Welcome all December 2024 starters, and November and January starters too😊. As we're almost at the end of the first thread, I thought to start a new one before it finishes.

@JunoRoma I’m so much colder too. On holiday it was really nice and in general I like it, because I was getting a bit hot flushy and that’s stopped. But it’s minus 5 here today and I’m too cold. It’s very lucky I’m also smaller so I can fit extra layers under my coats.

frogpigdonkey · 11/02/2025 08:35

@shrinkingthiswinter you are absolutely right and thanks for the reality check! It's just it started so fast I got overexcited about how quickly it would happen and it's been about a pound a week for ages!

Week 10 weight and jab day!
SW 15 stone
CW 13 stone 8
TW ?? 10 stone
Loss 20 lbs

Still creeping down slowly! On the plus side still feeling pretty fine- not much nausea or stomach issues. Still a bit disheartened by the pace when I feel I'm eating very well . But feel good and plodding along 😬

20lb weight loss is brilliant!! Definitely not plodding along. Slow and steady wins the race 🙌🏻👍🏻

TrinityWaves · 11/02/2025 12:27

Hello gang, I'm W11D7, weighed in today as seeing school friends tonight and we'll be going for a buffet. I'll inject tomorrow as usual, though, very happy on the 💚green pen💚 still (7.5mg).

⚖️ -4 lb this week (last week was only 0.4, though!)

SW 263.4 (Class 3 morbid obesity-43)
CW 227.8 (Class 2 obesity-37)
⛔ TL 35.6

TW 168 (Overweight-27)

TrinityWaves · 11/02/2025 13:29

I've also started strength training! Although I feel like I'm going to die during the workout - my back feels amazing today!!

JunoRoma · 11/02/2025 14:49

Well done @TrinityWaves
💪🏻

HT2025 · 12/02/2025 09:18

I have been on 5mg for 10 days now, feel so sick I can't manage more than 800 cals a day and have put on 1lb. How does that work then?? Putting on weight on starvation rations?!

No energy to do my steps, though have been trying to keep it up, averaging about 6k a day.

So I think I will reduce to 3.75mg next time, see if that helps at all.

50somethingHRTaddict · 12/02/2025 10:50

Hi all
Sorry I have not posted in a while, but I have just got myself up to date with your posts. Congrats to all who are losing, and I hope symptoms reduce for those not feeling great
Week 12 is starting today on the 2nd week of my 5mg pen. I do need to move on now, though. I seem to be having big losses fortnightly, which isn't very healthy. I might even split this pen into 2 7.5mg doses.
Take care 🙂

MaybeMrs · 12/02/2025 13:04

5mgs wasn't for me at all @HT2025 i only lost 6lbs and i didn't feel the effects as much as 2.5mgs, plus had sulphur burps, period pains and symptoms is didn't get on 2.5. However, when i used my last 5mg, and also added a bit of extra from the golden to hopefully make 7.5mgs and i've been fine on it. Lost 4lb in the first week! Just the boost i needed.

SW 18st 9lbs
CW 16st 6lbs

Lost 2st 3lbs (now on week 9)

JunoRoma · 12/02/2025 17:24

I had my first duff needle today.
I usually use 1 click to prime the needle, which produces a small drop of liquid at the tip.
Today when I primed: nothing. Repeated the process: nothing. Third time for luck: nothing.
I replaced the needle and the second needle worked fine.

HesDeadBenYouCanStopNow · 12/02/2025 22:38

Posting early as today was a big day for me, finally crossed the 12 stone barrier (only just) and am officially 11 something, albeit that something is 13.8lbs but hey it feels like a big win 😀

I'm still finding the 3.75 suits me, so I'll stick until it slows again. I've also been steadily exercising for 3 weeks now to improve my fitness. I'm feeling pretty focussed and 'on it'. I'm just transitioning sizes again so some things fit and others don't in the same size 14, still quite a way to go to get into the 12's that I want to wear, but I can see that happening now 😀

Having a thyroid issue I was struggling to not gain weight even when eating very little. What I;m eating hasn't changed much but weight seems to be coming off faster than calorie deficit would account for. I think it's got a relationship with blood sugars. Which might make maintenance harder, but if I need to stay on a low dose for a really long tail off then I can cope with that (even forever isn't too daunting at the moment as I've very little side effects).

Week 10 weigh in so far

SW 14 stone 3.8 BMI 32.2
CW 11 stone 13.8 BMI 27.1
TW 11 stone BMI 24.9

W1 -7lb 2.5mg. - 7
W2 -4.4lb 2.5mg. -11.4
W3 -2.4lb 2.5 mg. -13,8
W4 -3lb 2.5mg. -16.8
W5 -5lb 2.5mg. -21.8
W6 +0.2lb 2.5mg. -21.6
W7 -4lb 3.75mg. -25.6
W8 0 3.75mg. -25.6
W9 3.2 3.75mg. -28.8
W10 3 so far -31.8

SW 107kg
CW 91kg
GW 75kg

Two milestones reached this week:
Halfway to goal (16kg down, 16kg to go).
Have lost 15% of my original weight.

Onwards and downwards!

Goinghome20 · 13/02/2025 08:59

Well done all! Steady losses all round 🙌

Jab and weight day. Week 11 D1 for me.

1lb off this week so still slow... but!
that takes me (just) into the 11s so Im happy!!!

Sw13.7
Cw11.13
Gw 9.7

On my 2nd week of 5mg and its working well until day 5 then I get to use my willpower! No side effects! Think doing 4 weeks of 3.75mg has helped with that.

Just signed up with a new provider. Been with Asda since I started. I liked collecting in person but they have no maintenance. Reading threads on here made me think about moving before my BMI gets too low.. and also will be saving some £!

Considered Cloud but ended up going with Oushk because they do maintenence and you can choose your delivery day.

BigTightropeWalker · 13/02/2025 10:57

Hi, looking for a bit of advice. I'm on 7.5mg (have gone up a dose every 4 weeks since starting). But have had bad frequent headaches that started when I was on 5mg. I upped my hydration, seemed to help briefly but they came back, then I thought I was overdoing the electrolytes! Haven't been sleeping well, which can also cause headaches. Really not sure if they're a side effect of mounjaro or run-of-the-mill tension headaches. Was going to go up to 10mg next but not sure I want to risk a worsening of the headaches in case it's related. Has anyone had this? It's affecting my work, I'm not sure I can bear it much longer. They're not constant, but very frequent. I often wake up with a headache having gone to bed feeling okay.

BigTightropeWalker · 13/02/2025 11:19

Also my other question is about Medicine Market Place - has anyone used them? Are they okay? I've been using Medexpress who have been fine, but really looking to get the cost down a bit. (Have put my discount code on the other thread but it's never been used 😩).

Goinghome20 · 13/02/2025 11:22

I would stay on the dose youre on for another week or so and see if headaches improve?

Thanks @Goinghome20 that might make more sense. I've put in a query with Medexpress to discuss it, but not sure how helpful that will be.

I also have a pint of water by the bed and make sure to drink it when I wake up. Even if its the middle of the night.

Since starting MJ i realise that I never drank enough! Also found a love of water I never had before!

That's a good idea! I pee SO much in the night that maybe I wake up dehydrated, hence the headache. Maybe a slurp of water when I get up would help that. I know if might make me need another trip to the loo but it would be worth it.

It's amazing to read about everyone's amazing weight loss! And how each person is following their own journey.
Just a quick reminder that it's going to work differently for everyone so don't be disheartened if you've not lost as much as others... you're still losing and heading somewhere you weren't before this journey.

Took my 11th dose today and went with 6.25mg instead of the full 7.5. 5, made me feel so sick, but I was losing enough. I did need to take my 6th dose early due to my appetite coming back, but I'm trying to do the 'stay on as low a dose as possible for as long as possible' so 6.25 it is!

Currently on week 11, 6.25mg.

SW:129.6kg
CW:121.5kg
GW: 80kg

Nonono18 · 13/02/2025 23:28

I’ve really struggled with sweet cravings today. I took my first 7.5mg jab on Monday, so wouldn’t have thought suppression etc would already be waning. I’ve not binged or anything (100% would have pre MJ) but have eaten a mars bar and a twirl over the course of today. Hoping it’s just a blip 😕

Friday is weigh-in day for me, and after 10 weeks it's the first time I've had an actual gain. It's only one pound but I just feel so dispirited. Apart from anything else, doing this is so expensive that I really can't be messing it up. I was tired and pissed off yesterday and had sugar cravings, which I succumbed to. I know I need to just move on with an 'onwards and upwards' attitude but I just wasn't expecting this.

Ahh that is so annoying! Id be gutted too.
Maybe its time to go up a dose?

You know if you weigh in a couple of days it will probably be gone again. Or next week you might get a whoosh and lose a bigger number.

Onwards and upwards is the right way to go.

Bigger pircture and all that. Youre so far away from where you started.

How are the headaches now? Did more water help?

BigTightropeWalker · 14/02/2025 09:57

Thanks @Goinghome20 I appreciate that. It is gutting but might galvanise me a bit into a week of planning my food better etc. I need to use my disappointment to motivate me rather than let it get me down!
