And if I dont hit either then I will hit them in the weeks that follow...

Great to be so chilled @CatTraveler

I often have to remind myself that there's no rush

Arglefraster · 08/03/2025 09:54

Wow @InfoSecInTheCity 🎉🎉🎉

I seem to quite stuck for another couple of weeks in fact I gained this week for the first time (half a kg) but period was a week late so I think my hormones are messing with me - as ever!!
I also think this is a set point for me & my body is really trying to stay here plus it's just over 10% of my starting weight gone which I have a vague memory of being significant set point wise (maybe from Why we eat too much ??)
I'll just KBO

It's been so much warmer I've done a few walks carrying my coat recently & despite there being less of me the shedding of the disguise/protection is still really hard - clearly I look fat with or without a coat so it makes no sense!

Anyway the birds are singing in the garden hope everyone has a lovely weekend

MamaNewtNewt · 08/03/2025 11:01

@MooBaggage I think that's one of the great things, the ability to do things in moderation, which I have always struggled with, and then got so disgusted with myself I'd go bingeing. Glad you were able to have a good time while not going off track.

@InfoSecInTheCity that's amazing!

@gimmemounjaro I'm loving your interim goals with what they will mean. I might try to do that to keep me motivated!

I had my second jab last night and don't seem to have the side effects this week (so far). Appetite suppression is back and I couldn't finish the breakfast I've been happily wolfing down for the past few days. Went out for dinner last night and I had water, a pasta dish and a teeny slice of garlic bread, so pleased with that given it was just before my next jab, so minimum suppression.

But in exciting news I got my new eufy scales this morning so I'm off to explore the wonders!

164.6lb this morning which is a BMI of 25.02 I think I can reasonably round that down and say “Hey folks, nothing to see, just a healthy weight person standing over here, chilling.”

Amazing! Congratulations - you're a Normal!!! 😊😊😊😊

MooBaggage · 08/03/2025 14:09

NSV! NSV! I have walked 10,100 steps today in London and although I'm tired, I'm not in pain...! 😯

I just can't get over not having Plantar Fasciitis any more - is making a massive difference to my physical and mental health. Am very happy (and tired!).

WeAllHaveWings · 08/03/2025 14:18

Well done @MooBaggage ! 🥳

Don't think I have cleared 10,000 steps for many many years! I have only got to around 8,000 max so far!

Well done on being normal! @InfoSecInTheCity Keep chilling!

MooBaggage · 08/03/2025 21:22

Thank you! Back from dinner out, where we walked there and back instead of getting the bus - making a grand total of 14,500 steps today! The most I've walked in years and years. No plantar fasciitis and no IBS-D has taken the fear out of walking! This alone is just blooming life changing. Losing the weight makes the walking easier, but removing the PF and IBS makes the walking possible!

Back home tomorrow for a normal 3 x days (and a scary weigh in - don't think I've lost anything this week!) and then off to Lanzarote on Thursday 😀

SqueakyDinosaur · 08/03/2025 21:33

Oh @MooBaggage, that's just so good to read! I'm so glad it's having such positive effects for you.

And @InfoSecInTheCity just WOW! I think we must be about the same height (I'm around 5'10"). I still have a couple of stone to go but I'm just plodding on...

InfoSecInTheCity · 08/03/2025 22:04

Thank you all!

So have spent a bit of time this evening looking back at my tracker.

Heaviest weight I have on record was a few years ago, 271 lbs, BMI 41.2 I am currently 38% (104lbs/47kg) less than I was then.

Since Sept last year I’ve lost 23% of my bodyweight, 53lbs/ 24kg.

According to a couple of online calculator things the ideal weight for my height (5ft 8) is 141lbs, so I’m using that as my next goal but will see how it goes.

gimmemounjaro · 08/03/2025 22:12

I'm 5'9 and I think I would be super skinny at 141lbs. A friend has already advised not to lose too much more and I'm at 179! But firstly who knows - I have never been below 12 stone as an adult. And secondly I might be a lot older than you, I think as you get older you need a bit more weight than when younger iykwim.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 09/03/2025 02:53

@InfoSecInTheCity wow that's amazing. You've reached the dream of "normal". I have. A lot to lose (like still need to lose 9.5 to get to normal) but hearing people who are there make it seem possible.

I am so happy on MJ but now and then get The Fear that it will just stop working. I think thats why I've come round to the idea of staying in a dose for a while. I'm happy with 1kg a week but I would love it to be more....

@MooBaggage Yay!! I haven't walked 10000 steps yet but Being Able To Walk has been truly life hanging. And I'm not quite sure how. I've only lost 1.5stone and I had my walking problems at this weight before so it isn't the weight. MJ is doing some other magic. Chatgpt suggested it might be reducing inflammation (although gp blood test showed inflammation all over the shop-mayve it was worse 2 months ago!) or improving circulation and getting oxygen to the muscles. Either way it doesn't hurt in my legs and hip or lower back tk walk. My life had become so small with planning not having to walk to far.

I took one of my kids for a 15min walk round the block last night as I just in awe I can do it!! I have a gentle hours walk planned for tomorrow. I am almost scared of losing this ability!!

I would have taken the drug just for this.

Ke11 · 09/03/2025 12:15

Hi all, checking in again. Just done dose 2 of 5mg and so far it's going well with minimal side effects. I'm hoping 5 works well and I can stay on it for a while.

Sw: 116.5kg
Cw: 108.3kg
Loss this week: 1kg

Total loss so far: 8.2kg (18lb/1st 4lb)

I'm currently below the lowest recorded weight on my phone which was 108.5 I think. Next goal is to get below 100kg, hoping for this in the next 10ish weeks. I don't remember ever being below 100kg so this may have be as far back as age 13/14.

I'm trying to be a bit less restrictive with my diet now and adding things in slowly. I was a bit worried about side effects so kept things quite simple and plain for a few weeks. I've been out to eat a couple of times without issue and chose and enjoyed a much healthier option and smaller portion than I would have before.

I now have 36.3kg to lose (80lb/5st10lb) which would get me to a bmi of 24.9 and a weight of 72 kg. Honestly that still seems like a fantasy number, but one day it will be real.
