Welcome all December 2024 starters, and November and January starters too😊. As we're almost at the end of the first thread, I thought to start a new one before it finishes.

It's fascinating to see the range of losses here and hear the stories- as noted I've been a bit flat after a roaring start and getting a bit disheartened but this helps me see I'm well within the range of experiences so thank you all for sharing!

I'm trying to think of non scale wins (while repeating it's a marathon not a sprint over and over in my head). For me it's clothes- not new clothes, I have a beautiful wardrobe with some lovely (and expensive) pieces I haven't been able to wear for a few years. Thankfully they are more classic than high fashion but when I'm feeling a bit glum I picture myself in some of them again and it cheers me up! Some are still a long way away but some are tangibly in reach. I'm excited to think of wearing them again!

Height: 167cm (5’6")
SW (9th Dec): 89 kg (196.2 lbs), BMI 31.9
CW: 82.5 kg (181.9 lbs), BMI 29.6
Total Loss: 6.5 kg (14.3 lbs), 7.3% weight loss

Week by Week:
W1 (16th Dec): 2.5mg, 87kg, -2 kg
W2 (23rd Dec): 2.5mg, 86kg, -1 kg
W3 (30th Dec): 2.5mg, 85.1kg, -0.9 kg
W4 (6th Jan): 5mg, 84.8kg, -0.3kg
W5 (13th Jan): 5mg, 84.3kg, -0.5kg
W6 (20th Jan): 5mg, 83.8kg, +0.5kg
W7 (27th Jan): 5mg, 82.7kg, -1.3kg

Was feeling quite discouraged by some sluggish weight loss for a few weeks, but then I think I need to be more focused about drinking well and eating enough protein.

frogpigdonkey · 31/01/2025 22:24

@CandidAzureBee my experience was quite similar. Big losses on 2.5 and much slower at 5. It's still a good loss overall and I agree on the protein and liquids.

Not a great week this week. My shot day and weigh in is tomorrow but my food cravings are back with a vengeance! Been a really busy time in work too that hasn’t helped and been struggling to fight off a cold.
This has been my second week on 3.75mg and my sulphur burps came back and my need to snack. Ate a big bar of chocolate one night this week and been picking more.
I think I’m going to try 5mg from tomorrow and see if my body responds better to that. Fingers crossed it doesn’t give me a dodgy stomach 🤞🏻

Slimwannabe · 02/02/2025 09:25

W9 done, continuing on 5mg for now. Injecting in thigh, 1700-1800cals a day, minor to no side effects. 22lbs total lost so far, which I am really pleased with, and have just slipped into a new stone bracket.

SW: 273lbs
CW: 251lbs
GW: 154lbs

mjjourney · 02/02/2025 09:28

Jab day!

Week 10 - 3lbs off this week which I'm delighted about! Injected 5mg in back of arm last week and suppression has been fab!

Total loss so far 23.4lbs. Only 1.3 lbs until into next stone zone so that's the goal this week!

Happy Sunday everyone! X

mjjourney · 02/02/2025 09:29

@Slimwannabe well done! What a feeling seeing a new number at the start on the scales! X

JunoRoma · 02/02/2025 13:14

5th week on 3.75mg and unfortunately it doesn't seem to be working as well this week. I've been eating the same breakfast as usual but noticing I'm properly hungry (feeling it in my stomach rather than just my brain) three hours later.

For me, the slower gastric emptying is important to keep this feasible. If I'm spending half the day constantly aware of being hungry then keeping to a calorie deficit makes me irritable and distracted.

For my next dose (mid-week) I'll be titrating up and hoping this will help. I had been doing 45 clicks on a 5mg pen so planning 50 clicks this week, 55 clicks next week, then the full 5mg in half term week (not working that week so easier to manage any side effects).

BigTightropeWalker · 02/02/2025 14:46

On Friday I went up to 7.5mg but really not noticing increased appetite suppression. I feel if I didn't notice it straight away I'm unlikely to notice it more as the week progresses. Has anyone else had this?

Slimwannabe · 02/02/2025 16:52

mjjourney · 02/02/2025 09:29

@Slimwannabe well done! What a feeling seeing a new number at the start on the scales! X

Thank you! Yes, that's such a motivator!

Just tried drawing the bonus dose out of the pen and injecting with an insulin needle. Drawing out the dose was easy, length of the needle was slightly terrifying! Took a little extra push to get into the skin as slightly thicker than the pen needles, but injected fine with no issues (actually found it easier as I usually have to put quite a bit of pressure on the pen to discharge the dose). Not as scary as I thought that it would be at all!

Slimwannabe · 02/02/2025 16:55

@JunoRoma I'm 4 weeks in on the 5mg and feeling the suppression starting to wane more over the past couple of weeks. I've got another 5mg pen to use, but then I think I want to move up as my body seems to be acclimatising to the higher doses faster.

I've seen MJ users posting comments implying that you reach an individual dose point (not the same dose for each person) which works long-term and will continue to work just as effectively in week 30 of that dose as it did in week 3.

Based on my experience of 2.5mg and 3.75mg, I'm sceptical that this will happen for me, but would be happy to be proved wrong.

I hope that's the case, it sounds great! I was absolutely chomping at the bit for some choccy yesterday!

MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals · 03/02/2025 16:50

Finally caught up with everyone's news. Phew. Love all the stories.

So I jabbed yesterday. W8 D1. I've lost 15 lbs from when I started. I'd had a lull and was getting a bit disheartened, but I've ramped the protein up this week massively and starting with a protein yoghurt before 9. It's helped with the constipation, I feel more energetic and I can see the losses again now.

Im assuming I'll keep going at 1lb per week ish and I'm delighted at that. I'm still on 2.5mg. The suppression is massive still and I've ordered another 2.5mg for the next month too.

I've also ordered myself a walking pad. I'm not going to go out walking after work. I just don't want to. It's cold and dark and I want my pjs. So walking pad will be here in 10
days and I'm going to watch tv and use it.

Slimwannabe · 03/02/2025 17:16

@MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals the walking pad sounds like a great idea! I also hate going out in the dark so have been doing a lunchtime walk, but it's a pretty short one!

MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals · 03/02/2025 17:28

@Slimwannabe i try at lunch, but sometimes it doesn't work. My friend had one at hers the other day and I asked to try it as I was a bit worried it wouldn't be big enough. But actually it was awesome and the one I've gone for goes up to 6mph.

ShadowVixen85 · 03/02/2025 18:12

09/12/2024
SW - 19st 8.5lb
CW - 17st 12.5lb

No side effects yet, started 7.5mg pen today.

frogpigdonkey · 03/02/2025 18:14

Weigh and Jab day. Week 9 day 1, first 7.5 jab
SW 15 stone
CW 13 stone 9
GW ??? 10 stone

Not great but still losing. I'm making an effort to really up my game on the food side especially with protein. Still have suppression and definitely aware of slow food transit. Looking forward and hoping to hit 13 stone seven this week for a stone and a half off!

Slimwannabe · 03/02/2025 19:25

@MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals do you mind sharing which one you got?

MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals · 03/02/2025 20:56

@Slimwannabe I've gone for:
DeerRun Under Desk Treadmill Walking Pad for Home, 1864W Walking Machine with APP Control, Max 136KG Walking Treadmill with Training Courses & Multi-Runner Races for Home.

That's the very long title on Amazon. Was £169.00 but they had a voucher yesterday that made it £149. It's the exact model my friend had, and when it was at 4pm I felt like I was doing a good walk.

MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals · 03/02/2025 20:57

@frogpigdonkey ive been the same as you with slow losses. I've definitely found the increase in protein has helped a fair bit this last week. I think I'll be 1lb a week forever more.

CrystalDeCanter · 04/02/2025 07:28

Hi all, I'm just catching up and checking in. I'm on a 3.75 dose and a bit concerned that it's not really suppressing any more and my weight is plateauing or even creeping up.

I'm also having a mini freak out as have been referred to a specialist who is investigating some post menopause bleeding, which I blithely assumed was related to Mounjaro but my doc seemed concerned and I'm mid scans and specialist trips. Keep ya fingers crossed all's clear 😬

JunoRoma · 04/02/2025 07:42

@CrystalDeCanter I'm in a similar position with 3.75mg. Considering increasing to 5mg in the next couple of weeks.

I hope you get answers soon about the bleeding and that it's nothing concerning.

shrinkingthiswinter · 04/02/2025 10:31

@CrystalDeCanter good they’re investigating. Keep us updated - we’ll be glad to hear it’s all ok.

I’m doing 3.75 split 2.5 and 1.25 halfway through the week. Am also a bit conflicted because can be quite hungry. But on the other hand that’s often because I’m training a lot so I do need to eat.

Luxecalmeetvolupte · 04/02/2025 14:08

Haven't posted for a while but still trucking! After a couple of weeks doing 3.75 I felt like I'd plateaued so went for a 5mg jab on Sun. Well. The constipation has gone... But I'm burpy, nauseous, headachey and constantly freezing (usually run hot). Hoping it wears off in a day or two otherwise I might go back down next week. Ugh.
