I took one dose of 7.5mg and it made me feel ‘off’… not sure how I would describe it but my stomach was churning a lot, nausea and just a general off feeling for the first 3 days.

Im back down to 5mg now this week and plan on staying at 5 for another month I think. Suppression is fine on 5mg.

Is anyone on or going up to a 10 pen soon? Apart from 2 weeks on a 3.75 bridging dose I've moved up with each pen. I know that's what you're supposed to do, but lots of people still seem to be on low doses with good losses.

At the start of October I had 37lb to lose and have 18lb to go. I get good suppression, but definitely feel it's time to move up at the end of each pen. I guess I feel a bit disappointed that I'm not one of those who can do it all on just 2.5 or 5, like maybe my willpower isn't as good!

I have done 3 x 7.5mg, a 6.25mg, and then another 7.5.mg. I’ve not decided yet whether to go up to 10mg or whether to stay on 7.5. Im going to see how the rest of this week goes. I don’t have long left to do so I’m hoping not to go too high a dose if I can help it.

You are doing what you are supposed to do.

All our bodies are different and respond differently to the pens.

Dont be disappointed, you are doing fantastic.

Myself personally I don’t want to go up to the max dose. I want to go up and then come back down when I’m closer to goal and I feel that will be easier if I don’t go all the way up.

I know that’s not the proper way but at the moment it’s working for me.

My plan is to stock up on a few pens and micro dose for a while once I hit goal to help with maintaining.

OP posts:
thekewgirl · 29/12/2024 20:18

That's my plan too - micro dosing for a while once I reach goal. I've looked at the Ousck (?) maintenance plan too for £20 a month but not sure it's worth it - maybe I should put the money into an extra pen.

I hit my 2 stone mark this morning! 7lbs left to go so I am very close... I've had a few off days on the 7.5mg. Once when I overate and once when I went for a spicy meal and I threw up in the night. I am a bit wary as I go to India for a week in the middle of January and I don't want to be ill there but I also need to eat.... especially as I will be on hosted work evening events and so I have to have a meal... not sure if I should miss the week before I go....

Me, I’m going up on Saturday, I took my 4th yesterday of 7,5.

i am hoping not to go higher than that though, and stay at 10.

Hi all, need a bit of advice. Ever since the Christmas period (last week or so) where I've eaten more because of Christmas etc, I've noticed my food noise has been more prominent. I injected 7.5mg Thursday and for some reason my appetite isn't suppressed? It's only ever since I've eaten slightly more (or over) what I normally eat. Is this normal? I'm worried it's not working anymore. It's my last week on 7.5mg before I go up. Prior to this I've not had any issues with food noise. I'm really worried it's no longer working for me?

Exactly the same happened to me about two weeks into 7.5mg. I felt like I had a minor cold but no runny nose etc.

You just need to go up, it doesn’t stop working at the optimal dose for you. I’m the same. On Thursday move to 10 , which is a therapeutic dose and should be fine.

Maarva · 29/12/2024 22:14

I’ve not posted for a while but I have lost nearly 2 stone and have 2 more to go to goal weight. I moved up to 5 but felt horrendous - burps, diarrhoea and extreme fatigue so skipped a week, went back to 2.5 and now been ok on 3.75 for a couple of weeks.

I am feeling cold and tired but I can cope with that. And glad I’ve not had to move up to the really expensive pens yet.

Just changed to Cloud as they offer maintenance so hopefully that will be a good move. Am convinced as an obese child and having a lifetime struggle with obesity I will need this drug long term.

NSV I’ve managed to squeeze into a pair of size 10 skinny jeans. I’ve never in my life been this slim so it’s really incredible.

Also got the Shotsy app which is good for logging progress…

@terracottacountryfarm Time to go up a dose I think.

@Maarva Amazing, well done! Love the Shotsy app.

Checking in. Just did my 1st 7.5mg jab this afternoon. I have moved my jab day from Friday morning to Sun evening (over a couple of weeks) as I always felt iffy all Friday.

Unsurprisingly, no weight loss. I've stuck to small meals but had plenty of wine and the heroes tin has tempted me a little too much. Back to it now, no chocolate or alcohol going forward. Had a big gym session today and a bowl of homemade soup as I'm craving some nutrients.

ShineyHappyPeeple · 29/12/2024 22:54

Thanks for the new thread! I had a really busy run up to Christmas so wasn't able to keep in touch with thread 5.

Great to see other people's losses! Also interesting to see how people have dealt with comments - I've had a few people notice now but nobody has mentioned the weight loss jab.

I've been on 3.75mg for the last few weeks - tried to get an extra dose out of my 5mg pen using the hard twist method and it didn't work!!

I have lost 1.5lbs this week but definitely don't feel like I've missed out on any Christmas treats - a couple of glasses of fizz and wine. I've just not over indulged like I usually do.

I've tried 5mg this time. My main challenge for the new year is to incorporate more exercise. I'm really worried about muscle loss. How are others getting on with exercise?

Week 10 for me - great Christmas. Managed eat dinner (left loads on ridiculously loaded plate) and delighted to get into some size 16 tops, can move better... love it. 1 more week of 5mg then moving up,

DeltaAlphaDelta79 · 30/12/2024 07:57

Morning all

Week 12 for me, 4th week on 7.5

SW 17'10
CE 16'7 which is the same as last week, and means I have not put on over xmas, for the first time ever.

Christmas is normally a food fest for me, but I can't believe how little I ate. We were bought lots of sweets which are still untouched.

Bonus dose for me next monday, before 2 weeks abroad, which I am anticipating a small amount going on, but who knows, as I just don't really want to eat or drink lots like I normally would!

When I get back, I intend to order straight away and go up to 10.

Have a great New Year everyone!

Losingthetimber · 30/12/2024 08:50

Another pound off this morning, I’ve done 11 weeks and 2 days and lost 30 pounds, and I’ve another 30lbs to go to goal of bmi 23.. So half way for me. BMI also dropped into a new number this morning at 27.9. I’m one stone 5 away from a healthy weight bmi.

I also lost 7 lbs right before I started this, so in total 37 pounds off.

now need to get through the next few days with friends. Sigh.. my very overweight friend will watch me like a hawk, as she did it when I saw her a few weeks ago, she’s got serious weight and food issues and is very judgey round other women’s weight due to it. the other women will be fine and cheering me on, the men won’t take any notice of what I consume.

letshavetea · 30/12/2024 09:26

Morning everyone! It was week 14 jab yesterday for me. I used 50 clicks on a 5mg pen (I guess about 4mg?). I’m taking it slowly on this pen as have good suppression and side effects of constipation and heartburn/burps. It’s been a bit better this week though - so I think I’m getting there. Will inject 5mg (bonus dose) next Sunday. I have another 5mg pen in stock and I’m undecided whether to order a 7.5mg or stick to 5mg. Any thoughts welcome!
I’ve lost half a pound this week - so frustrating as I’m now sitting at 12 stone and half a pound! BMI 27.2. Total loss only 10 and a half pounds. So, very slow but I’m keeping going.

I'm on dose two of 10mg. I've questioned myself every time I've moved up, thinking 'ah is it the right thing to do,' as I've been losing weight and feeling great - but without fail by the last dose in the pen (I've been taking the fifth) I've needed a little more will power for that week and the first week on the new dose. I'd rather go up and maybe need to titrate back, than be stuck on an under dose.

I'm at 60.2lbs total loss now - 4 stone 4 and 1/4. I really wish I'd taken more pictures at the start as its really hard to actually visualise the difference.

KolaKoalaKan · 30/12/2024 09:53

Hellllooooo
Checking in after ages because life got busy and the thread moved so fast, I was lost in a whirlwind!
I'm now week 13, and have lost 2st 4lb total but still have over 5 to go.
I had a very bizarre Xmas week MJ wise. I don't think my previous jab worked?! I had a massive bruise and huge lump at the jab site which I've never had before. The bruise is now fading and the lump reducing but it's still there. Has anyone had that before?
I was pretty much able to eat like my near normal Xmas self. No, maybe I ate less than previous years but definitely troffed away at chocolates etc with very minimal adverse effects. So... I gained 2lbs!
But, I'm sort of happy because I enjoyed a bit of over indulging over Xmas and didn't feel left out as a result.
I did jab 13 yesterday and the suppression is back so I feel like I can easily now get back on track.

LumionaMoonsplash · 30/12/2024 10:00

I have a private instagram account (no followers) for WL pictures. It's basically a private pictoral blog of my weight loss from my biggest to now. I'd take a picture at every stone and half stone boundary. It's been really interesting to see the difference and where I hold my weight. My boobs have shrunk and my hips were huge.

JustKeepsBreathing · 30/12/2024 10:26

So after falling off the wagon on Christmas Day, I’m relieved that I have actually lost 1lb 😅
But I’ve decided to titrate up again as 2.5 is too low and I’ve been pretty much managing on will power alone

Took my 12th dose today. Increased to 3.75 mg. 🤞🏼
Total weight loss now 2 stone and 4 lbs in 11 weeks.

SW 15 stone 1 lb
CW 12 stone 11 lbs
GW 10 stone 3 lbs

Some amazing losses from everyone here 👏🏼

hopeishere · 30/12/2024 10:43

Well I've started again at 2.5 but I've not weighed myself as I know I'll have gained weight.

My observations from missing a dose (and a bit) are my mood improved - the flat feeling has gone. Not looking forward to that coming back. Appetite and a bit of food noise came back. Realised I need to work on long term eating and improving my diet overall.

littleburn · 30/12/2024 11:37

@Losingthetimber @TheOtherSide21 I'll be joining you tomorrow with my first 10mg injection then! I've not had anything more than mild side-effects to date so, alongside getting hungrier towards the end of 4 jabs, I take that as a sign I'm tolerating MJ well and haven't hit my optimum dose yet.

Had my official weigh in today (do it every 2/3 weeks) and I'm down 1lb, which I'm pleased with. Have had some treats and my step count has fallen off a cliff the last week so can't complain!

Height: 5'2"
SW: 12st 2lb
CW: 10st 10lb
GW: 9 st 7lb

My experience of my mood and general mental health is the complete opposite on MJ - I am feeling much happier and clearer headed. I've had a hellish time over Christmas - mum is down badly with shingles, dog is ill, we're managing on one car with a horse and two kids between us as mine has downed tools and garages / parts not easy to get at this time of year so I've missed loads of booked lessons etc. with the horse and therefore I've lost loads of money... and I've coped. Very pragmatic. Where as before I'd have been off the edge.
