W1 D6. I'm 2lbs down on d1 but I'm also 5.5lbs down on 3 days before my 1st dose when I started calorie counting again.
I had a lot of water weight from inflammation from exercise so think I lost most of it before I started. All in all I'm happy with week 1.

MissionToSize10 · 24/02/2025 07:32

Just weighed myself a day earlier (Wk1) -3lbs!! Very happy with that. Still 17 stones on the nose but yeah buzzing!

rach7979 · 24/02/2025 07:40

Week 3 of 2.5mg for me.

SW- 14st 12
CW- 14st 1
GW- 9st 6

I'm going to see how I feel after dose 4, and decide whether I'm staying on 2.5mg or moving up to 5mg. Touchwood no side effects apart from a feeling I get every now and then which is like my skin is hot on the outside of my left thigh.

Marypoppinsisnosaint · 24/02/2025 07:46

@TriangleLight thank you for that post, I found it really helpful.

Something I'm finding with this is I'm now learning more about the foods I'm eating. Before I wouldn't have been bothered to know how much protein was in something or am I getting enough fibre.

I'm now making sure sure everything I eat is going to work in my favour as I really do want to have better habits.

Next I want to look at exercise, it's something I don't do. I walk everyday but not enough to call it exercise.

I'm under the impression from what I've read I need to be doing to muscle strengthening? I'm no gym bunny so does anyone have any good suggestions of something I can do at home please?

Weigh day/jab day tomorrow 😁

@HoratioBum

I have been struggling for a long time with how to cook meals that work for DH (tall, skinny, hungry cyclist) and me. And now our sons as well

I think it's a large reason for my weight gain TBH. When I lived alone, I would sometimes just have a bowl of scrambled eggs for dinner or avocado on toast or something but that's not enough for DH and I do like to eat together

I think the solution for me at least is modular meals. Yesterday we had tacos, DH and our boys powered through a stack of wraps with various fillings, I had some of the fillings as a salad. Earlier in the week, we had a pasta dish but a tray of roasted vegetables with it and I mostly had the veg, but with a bit of the pasta

But pre MJ, I knew this intellectually but struggled to make it happen but the last couple of weeks, I have found it much easier to stick to

I am really interested in other people's ideas on this as well

The protein is difficult for me as I don't eat meat. I have been eyeing up protein powder but most of the recipes seem to be sweet and I don't have a sweet tooth

Febnewbie · 24/02/2025 07:55

Weigh in:

SW: 13st 8
W1: 13 7
W2: 13 5

Tentatively optimistic that the scales are moving now. I don't mind losing slowly but I do want to lose.

I was on the fence about moving up to 5 but, although I am getting some suppression still, I don't think it's as strong as in the first few days. I had a couple of small (125ml so really small) glasses of wine yesterday and felt like I could have had more for the first time since starting MJ

HoratioBum · 24/02/2025 08:05

@Febnewbie Yes this is the problem - left to my own devices I would have a salad or egg on toast.
Modular meals sounds the way forward - or I may just have to be up front that DH will have to start cooking for himself - there are no children in the mix so it's just the two of us at home. Thanks so much for the ideas!
Weighed in this morning and down 6 pounds since Thursday, which I'm thrilled about. I know any diet is mostly water at the start but it's so motivating.

TriangleLight · 24/02/2025 08:51

I still haven’t got approval from Asda despite it being over a week since I applied, and sending the photos numerous times 🙈 Getting fed up now and my zeal for it is going, although the losses on here do inspire me. Maybe I should just do it the calorie counting route like I did before

Febnewbie · 24/02/2025 08:58

@TriangleLight
I chose Cloud pharmacy after looking at a few threads on suppliers and they don't even mandate a photo - it's recommended but they don't insist. They don't seem to do the faffing with photos that many other suppliers are doing

TriangleLight · 24/02/2025 09:09

Thanks @Febnewbie , if I don’t hear today I’ll cancel Asda and go with them.

Oh no thats rubbish. Id call them. I applied for mine on a Saturday evening, it was approved and shipped Sunday and arrived Monday. That was with MedExpress

Sarahyorks · 24/02/2025 09:53

There's alot been talking of exercise and what people do, thought id share what iv been doing, i recently found a woman on YouTube, Cheryl Coulombe, who does strength training videos for free. I'd been doing these for a few months and noticed a difference in body shape. She's since started a 6 weeks muscle burns fat challenge on solin app, this does include a small cost to join but I find her so easy to follow and enjoy the exercises.
Love reading everyone's progress on here so supportive too x

Marypoppinsisnosaint · 24/02/2025 09:55

@Sarahyorks thank you, I'll have a look.

I definitely need something and from past experience if I don't enjoy it I'm less likely to stick at it.

OntheTrainX · 24/02/2025 10:01

The faff with photos is a nuisance and it’s a massive shame if people are put off.

My start weight was 14st 10lbs BMI 32.3 so I was medically obese. Fact.

But I’m an hourglass who wears a size 14 clothes so “just” looked overweight.

My photos were rejected twice. The third lot were accepted but I had to make them be as unflattering as possible - tight gymwear, breathe out, slight hunch.

But ….I understand the pharmacists’ point of view, they have a duty to prescribe sensibly. It’s just so frustrating when you know you qualify.

Feb2025start · 24/02/2025 10:04

@TriangleLight I have heard that some of the bigger prescribers (Asda, Morrisons, Superdrug etc etc) can be quite slow - I guess they maybe have more internal processes? I went with Oushk for my first pen and was approved and pen delivered in less than a week. They also have a really good reputation for support and responsiveness to queries or concerns (and a big discount for your first order if you use the discount code on the monj website (Mounjaro Discount Price List UK | Reduced Prices)!). I switched to Pillsorted for my second pen and they were also really quick and straightforward.

Febnewbie · 24/02/2025 10:07

@OntheTrainX

Similar for me - I am definitely obese and qualify but a) I carry it quite well so it's not super obvious and b) I am short so it won't take a huge loss for me to get under 30 BMI

So I did specifically look for a pharmacy that has the reputation of not being super picky and which has a good maintenance policy

Febnewbie · 24/02/2025 10:10

On exercise - it depends what level of fitness you're starting from but I really didn't get on with Caroline Girvan. Her videos are quite hard - even the beginner ones and also quite complicated.

I like fitbymik and Kayleigh Cohen strength, occasionally do a bit of Madfit.

@Marypoppinsisnosaint

aylis · 24/02/2025 10:14

Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred is really good. I don't think you can get it on youtube any more but you can get videos of other people doing it which is fine. There are three levels of it you're supposed to work through but I never got past the first level and lost a good couple of stone at that time. If you're able to get the actual recording she also provided modified versions of the workouts for people who can't quite do the full range of the moves.

fortyfix · 24/02/2025 10:33

Morning ladies

Week 1 day 6 for me and I don't feel any suppression at all! However psychologically my body is not expecting any binges so I will just eat what I've been eating the last few days.

I started my period today as well so hoping that it doesn't affect my weigh in tomorrow but at least I can factor that in if it's not a good loss.

A had a question for you ladies - has anyone noticed being more aware of their breath smelling whilst being on this. My husband commented that my breath smells 'stronger' (I don't know if he was using a more polite term!) and since then I have noticed too and it's making me paranoid and wanting to use mouthwash all the time!

FatBottomGirlz · 24/02/2025 10:35

Check-in end of week four for me

SW 198.5lm
CW 188lb
Lost 10.5lb

I was a day late with my injection last week, so I'll use the bonus dose tomorrow before moving up to 5mg next week

Dozycuntlaters · 24/02/2025 10:46

Due my "golden dose" tonight, so just done weigh in from the first 4 jabs and 10 lbs down which I'm happy with. Got my next pen in the fridge ready to go for next weeks jab. Despite all the new guidelines I was able to re-order from medexpress easily and it came within a couple of days. I decided to stick with the 2.5 for the next month and will see how it goes.

SW - 13st 3.5
CW 12st 75

sweetpickle2 · 24/02/2025 10:50

Its a shame if people are put off by the questioning of photos- Juniper really put mine under a microscope and I had to send a lot of different ones to get them to sign off. The doctor assigned to my case said I didn't look as heavy as I said I was, which made me laugh as if that were true I wouldn't bother with the jabs! But I'm tall and I guess carry it differently to someone the same weight who is average height or shorter.

0987654321q · 24/02/2025 10:51

Does anyone else feel sleepy after taking a dose?

Sarahyorks · 24/02/2025 11:00

@OntheTrainX I went with Rowlands pharmacy and had a video call with pharmacist, who then asked me to get weighed whilst on call and show him my weight whilst stood on scales. So much easier than sending photos..... Mind I don't think he expected me to be in buff 😂

OntheTrainX · 24/02/2025 11:01

Yes to stronger breath
No to sleepiness
