Welcome all December 2024 starters, and November and January starters too😊. As we're almost at the end of the first thread, I thought to start a new one before it finishes.

I'm a lurking January starter and I took a look around here to get a glimpse of my future. Congratulations on your awe-inspiring losses!

Hello, I did the same to the Sept/Oct boards when I started, imagining where I could be in a few months!

shrinkingthiswinter · 24/03/2025 19:56

@TrinityWaves I love ‘zapped by the shrinking laser’! Maybe that would be suitable for our next thread title 😆

I think we're onto a winner there!

Waymarked7 · 25/03/2025 08:07

How's everyone doing?
I decided to do more month and have finally got to my target weight of 75kg! Woop woop.

So currently on 7.5mg and this month will be the last month on MJ. I'm going to try without tapering off.

have started running again after Being ill for quite a while and it feels great, I can run further amd faster and feel much lighter on my feet, what a difference 14/15kg makes!! Aim now is to maintain but smaller portions and exercise.

Hope everyone else is having a great month and getting closer to target!

JunoRoma · 25/03/2025 10:40

@Waymarked7 congratulations on reaching your goal weight!
My goal is also 75kg... only another 10kg to go.

Julesni77 · 25/03/2025 16:46

@Waymarked7 amazing!! do keep reporting back on how the maintenance goes - so lovely to hear from someone at goal!

Waymarked7 · 25/03/2025 17:53

Not far to go! 75kg seems reasonable. I could lose more but would be slimmer than I have been since being a teenager which feels unmanageable and I wouldn't feel like me!

Hope your last 10kg goes smoothly

Waymarked7 · 25/03/2025 17:54

Julesni77 · 25/03/2025 16:46

Thanks, I'm just going to go cold turkey and not reduce slowly as I feel I have spent enough money getting to this stage. But if it's really difficult may get one more 2.5mg to help the process.

TrinityWaves · 25/03/2025 19:52

My injection day is Wednesday morning but I wanted to do it in my arm this time (loads of fat there so an ideal spot but hard to reach), so I just got squeamish DH to help me. He stabbed in the needle like an axe to wood as he psyched himself up to do it 😂😂. He's pleased I won't ask him again.

JunoRoma · 25/03/2025 21:10

@TrinityWaves that's very dedicated of him!

shrinkingthiswinter · 25/03/2025 22:52

Congratulations @Waymarked7!! Very exciting to see someone from our thread reach goal!

I've got another 13kg to my absolute stretch goal of 73kg, but not sure I'll want to go that far, since that's what I weighed when I left school. Anyway I think my loss is slowing to more like 0.7kg a week rather than a whole kilo, so I'll have to be more patient, but I figure I've dealt with the obesity and now feel much healthier and look pretty good at a BMI of 29. I'm keen to get to 83, then 78, but really from 78 downwards everything is a bonus. I remember looking and feeling pretty good at 83 in my early 20s, and I wasn't as strong or fit then. I can't eat much less than I do at the moment because I get faint and my blood pressure is low, so I don't want to be hurrying up to higher MJ doses. Better to lose the rest more slowly for some more months, I reckon, and let myself settle at a weight that works for my body.

Exciting NSV today - I scored a dress in a sale in size 14 which I wore until January in a size 18! I was sorry to sell the 18 because I really liked the dress, but it was far too big, and so I'm delighted to have the 14, and it is a bit on the loose side!

TrinityWaves · 26/03/2025 09:16

End of week 17, and -2.2 lb down.

SW 263.4 lb
CW 213.6 lb
TL 49.8 lb
TW various goals along the way... get under 213 lb (BMI 35, this is close!), under 200 lb, hit 168 lb (12 st), 140 (10 st) would be a real dream but probably a bit low for me

I've almost been on MJ for 4 months! Still a way to go...

Well done Waymarked7!!!

OrangeDonald · 26/03/2025 13:46

Week 16

SW 90.2kg
CW 81.9kg
TL 8.3kg

Ive gone back down to 3.75 dose as 5 really wiped me out. Weight loss is still slow but steady around 1lb a week.

DH and i did a 4 hour car journey at the weekend, and had a really long chat about WLI. Apparently when i started he was slightly worried/sceptical but having seen me on them for a few months now he's not as concerned.

JunoRoma · 26/03/2025 18:33

@TrinityWaves well done on such a significant loss!

@OrangeDonald I found the fourth week of 5mg a bit much. I was still having a lot of suppression on day 7 and getting some fatigue. I've taken 4.4mg today and hoping I can tolerate that.

Sorry you’ve had a difficult week @LC4life . Glad it hasn’t slowed your weight progress though.

Goinghome20 · 27/03/2025 16:02

Hi Everyone

Some amazing targets hit this week.

Well done @Waymarked7 and good luck with stopping.

I messed up my pen by using a syringe for dose 2 last week. The plunger is stuck theres a big gap between the pushy bit and the plungie bit (technical term😂) so I wasted 2 pen needles before resorting to a syringe to draw 0.6ml out.

Looks like I am syringing out the 2 remaining doses!

Sts this week. Bit disappointing but this did made me decide to go for the whole 7.5mg dose today. Ive been going up slowly from 5mg. Wish me luck. No side effects (yet)

Good luck @Goinghome20 ! I’m debating 7.5, having previously decided I’d stick at 5. Seem to be stuck at 86.something kilos. Maybe will try being more careful about dinner portions and about drinking water and see for a week or two.

JunoRoma · 27/03/2025 18:32

@Goinghome20 well done on losing 15%!

JunoRoma · 28/03/2025 07:33

I had some blood tests yesterday (regular monitoring of an issue I've had for years). There's a blood pressure machine in the waiting room, so I thought I'd check it, as I have been feeling lightheaded sometimes since starting Mounjaro (especially after standing up suddenly).

My (sitting) BP was 91/50. Well that would explain it. And I had been drinking enough water.

shrinkingthiswinter · 28/03/2025 08:00

Blimey Juno, that’s low! I’ve been a bit woozy and my BP has been much lower than pre-MJ when I’ve measured it, but not like that!

Week 16 weigh in

SW 14 stone 3.8 BMI 32.2
CW 10 stone 12.4 BMI 24.6
23.7% body weight lost
TW 11 stone BMI 24.9

W1 -7lb 2.5mg. - 7
W2 -4.4lb 2.5mg. -11.4
W3 -2.4lb 2.5 mg. -13,8
W4 -3lb 2.5mg. -16.8
W5 -5lb 2.5mg. -21.8
W6 +0.2lb 2.5mg. -21.6
W7 -4lb 3.75mg. -25.6
W8 0 3.75mg. -25.6
W9 3.2 3.75mg -28.8

W11 3.2 3.75mg -34.6
W12 4.2 5mg. -38.8
W13 1 5mg. -39.8
W14 2.2 5mg. -42
W15 0.8 5mg. -42.8
W16 4.6 5mg. -47.4

Average loss of 3lb per week
17% off my waist measurement

I've officially exceeded my initial target, and I need to decide where I want to be. I've got some fabulous Levi's that haven't fit for 6 years that now do up, but there's a bit of a muffin top (or at least there was 2 weeks ago when I tried them on).

The wild thing this week is that last week we were on holiday, it was all inclusive and I did eat and drink what ever I fancied, including a ice cream, a few cocktails and a taste of most of the pastries. All the eating seemed to have kick started my weight loss this week though and ended up losing 4.6lb just by returning to normal food in take.

I'm not quite sure how I'm going to approach maintenance yet. I think I'll take the full 5 this week and think about what next week looks like.

That is pretty low Juno. Did you ask your GP about that?
