I jabbed yesterday morning, and had a bad headache all day but otherwise haven’t felt any different. Despite knowing this is just the 2.5 and therefore I shouldn’t expect any impact yet, still I was kind of hoping I’d be one of the ones who felt the suppression immediately. I went to bed hungry and have woken up hungry. Shame.

I know I just need to be patient, and at least my excitement about this working long term means I do have enough of my own willpower to keep at it, but now feel like I’m already counting down the days to the next jab to hope that gives me a bit more of a boost.

Good luck to everyone jabbing today ❤️

I’m doing my second jab today once I’ve woken up and had plenty of water etc. My first week has been ok (weigh in pending!) I don’t feel like I’ve had massive suppression, I’ve felt hungry at times but I think the jab has helped me make the right decisions in terms of what and how much to eat to hopefully be in calorie deficit.
Am keen to see what jab 2 brings 😊

unicornsaremagical · 11/01/2025 08:09

mine is due to arrive today so i’m super nervous. From experience is stomach or thigh better? and are the instructions easy?

Jjsmum2007 · 11/01/2025 08:24

SW 12 st 6½ 174½ lb
CW 12 st 3½ 171½ lb
GW 10st 0 lb

Jabbed first one Thurs 8.30pm, ate 1500 cals between 8am and 6pm yesterday (tracked), sipped on 2 litres+ of flavoured water all day. No side effects yet. Suppression feeling is very strange isn't it! Well for me it is 🤣 like I can feel the hunger deep.down a little, but my stomach is saying to my brain nah you're not really hungry and it's quite easy to ignore! After dinner the kids got the biscuits and millionaire's Shortbread out. I just stared at it and thought eugh no can't eat it. Yet I'm addicted to chocolate and sugar!

Had a cheeky weigh this morning , am on teamrh and meant to weigh every day and take the weekly average. Lost 3lb overnight! Mind you I did have about 10 wees yesterday 🤣

I heard that absorption is better in the stomach, but then side effects can be stronger. Who knows? I went for stomach, wanted to stab the flab 🤣 no side effects but only day 3 for me.

TwinklyUmberTurtle · Yesterday 19:20

Has anyone currently taking MJ felt unwell after a glass of wine?

Yes I found this last night Twinkly. I had a glass of red and felt strange, a bit dizzy at one point. I wondered if it had something to do with BP meds I take as MJ also lowers BP I believe, and the alcohol can do the same. First Friday night in along time I haven’t been able to enjoy a couple of glasses! I think it’s going to help break a long standing habit for me as I do drink more wine than I should.

I did my first jab Thursday morning and follow this thread with interest, really looking forward to shedding the pounds. Starting weight 93kgs, BMI 33 at 5’6” and want to lose 30kg.

Good luck everyone.

NikkiC1975 · 11/01/2025 08:58

Just did my first weigh in after week one and I’ve lost 7.5lbs… I’m delighted as I have an under active thyroid and my period decided to turn up on Thursday so am feeling a bit bloated from that. I had to check about 4 times to make sure.

Im due to do jab 2 (2.5) today so am feeling motivated. The week has been ok for me, no side effects and not 100% appetite suppression just able to make the right choices and say ‘No’ to tasty temptations!

Well done to everyone else on this journey making progress, quick or slow 😊

AmythestBangle · 11/01/2025 08:59

I jabbed on Thursday, last night I got up 3 times to wee in the night, whereas my usual is once. Anyone else had that effect? I wouldn't mind but it was very cold last night!

user1471600203 · 11/01/2025 09:01

Did my first jab last night, after being so worked up about it, it was a bit of an anticlimax! Thought my SW was 76kg but got weighed this morning and I’m significantly more, so glad I’ve chosen to do this! Woke up in the night for a wee but no side effects so far. Jabbed my stomach.

SW - 80.6kg
GW- 60kg

Kibble29 · 10/01/2025 21:45

Hoping someone with a bit more experience could help me…

I’m on day 3 of week one (2.5mg). Since I started, I’ve had what people would probably consider great suppression, but it’s to the point where I’m managing about 400 cals per day. No breakfast, no lunch, no snacks. I eat dinner (veggies, a form of protein and a form of carbs) but that is literally it.

I think day one was 400 cals, day two I managed 600ish, and tonight it was about 300. I just cannot stomach food.

Your body is trying to adjust to the medication so first few days might a bit tricky with food. I would say try protein milkshakes and eat even if you are not hungry. Second week was a lot easier for me with food so now I am trying to stick to 1200-1300 kcal per day. If you still not feel like eating after week or two then maybe go with a lower dose. Hope this helps.

Ahbist0 · 11/01/2025 10:36

I’m trying to get this way of eating right from the get go and apparently it is important to not drop calories too much or you risk mucking about with your metabolism cos it tries to balance with the fewer calories. So trying a smaller eating window and only a small drop in calories though I’m finding it tricky cos I get a full feeling so quickly! Just wondered if anyone was trying this as well and had any tips? So many ways of doing this weight loss malarkey but would welcome any top recipe suggestions.

MissPobjoysPonies · 11/01/2025 10:55

So I’ve done my 3rd jab.

ive also weighed and I’m sad to say I’m disappointed! If you take my starting weight in 27/12 -13st10.6lbs, wk 2 3/1/25 - 13st 10.2lbs to wk 3 10/1/25 13st 9.2lbs. In 14 days I’ve lost 1lb 4oz whilst sticking to a calorie deficit and on mounjaro. What is going on? I have lost 7lbs since 17/12 BUT the majority of that was prior to taking M so I’m befuddled and disappointed when everyone has been having such amazing losses!

I know I shouldn’t be and I was upbeat last week about it but today I feel
a bit scammed by my own body. 🥲

AmythestBangle · 11/01/2025 11:13

I wouldn't get disappointed yet, assuming you are on 2.5, apparently some people need to get to higher doses to see significant change.

Cazs818 · 11/01/2025 11:15

Due 2nd jab Wednesday

sw 13st 11
week 1 calorie counting 13st 8lb
week 2 calorie counting 13st 6lb
week 3 ( midweek ) 2.5ml mj 13st 0.5LB

10.5LB loss so far

I’ve stupidly reordered 2.5mg 🫣

I can understand you being disappointed and it is so difficult to not compare yourself to other people BUT you may well have much less to lose or maybe you store less glycogen than people with bigger initial losses. You may need a higher dose to get on your way so next month might be bingo for you! I’ve read so many threads where the slow starters eventually overtake everyone in the end. Your weight is going down so try to keep the faith- don’t let this derail you so early on.

ParisinSpring25 · 11/01/2025 11:43

Started with my first jab last night before bed , 2.5mg mounjaro
Pen had been in the fridge for a week as I was nervous about side effects but fine so far!

Seaitoverthere · 11/01/2025 11:43

Agree with @Ahbist0 , lots of reasons why it could be and it is very early days. Weight loss is not linear and there will be weeks when we’ll stay the same or put in which is completely normal.

Look at the overall trend @MissPobjoysPonies and yours is that you have lost 7lbs in 3.5 weeks so are losing around 2lbs a week. Yes some was pre Mounjaro but if you had started injecting at the same time as you started calorie counting you would have done that and at a guess felt happy with half a stone in 7 weeks? I’m at 3.4lbs in 2 weeks and unlikely to be at 7lbs down in another week but that’s fine as those smaller amounts add up over time.

Find something that weighs that amount and try carrying it for a bit and see how you feel.

Mounjarry · 11/01/2025 11:53

Managed 2 eggs, 2 breadsticks and collagen coffee this morning, honestly wild how I've not thought of food and not have the urge to pick up a snack at football- thankfully stomach feels okay now so hopefully worst of the side effects over for now...

JoJothegerbil · 11/01/2025 11:54

My Zava order has gone awol. I was approved on Monday with an estimated delivery of Tuesday to Friday.

Zava didn’t dispatch until Thursday and RM wrongly routed the parcel. It’s now stuck in the system either no updates so I doubt it’s going to get here before Monday now. I’m guessing it’ll be no good as it will have been out of the cold chain for 4 days?

So annoying as I was gearing up to start this weekend and now it’ll probably be another week to wait.

MissPobjoysPonies · 11/01/2025 12:05

Thanks all 🎉 I’ll keep at it as something has to happen at some point 🤣 it’s just tricky when everyone else loses so quickly BUT I still have to remind myself that this has often happened when I’ve attempted to diet so I shouldn’t be too surprised and then I suddenly wake up and discover I have lost a fair amount 🤔

And it is still half a stone!

MirrorMirror00 · 11/01/2025 12:11

Jab 3 due tomorrow, feeling a bit hungry today so looking forward to getting the appetite suppression back. Haven't weighed this week, interested to see the scales tomorrow but worried that I'll be disappointed if I haven't lost.

Ordered my second pen earlier in the week, it arrived 2 days later. Went for the 5mg!

Therealmetherealme · 11/01/2025 12:12

Sorry added to old thread

Ordered my second pen (5mg) this morning with MedExpress, around 09:30 and it's already been dispatched!

Waffles21 · 11/01/2025 12:13

Hi @JoJothegerbil how frustrating! I had the same with a delivery from another provider where Royal Mail sent it to the wrong delivery centre. It arrived 2 days later so really hope yours arrives soon. It’s so annoying when you’re geared up to start 😖
@MissPobjoysPonies i understand your disappointment too, and I doubt anything any of us say will change that as all you want is for the pounds to go, especially when you’re trying so hard 😔but hopefully your body will find that woosh soon and the pounds will melt, have you measured yourself?
I'm on day 3 here and feel no different in all
honesty! I’ve been calorie counting since NYD and am determined but couldn’t say there is any difference at all from
pre mj, so guess I’m a need 5mg girl!

happy weekend everyone and good luck!

Zempy · 11/01/2025 12:53

I’m on day three of first pen and definitely feeling suppression.

I need to go shopping in next couple of days and stock up on protein as all the eggs are probably adding to my slight constipation.

Someone upthread asked about exercise. I have hypermobility and arthritis so am very limited in that respect. Sometimes I have to use a wheelchair. So, I am really diet dependent when losing weight.

I have lost 2.5 pounds since injecting Weds night and am happy with that.

Happytoday69 · 11/01/2025 12:59

End of week 3 for me and another 2lbs off so 9lbs in total. Looking at my Fitbit most of that drops off in the first few days - that makes sense as I definitely need more willpower towards the end of the week. I’ve ordered another 2.5 pen as I’m very happy with how it’s going 😁. This is the lowest I’ve been in 5 years despite an almost constant diet.
