about mounjaro and lipoedema, but I think it's talking about fat generally, as well. legslikemine.com/2023/11/09/tirzepatide-aka-mounjaro-approved-for-weight-loss-under-name-zepbound-what-are-your-thoughts/
