@InfoSecInTheCity I'll add it to the shopping list but will hold you personally responsible if it is vile! Grin

I accept the heinous weight of this responsibility 😀

QueenOfHiraeth · 05/03/2025 19:33

@Snozzlemaid "It actually tastes like cheese" is not a selling point to me as I hate cheese! 😂

Arglefraster · 05/03/2025 23:49

Love cottage cheese! Tesco's is good enough for me. BUT I can't get DH or a single child to so much as try it 🤷‍♀️

NSV - I can use the smaller (& nicer) big towels to fully cover myself again 🎉

Hi all, it's been a while and I feel so behind on reading all your posts that i find are so inspiring.

I have been continuing on 4mg

Planning a funeral is such a busy time.
I have been just so sad and eating at times has been so difficult.
I am averaging 3lbs a week loss which for my now 124kg seems ok? That's 12kg in 2 month now.
I do t think my weight loss is that noticeable really, in all the same clothes.

Anyway, I just wanted to say hi.
Can't sleep, worried about the funeral and so so so full and uncomfortable from a curry I had over 4 hours ago.
Gaviscon given minimal relief.

SqueakyDinosaur · 06/03/2025 00:05

12kg in 2 months is very fast! I hope you are feeling some difference even if you aren't seeing it.

Also, hope the funeral goes as well as it can - just remember, the people who come are also wanting to remember and celebrate your person, so they will all be wanting it to be good, too, and to contribute to that.

Mounjaronewbie25 · 06/03/2025 00:15

Hi can I join in? Been lurking on here for a few weeks lol.

Highest weight was 16st 9.5 last year, lost a bit on my own before starting Mounjaro.

Mounjaro start date 15.2.25 at 14st 12

CW - 14st 3
GW - somewhere between 8st 7 and 9st (will see how I look and feel when I get there)

Height 5’4”

Due to take my 4th 2.5mg dose on Saturday, really pleased with 9 pound loss so far.

DP is on the Mounjaro journey with me which has been great for supporting each other. We are getting married this summer so both hoping to be much closer to healthier weights by then!

I have but the science on collagen boosting hair growth is pretty iffy, theres no real evidence (skin and nails - yes though!)! I think biotin is more effective which I haven’t taken much of (i keep forgetting and havent touched them in months!)

i did find this though, although it makes little sense to me - but seems like yes, it may?

If tirzepatide cures baldness we are all doomed.

RobinEllacotStrike · 06/03/2025 09:23

as in - mass shortages and the whole world going even crazier for MJ.

VelociraptorsVelociRapping · 06/03/2025 09:34

@Darlinghag I didn't notice my hair loss until I realised that I had new growth! The loss itself wasn't dramatic, nothing coming out in clumps or anything, just a bit more hair on my brush than normal. I now have loads of baby hairs. It's been very similar to the hair loss I had after both of my pregnancies.

Interesting to see that they have found a link between treating insulin resistance and androgenic alopecia. Other forms of alopecia (ie areata and totalis) are autoimmune conditions, so I wonder if the inflammation control of tirzepatide might be helpful in the same way that some people have reported relief from symptoms of arthritis or psoriasis.

If it cures baldness they'll put it in the water supply Grin

Welcome @Mounjaronewbie25 ! :) well done on your loss so far

Random NSV for me- haven’t really felt like I look any different but I noticed a few of my hoodies and t shirts are randomly longer. Couldn’t figure out why until I realised I must have less belly holding them up 😂

I think it starts higher up - shoulders won't be so broad and back fat is also reduced.

MooBaggage · 06/03/2025 11:00

I've noticed this this week too! Might actually be able to wear my tshirts this summer without pulling them down every 5 minutes..!

CanIGoHomeNowPlease · 06/03/2025 11:06

@Reginaphalangeeeee I know how you're feeling and the stress of planning a funeral. My mum died 17/01/2025 and we had the funeral 14/02/2025. Whilst I was looking forward to getting the funeral out of the way, I felt a little lost afterwards as I had nothing to work towards.

Make sure you have things planned that you can look forward to. It still catches me out daily when I want to call my mum and talk to her about stuff, but you can't grieve every day and you shouldn't feel guilty for laughing and smiling.

I attended another funeral this week that was very emotional - in hindsight I probably shouldn't have gone as it knocked me for six emotionally.

You can get through this.

Evenstar · 06/03/2025 11:07

I have actually got a whole rail of stuff ready to put on Vinted, I have noticed things getting longer to the point that midi dresses are more like maxis, they would probably just be loose further down. I had lost weight prior to MJ, but now up to 16lbs on MJ since the beginning of October and very noticeable on the upper body and arms.

QueenOfHiraeth · 06/03/2025 17:07

Just a word of encouragement to all those who don't "see" the weight loss.
I was beginning to think I was bending the laws of physics as I had lost over 3 stone, was still wearing the same clothes and no-one noticed. Also my lovely friend passed on some clothes she has shrunk out of which fit me, look good and I'm delighted with, apart from the fact that we weigh the same.
However, all of a sudden, I have hit a point where people are noticing and I need to replace my entire wardrobe. I'm not sure how this has all happened in the space of half a stone but it has!

I think we can breathe easy that MJ might not be snapped up just yet for men and baldness, given that the article was based on a sample of one with no control group, phew!

dimples76 · 06/03/2025 18:23

I am feeling very regretful. My stepmother took me out for a belated celebration lunch today and I ate way too much - although less than I would have eaten pre-mounjaro. I feel very uncomfortably full 4 hours later. I seem to be feeling more full as time goes on but I guess that is the meds kicking in. I had my 2nd 5mg injection yesterday. I would have delayed the jab but I thought that we were going to a local cafe where there are lots of salad options but she had booked a lovely fusion restaurant instead.

Other than that I am feeling good, 5 weeks in and I have lost 8 kg. Unfortunately not enough to fit into my smaller clothes but I have just ordered a new bra as I am on the tightest setting and they still feel a bit loose.

I have bought the scales someone recommended up thread and I think will weigh myself more often. I didn't own any scales before and was weighing myself at the gym before my weekly personal trainer session but the weight ins were becoming a big thing in my head.

RobinEllacotStrike · 06/03/2025 20:40

Righty ho @gimmemounjaro 's scales have arrived. What fun!!!

How the heck can they know all this? They must be making outrageous claims ? How reliable is the data on say bone mineralisation (excellent) & protein (low).

My weight and fat levels are as expected (EXTREMELY HIGH) and while I'm in no danger of osteoporosis, the ap advises me I might like to eat less 😂😂😂

Honestly I love them. I can see me starting to weight daily? For the data 📉

It's always fabulous to find a new hobby.

SqueakyDinosaur · 06/03/2025 21:43

"How the heck can they know all this?"

Witchcraft. It's the only reasonable answer.

InfoSecInTheCity · 06/03/2025 21:43

@RobinEllacotStrike I have Eufy scales and weigh daily, the data is wonderful, I love stuff like this, big spreadsheet geek here.

Geeky witchcraft- love it.

MooBaggage · 06/03/2025 22:00

Oh bloody hell I'm going to have to buy some now - and I hate weighing myself!

I have a very old, very bonkers Eufy robot hoover - one of the first models and she skitters around crashing into things and hoovering the same places over and over whilst missing everywhere else out. I love her so much 😁

Mine refuses to connect to his internet any more, so I can't do the godlike thing of hoovering while abroad, but yes, I still love him.

Yours is the first one I've been aware of that's female - loads of people seem to give them male names (hope over experience?). Mine is called Prosser, because of Oofy Prosser in PG Wodehouse.

MooBaggage · 06/03/2025 22:55

Mine is Buffy (the crumb slayer) 😁

Thank you @CanIGoHomeNowPlease

It's been a really hard day. Agree now funeral done today there is a void of 'what next'. Unsure how long I should take off work.
Sleep is tricky. Eating tricky-mounjaro or grief.

With family over been eating late and out for meals. Result : so full at bed time and uncomfortable!!
