Welcome all December 2024 starters, and November and January starters too😊. As we're almost at the end of the first thread, I thought to start a new one before it finishes.

@Goinghome20 today so far I feel really good, headache-wise. Better than ages. I did have an untypically good night's sleep so maybe that's a big factor too!

BigTightropeWalker · 14/02/2025 09:59

But I did forget to take a glass of water to bed - d'oh!

Lindy0070 · 14/02/2025 11:25

@Nonono18 I feel your pain. I ate a big bar of galaxy yesterday, it didn’t touch the sides 😂😂. It’s time if the month too so it could be that too!

That's a great loss this week @LC4life

shrinkingthiswinter · 15/02/2025 00:14

Amazing losses everyone! And stamina - it feels like we’re out of the first euphoric phase now but we are still keeping going. Or maybe I just feel like that because I’ve got a cold and there’s some difficult family stuff going on so it’s a bit more plod atm.

Was worried wouldn’t maintain a good deficit while ill and inactive, but actually don’t have much appetite. Previously I always stayed hungry even when poorly. Also I just went up to 5mg, so probably have extra suppression.

On sweet cravings, protein bars are your friends, or at least might be worth trying. I have a Huel bar every afternoon so that I don’t get too hungry and take too much supper. They feel like treats, unbelievably sweet, but less than 200 cal and a good wallop of protein so keep you going. I am surprised every day when I find myself eating a chocolate bar as part of a low calorie diet, and I feel compelled to explain to anyone nearby that it’s actually a protein bar, but it seems to be working.

Down 12.2 kg now.

Slimwannabe · 15/02/2025 15:49

@BigTightropeWalker in January I had a week where my weight went up by a few lbs quite sharply; it started to shift later in the week but I ended up staying the same on weigh in day. Exactly five weeks later and the same has happened again so I'm pretty sure it's hormonal water weight. I'm sure I'll see a difference again next week, and I bet you will too!

Lindy0070 · 15/02/2025 17:15

Week 10, periods again!! I hate this bloody menopause!!
SW 213 lbs
CW 197 lbs
TW 161 lbs.

So 16 pounds lost in 10 weeks which is ok. Slow and steady I guess. I’m away with hubby this weekend for our birthdays, his today and I’m 53 tomorrow!!! Hope everyone has a great week x

SamJM2 · 15/02/2025 18:17

Nonono18 · 13/02/2025 23:28

I’ve really struggled with sweet cravings today. I took my first 7.5mg jab on Monday, so wouldn’t have thought suppression etc would already be waning. I’ve not binged or anything (100% would have pre MJ) but have eaten a mars bar and a twirl over the course of today. Hoping it’s just a blip 😕

19th dec sw 19.10
13 feb cw 17.9

I have protein bars around just incase I get these sweet tooth cravings! Also sugar free jelly! Don't be disheartened though, we all need those cheat days to make sure we don't fully go back to binge eating all the time! (If that's way you use to do, that's what I did and couldn't help).

Happy Sunday everyone! Congrats on all the losses this week!

W12, D1 - as expected my weight stayed the same this week, so still at 249lbs with 24lbs off (around 10kg). Hopefully I'll see a drop again this week. I weigh daily, and am starting to see the patterns around my cycle now.

Still on around 1800cal a day, still injecting into alternate thighs, still on 5mg, aiming for a 30min walk at least five times a week. Will change it up if I hit a plateau I suppose!

MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals · 16/02/2025 08:39

Morning all.

just weighed and jabbed! So now W10D1. Lost 1.5lbs this week which I'm delighted with. Total loss of 18lbs. Still slow and steady, but I'm happy with that and people are now noticing and commenting which is nice.
I used the needles I'd ordered and although it was a bit faffy I've done the bonus dose this morning. Still on 2.5mg and had mad suppression again this week, feeling really motivated and my walking pad is finally due to arrive tomorrow.

I was chatting to my friend who's also on it and said this must be how slim people just live, no constant thoughts about food, no desire to binge etc. it's an utter game changer, and I love that unlike a set diet (eg weight watchers etc) I can go out with friends and eat anything and I don't feel guilty. And invariably I pick the healthier options.

@Lindy0070 I'm losing at a very similar pace to you, and I think a few others are too. 16lbs is an incredible loss, staying at 1lb means by Easter you'll have lost close to two stone. That's what I'm aiming for.

SamJM2 · 16/02/2025 12:12

@MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals this is it! I use to go out and feeling bad for ordering and eating what I wanted, but then that would make me hit a mental cycle of going home and eating more. I found im an emotional eater and food is 100% emotion linked for me. Which meant the food noise qas consistently there. Now it's not i can get stressed without binging on a big bag of crisps. I can feel shit/sad about things and not turn to the chocolate.

And just for those that are slow having losses like myself... I tried on a dress I wore 2 years ago and it was baggy... the happiness I felt in a none scale victory was awesome. Go try something on that you've worn and it felt tight... see how you feel now.

Lindy0070 · 16/02/2025 18:59

@MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals To lose two stone by Easter would be amazing!!! Thanks for highlighting that. It really made my day 🙌🏻

mjjourney · 16/02/2025 21:18

Happy Sunday everyone!

Week 12 weigh in and jab day - 1lbs off this week but was up 1.6lbs from yesterday as was drinking lots of Prosecco yesterday! So expect that to drop this week

Total weight loss 25.8lbs- aiming for that 2 stone loss!!

Will take first extra dose of 5mg and then order the 7.5- looking to change from med express to cloud pharmacy

WittyLimeBiscuit · 17/02/2025 09:47

A friend has been talking to an obesity nurse who supplies 'large' pens. I suspect what she means is it's a higher dose pen, but you administer a reduced does each time, i.e. a 15mg x4 pen could potentially provide 12 doses (she gave the example of 6 doses per pen)

Has anyone come across this? It sort of makes sense if we can do intermediate doses by counting clicks, but I wondered if this impacted the rate at which it was released/worked.

And another question. I've still not managed to get a bonus dose — first pen I forced it around, but the plunger didn't move (someone suggested they may have modified the design) but the second pen I just couldn't budge. The waste is killing me, so any tips on buying needles to extract would be much appreciated
Height 5'6'
SW 17st 2
CW 15st 9
Goal, healthy BMI
Total loss 21lbs

OrangeDonald · 17/02/2025 10:02

@WittyLimeBiscuit the red flag issue with this advice is that the pens are good for 30 days once first used. So whilst in theory you could get a million doses of 2.5mg out of a 15 pen, what you're injecting isn't necessarily fresh and sterile, especially after a month or two or three 🤷

My last pen was a 5mg one but i counted clicks to get 2x 2.5mg doses, and 3x 3.75mg. After that there was still plenty of medicine left in the pen but i didn't want to take the risk so just binned what was left and moved onto a fresh pen.

frogpigdonkey · 17/02/2025 14:03

Week 11 weigh and jab day
SW 15 stone
CW 13 stone 7
TW ????

Huzzah and hurrah! This feels like a major milestone for me- 21lbs, a stone and a half, 10% of my start weight gone! Although the loss is still slow and steady I feel I've broken out of the range of just under 14 stone, and away from the same stone that I gain and lose frequently! Shows me the importance of mini goals and milestones on this long journey but also just to keep on going when the progress seems slow, it's given me a real boost. 2 stone next mini goal!

Has anyone else experienced needle hesitation as they've injected! On week 13, and this week and last week I've had to psych myself up to inject. Could do it no problem before!!!

Had a good weight loss month on 5mg (for me) on 11 lbs lost and 23 weight loss overall since starting mid November. No longer obese now overweight

Yes, I was on Saxenda in 2020. It’s a daily injection and I had to psyche myself up for it and just could not do it daily. Once a week is manageable, I can psych myself up for that but daily was too much.

OrangeDonald · 18/02/2025 12:25

W11 D1

SW 90.1kg (14.18 stone)
CW 83.8kg (13.19 stone)
GW <70 kg (11 stone)

Total loss so far 6.4kg (1 whole stone!)

What a day to stand on the scales! I've lost an entire stone. And my BMI is now bang on 30, so I am saying goodbye to being in the obese category and happily galloping into the overweight zone.

And its not been hard work. I'm eating healthier, because junk food now seems meh to me. Im eating smaller portions because overeating doesn't feel good. Side effects are minimal and 3.75mg is still achieving the perfect balance of suppression but still having appetite. I am so so so so so so so in awe of this medication. What a happy day!

JunoRoma · 18/02/2025 13:24

That's great @OrangeDonald!

@oram

shrinkingthiswinter · 18/02/2025 16:57

Ugh, am regretting going up to 5mg. Day 7 and still can’t really eat. Also problems with constipation and water balance. Will delay dose until tomorrow and go back to 3.75.

My BMI is down from 35 to 30, so there’s less of me to treat, which presumably matters for dose. Was silly to go up really.
