Welcome all December 2024 starters, and November and January starters too😊. As we're almost at the end of the first thread, I thought to start a new one before it finishes.

I’m thinking of ordering a 7.5mg one next and then sticking to my 5mg dose. Are my calculations right that I could potentially get 6 doses out of it? I know I’d have to extract with a syringe. Has anyone else done this or got any advice? TIA.

TrinityWaves · 18/02/2025 22:42

@JunoRoma - thanks, that was a big loss but I think only because the week before was tiny/basically sts
@HT2025 - I can fluctuate by 2lb from one day to the next, water or something! I'm sure you'll see a whoosh soon
@50somethingHRTaddict - I plan to stay one 7.5 for a while so if you're having big losses on 5 - it sounds like it's working
@MaybeMrs - great loss so far!
@JunoRoma - I've had a few duff needles, they were all CarePoint ones, I've found the BD much better quality. I've also had the actual MJ pen jam too. Great loss too!!
@HesDeadBenYouCanStopNow & @Goinghome20 - wow, well done hitting the 11's!
@BigTightropeWalker - headaches are horrible, could you stay on 7.5 a bit longer to see if they any better?
@SamJM2 - I agree staying on the lowest dose that works for you, you've had a great loss so far, too
@Nonono18 - is the 7.5 working better now? and wow, you've lost over 2 stone in that short time - amazing
@BigTightropeWalker - I think we all experience this, I can be 2 lb heavier or lighter one day to the next. So annoying though!
@LC4life - fab loss! I really should look more into the beauty regime side of things, my face is much less plump now. Glad the liver thing is going in the right direction and hope it's in the normal range soon.
@shrinkingthiswinter - amazing loss so far. I agree - I'm suddenly discovering so many protein products instead of sweet stuff.
@Lindy0070 - that's a great amount in 10 weeks. Also, yes you could do 6 doses but it would take you over the 30 days recommended max time to use the pen, although there are people on here who do this.
@Slimwannabe - there will always be sts weeks but look at the amazing progress so far!
@MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals - that's a great loss and yes it's so weird not wanting crisps, chocolate and takeaways all day, everyday!!
@mjjourney - brilliant, you're so close to 2st
@WittyLimeBiscuit - well if you kept it over the 30 days (the recommend max time for safety reasons) it would be much more economical, with a higher dose pen. There's a poster on here who isn't in the UK and keeps them much longer. I use these https://ukmedi.co.uk/products/fms-micro-syringe-32g-8mm-1ml-fms-fms-32g-10ml-ukmedi-co-uk
@frogpigdonkey - well done!
@OrangeDonald - well done!
@shrinkingthiswinter - I hope 3.75 is better
@BigTightropeWalker - there's a separate board for it now https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/weight-loss-promo-codes

Thanks for the link @TrinityWaves

Hello mj-ers, I'm W13D1 this morning and just into the 15 stone bracket now.

@TrinityWaves if I'm reading that correctly then you've lost 18kg in three months! That's brilliant progress; well done!

Thanks, I do it all in pounds but I know the /2.2 conversion for kilograms and it works out as 18 :). I started 27th Nov, wow - actually can't believe it's been almost 3 months!!

Hi there I'm w12 d4 and moved up to 5mg for past 2 doses as felt 3.75 wasn't working that well. This week I've been feeling really depressed, v sad and a bit ragey.

Anyone else feeling miserable? Am thinking of going back to 3,75 to see if it lifts my mood.

On the up side I'm down 13kg and almost out of the overweight range and into a "normal" bmi 🥳

Evening everyone!

W11 d6/Wk12d1

Im jabbing a day early this week as Im away for a few days.

Just did weigh in and its another 1lb off🙂 total loss is 23lbs now. Slow but steady. Very happy.

shrinkingthiswinter · 20/02/2025 09:01

Morning everyone! Today I'm back to the 80s! Only just - 89.95 kg - but that's definitely an 8 on the scales!

I've had a horrible cold and no appetite so lost a bit quicker this week, but need to try to eat better now and get well. There's some chicken soup in the freezer I'll try to face for lunch.

SW 103.6 kg
CW 89.95 BMI 30.4
GW 83 then 78 more slowly and see how I feel.

@CrystalDeCanter really sorry to hear you've been feeling like that. I went up to 5 last week but it was too much, so I've only taken 3.75 this week. Hope you feel better soon.

@LC4life the rewards for each stage are a good idea! I was going to buy myself a new bra this weekend while in range of a Bravissimo shop, but was too poorly. Managed to guesstimate size though so I do have one bought online which fits. Think I'll wait a few months until stabilized and then get a really nice one.

NotMeNoNo · 20/02/2025 09:57

@shrinkingthiswinter that's brilliant, I've just gone into the 70s this week (I'm short) and had the same euphoria. My size 16 clothes are now comfortable rather than tight.

I started tracking kg because stones were just too emotional and felt like too much of a challenge to lose 4 of them.

Slimwannabe · 20/02/2025 11:40

Very strangely after 7 doses on 5mg I got hit with side effects; not ruling out it being a bug as it seems so strange to have come on like this.

Have been a poop machine for 48 hours, and I am exhausted and empty 🤣 On the plus side, the weight has definitely shifted down!

Sitting here knackered on 2 hours sleep, sulphur burping, drinking tea, and feeling sorry for myself!

Oh no
Hope you feel better very soon.
Maybe not the MJ sounds like a bug?

@LC4life that's brilliant, well done! And well done to everyone else who is on the journey.

Seeing some posts on side effects- I'd had very few but this week, my third week on 7.5, I've had a lot of nausea and suppression very high, eating has been a challenge for the first time since the early days. Hoping this is just a blip and not because I have more built up in my system.

JunoRoma · 20/02/2025 15:29

@LC4life well done on the 2 stone loss!

@Slimwannabe I hope everything settles soon for you.

glittermittens · 21/02/2025 07:20

Hey everyone, hope you are all doing ok and side effects are at a minimum.

Jab day today, 5th 5mg jab, 5 is working well for me, 2lbs off this week so 22.6lbs off altogether so far, it's my 12th jab, so slow and steady compared to some, but I'm happy with that.

One thing though is I'm having surgery soon and this is my last jab until 7 March, so 2 weeks wait until the next one now, but worried about how the week I don't jab will be. Has anyone else had a missed week, and if so how was it?

Julesni77 · 21/02/2025 10:25

Weigh day today - 4lbs off just finished first 5mg after 2 2.5mg
SW 19 st 1lb
CW 17 st 3 lbs
GW 14 ish?

I have another 5mg pen to get through in fridge and will probably order another next week not sure whether to stick or go for a 3rd 5mg pen

Only side effect is constipation helped by fybogel and raspberries!

@glittermittens does this mean you have to go back to 2.5mg?

HesDeadBenYouCanStopNow · 21/02/2025 11:27

Week 11 weigh in

SW 14 stone 3.8 BMI 32.2
CW 11 stone 11.2 BMI 26.7
TW 11 stone BMI 24.9

W1 -7lb 2.5mg. - 7
W2 -4.4lb 2.5mg. -11.4
W3 -2.4lb 2.5 mg. -13,8
W4 -3lb 2.5mg. -16.8
W5 -5lb 2.5mg. -21.8
W6 +0.2lb 2.5mg. -21.6
W7 -4lb 3.75mg. -25.6
W8 0 3.75mg. -25.6
W9 3.2 3.75mg -28.8
W10 2.4 3.75mg -31.4
W11 3.2 3.75mg -34.6

Nearly 2.5 stone down. Accidentally had to go up to 5mg yesterday as I forgot to start counting as I turned the pen. I'm not sure how that'll go, I've still been good on 3.75mg

I've been monitoring my measurements and they have reduced between 10-15%, over inches off my waist now 😊

I've been doing about 6 miles on the bike every day, to gain fitness too

WittyLimeBiscuit · 21/02/2025 13:40

I suspect they're not everyone's cup of tea but I love kippers and they're a good source of omega-3.
Not any more.
I have eaten them twice since starting on Mounjaro and have had cramps and severe diarrhoea both times. I suspect it's the fish oil, but that's an avoid from me from now on

shrinkingfi · 21/02/2025 15:00

Hello everyone, I’m new so be gentle!!! Been on mj for 12 weeks with a brief time off for some tests (thankfully negative - when my long absent periods restarted). I’ve had a steady loss of around 1kg a week. One 2.5 pen, 2 x 5mg pens. Dilemma. Do I move up to 7.5 as my supplier advises or stick at 5 as I’m still losing albeit slowly…

It depends how slowly. I tended to move up at tiny loss, 0, or small gain. I accidentally moved up this week (forgot to count so did a full 5 instead of guessing) but I'm worried I'll get the dodgy stomach I got when I first went up to 3.75.

However my DH found the jump from 5 to 7.5 fine with no negatives.

No harm in getting the pen and doing an in between dose to go up gently 😊
