I gave signed up and am now waiting for the blood test to arrive. I'll post updates on here so you will know if it is reputable or not. Hope it will help others.

Thanks OP, I'm curious to see how this goes. I saw a few posters on the January start thread that said they joined Shemed and I was wondering how it all works. I'm not interested in it as I'm already well into my MJ jabs (and I wouldn't go for a subscription service like theirs anyway - just me personally) but I don't mind reading your updates.

Kebabo · 01/01/2025 09:11

Thanks for your post. A lot of people are skeptical, as am I, about the deal. Thought if I post my experience with SheMed, others may know whether to join or avoid like the plague

TheGladLilacDuck · 01/01/2025 11:44

I joined yesterday too! The price seems too good not to try. I get people being skeptical but hoping this works for me and gives me the push to loose the weight I've been struggling with for 5 years since having my daughter.

I think we need to post about our experience and results to help sieve through all the negativity and hopefully it will put others minds to rest and can help more people. And if it's awful we can help people avoid if needed!

kittykarate · 01/01/2025 12:07

I have my blood test kit, need to get my brain in gear and get it done.

Kebabo · 01/01/2025 13:32

Can't wait to start. Posting on here could help people know whether or not it is too good to ve true at the price they are offering

I’ve signed up to SheMed and also awaiting blood tests to arrive @Kebabo

Lotusbug · 01/01/2025 13:45

I’m also waiting for my blood test to arrive (although it’s been sitting at Northern Ireland Mailing Centre for over a week now- hoping it’s just Christmas post delays and hasn’t got lost somewhere 😂)

JBJ · 01/01/2025 13:49

I'm seriously considering this - only thing holding me back is the worry of being tied in for a year, as, as much I I know I have so much weight to lose that it'll take at least that time, I'm concerned that if I get side effects that I can't deal with, but the company don't deem bad enough for me to leave, then I'll be left with a bill each month and still be obese!
I can just about stretch to £99 a month. Can't stretch to any more, so that rules out pretty much every other provider.

If I order the blood test, then change my mind before the injections start, do you know if I can withdraw at that point, or does ordering the blood test trigger the contract?

KeenGreen · 01/01/2025 22:16

I’ve just ordered the blood test kit yesterday too!
so hopefully will be starting soon too.

Keen to join in and share experiences also 😊

I’m not 100% sure but from what I can see, as I just signed up for the blood test yesterday so waiting for that first then next step, but
it says that once they review your test results and medical questionnaire and deem you suitable then you will be charged £99 every 4 weeks for the injections. Which implies you are locked in when you order the blood test.

They specify that doesn’t increase with dose though, which is very good compared to others which charge more as the dose increases.

I saw comments on their social media which suggest that you can cancel anytime with 28 days notice, and other comments from them which specify only if it is deemed unsuitable and including side effects.

I am also worried about being locked into something if I don’t want to take it anymore! But figured it was worth a shot and if I do get bad side effects they will hopefully honour their terms.

JBJ · 01/01/2025 22:33

Yeah I thought that would be the case. I need to have a really good think about it as it's a hell of a lot of money, which I can't really afford at all, if truth be told.

I get very bad anxiety taking any medications as I've had nasty reactions to stuff in the past, and I'm terrified I'm going to waste money on something I can't tolerate. I wish there was time to get a month from elsewhere just to try, then have the month off before signing up to it with these long term!

Farcry66 · 01/01/2025 22:38

I signed up for it yesterday as well. Not got my blood test yet but it tells me it's on its way! Will look forward to reading about your journey on it.

kittykarate · 02/01/2025 07:29

Blood test done this morning, process pretty painless. There was a 20 minute wait to be connected to an operator, and it was quite hard to hear her. Lovely american lady anyway, she talked me through the process very clearly.

Lotusbug · 02/01/2025 14:11

I did my blood test today too- surprisingly painless process.

The post Christmas weigh in wasn’t great but needs must 😂😂

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 02/01/2025 19:40

Oh gosh I just started a Shemed Starters thread and didn't realise this already existed!!!

I had troubles logging on this morning and got in a Tiz about whether to eat and then fast again but it was fine at 4pm.

Like a pp it was American and a bit faint but very nice and to the point/script. I felt reassured doing it with someone tbh.

Great there's so many of us. I had no idea!

What is the blood test like? I'm not great with blood so hoping I won't feel dizzy or faint when doing it!

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 02/01/2025 20:11

I planned to have my husband around for the same reason, and wasn't sure I'd be able to do it but it was honestly really straightforward.

When ready for the call they get you to show them your ID and photo the scales (on the other side of the camera) and then they talk you through the kit.

First you get out all the bits and check they're there and scan some codes.

The the bit you put on your arm was painless. I even worried I hadn't done it right as you wait a minute or two for the blood to drip and I thought mine hadn't punctured!!!

They talk you through it. It's quite nicely to the point/script and you don't see them. You out the phone somewhere it can see you (I did it on top of a chest of drawers) while you do it and I found it was quite reassuring to be talked through the steps.

Kebabo · 03/01/2025 09:59

I'm still waiting for my blood test. Worried now as I'm back at work on Monday and don't know when̈ I'll be able to do it.

I get they say they are running a clinical trial, but it seems strange to me. There isn't any control groups, and how reliable are the results from people paying to take part. I couldn't find any scientific research background for him, although I've only done a cursory check. It seems as though shemed is a branch of an online pharmacy Emed.
If a supplier is trying to lock you in at a certain price, have they got knowledge of a price crash coming up?

My understanding is it isn’t a trial it is a study and they will use the data collected over the year to look at the effectiveness, side effects, changes in blood results etc

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 03/01/2025 11:37

Here's the study - I asked when I was worried and they emailed it to me.

I think it's more like the Zoe one when they started. People paid to take part and then they used the data.

Good luck to all of you using SheMed. I would have been very tempted and like the sound of the check ins and blood test. I'm sure you will all see various health markers improve whilst on MJ and that will be so encouraging.

I haven’t got mine yet.

In ordered on 31st Dec, I got an email just now saying they are delayed due to demand and will ship early next week. 🤞

I got the same email also!

I don't mind waiting a little, understandably there will be a high demand after christmas and new years. Hopefully it will come by next week ☺️

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 03/01/2025 18:43

My blood test got delivered this morning and I keep checking in case they've uploaded results! They do say 2-3 working days so realistically it could be tue/wed.... checks again
