Welcome all December 2024 starters, and November and January starters too😊. As we're almost at the end of the first thread, I thought to start a new one before it finishes.

Hi guys!

I don’t post much on here but I keep up with all your messages. I’m finding lots of help and advice from you all.
I’ve been on a plateau for a couple of weeks now so I think it’s time to increase to 7.5mgs, I have my new pen waiting in the fridge. I’ll weigh in again tomorrow and increase the dose and see if I can kickstart that weight loss again 🤞🏻
Starting weight on 3rd December 2024 was 16s 3lb, current weight 14st 10lb. I feel so much better and clothes are feeling more comfortable although I haven’t gone down a size yet.

Well done to you all!!

Slimwannabe · 13/03/2025 23:42

Congrats to all of you on great losses!

I have to admit that I'm so jealous of those of you whose starting weight would be a dream weight for me! I would love to be 5 stone lighter than I am, and the slow and steady progress is hard.

Keeping on with the plan, few more blips than when I first started (5mg has definitely ceased to be effective for appetite suppression now). But had a "binge" on Sunday through boredom mainly, and it was barely a binge compared to before.

I know I eat a lot more daily cals than most, but this seems to be working in terms of shifting to a daily sensible cal intake without feeling deprived. Plus, 29.5lbs down already, which is, objectively a lot!

Sorry, seemed to be moaning, and then congratulating myself 🤣

shrinkingthiswinter · 14/03/2025 07:29

@Slimwannabe almost 30lbs!! Will you celebrate the milestone?

I'm going to ait until the 3st mark - I think that's when it will feel real for me, as I've not been able to diet below 17st for years. Not wanting to wish time away, but if only I were further along!

Nearly 3 stone is amazing!

Its definately a journey isnt it and longer for some than for others but look where we all were in December!

We are doing it ...losing weight we have struggled with for so long. whether fast or slow its going!

Im smiling this morning cos I just zipped up my jacket without breathing in!!

Average loss of 3lb per week
Hit the 3 stone target this week, whoop whoop 😊

I'm going on holiday soon and actually had a choice of clothes from my wardrobe to take with me. I'm even taking a bikini

My tummy is soft and flabby but the pants are big enough to hide the worst of it and my pasty skin could really do with getting some sun.

I've been amazed with the progress so far but I am worried about maintaining as the meds have done more than just curb my appetite. I think it's an interaction with my thyroid condition. I guess there is a risk I'll need to be in it longer term, and that may get difficult to get prescribed.

JunoRoma · 14/03/2025 15:02

@HesDeadBenYouCanStopNow well done on reaching 3 stone loss!

@Slimwannabe try to focus on the significant progress you've made.

After losing an impressive 1.5kg last week I've just put on 0.5kg overnight, I think it was actually a net loss of 1kg but my weekly weigh-in happened to occur during a dip on the squiggliness of the graph.

HesDeadBenYouCanStopNow · 14/03/2025 17:11

@JunoRoma I sympathise, I choose the weigh every day but that really emphasises the daily glitches in weight over a week. I have had several occasions where I've put on 2lb over night that hadn't felt fair, but it sorta itself out in the end 😊

A kg is a great loss 😊 when you look at a kg of butter it's quite a nice feeling to visualise that loss 😊

Edited

I started 4 days before you at exactly the same weight, I’m down to 14 stone 5 and have been stuck there for three weeks! I’ve increased my dose to 7.5 too and am feeling really quite rough but it hasn’t kick started my loss. Really frustrated! Any tips from anyone? I do also feel much more comfortable in my clothes but no dramatic drop in size either! This might be because I was squeezing into them and breathing in a lot!!

MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals · 15/03/2025 19:49

@shrinkingfi for me I always lose better (and thats relative as I'm literally 1lb per week in general) when I drink a pint of water first thing and have some protein within an hour of waking up. I know how frustrating it is to stall, I had that a few weeks ago. :(

Slimwannabe · 15/03/2025 20:25

Thanks for the support and boost you lovely lot!

@JunoRoma the unexpected and unfair gains really suck! Having weighed daily for 3 months I've now stopped, as it was making me too fixated on that as an outcome. I check in a couple of times a week now. Since my second 5mg pen I've not been seeing a consistent drop and the ups were stressing me out a bit.

MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals · 16/03/2025 07:22

Morning all.

Weigh in/jab day. W14 D1. Some mild side effects on 3.75 so decided to stick with this dose rather than push to 5 as have a very busy but awesome day with my DD for her birthday weekend plans today.

lost another 1lb. I'm now 13st 1! 22lbs total loss, 10% body weight loss hit in the week and now the lightest I've been in over a decade.

I so want another 2lb asap so I can see a number beginning with 12 on the scales!

I also squeezed into some jeans yesterday that two months ago would have even gone past my thighs!

I really need to up my exercise, but still not much motivation to do that.

Goinghome20 · 16/03/2025 07:36

Thats brilliant! 10% loss and a jeans win! Well done 🙂

Ive just been fitting in more walking. Its free and can just be 20 minutes of picking up thr pace a bit. Met a mate the other day and we ended up chatting and walking for 2hrs! That was a nice boost to my calorie deficit.

BigTightropeWalker · 16/03/2025 07:52

For those of you whose appetite suppression wanes towards the end of the week, can I ask does it return properly the day you take your injection or the day after?

Hard for me to tell as my suppression isn't great atm but I had really bad munchies last Sunday so jabbed in the afternoon rather than before bed and had no immediate suppression, so I would say day after.

BigTightropeWalker · 16/03/2025 10:11

@Slimwannabethats what I’m finding. Took me a while to cotton on though!

Slimwannabe · 16/03/2025 11:14

W16, D1 - still on 5mg, still thigh jabbing, still eating around 1700-1800cals a day. Another 1.4lb off this week, so 31lbs off now, roughly 2lb a week.

SW: 273lb
CW: 242lb

Lindy0070 · 16/03/2025 16:06

@BigTightropeWalker It's the day after for me too. My suppression does wane about 2-3 days before jab day!

TrinityWaves · 16/03/2025 16:51

@JunoRoma - thank you the support on here is fabulous.
@shrinkingthiswinter - it will be amazing to 'just' be Class 1 obese. The weight off so far has made a profound difference in everyday movement. I didn't notice it as the weight crept on over the years but I can get up off the floor without putting my hands down on the ground - that sort of thing! I've lost about the weight of my youngest child and although she's super skinny she's heavy to pick up.
@Goinghome20 - thank you!
@LC4life - it's great to have other people who are similar to me! You're doing amazing too. I haven't seen anyone else complaining about the needles, so it must just be me. The BD are green/white 32g and the CarePoint ones are yellow/white 31g but I've seen people recommend the CP ones so I don't know why they cause me such issues (difficulty attaching, priming and some haven't worked at all and needed changing).

TrinityWaves · 16/03/2025 16:54

BigTightropeWalker · 16/03/2025 07:52

The last 48 hours I'm hungrier!
It usually starts to kick back in about 8 hours after the injection but really peaks about 36 hours and then works well again until the last 48-60ish, I would say.

BigTightropeWalker · 17/03/2025 09:38

Another question from me - have people noticed a difference in their weight loss depending on whether they do or don't eat breakfast?

OrangeDonald · 17/03/2025 14:47

@BigTightropeWalker i inject on a Tuesday, and i find Thursday/Friday i have highest suppression. I have the shotsy app which shows me how much medication is in my system and it seems to be high suppression in days just after max peak. Wednesdays (day 1 after jab) I have endless thirst so just guzzle water in between meals.

I can't quite work out what causes my weight to stall some weeks whilst other weeks have bigger losses. Im eating healthier since starting MJ, (my diet is now wayyyy less ultra processed food), but i honestly can't put the plataus & dips down to changing my meal times or whatever. My breakfasts now tend to be pretty light - I'll have some natural yoghurt, with berries, nuts, seeds and half a handful of granola.

JunoRoma · 17/03/2025 16:00

@BigTightropeWalker I haven't yet missed breakfast, so it would be impossible for me to say 😂
