SW 12 st 6½ 174½ lb
CW 12 st 3½ 171½ lb
GW 10st 0 lb

Jabbed first one Thurs 8.30pm, ate 1500 cals between 8am and 6pm yesterday (tracked), sipped on 2 litres+ of flavoured water all day. No side effects yet. Suppression feeling is very strange isn't it! Well for me it is 🤣 like I can feel the hunger deep.down a little, but my stomach is saying to my brain nah you're not really hungry and it's quite easy to ignore! After dinner the kids got the biscuits and millionaire's Shortbread out. I just stared at it and thought eugh no can't eat it. Yet I'm addicted to chocolate and sugar!

Had a cheeky weigh this morning , am on teamrh and meant to weigh every day and take the weekly average. Lost 3lb overnight! Mind you I did have about 10 wees yesterday 🤣

Hi @Jjsmum2007 I'm close behind you, I did my first jab yesterday (friday 10th) in the evening, and have felt very clearly non-hungry since yesterday! Very very strange. I keep saying to myself 'this must be placebo' but even if it is placebo I'm very pleased.

This morning I woke up, had my normal black coffee. Then said ok I'd better have some breakfast (as I had to work 4 hours this morning). I really really wasn't bothered though. I thought i'd have yoghurt & some nuts, that's a nutritious choice that I often have ... but had no yoghurt in the house. I think at this point the normal 'me' would just grab a bagel (that we did have) & gobble it down. I wasn't even tempted!! I kept checking this with myself, a bit unbelieving, and no, I wasn't tempted.

Eventually I got 3 clementines, said to myself ok I'd better eat something. I managed to eat only 1.

Then a bit later in the morning - in between appointments - I ate a protein bar (TREKK). This was purely a decision - I'd better eat something kind of feeling - rather than I need this / I want this. Again, very very strange. Will it last?

The one symptom I did notice is that after the protein bar for a couple of hours, I had the jitters, a bit like a sugar rush, a bit like that excited feeling we get? Has anyone had that? I wonder if Mounjaro (which I take) means that we are then likely more sensitive to sugary things like that? It wasn't necessary unpleasant, more like a rush of a bit too much energy, but with plenty of water it eventually went. Next time I eat something sweet I'll make sure I have protein with it.

It's now 1 pm, lunchtime, and no hunger at all. It's all very bizarre to me.

Just sharing this initial experience of my first day in case anyone is about to start. So far so good with me. No other side effects apart from a slightly bloated & burpy feeling, but totally manageable.

So I’ve done my 3rd jab.

ive also weighed and I’m sad to say I’m disappointed! If you take my starting weight in 27/12 -13st10.6lbs, wk 2 3/1/25 - 13st 10.2lbs to wk 3 10/1/25 13st 9.2lbs. In 14 days I’ve lost 1lb 4oz whilst sticking to a calorie deficit and on mounjaro. What is going on? I have lost 7lbs since 17/12 BUT the majority of that was prior to taking M so I’m befuddled and disappointed when everyone has been having such amazing losses!

I know I shouldn’t be and I was upbeat last week about it but today I feel
a bit scammed by my own body. 🥲

@MissPobjoysPonies my pharmacy said at 2.5 MJ we shouldn't expect great suppression or weight loss so I would give it some time - also you did lose some weight, just not that much, so it's worth persevering I would say.

ParisinSpring25 · 11/01/2025 11:43

Started with my first jab last night before bed , 2.5mg mounjaro
Pen had been in the fridge for a week as I was nervous about side effects but fine so far!

@ParisinSpring25 good luck! I also did my first jab last night (friday) so we are on the same timeline, let's hope it goes well!

Mounjarry · 11/01/2025 11:53

Managed 2 eggs, 2 breadsticks and collagen coffee this morning, honestly wild how I've not thought of food and not have the urge to pick up a snack at football- thankfully stomach feels okay now so hopefully worst of the side effects over for now...

This!

I find it so so weird today that I felt no urges for food at all @Mounjarry . I keep saying to myself this must be placebo. But then again it's a real true medicine that is supposed to have these effects so even if some of it is placebo, clearly it's working in the way it's supposed to be working too!

Bucket07 · 11/01/2025 13:33

Week 2 day 2- suppression has finally begun! I posted before to say they even though I know it can take time, I was disappointed I didn't notice anything happening in week 1. Anyway- it's started! Didn't eat any breakfast (which is normal for my anyway) but now it's lunchtime and I'm forcing down a little bowl of soup, because I feel I should eat. Tummy feeling full and bloated but I'll definitely take that over feeling hungry! Have also weighed myself and despite not noticing any suppression, have lost 5 pounds! Probably because I was about to start my period at the first weigh in, but I'll take it.

I would highly recommend teamrh due to the fact that they have a specific mounjaro program with cals protein etc worked out for you. The PT Richie (top man in charge) took mounjaro himself and then did a study with staff and members also taking it and developed a plan from there. The whole point of this for me is not to be the sole method of weight loss but just as a side boost as I think that will enable me to not stay reliant on it forever. Teamrh really helps with that as it educates cals in vs cals out and how exercise and steps affect the amount of cals we need. I also believe it's useful for preventing the side effects as I track all food and stops me going too low on cals.

JabberLass · 11/01/2025 14:08

Joining too, please. Ozempic for me and had my first jab lunchtime Thursday. Not feeling super hungry but otherwise nothing very much to report. Had already started dry January so am putting my modest weight loss down to that.
Hoping that things will speed up soon as impatient to lose 18kgs by next weekend 😊

Gintime74 · 11/01/2025 14:17

My pens have just arrived! I am planning to do the first one tomorrow night before bed. Hopefully there wont be too many side effects as i will be up for work at 4.30am monday. I would have liked to start today but a friend is cooking for me and i will have a couple of glasses of wine.

mince3point14159265 · 11/01/2025 14:25

Third jab today.
SW:15.13.0
LW: 15.8.0
CW: 15.4.8

My weight has stayed the same for the last 4 days so I was feeling a little disheartened, but then thought no, I've lost 3.2lbs in a week and should be quite happy with that! I thought maybe it would show on the tape measurement to give myself a little boost that way, but that's the same as it was, which is bizarre as I've had to tighten my jeans belt by 2 holes. I think we all understand how annoyingly random dieting can be!
I am normally a breakfast person and always have a sensible breakfast to try not to make silly choices when hungry later (who am I trying to kid!). Since taking this I have not felt at all hungry all morning and have kind of slipped into a 16:8 thing with just 2 sensible meals. Not at all tempted to pick like I usually would, not even the late night munchies whilst watching tv!
I would say, even if you haven't remembered to measure at the beginning, do it now as at some point things will have changed and it will be great to see the difference.

SENlife · 11/01/2025 14:37

@stilllovingmysleep I started last night too. Not felt hungry at all since, didn't even have my bedtime snacks, still.not eaten now 🤦🏻‍♀️ feel a bit nauseous and just full in general.
I have had alot of experience with Hyperemesis Gravidarum so I am curious as to whether it's because my body found it easy to slip into suppression

Ohyay · 11/01/2025 14:39

Update. Jabbed Thursday morning. Thursday evening felt a little off but nothing major. Woke up Friday morning and normally id be starving (well, my version of) but didnt feel like eating. Had lunch all fine. Appetite suppression definitely kicked in which im suprised at after 3 days. I am a diet coke addict and in 3 days ive had 1 can. Very odd.

So far so good. For any new starters I was anxious to jab for the first time convinced myself I would be that one person who ends up getting air lifted to hospital.

Good luck all.

sociallydistained · 11/01/2025 14:50

First weigh in and 5lb off!! So happy. Plus I did all my measurements on my new smart measuring tape and I'm so glad I did!

9cm off my waist
4.5cm off my hips
3cm off chest
6cm off one thought and 5 the other
2cm off neck 😂

I forgot my arms! But feeling motivated! I would have got my order in for my second pen now med express have said I can but car troubles today I'll have to wait 😩 I am planning on doing the 5th dose though so buys me some more time hopefully.

Sorry added to old thread

Ordered my second pen (5mg) this morning with MedExpress, around 09:30 and it's already been dispatched!

Mine too! I thought I'd order early as read some people have had issues, just had the email to say it's coming tomorrow.

Kibble29 · 10/01/2025 21:45

Hoping someone with a bit more experience could help me…

I’m on day 3 of week one (2.5mg). Since I started, I’ve had what people would probably consider great suppression, but it’s to the point where I’m managing about 400 cals per day. No breakfast, no lunch, no snacks. I eat dinner (veggies, a form of protein and a form of carbs) but that is literally it.

I think day one was 400 cals, day two I managed 600ish, and tonight it was about 300. I just cannot stomach food.

I can't relate to this because I don't have suppression like this. My day one of jab is the highest and on that day I can do 1200 calories okay. Most other days I have 1500 and want the food. My food noise and obsession around food is gone and I think I'd struggle with not being able to eat like this. I think you should stay on 2.5 longer in this case. I hope it eases up.

sociallydistained · 11/01/2025 15:10

That's great Medexpress are dispatching so quick. Have you both ordered 5mg or 2.5 again? As I wondered if maybe it's just the starter dose having delays.
I got some credit through a friend using my code so but could still do with waiting a bit to order!

I ordered the 5mg, as it's no more expensive and I don't feel much appetite suppression. I ordered the 2.5 from them in December. I think already being approved and the 5 probably help for speed.

JabberLass · 11/01/2025 15:22

I can’t find any Ozempic .5mg - can I simply inject .25 twice?

JoJothegerbil · 11/01/2025 16:11

My pen finally turned up today despite RM tracking having gone rogue. Have told DH and he was a bit concerned that it wasn't legit for some reason. I've reassured him that I've been prescribed it and not bought it from some underground dealer!

Think I'm going to inject tomorrow evening. I have a night away with dinner next Saturday and while I don't want to eat stupidly, I would like to enjoy something.

Jins · 11/01/2025 17:40

First jab yesterday for me. No discernible side effects but obviously it’s early days. Slept incredibly well last night and have felt sleepier than normal today but I’m an insomniac with sleep apnea so it could be part of my ‘normal’ Don't feel especially hungry but definitely feel the need to eat. Haven’t felt the urge to snack though.

I’ve thought long and hard about this. My weight has crept up over the last five or six years and shifting it has been very difficult due to dietary restrictions imposed by my consultant. I do very well on carb controlled diets which suggests insulin resistance but I’m on a vaguely FODMAP low fibre diet which means I’m eating all the things that made me gain in the first place. I’ve a BMI of 28 but the body fat measurements of a much higher BMI. Coupled with the sleep apnea it was considered worth a try (but not enough to prescribe 🤣)

So sorry you're having such a rough time with it. Really bad stomach pain was on the list of symptoms to contact doctor about so you're doing the right thing.
Keep up your water intake as best you can.
Does it feel like trapped wind pain or different?

Mounjarry · 11/01/2025 18:00

Yes it's trapped wind-like with nausea and that feeling of needing to sit on the loo and feeling hot and a bit faint, wind tablets havent worked. Just so uncomfortable as well- shifts between constipation and diarrhea. I know it's fairly uncommon so not writing this to scare people, I'll see what the provider says and go from there. I'm not concerned it's super serious if that makes sense but just so horrible, in the bathroom with a duvet currently!

Ugh god you poor thing. One thing that I've found has helped me in past with terrible trapped wind (I had the worst ever following a gynae surgery) was to lean forward on my forearms over a kitchen counter or bathroom sink and stick my bum right out and then sway my hips side to side for 5 mins or so.
I found that helpful too during labour with both my kids incidentally and trapped wind pain can deffo be on par with those latent labour pains!

Sorry you're not feeling great. I did read somewhere that it can be helpful to take paracetamol in the first couple of days/ a week to help ease into it a bit. May be worth a try?
