I think I’m out - at least for a short time 🥺
Since starting on 12.5 I have had the most horrendous diarrhoea, reflux, and abdominal pain despite having zero side effects on previous doses.

I went back to 10mg but the symptoms have continued.

I’ve contacted my provider who suggest a break and to contact them when I return from holiday. Am currently in the Canaries on what is a long awaited holiday with DD and can’t be more than five mins from a toilet.

I’m hopeful I can recommence on a lower dose, the thought of piling on weight again is terrifying me.

sorry for the pity post but I can’t really talk to anyone about it in RL!

Could it be something you ate? I'm on 10mg 5 months later only had symptoms twice in my journey (other than feeling cold and tired from low calories) when I had half a meatball pizza and a beef burger, which was greasy! Some people are affected by pasta e.g. heavy carbs. Some protein shakes have ingredients which cause issues like huel with flaxseed made me ill with ibs symptoms for months until I ran out and symptoms stopped. Try to keep a food diary.

ChaosDream · 20/03/2025 12:11

@Pegsmumhiya, symptoms started with second dose of 12.5 - had been plain sailing until then. I had only one dose of 10mg prior to moving up as have been moving up per the prescribers advice of if tolerating well then good to increase 😬
I suppose we all have different tolerances 🤷🏼‍♀️ just one of those things I guess - down but not out! Hope you get on ok!

ChaosDream · 20/03/2025 12:16

@Mysticmaidenhiya - no I don’t think it’s anything I’ve eaten - at first I thought it was noro but over the weeks have worked out the timing of injecting and the onset of thunderous diarrhoea tie together. Generally injection day is ok, the day after comes the hot burps and reflux and then day 2 post jab comes the liquid poo and gut cramps (sorry if TMI!)

diet has been largely unchanged - hitting protein goals and macros, i can’t stand the taste of greasy foods these days so have been swerving them.

Have you tried any new protein yoghurt or shakes? Or probiotics or vitamins in that time? Something may tie in.

Fizzleawayyy1 · 20/03/2025 13:16

@HansHolbein Feeling a bit better but this cold going around is brutal. I feel knackered all the time but that may also be a combination of the jab and I only just had my B12 shot at the GP yesterday.

I took 2 doses of 10mg and Iv just gone down to 7.5mg this week! Mostly because I really don't want to race up through the doses too quick. I still have up to 3 stone to go and would really rather wait until I'm at a stone before I start pushing 12.5-15mg! I'm scared of getting to 15mg with nowhere to turn and weight to still shift!!

I also think for myself some of the suppression is my mindset, so when I'm not 'in the Zone' I don't think it matters what dose I'm on, I can still eat anyway although I find it easier to start being 'good' again and stop.
So the last 2 weeks on 10 iv felt only half assed about dieting but because I was on 10mg i naturally was eating less and putting minor effort in but now I can see the scales moving again my mindset seems to have reset and I'm back to being A OK and 100% good so I don't need as high a dose.
I took 7.5mg Monday and I feel like suppression is really working and hoping for a good loss on sat!

Does that kind of make sense? 😂 I'm finding it hard to explain properly. I know at some point I will need to go back up to 10mg and stay there but hoping for a bit longer on 7.5!

Bluenose1966 · 20/03/2025 13:54

I was the same last week @ChaosDream three days of not leaving house. Started a day after my injection with no change to diet. I dosed a day late this week hoping it would be more out of my system and reduced my dose. Been fine since.
Has put me off taking it before important events now just in case happens again.

@Fizzleawayyy1 Trying to avoid the horrible cold going around, get well soon. Totally get what you mean re doses, though I increased to a dose I could tolerate until I got to goal as was very impatient. Most I ever managed was 6.25mg as too nauseous to go higher.
Not sure there is any research that shows if anyone gets up to 15mg that it stops working, so hoping no-one has anything to worry about on that score. Glad you are back in the zone, a weightloss definitely helps with that.

I am still eating 120g+ protein a day and trying for 30g fibre as the theory is it should fill me up that much it will stop me having my old nighttime chocolate binges!!!
This is what I have been typically eating per day, I record everything on Nutracalc to keep myself accountable.

Beautiful day today, got a pair of my M&S from Vinted size 12 shorts and an old Superdry T-shirt on and enjoying this weather, instead of my usual dread of what can I wear when weather nice.
Congrats all, everyone is doing amazing on this journey, love the updates and how supportive everyone is.

Fizzleawayyy1 · 20/03/2025 16:19

@ChaosDream Oh no!! I hope you feel better soon. I hope you are enjoying your holiday otherwise! what a horrendous time to strike!
Iv had a fair amount of toilet attacks since I started 7.5mg but Iv just stuck with it and it does ease off!!

@lickycat My eating habits haven't changed much either, I just eat a lot less but I still like chocolate so Iv been having that still!

Fizzleawayyy1 · 20/03/2025 16:25

@Bluenose1966 Im not sure of the research behind it either, so I cant pretend to know too much but my mind is saying if you are taking 7.5mg for longer and then the effects wear off and that's when you move up a dose that in theory that could happen on 15 and it may not be as effective the longer you are on it? although I doubt it ever stops fully working.

Iv took the dog for 2 shorter walks today as the weather has been nice and I although the weather is lovely.... I cant believe you are wearing shorts!! Im still a bit cold!!! I bet you feel great!!

femininomenon · 20/03/2025 19:32

@HansHolbeinI’m taking my 9th dose of 10mg last night and it’s going to be my last as I’ve been starving this week! Need to order tonight as I went to do it last night and filled in all the info on we prescribe but then when it came to choosing which dose I wanted 12.5 wasn’t an option. So I need to have another look at who will be next cheapest for me to use.

@ChaosDream really sorry to hear you’ve been unwell, it’s horrible how quickly things can change but hope you are feeling better soon.

Evenstar · 20/03/2025 20:48

@femininomenon I saw this earlier saying there are shortages of some doses

Ah that would make sense then! I will get looking now!

flowerlady2 · 20/03/2025 22:14

At last! I’ve lost 3 stone :) it’s been a while coming with a recent plateau but I’m feeling good. Just on 10mg which I’ll re-order, I’m still over a stone from the top of my BMI

Me too! 40lbs since 14 October. Size 26 down to size 18 jeggings ( as tight as compression bandages on my legs but who gives a feck). People are beginning to notice Grin

EVK · 21/03/2025 06:22

@Fizzleawayyy1 @Tohaveandtohold thanks so much for your support, I’ve got two more 5mg pens already so will see where I’m at after those. I am going to put more effort into my resistance workouts over the next few weeks and see if that helps at all. Need to build more muscle and round off my flat bum! @ChaosDream sorey to hear you’ve been struggling, sounds like you’ve been given good advice and hopefully you will be able to carry on at a lower dose once you e recovered. The thought of gaining the weight we’ve worked so hard to lose is terrifying- I’m definitely worried about that too - stay positive and focus on all the healthy habits you’ve created while on MJ - hopefully we will be the beginning of new statistics which demonstrate you can lose it and keep it off 🩷🤞

Great news!!

femininomenon · 21/03/2025 07:07

@flowerlady2yay well done!

I ordered 12.5mg from IQ doctor last night as with the 20.5% off all orders it was just over £150 which I didn’t mind, fingers crossed I’ve not had anything through to say it’s unavailable.

Carridoesntlivehereanymore · 21/03/2025 07:25

It's so inspiring reading about all the substantial losses many of us are seeing. October doesn't seen that long ago when, almost at desperation point like so many, I finally took the mj plunge in the hope I would lose something. And here I am 3½ stone down and still going

Nsv's : just bought another identical replacement denim skirt but now in a size 14!! And I'm swoppng out a couple of distinctive t shirts for the size smaller! I've just tried on some summer dresses for going away soon and most of them are too big, some are much too big!! I'm certain I can do some simple seam adjustments with the sewing machine on a couple of them and then keep wearing the 'same old thing'!!

I'm still working on getting my eternity ring off. I wrenched it off once when I was really cold a couple of weeks back. I've got a pretty ring I wear daily my on a middle finger which is too big now, I found a UV curable gel on Amazon that bonds temporarily to the ring to reduce the size a bit which seems to be working atm, tho I need to redo it before I go away. What's anyone else doing about oversize rings? I don't really want to pay to reduce the size now and then again in a few months time

lapuf · 21/03/2025 10:50

Carri could you get a little transparent rubber ring keeper to wear on the back of it until you can get it resized?

HansHolbein · 21/03/2025 11:18

@Carridoesntlivehereanymore this is what I’ve got on my engagement ring at the moment. I got them from Amazon. I’ll find the link…

It will be interesting to see how the thread evolves now with supporting those still losing and those starting maintenance!
I’ve had my first “you’re not planning to lose any more” concerned family friend today (our friend’s lovely dad), and I said no, as only 3lbs off lowest part of range now. It’s been a bit sped up this week as I have a stomach bug so the whoosh may undo a bit when I’m recovered! I did blame something I ate but there’s d&v going around school Blush

Maarva · 21/03/2025 16:02

I am thinking about maintenance, I moved to Cloud just before Christmas. At 10st I am only just not overweight so aiming for 8.5/9st which will probably be another 3 months.

Hope everyone is good, this is such a supportive thread and lovely
to be able to discuss our journeys where we are at similar stages.

Lillipops · 21/03/2025 17:38

@HansHolbein my engagement ring is the same! I’m waiting for another couple of stone to come off before I get it sized down

Lillipops · 21/03/2025 17:40

I did a weigh in this morning and hit 4st 4lbs….60lbs in today! Wow! Probably another 5 to go but I will do this 🥳
