Weigh in day!

SW 103.9kg / 16 stone 5
CW 96.1kg / 15 stone 2
(Height for context is 5ft 7)

Today is W5 D1 so going up to 5mg this evening! Reeeeeally hoping to be below 15 stone by the end of this week.

Plan is to keep to 800-1000 cals max per day on weekdays, and relax at the weekend. Michael Mosley’s Fast 800 recipes are really good so will probably stick to that plan.

Still haven’t set a goal weight… 11 stone maybe? That’s still 4 stone I need to lose. It just feels like such a lot!! Anyone else feeling intimidated by their goal weight?

@Mounjaroday well done, you're smashing it.

I think having a few stone to lose is daunting, so rather look at the end goal, I just focus on half a stone at a time and also getting to the next stone bracket. Maybe try that if you feel a bit overwhelmed with the thought of losing 4 stone?

Hangryfastjo · 25/02/2025 09:57

W2D5 for me and I've woken up with a headache and feeling wooly. Not sure if this is the MJ or just me. Going to try to up my water.

Hreat losses everyone

sweetpickle2 · 25/02/2025 09:58

Was going to start today as my jab arrived, but went to step on the scales and they're broken! So I've had to order some new ones but they won't be here till tomorrow earliest so I am debating waiting till then to jab so the weighing and the jab day all lines up... or am I insane 😂

sweetpickle2 · 25/02/2025 10:05

No sooner did I post this than I saw a pic of myself on linkedin from a work event I went to last week.... scales not needed I am enormous!! Def jabbing this morning

HappyPie82 · 25/02/2025 10:06

Thanks @Dozycuntlaters that’s good advice.

I kind of swing from wanting to set one big target and worrying it’s too much to aim for, to not being ambitious enough and giving up too quickly.

Apparently a healthy weight for my height is 10 stone? … that just sounds totally crazy but I have been big for so long that I’ve lost all concept of what’s normal.

Mounjaro is definitely giving me more confidence that I will keep going. I’ve tried health kicks before, lost a bit of weight, felt a bit better and then given up.

@Mounjaroday I'm about the same height as you, and I think for me to be in a normal BMI I need to be 11st 3 or less. I have set my main target as 10st 7 although when I get there (when not if) I will see if it's realistic for me to get to 10st. But for now at 12st 7, I am just focusing at getting into the 11's as that seems much more in reach right now

I ordered my second pen from them on Saturday and it's due to arrive today. I'll let you know.

Hi all. Checking in at the end of week 1. I was super nervous about side effects but so far it's been fine. Only noticeable thing has been feeling a little uncomfortably full for hours after eating - I've learnt a light evening meal is best for me!

I did notice reduced cravings in the first few days, but by midweek I was starting to crave sweet things and just think about food in general again.

A helpful thing for me is that mounjaro has taken away that gnawing empty stomach hunger feeling that I've previously had when following a lower calorie diet. Hopefully this means I can easily stick to my calorie limit without the urge to break and fall off the wagon.

SW: 90.5kg
CW (end of week 1): 88.5kg
Loss of 2kg / 4.4lbs in the first week.

Wasn't expecting such a loss in week 1 but it's probably mostly water weight. My ideal is a slow and steady 2lbs a week, I'm thinking a slower loss with more time to incorporate exercise and food habits will be easier to maintain long term.

sweetpickle2 · 25/02/2025 11:14

Went to open up my first jab and didn't realise Juniper sent you a set of digital scales so I was worried about mine breaking for nothing!

As suspected, I have gained back exactly half of the 12kg I lost in 3 months of Mounjaro last year. Going to begin with that as my new start weight-

SW: 102.8kg
CW: 102.8kg
GW: 89kg

So far I am loving the Juniper app, its given me an interim milestone of 100kg for now so will see how long it takes to hit that now I've taken my first jab.

Hope everyone else has a good week!

partyfoodpickingpiggy · 25/02/2025 11:21

Hi everyone,

Well done on all the losses.
Weigh in day for me and I have lost a stone since I started which I'm pretty pleased about. You can definitely tell in my face.

It's week 5 and I have just done my bonus dose. I was a bit scared but actually it was fine. I prefer using the pen though.

It just all seems so light! 😂

I was 11 stone when I got married 15 years ago … and I remember feeling unconfident about my weight at that time. Hopefully I’ll appreciate my health a lot more this time round.

And yes: WHEN we get there! Love that attitude 💪🏻

Been doing some "girl maths" with regards to the cost of my jabs.
Switching between suppliers etc to get the best deal each time, but let's use my most recent pen cost for calculation purposes!!
I spent just over £100 on this pen. So £25 a week.
Prior to MJ I was drinking a bottle of wine a night (I know, I know) at a cost of around £35 a week!
In 4 weeks I've had 1 bottle!
So it's paying for itself, I'm losing weight and no longer on the verge of a serious alcohol prob!
Even taking into account the various vitamins, I'm still ahead as I should be taking those anyway as I'm the worlds most picky eater!
Win win!

Mounjaronewbie25 · 25/02/2025 11:34

@debwillloseweight indeed, the cost of the pen is a fraction of what I would have spent on takeaways and snacks in a month.

I don't understand what this bonus/golden dose is? And how do you use it? What did you do? Please explain like I'm a 5yr old child as I'm clueless! 🤣❤️

mysparkleismissing · 25/02/2025 11:42

Bit gutted only lost 1lb this week (0.4kg)
That's 7 in total which is a good loss I know for 3 weeks

partyfoodpickingpiggy · 25/02/2025 11:43

@alwayshavebeenfemale
So in the pen there is more than 4 doses, there is extra in there to allow for priming the pen etc, so to make sure there is enough.

The pen only allows you to take 4 doses with the way it is made. You are then meant to discard the pen and start your next one.

By using an insulin needle you can extract the leftover liquid for a 5th dose. This will be day 29 so within the using within 30 days of starting your first dose.

Some people do it some people don't, I chose to try it as it's basically a free week and this stuff isn't cheap.

Here's a video I watched before I did it in case you're interested.

Mounjaroday · 25/02/2025 11:43

Absolutely agree with you @debwillloseweight.

My alcohol consumption too was getting out of hand: a couple of glasses (or more) would be my after work treat. Tbf Mounjaro has been transformational in breaking that cycle of addiction.

Yes it came with 5 needles! And some alcohol swabs.

Thanks so much! I understand now and will order some insulin pens pronto haha. X

partyfoodpickingpiggy · 25/02/2025 11:56

@alwayshavebeenfemale your welcome. I got mine from med basics

TriangleLight · 25/02/2025 12:29

@debwillloseweight the alcohol thing is my downfall, so really hoping it helps with that, if the bloody thing ever arrives!

It's honestly so weird! I'd be click watching waiting till a respectable hour to open a bottle. Now I don't even think about it. The couple of drinks I have had were out of habit with my partner poring me a glass lol
