Welcome all December 2024 starters, and November and January starters too😊. As we're almost at the end of the first thread, I thought to start a new one before it finishes.

@JunoRoma I’ve ordered two skirts and a pair of trousers - all with elasticated waists! 😆

They are generous 16/L and I’m not sure how long they’ll last me, but I was a size 14 when I was 18 and not at all fat, because am large all over (head, hands, feet, shoulders, hips…). So I reckon they should be good for a while. And I do need to wear something.

I probably don’t want to go below 14/16 now I’ve had kids and am nearly at menopause - my female relatives are all distinctly plump and they live to late 80s to low 100s. Will see, but I have difficulty believing that the ideal BMI for my height would be healthy for me. It’s what my skinny young teen weighs and he’s my height and looks like a whippet with shoulders. I was that weight at 15 when I was on the cross country team. So that doesn’t seem like a good idea. 12-15 kg above the supposed ideal would put me just into the overweight bracket, but still less than I weighed at 20.

CatRash · 22/01/2025 22:30

Well done on everyone's weight loss so far. I passed the 1st lost milestone about 2 weeks ago...I am now at the weight that I usually start dieting 🤣

I'm another one in the weird period camp too. My first period of MJ turned up early, followed by a mini bleed on day 10. It's now gone completely AWOL 😕...I've felt PMS-y a few times but still no period!

Has anyone else sense of smell heightened? Reminds me of when I was pregnant! I'm like a bloodhound!

SW 107kg
CW 94kg
GW 75kg

Loss this week: 0.5kg
Total loss so far: 13kg (just over 2 stone)

Goinghome20 · 23/01/2025 08:39

S weight 13.7
C weight 12.3
G weight 9.7

Wk1 -2.5 8lbs
Wk2 -2.5 4lbs
Wk3 -2.5 2lbs
Wk4 -2.5 0lbs
Wk5 -2.5 1bs
Wk6 - 3.75 1lb
Wk7 - 3.75 2lb

Lost another 2lb this week.

My weight loss has slowed down a lot on 3.75mg but no side effects and I can enjoy food.

it is tempting to move up to 5 this week. Has anyone else stayed lower for longer?

So this week was a bit pants, actually put on 0.2lb. I still had fairly good suppression and my in take was in line with other weeks but the MJ benefits seem to have waned. I suffered really bad water retention and some light headed feelings, I felt really bloated to.

So I've taken the decision to move up from 2.5 and I've taken 3.75 on Thursday night. Woke up this morning to have lost 1.8lb in a day. I feel less bloated but still have some water retention (shows by big imprints from my sock tops).

I thought I was doing great on 2.5mg but the 6th week really needed a step up so I've ordered the 5mg for my next pen.

SW 14 stone 3.8lb (199.8 lb)
CW 12 stone 8.4lb
TW 11 stone

W1 7lb
W2 4.4lb
W3 2.4lb
W4 3lb
W5 5lb
W6 +0.2

Lost over 1 1/2 stone in 6 weeks so am still really happy 😊

Your weight figures seem very similar to mine although I started at 15st. I too get the ‘sock top’ thing. I had a knee replacement last September following years of ligament damage playing hockey and rugby so can’t run know. I am trying to get into cycling but i do miss running.
I have plateaued a bit this week and only lost 2kg which is much lower than previously. Tiredness affects me badly for the first few days after my Thursday injections. I have just ordered my next pen and have decided to stay on 5mg for now as the suppression is good. If anything I don’t think I am eating enough at all. I drink milky coffee lattes throughout the day so there are calories in there I suppose. I’m combining the idea of intermittent fasting by only eating in the early evening so having long breaks between food. I think it’s my personality too. Once I decide to do something I can really be disciplined and struck to it. I lose weight, but then over the months it creeps back. I am determined not to let this happen again though.
I have a family holiday to look forward to now at the beginning of July in Greece so I intend to up the exercise as I move towards my goal weight.
Keep going everyone !! ( started M on 5/12/24 )
SW 15 stone - 96kg
CW 12.5st - 80kg
GW 11 stone - 70kg

I finally found that video I mentioned. Very interesting 50 minutes. Goes into the all round benefits. I would be interested to know what the ‘microdosing’ levels are that he talks about.

@tally9040 really interesting video! I too am wondering exactly what dosage he is talking about - I am trying to stay as low as possible but after 2 months on 2.5 I have decided to go to 5 based on hunger coming back I will see what happens next week. I weight train 3 times a week and am glad to see this is sufficient to mitigate against muscle loss and protect against weight regain

OrangeDonald · 23/01/2025 11:59

Im struggling with food today. Injected my first 3.75 on Tuesday and last night at dinner time i was worried i should have perhaps jumped straight up to 5 as i had very little suppression. But today, its kicked in full force. Breakfast was once slice of sourdough, spread with a thick layer of houmous and a slice of parma ham and its just sitting in my stomach making me feel vaguely sick. Blergh.

JunoRoma · 23/01/2025 17:21

I took my 4th dose of 3.75mg yesterday.
The effects (delay in gastric emptying, satiety after a small portion) are still at the stronger end of the range. Since moving up to 3.75mg, the only time I've experienced physiological hunger was a day when I was out of usual routine and ended up with a seven-hour gap between lunch and dinner.
Side effects are minimal: some heartburn when lying down too soon after a meal, that I've had on and off since week three of 2.5mg.

MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals · 23/01/2025 18:49

Some great updates from everyone and great losses.

I'm still frustrated. I'm on 2.5mg still (week 6) and the suppression is huge. I'm not eating enough at all. (Some days only 600-800 cals) and I'm just not losing weight. I'm still at 12.5lb off, and weigh day is Sunday officially, but not shifted yet. I really hoped for 1-2lb per week but I'm stuck.

I had the same last week, I'd been losing very well and then had a week of a small gain (0.2lb) yet still strong suppression and eating below maintenance level so it felt unwarranted. I also felt like the blood sugar benefits were reduced, feeling a bit shaky and off.

I opted to move up to 3.75mg, this resulted in rapid losses straight away, not a lot of difference in suppression (it couldn't really get much stronger anyway), However I've had a bit of an upset stomach since Monday.

I've decided to continue at 3.75mg and see how it goes this week. Weekly weigh in tomorrow but its been a strong week, even taking into account the ejector stomach

I hope your next week feels better

@LC4life sorry to hear about the anxiety. I hope it continues to ease.

Thank you for posting about your diet and cals. I still think this is where I'm going wrong, so I'm going to start tracking properly and get some more protein in as well.

Hi there,
I too am on medication for anxiety and mild depression. Nothing to be ashamed of, I’ve suffered my whole life and it helps. I’m hoping continuing on this health journey (that’s how I see it) will benefit my whole well-being not just by losing the weight.
First week on 3.75mg and all good. Weigh in on Sunday so fingers crossed. I feel a lot better, not so sluggish. Had a very long period of 7-8 days which as I’m peri as well that could be it too 🤦‍♀️.
Us ladies put up with a lot!!! Have a great weekend all.

HesDeadBenYouCanStopNow · 24/01/2025 09:16

Week 7 weigh in

SW 14 stone 3.8 BMI 32.2
CW 12 stone 6.2 BMI 28.1
TW 11 stone BMI 24.9

W1 -7lb 2.5mg
W2 -4.4lb 2.5mg
W3 -2.4lb 2.5 mg
W4 -3lb 2.5mg
W5 -5lb 2.5mg
W6 +0.2lb 2.5mg
W7 -4lb 3.75mg

My first week on 3.75mg wasn't great, upset stomach for 4 days and feeling tired from that.
Opted for the next injection in the back of my arm to see if that has any impact on side effects.

But I've lost 12.8% of my starting weight and am more than half way to my initial goal.

I'm down a dress size and you can definitely see the difference on my face too. All in the right direction 😊

glittermittens · 24/01/2025 09:24

Good morning December starters!!
Weighed in today and had my 8th jab. Only lost 0.6lb this week, which takes me to 15lbs off exactly. A little disappointed but my food noise was so loud this week, I knew I needed to move up a dose. I did 4 weeks on 2.5mg, 3 weeks on 3.75mg and I've taken my first 5mg dose at 5am this morning.
Feeling pretty meh, headache is awful today, and nausea is pretty high, but food noise has gone. Hopefully that will be it for side effects.

Hi, I'm ordering my next dose (7.5mg) and am thinking of switching to the cheapest provider - Medicine Market Place. Has anyone had bad experiences of them?

Goinghome20 · 24/01/2025 15:16

Can I ask everyone ... do you alll add your exercise to Nutracheck?
Ive been stepping up the walking recently and find I need to eat more than the 1200cals a day.

I am walking for 1-2hrs and especially if hilly ... i feel a little shakey and empty afterwards

JunoRoma · 24/01/2025 17:24

@Goinghome20 I use MFP rather than Nutracheck, but I've set it so any walking / cycling gets added automatically from Google Fit (my phone can tell when I'm doing these things). I don't bother entering strength training.

I can choose whether I want MFP to take that exercise into account when setting the day's calorie / nutrient goals. On the days when I do more exercise than usual I don't tend to eat significantly more calories but I do try to increase my protein intake.

Sounds like you definitely need to up your calories a bit if you are feeling like that.

My fitbit is synced, but I stick to the same calorie goal regardless of exercise- but I'm chained to the desk so walk much less! I aim for 1700-1800 a day.

I'm with Juniper, so no experiences to share, I'm afraid.

Slimwannabe · 24/01/2025 18:01

@glittermittens sorry to hear about the side effects; is it worth trying jabbing before bed, to see if you can sleep through the worst of it?

NeverJustInTime · 24/01/2025 18:02

squidgymum · 22/01/2025 10:50

I take fibre gummies every day in case of times when suppression is very high and I cant get enough fibre, and Laxido when needed. I would get something to take today, with Laxido you can take several sachets if things are bad, just check the instructions. Failing that glycerine suppositories.

Oh my word @squidgymum thank goodness you suggested suppositories. I was in an absolute state this morning still having not gone, so much pain. Thank goodness I got some, you definitely saved me!! 🤩
