Just started Mounjaro? Friendly chat and support right here!

My starting weight: 104kg
Would love to lose 30kg over time

Have just started the first dose - no side effects so far. Appetite has disappeared. Cautiously hopeful about the future!

Good luck to anyone else starting their weight-loss journey too. Would love to hear from you!

@Mounjaroday thank you! You have had an amazing loss!!!! Well done

Ilovelemonandsugarpancakes · 11/02/2025 10:13

Thinking ahead (which is ridiculous I know seeing I have 3 stone to lose still :-) ) How is everyone planning to maintain?

Is it feasible to carry on with the injections but less often? Say once per month ongoing?

Mum2Fergus · 11/02/2025 10:16

I posted Saturday (I think) about having prescription approved, it's due today. After reading all the advice/guidance I could find in readiness for starting I've been drinking lots of water, cut down on tea/fizzy drinks (I don't drink alcohol) and generally being more mindful of what I've been eating. Popped on scale this morning to get accurate start weight...and I've lost 4lbs! Don't pick up prescription till this afternoon!

partyfoodpickingpiggy · 11/02/2025 10:20

I'm not sure about maintaining. I think when I get to goal I will try and log everything on my fitness pal on maintenance. But I will see when I get there.

One other point I meant to add to my previous post is that if you're not already, I would start measuring and tracking your measurements. I write it in a notebook.
I measure waist, top right arm, top right thigh and hips. Interestingly I lost more weight on the scales in my first week than my second but lost more in my measurements in the second week. It's quite motivating, I think especially if you have a week when the scales don't move much. I have lost 2 inches off my waist since I started.

Good idea I havn't taken any measurements yet so I'll start

Housewife2010 · 11/02/2025 11:19

Tomorrow I'll have my 2nd injection. 5 lbs down, but 5 stone to go! I feel fine, but I do find this drug utterly bizarre. I keep trying to analyse if I'm hungry or if I want a particular food. I made my daughter one of my favourite meals yesterday & I wasn't even tempted to have any. I'm just really impatient to lose more weight and get through the next stone barrier.

MaddyM8 · 11/02/2025 11:41

Amazing losses so far!

Mine still hasn't come. I ordered through superdrug. Took the money then 3 days to approve and then said dispatched on Friday via royal mail and nothing since. Starting to get a little concerned. Anyone else had this? I have messaged on my account for an update so hopefully someone will get back to me!

partyfoodpickingpiggy · 11/02/2025 09:50

Week 2 weigh in and I have lost a total of 8.6 pounds in two weeks. Happy with that. I could never lose that much without the jab.

No real side effects as such. A bit of queasiness here and there. Third jab going in today.

(Also - not sure if it's someone on here or not but thank you to whoever used my med express code yesterday evening. That was a nice surprise email to open. Smile)

I think that was me! Thank you 🙏 And my prescription has arrived this morning. So quick! I’m a bit nervous. Think I’ll start tonight tho and just bite the bullet!

AndCallMeNancy · 11/02/2025 11:55

Also @partyfoodpickingpiggy that is a fab loss. I hope I do as well as you 🙌🏼

Probablyawake · 11/02/2025 12:03

I have downloaded the shotly app and you can track your shots, weight, side effects etc. I also use a clever fox meal planner book.
Day 2 and I'm not hungry at all, feel fine but it is early days.

ForHardyKhakiLion · 11/02/2025 12:04

Morning all,

I'm finally posting after thread stalking for a week or so.

I had my first injection last Friday and have been OK so far, definite loss, and no real side effects.

I'm going to weigh weekly, and take measurements monthly.

I have interim targets 5 / 10 / 15kg losses, but no real end state. I think it's more about how I feel in my skin.

I'm not specifically calorie counting, but trying to make healthy choices, and having this remove the snacking etc to help build better habits.

itcouldalwaysgetworse · 11/02/2025 12:21

Morning All,

Quick questions, but is there a pinned post or thread where we can put the referral codes on. Understand people dont want them on random threads, but can't find if there is anywhere where we can offer a code to people. Would be nice to get mine used and save some money

Thanks

obsessedlex · 11/02/2025 12:26

HI All
I did my first jab on Thursday afternoon but just feeling a bit "meh" at the moment really, both me and my husband haven't really had much in the way of supression at all, yet we keep seeing posters in the thread who clearly seem to have had huge effects so far. We also haven't had any side effects really....
Does this sound right?
Both trying hard to stick to low cal, and to be patient.....
Would be lovely to hear from anyone in the same boat...
xx

mumalummum · 11/02/2025 12:27

signing in for this thread. I started my first injection on Friday - mounjaro 2.5. I don't feel any different at all, I'm wondering if it is because I am so large (My BMI is 46😱) that it simply is too low a dose to feel anything.

I've been overweight since puberty - an overweight teen, then obese as an adult. I was diagnosed with PCOS at 20 and type 2 diabetes in my 30s . Most of my weight has been piled on through excessive wine drinking and chocolate eating - 2 things I have had under control for years, for the sake of my health - but the weight isn't budging,

Now in my late 40s I feel like I'm in last chance to get healthy territory. I'd love to get into the merely overweight category - 14 stone is the lowest I have been able to mainatin as an adult - involving 1800 calories a day and daily gym - 45 minutes cardio, weights and then an hour of swimming - since becoming a mum 2 hours at the gym is unsustainable and I've piled on the weight

CW - 19 st 5lb
Goal - 14 stone - BMI of 30

Yes, there is a dedicated thread for codes.

So I’m on day 6 of my first jab, not many side affects. I have felt colder than I normally would, just didn’t feel like I could get myself warm but nothing major. Felt a bit gippy the first day too, but apart from that nothing else.

I weighed 12st 5lb to start with last Wednesday & weighed this morning at 11st 11lb. So that’s an 8lb loss this week, I inject again tomorrow.

I’ve done no exercise it’s just been all about not picking at chocolate, crisps, biscuits etc. I work at home so find myself always with my head in the fridge or cupboard every time I make a cup of tea. Speaking of which, I don’t even fancy one & when I do have one I only drink half of it. Never thought I’d see that day!

I’m loving seeing everyone’s journey 🥰

DistantVworp · 11/02/2025 12:59

What do people think about going up to 5mg for the second month - I'm getting a bit confused with all the information out there. I'm getting good, but probably not amazing suppression now, but I don't know how much of that is being on my period and having my usual intense sugar cravings. I am able to resist them better though!

@DistantVworp I think if you're losing with no side effects you could stay on the 2.5 for another month and see how you get on?

Ilovelemonandsugarpancakes · 11/02/2025 13:05

I really want to get back into gym classes but don't really have anyone to go with so feel nervous. Really want to do bodypump but have visions of me being the only one my age and weight! I know it's probably stupid I just need to bite the bullet and do it

DistantVworp · 11/02/2025 13:14

@Ilovelemonandsugarpancakes My problem is its really hard to tell when I'm losing (over a short period of time). Currently am on my period so according to the scales I've not lost any weight...but I know that I can put on / drop around 10lbs of water around my period, so scales aren't a helpful metric in the short term. I suppose I could stay on another month and see how that goes...but I'm impatient 😂

Also, your username has reminded me...when is pancake day? 😁

@DistantVworp 4th March 💃💃💃😃

@AndCallMeNancy thank you so much! And good luck with your journey. Don't be nervous. Just go for it SmileSmileSmile

partyfoodpickingpiggy · 11/02/2025 13:28

@Ilovelemonandsugarpancakes if you want to do body pump then go for it. No one will be looking at you, they will just be concentrating on getting through the class. I generally hide at the back then I can't see myself in the mirrorWink
