Welcome all December 2024 starters, and November and January starters too😊. As we're almost at the end of the first thread, I thought to start a new one before it finishes.

I have also been very ill since taking 5mg on Thursday

Cold, tired, nausea, watery diarrhea keeping me up all night.

Just managed a small bowl of soup and feeling slightly better

I am wondering if it is norovirus combined with mounjaro. The gym I have joined is pretty scummy, though I was careful to wash my hands afterwards I still touched my phone to change the music etc.

Still I going back down to 2.5mg next week and will see what happens.

Similar here. I took the 2.5 bonus dose on Weds which I think was quite a lot. Side effects kicked in at the same time as a sore throat, cough and flu like symptoms. Then I was also horrifically constipated so resorted to dulcolax but they have made me feel worse with pains, nausea and now diarrhoea.

I now don’t know what has been caused by the injection, the virus or the sodding laxatives but I’ve had bloody awful weekend.

Oh gosh I've done something so stupid, I've totally binged on chocolate 200g, and I've had a bag of sweets too, I'm so cross at myself as I haven't binged at all since I started. I took my 6th injection on Friday, moved up to 3.75mg, and yesterday I felt pretty rough but managed to do 1000 calories. Today I started well good breakfast and lunch, but then thought I'd have a bit of chocolate I got for Christmas, but once I started I couldn't stop. Feeling a little bloated and now worried I'm going to be ill later, feel so deflated and disappointed with myself Confused

Goinghome20 · 12/01/2025 16:57

Sorry to hear some of you are feeling poorly. That is rubbish. Hopefully its just a bug and youll feel better soon.

One off binge shouldnt make a big difference over a week. Hope youll swerve any bad effects.

My first 3.75mg is working but not a big supressiion so I am tracking. Could eat a bit more but I am stopping myself! Whar I am finding though is that I have so much less energy on MJ. Could it juat be the cold and time of year though?

I wasn't too sure if this could be extended if yoy kept it in the fridge and were super vigilant with hygiene?

I know it's 30 days once it's out of the fridge.

I decided to go with the 5mg and feel so ill today. I dont know if it's the flu or the jab yesterday. Sweating and completely lost my appetite. I had to force myself to eat today. Anyone else had anything like this? I'm going with the flu.

I dont keep mine in fridge after its opened as I have nosy teengers who constantly use chat gpt!

Interesting that someone upthread has a provider that says it is ok though.

Please don't beat yourself up over this. It's just one day! You'll get back on track. Drink lots of water just in case.

I'm away to take my second 5mg jab tonight after a slightly decadent roast dinner...I've had almost zero side effects over the last week so hoping I get some suppression next week.

saj90 · 12/01/2025 17:28

@Goinghome20 I'm lucky that my daughter is vegetarian so won't go near the meat drawer where I've stashed my pen in Tupperware!

Waymarked7 · 12/01/2025 18:33

Some great progress for people over the last few weeks.

I've definitely noticed more of an appetite over last few weeks, this week is my first 5mg one so did think suppression would be stronger.

SW 90kg
CW 83.2kg
GW 75ish kg

Really happy to be 6 kg down, done more exercise the last few weeks as been feeling less tired and light headed, probably because I'm eating more!

Going to take my next 2 doses a day early as going on holiday and don't want to have to take the MJ with me so Tuesday is next dose. Hoping for a bit more suppression next week!

How long are you on holiday for? I am totally on the fence about taking my jab away with me next month. I'm away for 2 weeks

Just 8 days, so was going to take a dose before leaving then one a day late when I get back! 2 weeks is trickier..

Bati · 12/01/2025 21:53

Sorry some are feeling rubbish, hopefully you will feel better soon.

My extremely upset tummy settled down about 2 days before my next injection and after I took some more immodium.

Not wanting a repeat, this week, I did 3.75mg on Friday evening - I have no side effects 😊 however my suppression is not great and the food noise is back.

I have been debating if I should go and inject the other 1.25mg but I am worried I will end up with an upset tummy again if I do that.

Could it be once you move up, going slightly less then means the supression doesn't really work.
Not sure if I should go back to the 5mg next week and risk the side effects 🤔

ThisAmpleFawn · 13/01/2025 04:29

Morning all, weight loss good but side effects (diarrhea) still bad... I get a 2 day attack, 72 hours after each jab (2.5) which I understand is when the drug takes its full effect. Anyways, I would like to not use my first full 5mg dose, as I think I may explode... Can someone send me a link to which spare needles I should buy. I know someone posted it previously but can't find it.
Quite frankly at 1 O'clock in the morning when you are creased up in pain on the loo, I have had enough, but will keep going for at least another 4 weeks to see if I easies at all.
Keep up the good work everyone and thanks for posting your stories and progress. It's keeping me going.

You have my sympathy. I was fine on 2.5mg but moved up to 5mg and had the same and it was awful. If weight lose is currently good can you get a new 2.5mg pen and go even lower?

I am going back to 2.5mg this week (unfortunately didn't have much appetite supression) and then if I don't get side effects will increase very slowly.

glittermittens · 13/01/2025 10:37

Morning everyone. Just wanted to report everything was fine after my silly binge. No side effects apart from feeling bad and really bloated. Won't be repeating though as it didn't make me feel great.

Hope you all have a great week 😊

Omg just weighed myself early this week as I am going away and drumroll...

I am overweight! My BMI is just under 30 I am so happy!

JunoRoma · 13/01/2025 14:43

Well done @Goinghome20 that is great!

My next goal is to get my BMI under 35, but I doubt it will be happening this week. I had a big loss last week so I'm expecting things to slow down this week.
Also my weekend included a cheese-tasting event. Choices were made, and they weren't ones conducive to weight loss. The cheese was amazing though.

shrinkingthiswinter · 13/01/2025 14:58

Urgh I'm finding it difficult to get my digestion in balance. I swing between constipation and having to dash to the loo. Seem to have overdone the fibre and am dashing again today. I never really had to think about my digestion before so this is mildly annoying.

I'm taking probiotics and all that, and chia and linseed seem to help with the constipation, but perhaps will have to go for even smaller quantities.

Sympathy for everyone else suffering digestive ills or being generally poorly!

OrangeDonald · 13/01/2025 14:59

Well done @Goinghome20 , amazing result.

Im still steadily losing just over 1lb a week, so have a long while to go before i drop out of obesity BMI (although ive stayed on 2.5 dose as i feel it is working re appetite suppression).

But ive been going to the gym regularly and today i made it to 30 minutes of non stop cross trainer and didn't feel like i was too puffed out. So for my next challenge I'm going to try and up the resistance by a tiny amount, and slowly build on that. When i started the gym last month i was a hot sweaty mess after 10 minutes.

Ha! I love cheese too and would find it impossible to resist it in that situation!

Im happy but I have have nearly 3 stone to lose to be at a healthy bmi

NeverJustInTime · 14/01/2025 09:37

Hi, I apologise for the long post in advance!

I’m just coming up to finishing my 4th week on 2.5. I’m having really slow losses 1lb a week however this week I have gained 1lb, so now it’s less than 1lb a week.
I have really high suppression each week. I am forcing myself to eat 120g protein every day and keeping fibre up even though I’m not hungry as I’m aware I want to lose this weight healthy and not become malnourished.
I am tracking every calorie, cook everything from scratch, haven’t had any alcohol, weight everything and am averaging 1200 cal a day.
I see on a number of threads people saying they are wanting to increase dose as have stopped losing but I didn’t think it really worked like that if you still have the suppression and are not over eating. I assume a higher dose just helps with the suppression again.
I’m bothered a higher dose will lead to higher suppression and under eating which isn’t my objective.
Does the medication just not work for some people?
I have about 2 1/2 stone to lose and am 35% body fat which is way too high and obviously in the obese category so it’s important to me that this helps me get into a healthy range. Anyone experience similar early on, or have any advise?
Thanks

JunoRoma · 14/01/2025 10:36

@NeverJustInTime with high suppression on 2.5mg I would not be in a rush to move up. I realise it's frustrating when you don't see results on the scales straight away. It sounds as though you are eating as optimally as you can - are you drinking enough water?

JunoRoma · 14/01/2025 10:43

My new year's resolution was to incorporate some strength training into my routine. Having lost 11kg in less than two months, I'm a bit concerned about muscle loss.

Caroline Girvan is often recommended on threads in this section, as well as on Facebook and Reddit, so I decided to try one of her videos today. I'm proud to report that I managed the whole of her five minute warm-up. 💪🏻😂
We all have to start somewhere...

shrinkingthiswinter · 14/01/2025 10:43

@NeverJustInTime did your provider do full blood tests to check thyroid etc before starting? If you are eating that little and not losing, it should probably be looked into.

Is it possible your activity levels are very low? But if you go for another couple of weeks drinking lots water and doing some exercise and still don’t lose, that definitely seems like it needs investigating.

shrinkingthiswinter · 14/01/2025 10:47

Thanks for the tip, @JunoRoma ! I’ll have a look at her videos.

I’m also concerned about muscle loss - I don’t want to lose any at all just before menopause. So I’m on protein shakes as well as upping gym strength training. Think I might even give creatin a go, like my teenagers 😳

Thank you at @JunoRoma yes I’m getting at least 2ltrs a day. I’m with you on not moving up. Just wonder what the heck is wrong with my body! I’ve done calorie deficits before and have lost, but lost muscle, never fat and have never kept it off. Couldn’t believe my eyes that the scales had gone up 😇
