Had a sneaky try on of the jeans I couldn't do up last week, and I could do them up 🥳🤯 I haven't done measurements, now I wish I had...

Some great results here.

I'm running and doing weights alongside this, and using myfitnesspal.

SENlife · 10/01/2025 18:47

Yay! Are you planning on doing it today?

TwinklyUmberTurtle · 10/01/2025 19:20

Has anyone currently taking MJ felt unwell after a glass of wine?

IdentityCrisis101 · 10/01/2025 19:28

I haven't had any alcohol yet, but I have seen that it can make you feel crap and have strong effects, so I am apprehensive to have any.

As a side, I am having trouble with delivery via royal mail. They are blaming the snow for lack of deliveries however Evri, DpD and amazon all managed today! Getting a little cheesed off about it now.

tinyemmy · 10/01/2025 19:35

Bellabluea · 10/01/2025 17:42

Im on day 2 and feel similar. I felt quite suppressed yesterday but today I’m really hungry! That said, I have no desire for anything sweet and I’m craving cheese (bizarre as I usually eat vegan food!).
I had soup today but instead of filling the bowl up and getting seconds I only had half a bowl with a protein bagel and was fine.
it’s like I could eat more but it’s really easy not to whereas before I would have to use a ton of willpower.
So weird!
Scales after 1 day say I’m 1.8 kg down which is nice and motivating!

Well done, I've just been eating "normally" but I've also joined Slimming World as I desperately want to lose weight so I'm following that and I seem to be able to follow it easily, sometimes I can but then after a while will go on a binge.
Although I feel like it isn't doing anything, I'm hungry but not trying to gnaw off my arm, I'm able to sit with it and wait until dinner. Although how much of that is because I so want this to work who knows!

tinyemmy · 10/01/2025 19:37

Mounjarry · 10/01/2025 18:13

I'm finding the same, wasn't sure if psychological as only the first day but even if it is all good! Haven't been tempted to snack and took me a while to decide what I fancied for dinner whereas usually anything seems appealing!

Does anyone have any grocery must buys? Have an order coming Sunday morning!

I like arla protein yoghurts, but still very early days for me so hoping others post.
I've heard huel mentioned but I saw it was 400 cals and I'd much prefer to eat my food!

stilllovingmysleep · 10/01/2025 19:51

Eek!!! Just did my first dose. It came half an hour ago in the post and I just went for it. Slightly nervous now but que sera sera.

Mounjarry · 10/01/2025 19:12

I wasn't sure but just took the plunge and did it 😂 was slightly apprehensive at the needle part but didn't even feel it.

notanothernamechange24 · 10/01/2025 20:11

Today is day 2 for me (injected Wednesday pm) so far no side effects. Not noticed a massive difference in my appetite. Maybe slightly reduced.
Hoping it will kick in a bit more soon!

RamsayBoltonsConscience · 10/01/2025 20:27

Wk 2, day 5 No weight loss this week - very strange. Have watched the calories so haven't overeaten!

cloudjumper · 10/01/2025 21:09

Oooh, thread 2, nice! I'm now on week 2, day 3. Still not feeling hungry, not bothered about food, having to remind myself to eat, love it.
Had a mild headache in the morning for the last few days, but it's totally manageable. The cold is making it difficult to keep up
my water intake, and that seems to lead to constipation - need to watch that.

I have discovered Kefir - they do a low fat protein yoghurt that has a lot of protein per pot (30g). Great for breakfast!
I've now told my gym coach I'm doing MJ - I'm joining a focus programme at my gym
on Monday, and wanted to be transparent. He's very curious to hear about it all Smile but has no issue with me joining the programme - it focuses on building good eating and exercising habits, so should not be affected by MJ, just easier (I hope/expect). My problem isn't that I don't eat well, I just eat too much and without thought.

Chazzadc · 10/01/2025 21:40

Posted in other group.
Week 1 complete 8lb loss.
5 meals of 7 av went for gusto as calories etc all worked out on the recipe cards which is great some meals av switched it up av had salad gave other half rice or made seasonal roast veg instead of potatoes just what a think my stomach would have handled better at the time. Work today iv walked nearly 20k steps been off rest of week so only time av really exercised tbf but have 2yr old who has me on my toes all day. Iv had great suppression full week missed few meals so need to get in habit of even settin alarm for even somethin small been within my calories and drinking plenty of water. Today at work eatin wise had a whey clear protien 1000ml then lunch couldn't manage anything dinner i had protien bagel with ham n philladelphia (struggled with 4 chicken satay skewers. Hospital worker always on my feet so I really need to try better eating habits especially at work. But all in all good week mild headaches but more energy good suppression hoping long may it continue 🙏

Kibble29 · 10/01/2025 21:45

Hoping someone with a bit more experience could help me…

I’m on day 3 of week one (2.5mg). Since I started, I’ve had what people would probably consider great suppression, but it’s to the point where I’m managing about 400 cals per day. No breakfast, no lunch, no snacks. I eat dinner (veggies, a form of protein and a form of carbs) but that is literally it.

I think day one was 400 cals, day two I managed 600ish, and tonight it was about 300. I just cannot stomach food.

workingbalance · 10/01/2025 22:11

Hi, joining in with you all. Took my first dose Tuesday morning and have 100% had complete appetite suppression. Like Kibble29, having to remind myself to eat and then only managing such small amounts. Plus a fair whack of all of the ‘might happen’ symptoms! Sulphate burps have hit me hard today (sorry for TMI ) Obviously what I want to happen, to curb those hunger feelings but I’m not sure if I’m going to want to increase the dosage as this reaction is plenty to manage!

My friend who started last Saturday has had no symptoms and was feeling normal hunger by Wednesday. I guess we all react differently.

Anyway, I’m aiming to lose 15kgs (which will only put me back to my full term pregnancy weight with my first 🙄) but I need to as I’m such an apple shape and I’ve a strong family history of close relatives having fatal strokes in their fifties…

I have to say what an absolute relief it is to not constantly have the hunger chatter going in in my head when I know there’s absolute no reason to be hungry. Aiming to learn to better manage that as I progress through this journey.

So here’s to a successful downward journey for us all!

Shirtyllama · 10/01/2025 23:06

Hello, joining here to try and make myself accountable! Did first jab today, don't feel less hungry yet but it's only been a few hours...
SW 86kg
GW 62kg which would be BMI of 23 and I'd be delighted

TicTac80 · 10/01/2025 23:20

Forgot to add water %.
Last Friday it was 43.6%. This morning, 44.1%.

Maybe the 2.5 is a bit strong for you asap starting dose so you could try a smaller dose (by measuring clicks) next time you jab. Your calories are very low so you could maybe try a protein shake, just a small glass a couple of times a day to up it a bit? I’d also make sure you take multivitamins or similar so you can keep functioning. And keep drinking water too.

It’ll probably wear off a bit in a couple of days so hopefully you’ll be able to eat more but make sure you look after yourself in the meantime.

Mounjarry · 11/01/2025 02:53

Having a bit of a rough night but manageable- I'm really warm and feeling a bit nauseous, had to go to the loo a few times. Thankfully seems to have passed although I'm wide awake (not overly unusual for me).

EverybodySayCheeze · 11/01/2025 05:40

I jabbed yesterday morning, and had a bad headache all day but otherwise haven’t felt any different. Despite knowing this is just the 2.5 and therefore I shouldn’t expect any impact yet, still I was kind of hoping I’d be one of the ones who felt the suppression immediately. I went to bed hungry and have woken up hungry. Shame.

I know I just need to be patient, and at least my excitement about this working long term means I do have enough of my own willpower to keep at it, but now feel like I’m already counting down the days to the next jab to hope that gives me a bit more of a boost.

Good luck to everyone jabbing today ❤️

2catsand2kids · 11/01/2025 07:06

I’ve just done jab 2. This week has gone pretty well, I’ve definitely felt suppression but could still eat three small meals a day. I’ve not been calorie counting, just eating sensible small meals with lots of veg and protein and no snacking. I did have some birthday cake as it was my sons birthday (and I’d made it and whilst my DH knows I’m doing this my DC don’t, they just think I’m eating much better to try and lose weight) which was lovely and I managed to have a much smaller piece than I would have done previously and felt very satisfied (and no ill effects from the rich cake).

In terms of side effects they’ve been very minimal, I had a slight headache on the first couple of days, but I also had a bit of a cold so it was hard to know if that was related. I also felt I was verging on the edge of indigestion quite a bit this week and was definitely burping slightly more (but not sulphur burps). In terms of the suppression it lasted pretty well all week up until yesterday where it definitely had lessened and it took more willpower to not eat too much.

Numbers wise:
SW: 15 11.5
CW: 15 6.25 so 5.25lb loss this week which I’m really pleased with (but very aware this will now slow down).
GW: 12 7

Interestingly my measurements haven’t changed at all but that will come I’m sure. At some point soon I’ll have to order my next pen and decide whether to go up to 5 or stay on 2.5, I guess I’ll see how this week goes. Good luck everyone, some great results going on.

Mounjarry · 11/01/2025 07:12

My night didn't get much better, got back to sleep for an hour or so and had a really vivid dream about my dad who died a few years ago so woke up really sad :( had to go to the bathroom several times and had the noro type feeling where you feel lightheaded, nauseous and hot whilst needing to be on the loo. Feel a bit better now I'm up and about, made sure to sip on plenty of water and had a breadstick. Have to take DS to football in a bit so hoping all good.

I did have a moment of why did I do this to myself, but I knew it was possible and tbh I've had some ill effects and feeling like crap from being overweight. Still feeling positive and know it'll hopefully be worth it in the long run!

olivietolivie · 11/01/2025 07:44

Second injection done today however I probably shouldn't have done it as soon as I woke up and whilst feeling groggy as I think I buggered it up! I injected as usual but then for some reason felt too cack handed to do the plunger so I twisted the pen and then plunged. There was liquid going down my tummy after so I'm not actually sure I injected any. Bugger. Expensive mistake and not sure what to do about it.

Up until then my first week was good

SW: 16 stone 0
CW: 15 stone 9
GE: 10 stone (but I can only afford a few months on MJ so I won't reach this fully on MJ)

Changingnameagain · 11/01/2025 07:51

Another 1lb off today so total loss 12lbs in 10 days.
Although I'm super pleased with these results I hadn't seen any shift at all on my measurements so far.
However as of this morning I can say 2 inches off my waist and half an inch off my thighs.
I'm going to start measuring my bum and tummy from this week too. Boobs also feel smaller and look smaller in my bra cup so I'm hoping for a shift downwards in size here too. I'm currently a 40-42DD and would love to be a 36D or 36C again at some point!
