@OntheTrainX I went with Rowlands pharmacy and had a video call with pharmacist, who then asked me to get weighed whilst on call and show him my weight whilst stood on scales. So much easier than sending photos..... Mind I don't think he expected me to be in buff 😂

Haha !!

Weigh in:

SW: 13st 8
W1: 13 7
W2: 13 5

Tentatively optimistic that the scales are moving now. I don't mind losing slowly but I do want to lose.

I was on the fence about moving up to 5 but, although I am getting some suppression still, I don't think it's as strong as in the first few days. I had a couple of small (125ml so really small) glasses of wine yesterday and felt like I could have had more for the first time since starting MJ

I lost exactly the same as you for the first couple of weeks and was slightly disappointed. I went up to the 5mg. Now six weeks on and I’m 1lb off losing a stone. For me I’ve been exercising more and think that a slow loss is going to be more sustainable as it’s giving me time for exercise to be part of my everyday routine.

arealnewbie · 24/02/2025 11:21

Hi all- as my username suggests, really new to all of this. Had posted on another MJ thread but seen a comment about this one which seems more appropriate as I just took my first dose. Was absolutely bricking it- so nervous about any major side effects. So far so good- but not sure it counts given it's only been 2 hours SmileSmile

There's alot been talking of exercise and what people do, thought id share what iv been doing, i recently found a woman on YouTube, Cheryl Coulombe, who does strength training videos for free. I'd been doing these for a few months and noticed a difference in body shape. She's since started a 6 weeks muscle burns fat challenge on solin app, this does include a small cost to join but I find her so easy to follow and enjoy the exercises.
Love reading everyone's progress on here so supportive too x

Thank you, ill take a look

I am planning to switch to The Family Chemist from Oushk. Their boxes are not branded (Ouhshks are covered in Os unless you pay more for unbranded) and their prices are competitive. They also offer price matching to some competitors.
I have to say Oushks customer service was very good though. They seem to be making a lot of use of social media and certainly have their loyal fans. Neither of which are attractive for me.

Im happy to lose slowly tbh. To me, i worry about excess skin. If im eating well, exercising and losing weight too, if it takes me longer than most, thats fine for me. Its all about changing our mindsets, getting healthy and making it sustainable long term when we eventually come off MJ

Oh no thats rubbish. Id call them. I applied for mine on a Saturday evening, it was approved and shipped Sunday and arrived Monday. That was with MedExpress

Mine experience with Medexpress was the same. I ordered it on Saturday and it was then approved and dispatched and is arriving today. Photo was easy to do as well. I did it in my underwear so my big tummy and chunky thighs were well displayed 😂

Hangryfastjo · 24/02/2025 11:34

Thank you for the exercise suggestions, I will check them out.

W2D5 for me, woke feeling hungry, but had a protein yogurt and feel satisfied now.

I ordered my next pen at the weekend, changed from Oushk to IQ doctor, I think it's been approved. Had to send photos but I don't mind that. I've also ordered some renpho scales and just crossing my fingers the weight isn't different to my current scales 🤣🤣

Due my "golden dose" tonight, so just done weigh in from the first 4 jabs and 10 lbs down which I'm happy with. Got my next pen in the fridge ready to go for next weeks jab. Despite all the new guidelines I was able to re-order from medexpress easily and it came within a couple of days. I decided to stick with the 2.5 for the next month and will see how it goes.

SW - 13st 3.5
CW 12st 75

Well done! It's good that you're getting your moneys worth with the golden dose. I am part of the SheMed trial so won't be getting away with trying that but good on you.

I feel normal for the first few hours and then started to feel 'full' like I'd eaten a huge meal by tea time and that's when I knew it was kicking in!

SongToTheSiren · 24/02/2025 11:44

Hi all, great to read about everyone's experiences/losses etc and lovely to have a group where we can share as I haven't told anyone in real life that I'm doing the jabs.

2 week weigh in today for me.

SW 15st 3lbs
CW 14st 11 lbs so 6lbs down in 2 weeks. I'm happy with that, good steady weight loss will probably be more sustainable long-term (having been a yo-yo dieter in the past)

Just done my third jab. Apart from some mild constipation which was easily sorted, I haven't had any nausea or other issues since starting on mounjaro. I'm also happy about that as I was concerned about side effects before I started doing the jabs.

Just pondering now whether to stick with 2.5mg or go up to 5mg for my next pen. I'm getting some suppression on 2.5mg but not a lot and still feeling hungry most of the time.

I'm thinking i'll get the 5mg pen but count clicks to have 3.75 mg as my first dose of that and see how I do. I really don't want to start suffering with bad nausea etc jumping straight up to 5mg (I had horrendous constant nausea for months when pregnant with DD and even though that was 14 years ago I still remember it vividly 😂)

flipflop76 · 24/02/2025 11:58

My dispatch date it meant to be tomorrow for my first pen. I haven't heard anything yet but I'm impatient to get going!

I've ordered the 5mg as my next pen.
I plan on taking the golden dose (which is usually more than 2.5) then doing 3.75 as my first dose moving up. This is because we go to Manchester for a night/2days only 2 days after injection, so didn't want side effects while away. Typical that I don't have plans often but when I do, it clashes

Housewife2010 · 24/02/2025 12:47

I'm due my 4th dose on Wednesday.
I've just started a list on my phone of things I'm looking forward to once I've lost weight. Whenever I need to focus myself on this weight loss, I'll read and add to the list.

Zibb · 24/02/2025 12:49

So I weighed at a doctor's appointment on 14th February and was 115.3kg, weighed today on the same scales at 106.9kg. Home scales read 107.1kg.

I don't look or feel any different, maybe my fingers are less swollen, so putting the huge loss down to an insane amount of water weight/bloating.

I will stick to my current plan of eating 1800-2000kcal a day as Fitbit suggests I burned an average of 3200kcal a day last week. Think I'm finally feeling the effect as I struggled to hit my goal yesterday, couldn't fit anymore food in.

That's such a good idea! Definitely going to start my own list.

What kind of things do you have on yours if you don't mind me asking?

Yep I'm planning on taking the 5th/golden dose as well. Going to order some syringes for that as I've been reading that a lot of people are finding the hard twist of the pen they used on previous pens doesn't work anymore. Taking the 5th dose (whether 2.5 or a little bit more) then going up to 3.75 seems to be a good way forward.

I've had a few birthdays and nights out recently so that's been a real test of willpower not to load my plate up - how dare people have birthdays that clash with my mounjaro schedule 🤣

I haven't been able to take my wedding & engagement rings off for years. My engagement ring is cracked on the band too. Once my fingers are less podgy and I can take them off, I'm going to take them, my eternity ring (that doesn't fit either & I haven't worn for years) and my earrings back to Boodles. I'll get my ring mended and everything cleaned and polished. They will all be lovely and shiny and will fit!

I haven't been able to get my rings on since I was pregnant in 2019 so I'm hoping I will be able to this year!!

Sadly despite feeling quite full and not thinking about food since taking the first dose on Saturday morning, I am absolutely ravenous today and any effect has completely gone. I know I can go up to 5mg next time but that's still almost the full four weeks away 😂

I felt like that a few days in. Try more water and protein? X

Probablyawake · 24/02/2025 14:09

Weigh day today!

Week 1 -8lbs
Week 2 -4lbs

Happy with that, still mulling over whether to move to 5mg, I am going to take the golden dose to give me a bit more time to decide. I feel good, no cravings, no side effects, eating well (when I remember to!).
I had my 3rd jab on Friday as I've been changing my days as moving to Thursday from this week.

I'm drinking plenty of water (god knows how many times I was up in the night because of that 🤣) and still finding my feet with protein but feel I'm doing ok there.

For anyone suffering with heartburn or acid reflux as a side effects, try prepackaged apple slices. I don't know the science but I have had bad acid reflux for years and these help for some reason.

TriangleLight · 24/02/2025 14:25

I am approved! So hopefully will come in time for me to start in February,

I do loads of exercise, and eat pretty well, but slide out of deficit with wine, really hoping the injection will help me with that. Obviously will watch portion control and protein and get logging again too.

MissionToSize10 · 24/02/2025 14:38

How much protein are people eating in a day and what exactly? I dont think im eating enough
