Welcome all December 2024 starters, and November and January starters too😊. As we're almost at the end of the first thread, I thought to start a new one before it finishes.

From what dose of pen?

0.6ml contains one full dose.

0.9ml from a 2.5mg pen contains 3.75mg.
0.45ml from a 5mg pen contains 3.75mg.
0.3ml from a 7.5mg pen contains 3.75mg.

Thanks @JunoRomasorry for being so vague, I had a 5mg pen and a 0.3ml needle so ended up taking everything left in the pen which was the whole syringe full plus about half as much again. So no idea what I took. May never need to eat again.

JunoRoma · 21/03/2025 07:15

I took my 4th dose of 5mg 36 hours ago, and have woken up with abdominal cramps, nausea and diarrhoea (first time I've experienced this since starting Mounjaro).

My plan is to keep hydrated, and be very cautious about what I eat today. If it doesn't ease up then I'll consider oral rehydration salts. Any other tips from those who've had this?

shrinkingthiswinter · 21/03/2025 07:30

@JunoRoma I’ve had some of that on 5. Especially after DH insisted on making fish and chips and I stupidly tried some. Only comfort I can offer is that it went quickly. Hope you feel better soon!

Oh no! Drink lots of water, use rehyration tabs and eat bland beige things like crackers. Hope it eases very soon and you start to feel much better.

Seems to have hit out the blue! Youve been very careful about tritating up slowly.

Could it be a bug rather than MJ?
A hospital near us has just closed wards to visitors due to norovirus!

It's possible, although I don't have a fever, headache, body aches etc. The timing of onset made me think of Mounjaro first.

MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals · 21/03/2025 16:36

Lovely to catch up on everyone's news.

love your NSV @shrinkingthiswinter

I'm halfway through second week of 3.75, I'm on the bloody heaviest period I've had in years (on the mini pill) but weirdly despite all normal symptoms of sore boobs etc, the bloat is missing! I've actually dropped into the 12 stone category! I haven't been here since over 11 years ago and so far this week I appear to have lost 2lbs (which never happens for me). I'll see what my official weigh day on Sunday says!

Pepto bismol helped for me - although I still think I had a tummy bug. Lots of water, and non-diet friendly plain stodge like toast, pasta etc.

JunoRoma · 21/03/2025 17:39

@Slimwannabe thank you, DH kindly went out and found some pepto-bismol for me. It tastes horrible!
After a day of clear fluids and some soup, I've had a small portion of porridge and half a banana as an early dinner.🤞🏻

Yeah I call it Pepta-bysmal as it tastes so vile! But it does seem to work well. Don’t be alarmed if you get black tarry 💩 in a day or so! I’m glad you’re on the mend.

Lindy0070 · 22/03/2025 09:08

Morning all,
Jab 15 today and I’ve plateaued for the third week in a row on 195lbs. It doesn’t surprise me as I feel like I’ve been overeating. I’ve just done my first week of 7.5mg and thought that would kick start it. I’m drinking more water but the last couple of days, my suppression has been non existent.
I know my food choices haven’t been great so let’s see if I can improve things this week.

That happened to me recently. 3 week plateau and I increased my dose to 7.5mg. I felt I was getting used to it and maybe a couple of bad habits were sneaking back in. First of all I tried moving the scales around to different places on the floor and wearing fewer clothes with not much effect! I suspect it’s my body adjusting to its new dimensions a bit. I’m making a renewed effort to track my food, drinking more water and have started some supplements and my weight has started to drop again. Stick at it! You’re going great!

Lindy0070 · 22/03/2025 09:41

@shrinkingfi Aaw thanks for responding to my post. It’s pleasing to hear similar stories. I know I need to up my exercise too which should help. Think my body is clinging on to my belly 😂😂

I thought it tasted like tcp and calpol! Abysmal... but I was DESPERATE! My poor bum!

Weirdly both times I had an upset tummy were left thigh jab days, so sticking to my right thigh now!

Try not to beat yourself up, you are only human and we all have days where we don't do so well. Dieting is HARD!

JunoRoma · 22/03/2025 22:04

I'm feeling better than yesterday, although still getting some very strange stomach noises and occasional discomfort.

I'm reluctant to take 5mg again next week; I think I need to reduce the dose slightly and give my body a chance to recover.

I had sulphur burps and the most unholy noises. Jabbed as normal, no issues for two weeks.

MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals · 23/03/2025 07:23

Week 15D1. I've held the 12st 13lb weight, so for the first time in months lost 2lb in one week (rather than my standard 1lb per week!). I've stayed on 3.75 again as suppression is pretty high still. 24lb total weight loss and amazed at a 12 number on the scales!

I would say though, they're not lying when they say it wipes muscle! I dismantled a huge triple wardrobe with dresser/drawers type thing on my own yesterday, I've got a sore right arm anyway from pulling something nearly two weeks ago doing weights, but bloody hell, it was tough going, trying to lift those pieces and unscrew and hammer all at the same time whilst balancing it killed me off! So did the 20 runs up and downstairs carrying said huge pieces to outside (but it definitely counts as exercise right!).

Slimwannabe · 23/03/2025 10:09

W16D1 and another 1.5lb off for me, so that's 32.5lb total so far. Still a long way to go though! On my final 5mg pen, then moving up to 7.5.

TrinityWaves · 23/03/2025 21:03

Hello Dec-starters, hope we're all having a healthy weekend.

My teenager this evening said "your figure looks nice" which was sweet, she doesn't often comment on appearance about anyone really, so nice and unexpected. I'm glad she's not obsessed with how she or others look. I didn't say anything about weight loss but just said "thank you, that's a kind thing to say". She doesn't know about the pen as I don't want it to set off her worrying about her own weight or anything like that, she's a perfectly normal healthy size.

I haven't really had anyone notice who doesn't know about MJ. Right at the start one of my work colleagues noticed (she's super observant) this is when I was only half a stone down but her husband is doing it too so we did end up chatting about it, so she and couple of other colleagues do know and they constantly give me lovely compliments but I don't know if they would if they didn't know. I haven't made it public but did tell my mum/sister, and then 3 of closest friends know as 1 is on MJ and 1 has had a gastric band thing so easy to talk to re weight loss. Back in December I did feel people kept looking at my legs, I guessed the weight maybe went from there first or something but no-one ever comments, which is fine as I don't want people asking questions and then I don't know whether or not to say about MJ lol.

frogpigdonkey · 24/03/2025 08:42

Week 16 weigh and jab day
SW 15 stone
CW 12 stone 12lbs
TW 9 stone

v pleased to be in the 12s! Total loss of 30lb. Lots of old clothes starting to fit and a big bag ready to go to the charity shop. Feeling good!

shrinkingthiswinter · 24/03/2025 09:12

@TrinityWaves I don’t think anyone I haven’t told has said anything to me, though 2.75 stone and 17 off my waist must be obvious. I suppose I don’t really say ‘gosh you have lost weight’ to people, even though I have a notoriously big mouth. Wonder if old school friends (cheeky bunch) will. I’m trying to see as many people as possible on the way so it’s not such a shock. I’ve also been buying exactly the same clothes in a size down as far as possible, which is either very cunning and subtle or weird gaslighting towards my colleagues.

meatyryvita · 24/03/2025 10:16

I'm a lurking January starter and I took a look around here to get a glimpse of my future. Congratulations on your awe-inspiring losses!

JunoRoma · 24/03/2025 13:57

@shrinkingthiswinter thinking about it, I've also been buying the same trousers and jeans in smaller sizes, and some tops in the same style too.

Thankfully my bout of gastric sadness only lasted for 24 hours, and I'm feeling much better.

I've also realised that I've lost 20% of my starting weight!

I agree that it's probably something most of us wouldn't say. I do notice when people have lost weight but wouldn't point it out.
Lol, I love the idea of the same outfits, you've been zapped by a shrinking laser.
