Welcome all December 2024 starters, and November and January starters too😊. As we're almost at the end of the first thread, I thought to start a new one before it finishes.

At least it's working @claudia1994 , even if it sounds a bit dramatic. Are you going to 5mg afterwards even though you've got good suppression now?

I ordered my 5mg pen after debating on here and it's in the fridge, but I'm W4D5 on 2.5mg and the suppression is stronger than it's ever been. I can reorder another pen from MedExpress on the 13th, but worried that won't make it, so I've rang to see if they will let me order another 2.5mg pen tomorrow instead. I've then got to keep everything crossed the hard twist works on Sunday for the bonus dose from my 2.5mg pen to keep me ticking over. I really don't want to step up to 3.75 or 5 right now. I've had 200 cals all day and just made myself have dinner and I really wasn't that bothered.

frogpigdonkey · 09/01/2025 19:50

I weigh every day, as much to see the variation as anything. I do an 'official' weigh in once a week!

frogpigdonkey · 09/01/2025 19:59

My suppression varies a lot so I try to focus on nutrition and overall weekly intake. I don't calorie count because ( like all of us who have been dieting off and on for years!) I have a pretty good idea of what to eat for nutrition. One thing I have noticed though is that I rarely want the really bad food on MJ- it's not that I'm holding off, it simply doesn't appeal. So I'm finding it quite easy to eat the way I need to if I'm going to lose weight. Plus I did one day eat a big and fairly high fat meal and had a bad stomach for a couple of days!

Goinghome20 · 10/01/2025 06:37

@claudia1994 sorry that did make me laugh! Haven't tried my insulin needles yet but that sounds like something that would happen to me too! Glad to hear it has worked for you though..

I tried the hard twist method last week for my first bonus dose but dont think I got much out that way as I didn't get good supressiion last week.

Yesterdaya 3.75mg seems to have done the trick though.

It is interesting how we all have such different experiences.

HesDeadBenYouCanStopNow · 10/01/2025 09:32

Weigh in as I've now completed 5 weeks. I did the bonus dose last week but aimed to keep it at the 2.5 level

SW 14 stone 3.8lb (199.8)
CW 12 stone 10lb (178)
TW 11 stone (154)

I've lost 1 stone 7.8lb (10.9% body weight) and I'm really pleased with progress so far

W1 7lb
W2 4.4lb
W3 2.4lb (Xmas)
W4 3lb
W5 5lb

I'm staying on 2.5mg for now as I don't think I'd be able to eat on 5mg, I've had good suppression throughout

Apart from the burps I've had little in the way of side effects. I upset tummy earlier this week but suspect that was our I'd date food rather than MJ. A couple of days that felt like I'd done sit-ups and a little nausea after dose 2 and 3. All in all this feels like it's working better than I could have ever imagined.

glittermittens · 10/01/2025 10:05

Hey everyone, hope you are all doing ok and side effects are at a minimum.

I did my 6th injection this morning, I've gone up to 3.75mg, so far just a full headache and suppression as expected.

I'm 12lbs down now, a slow and steady pace, but I'm very happy with this.

Height 5.4
SW 14.11.7
CW 13.13.7
GW 11.7

I will see how I feel when I get to 11.7 as may want to lose more, but I also don't want to be too slim either.

BigTightropeWalker · 10/01/2025 10:31

I'm feeling a little bit despondent. I'm at the end of week 5 and my weight loss is 5lbs in total over that time. Trying to work out how to speed things up a bit. It's 5lbs more than I've managed to lose for a long time so there's that to be grateful for, but I was hoping for a bigger loss tbh!!!

I'm eating a LOT less than I used to, so I can't really understand why. I had hoped I wouldn't have to calorie count on this as I find that so overwhelming. I started at over 15 stone, heavy enough that you'd think the initial losses would be substantial. Maybe I've underestimated the amount of effort I'll still need to put into monitoring / planning every mouthful.

I did have Xmas during those 5 weeks (when I'd normally put on half a stone!) so maybe I shouldn't be so fed up. It's just that, for me, it's a lot of money to find each month (for the mounjaro) and I want to get the most out of it!

Goinghome20 · 10/01/2025 11:35

@BigTightropeWalker 5lbs off over Christmas is a good loss vut ai know what you mean. Its hard not to compare with others and there have been some big losses. Maybe this week youll have a whoosh! Mine has stalled now for 2 weeks so Im hoping this ia my week too..

glittermittens · 10/01/2025 11:38

@BigTightropeWalker you may have to calorie count, that is what I have had to do. I try not to eat over 1200 a day. Some days I have more some days less, but over the week it evens out. Perhaps try for a week and see how you get on.

HesDeadBenYouCanStopNow · 10/01/2025 11:56

I agree calorie counting can be helpful. I record all my intake in my fitness pal, partly to make sure I'm eating enough and a healthy balance as I'm not very hungry most of the time. It is almost always less than 1200 a day. I've moved to 2 meals a day as I can't eat a third without feeling overfull and a bit nauseous. So it tends to be brunch and dinner

My other half was eating less than he should as he was eating the same as me but is 6 foot. His weight loss stalled, but a small increase in carbs seems to have kickstarted it again

HesDeadBenYouCanStopNow · 10/01/2025 12:08

I think it really shows how different the suppression levels can be for different people. I've a friend that has had to get above 10 to feel any suppression and others are micro dosing due to over suppression.

MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals · 10/01/2025 12:34

I got in contact with MedExpress to see if they could help with releasing my next order a few days early. I've realised the 2.5mg is where I want to be right now as my suppression is huge again and I have the 5mg pen in the fridge. Anyway. They took a lot of notes and it's been prescribed, so I'm going to stick at 2.5mg and keep my 5mg for another day. It's meant I've paid out double this month which is a pain but I'm feeling happier with 2.5.

shrinkingthiswinter · 10/01/2025 13:26

Btw I don’t know if Yazen is a popular provider in the UK, but in case it is I have offer codes which I can share. There are very few options where I am, but it sounds like the UK has more.

OrangeDonald · 10/01/2025 13:54

@BigTightropeWalker I'm on week 5 and I've lost around 5-6lb, so similar to you. I'm having good suppression (still on 2.5). I don't think 1lb a week weight loss is bad at all, especially since i started around the Christmas season.

I quite like the shotsy info, as saying I've lost 10.2% of the weight needed feels like a massive achievement - way better that thinking I'm only just losing 1lb per week.

Totally agree. Thanks to whoever first recommended Shotsy. It's a big help, and encourages me to keep going.

I'm on day 4 of my first week at 5mg. Total loss is 7kg. 22kg ish to go.
I'm not getting a lot of suppression on 5mg so far. But I'll keep going!

BigTightropeWalker · 10/01/2025 19:40

Thanks @OrangeDonald @saj90 @HesDeadBenYouCanStopNow @glittermittens @Goinghome20 for your encouraging replies!
I've been super busy with work hence not replying sooner. I feel a bit more positive having read them all - I really appreciate it.

It's a long game isn't it? I shouldn't get so discouraged. And tbh a lb a week would eventually do the trick. I'm just impatient! 😊

@OrangeDonald thanks for the shotsy recommendation - it looks great, I've downloaded it!

Hey! Great to see all the fab results everyone is having.

I took my 5th Dose of 2.5 on Sunday. Now waiting to start 5mg already in my fridge. For those who have been doing 3.75mg instead, are you getting a full 7th dose out of the 5mg pen? Contemplating trailing it, but don't want to waste any due to the price!

Im getting some suppression on the 2.5mg but feel it wearing off quicker this 2 weeks. When I first took the 2.5mg I had nausea for the first 48hours but nothing since. Any advice would be great!

@SamJM2 I've only taken two doses of 3.75mg so it's too early for me to know. I'm planning to take four 3.75mg doses (to allow the level to build up) then I'll decide whether to stay or whether to use the 5th dose to increase to 5mg.

As for what remains in the pen, I would possibly consider a 6th dose (day 35) as I store it in the fridge and am careful with procedure, but I'd discard it after that.

JunoRoma · 10/01/2025 22:55

@LC4life I can empathise. Realising / admitting that I'm 5'5" in the last couple of years (rather than 5'6") meant my BMI was even higher than I had thought it was.

Well done on your recent loss.

To get 3.75mg I did 45 clicks (rather than the full 60 clicks to get to the number 1 marker) on a 5mg pen.

Many thanks. I am going to do this today.

shrinkingthiswinter · 11/01/2025 10:22

I had decided to stay on 2.5 for month 2, but now halfway through week 5 I’ve done a 1.25 booster because I was so much hungrier. Or possibly I wasn’t really hungrier, but tolerating it less because less excited by the process? Anyway, looks like I’ll go with 3.75.

Fedupdoc · 11/01/2025 11:08

Weighed today. 1kg/2.2lb off this week. Which I’m pleased with as I have been in bed with flu and done absolutely nothing. No exercise. Some days my step count must have been about 50. But I did eat <1200 calories daily
finally seeing a bit of progress. Week 2 of 5mg and I’ve ordered my 7.5 pen already

glittermittens · 11/01/2025 11:16

Oh gosh 3.75mg is making me feel quite nauseous today, and appetite suppression is very high. Can't face food yet today, hoping the whole week isn't like this.

Am I wrong thinking that the pen has to be used withon 30 days once opened? Even of stored in the fridge. This would mean you can take 5 weekly doses but not 6?

I am doing 3.75mg from a 5g pen so will have quite a bit left over...
