I just realised I was briefly a hair under 13st ten years ago , but that was during a very brief moment in time when sick and practically nobody saw it cos I was ill and after my op i immediately pilled it back on 😅😅 so we pretend that never occurred!!

InfoSecInTheCity · 05/03/2025 08:59

I know what you mean @Darlinghag I am now in the 11s which to me is brain twisting, because I was in the 11s when my mum took me to WW when i was 11 years old!

I as a 41 year old woman weigh about what I did in primary school, how insane is that?

MooBaggage · 05/03/2025 09:08

I'm feeling SO FAT at the moment - which, although true, is ridiculous, because I had to throw away my size 24 work trousers yesterday because they are now officially unwearable - look like clown trousers and keep falling down. I've also got rid of a couple of size 28 tops that were also unwearable. So I reckon I'm now definitely a size smaller, but feel sooooooo BIG.... 🙁 I think maybe it's because I'm having a bit of a shit week, so my mind is piling on with anything it can find to make me more miserable (thanks, mind...). I haven't weighed myself because I'm scared I've put weight on, but food-wise I'm sticking to my usual pattern, so am more likely to have lost a lb or so.

Honestly - the actual eating and going about my life is the easy bit, compared to all the other psychological nonsense..!

Funeral and ex meeting today - roll on bedtime!

@InfoSecInTheCity mad isnt it???

@MooBaggage it will pass. I have had a few struggle moments, where now that I have sized down, clothes dont feel so baggy and might even be tight if i am just moving into the size, and its hard to snap out of that headspace of ‘i need to lose weight’. WE ARE losing weight. It will come. You are in a better position now than you were a few weeks ago, and in a month, you will be in a better position than you are today! X

Keep going

You are amazing

That is serious progress

I never thought I would be rid of my size 26 clothes
They are all binned as they were in pieces

You got this

MooBaggage · 05/03/2025 09:57

Thanks everyone for the lovely responses and apologies I use here as a mind splurge sometimes!

Will weigh myself next week as my aim when I started MJ in January was to have lost 1.5 stone by a long weekend break I'm going on next week. As at last week I'm 1lb away from that, so hopefully have made it 😃

Next aim after that is another 1.5 stone off by a holiday I'm going on with my boys in July!

Sad bastard that I am, I've done a chart of predicted loss over the next 12 months - so far I'm on track (but only 8 weeks in!!).

I find it's useful to always have a stash of Longley Farm cottage cheese in the fridge (just bought another 6 pots yesterday) so that if I'm completely out of inspiration I can just have some veg and that. Luckily I genuinely like it!

I've got quite high suppression right now - I really don't feel like prepping food the first couple of days after my jag. Yesterday I had a tub of the pineapple Longley Farm with a couple of kiwis for breakfast , and lunch was apple, celery & peanut butter.

I need to get back to Morrisons for more Longley.

The great pomegranate hunt continues - not been easy to find the last week or so but I managed to buy 8 in Aldi this morning. In good news my sister tells me everywhere has pomegranates in NZ right now, so I will be going into seasonal pomegranates in a few weeks time.

RobinEllacotStrike · 05/03/2025 10:52

I also purchased a pair of hiking trousers from Aldi.

Size MEDIUM and they fit - bit snug but wearable!!!

<faints>

RobinEllacotStrike · 05/03/2025 11:00

You are dealing with so much @MooBaggage - what a week!

Sometimes we just need to focus on one thing at a time. If I am getting overwhelmed with the thought of all I have to do ahead of me, I try and get really present - allow myself to just deal with the next thing I need to deal with.
One thing at a time.

Moment by moment.

If you can focus on just the one thing without the "thought of all" to come joining in and creating much pressure, things can be easier.

You've got the food and MJ thing all sorted - humming along with you.

If you can avoid pushing the ex down a drainhole the day will be a success.

Take it easy - take permission to breathe and tackle one thing at a time.

Snozzlemaid · 05/03/2025 13:39

Weigh in this morning and I'm 12st 8.1lbs.
Once I get under 12st 8 I will no longer be obese, just overweight!
It's so, so close now. I can barely believe it.

And when I get to 12st 6lbs that will be a 6 stone loss from when I started at the end of May last year.

MJ has truly turned my life around in so many ways.
I need to get to 10st 7 to have a healthy BMI but have faith I can get there.

Rm2018 · 05/03/2025 14:13

Hoping for help!
I have to have an endoscopy next weds and have to stop mounjaro 5 days before so miss my Sunday injection date
Would you skip a full week or move injection date to Thursday?

VelociraptorsVelociRapping · 05/03/2025 14:17

Depends, @Rm2018 - is a Sunday jab date working for you now? Thursday jabs would give you max suppression over the the weekend so it depends if that fits with your preferences. I would personally miss a whole week and keep the Sunday jab date because my prefernce is max suppression in the working week and slightly eased at the weekend.

SilenceInside · 05/03/2025 14:20

I might inject on Thursday or Friday, and then push the injection day a day out each week until it's back to Sunday, assuming you want to keep to the Sunday.

I think I eat too much at weekend sometimes so may be good for extra suppression but I often travel Thursdays so injecting at 4.30am may be a pain!!

Best cottage cheese ever!

Unfortunately I dislike all cheese except halloumi and, even that is a recent discovery. Cottage cheese is an absolute no-no for me 😖

Darlinghag · 05/03/2025 17:19

Has anyone noticed an increase in hair growth on MJ?

I am aware of hair loss due to diet/fast weight loss, but haven’t had too much of that given the pace of my losses but I have so much new regrowth, its probably about 5 months worth.

I have some background in the industry so used to know which meds/illnesses helped growth or made you lose hair but glp1s came round way after I retired out, so out of touch!!

I haven’t found any research that suggests yes, but wondering if you smarter ones had haha!

Iwanttoputmytreeup · 05/03/2025 17:38

Interesting NSW today....had to get tested for fitting of respiratory mask for work today. Original one didn't fit and although the chap didn't know me, suggested probably due to face changing shap if I had lost weight. Second didn't fit either and third one was the "small" version of the one I had had in "medium" in the past...never had small in anything!

InfoSecInTheCity · 05/03/2025 17:51

@QueenOfHiraeth if you haven't tried it I would recommend Longley Farm cottage cheese, only the full fat version though.

I know you say you hate cheese, but honestly this is a completely different beast to all other cottage cheeses I have ever eaten. It's not lumps in thin sour fluid, it's really thick and creamy so that you slice into it with the spoon to get it out of the pot. Not sour at all. It's kind of weird how different it is.

I hvan't noticed hair gain or loss thankfully.

Have you been supplementing with collagen? Isn't that meant to boost hair growth?

I have but the science on collagen boosting hair growth is pretty iffy, theres no real evidence (skin and nails - yes though!)! I think biotin is more effective which I haven’t taken much of (i keep forgetting and havent touched them in months!)

i did find this though, although it makes little sense to me - but seems like yes, it may?

QueenOfHiraeth · 05/03/2025 18:09

@Darlinghag I have only heard MJ mentioned with hair LOSS but I suspect a lot of that is due to, either, nutritional deficiencies, or, a kind of stress effect like the telogen effluvium seen after bariatric surgery and I haven't seen anything regarding the regrowth process
Having said that, I am retired now so may be missing stuff

QueenOfHiraeth · 05/03/2025 18:13

@InfoSecInTheCity I'll add it to the shopping list but will hold you personally responsible if it is vile! Grin

Snozzlemaid · 05/03/2025 19:00

I second the Longley Farm cottage cheese. I was sceptical as I've never been a huge fan of any cottage cheese, but this is almost like a completely different product. It actually tastes like cheese. It's not just a lumpy sour thing like others are.
I'm hooked on it now and stock up every time I go to Asda now.
