Welcome all December 2024 starters, and November and January starters too😊. As we're almost at the end of the first thread, I thought to start a new one before it finishes.

Down 16.9kg today. 3.7kg left to first goal and 13.7 kg to stretch goal.

I think my loss is a bit slower now - just under a kilo per week rather than just over - but perhaps that's not surprising as I've lost 16.3% of my body weight and each kilo is now a higher percentage. Also as my BMR drops and I'm eating the same, I'm no longer quite maintaining the 1000 calorie daily deficit needed for a whole kilo in a week.

Finally back at the gym today for some gentle strength and stretching - it took 4 weeks to get over bad cold/flu.

Breakfast - I mostly have a coffee with milk and some chocolate protein powder in. Plus a probiotic fruit drink (no added sugars or sweeteners, but it is fruit). And all my vitamins, iron supplement liquid, etc. Sometimes I have yoghurt or skyr and fruit and nuts.

Haven't checked systematically enough to know if there's a big difference. I'd need to follow one route for a week and see. Actually, in a couple of weeks I'll be away for work and staying in a hotel that has nice (healthy) breakfasts which I won't want to miss, so I can report back after that!

BigTightropeWalker · 17/03/2025 19:15

Thanks @OrangeDonaldits interesting that it’s so hard to tell what causes the plateaus etc. I keep thinking I should keep a daily record of appetite suppression, symptoms, what I’ve eaten and when, etc alongside my record of my my weight loss. But probably won’t get round to it!

Lindy0070 · 18/03/2025 09:37

Morning all,
If like me you are shopping around for the best deals. Be careful if you choose Numan as it is a subscription scheme and I had to go into my account on the app to pause/cancel subscription. Do it straight away or you could be charged £229 for the next dose!!!

TrinityWaves · 19/03/2025 09:31

End of week 16, and -2.8 lb down. The pen is also not broken, it worked fine but I recommend not pressing the button down when there's no needle attached 😂

SW 263.4
CW 215.8 lb
TL 47.6 lb
Targets are to get below BMI 35 (around 15st), then get below 200 lb, then 12 st, a dream weight would be 10 st but I'd be happy at 12

Julesni77 · 19/03/2025 10:49

after my decision to stop weighing weekly I weighed today and have lost 0! I know I have to go up a dose so have the 7.5mg ready for next week! Now I have non scale victories so I will hold onto them - I was able to hang off a bar in the gym and do a set of leg raises which I have never been able to do before! Last night was the first time my husband had mentioned me back to snoring (I am on a list to be assessed for sleep apnea) I got up at 1am and took my last 5mg dose 2 days early to see and my snoring immediately stopped! I know that mountjaro seems to have cured my sleep apnea but this was the first time I realised that the effect was immediate! So plan is to start the 7.5mg pen and weigh once that's done So far I have had 2 2.5mg and 2 5mg pens so a total of 16weeks and 2 stone gone and I have to cling on to the fact that I would never have achieved this without the jabs!

Keep on trucking fellow december losers!

shrinkingthiswinter · 19/03/2025 12:07

Well done on scale and non-scale victories @TrinityWaves and @Julesni77!

I had a happy NSV yesterday went I made it back to the gym and a curvy but trained-looking lady with strong legs and nice wiggly hips walked brightly towards me. I just had time to think 'oo I hope I can look like that soon' before I realised it was a mirror.

I mean, my BMI is still 29.2, but a large skeleton, strong physique and hourglass shape means I can carry it ok - which is also why I let my weight creep up so much. Really enjoying less back pain and more bounce in my step now.

Julesni77 · 19/03/2025 14:37

@shrinkingthiswinter thats fantastic! Keep those scale and NSV going for us all!

my goal is BMI 30 as I know with the training I do that will be me happy

That's awesome!
I'd be thrilled to be any weight below BMI 30!!!

shrinkingthiswinter · 19/03/2025 19:34

I am pretty thrilled tbh! It’s a very long time since I weighed this little. Not since I was pregnant with DC2 nearly 15 years ago.

Still another 3.5 kg to 83 kg. To go horse riding I need to be under 85 with kit on. So 83 is first major goal.

Goinghome20 · 20/03/2025 07:42

Morning everyone

W16D1

nearly 4 months and here I am confidentally syringing 0.5 out of a 7.5mg pen and whacking it into my fat fold feeling like this is the most normal thing in the world to do!

Told my friend when I saw her and it feels great to have a real life MJ buddy to chat about it all to. She is on week 3 and feeling the positive effects already.

My stats are now

Sw 6/12/24 13.7 32bmi
Cw 20/3/25 11.7 27.5bmi

So the 1lb off this week makes it 15% of my body weight off and I am now down 2 stone which is amazing!

I am tritating up to a full dose of my 7.5mg pen...so did 45 clicks last week, syringed 0.5ml out today and planning 55 clicks next week. This slow method is working for me. I have bags of energy and can eat enough to get on with my life and no side effects so far... touch wood!

How is everyone else getting on this week?

I love your description of yourself in the mirror. That must have been the best feeling!

JunoRoma · 20/03/2025 08:34

@Goinghome20 well done on the 15% and 2 stone!

I've just taken my fourth 5mg dose, but when it's time to increase the dose then I'll do it gradually as you're doing, as that has worked really well for me so far.

Goinghome20 · 20/03/2025 08:48

I think it was one of your posts that gave me the idea with the 3.75mg stepping dose.

When I did the 5th dose from 5mg pen and got 5.8mg that worked really well for me so I decided to do small steps with this pen and see.

CrystalDeCanter · 20/03/2025 09:25

Hi all, I’m popping in having caught up on the last week or so of posts.

well done on all the losses, amazing stuff. @shrinkingfiyour description of you gym nsv made me laugh.

im down 12kg with another 5 or so to go. I feel so much better and like someone upthread have noticed that I move so much easier. No rocking to get myself up off the sofa for instance.

im walking a minimum of 5k a day with the dogs and have done some 10k+ walks listening to audiobooks happy as a clam.

for those of us who sometimes get a bit down about stalling or slow losses may i suggest stuffing a shopping bag full of groceries that weigh the equivalent of what you have lost and try lifting it. You will soon see exactly how awesome you are and why it’s worth keeping going.

CrystalDeCanter · 20/03/2025 09:26

Oh I need to get my next dose out of the pen with a syringe, never done it before and not sure of the dose. Does anyone know what 3.75 is in a syringe??

Julesni77 · 20/03/2025 09:50

@shrinkingthiswinter horse riding is also a goal for me - I had thought that 14 stone was the cut off - so that goal is a bit further away - more like 13 stone!

From what dose of pen?

0.6ml contains one full dose.

0.9ml from a 2.5mg pen contains 3.75mg.
0.45ml from a 5mg pen contains 3.75mg.
0.3ml from a 7.5mg pen contains 3.75mg.

@Julesni77 you are right! I’ve googled some more now. It looks like riding stables here (I’m not in UK) typically have weight limits between 85 and 105 kg, presumably depending on the sizes of their horses. Some as low as 80, a lot 90.

The last time I rode was in the Peak District about 16 years ago and I must have been somewhere around 85kg and they didn’t think it was a problem.

That’s a goal for me too!!! Haven’t been on a horse since 2004 😂😂

mjjourney · 20/03/2025 17:15

Checking in as haven’t been on the thread in a few weeks!

currently in week 16 and I’m 1.5lbs away from 2.5 stone which I am thrilled with!!

on 7.5mg which is treating me kindly and is defo upping the weight loss so I’ve reordered another 7.5mg pen

loving hearing how everyone is getting on!

BigTightropeWalker · 20/03/2025 17:50

@LC4lifeI think I might be the same. I must try and track it this week. I know doing that doesn’t really make a difference, but I’m just interested!
