Ah 13th October was also my day 1 and have also lost 31pounds so far!

Very impressive doing running- I've not managed anything that energetic yet! I'm not sure I ever could run, even in my distant slim youth!

But know what you mean re feeling the weight loss. I feel so light now and it's easy walking up a couple of flights of stairs. Before this I was struggling even with that!

Whoah! 31 lbs is amazing!

Hang on, just worked out what 2 stone 3 lbs is in lbs and that's also 31! 🤣 Well done to both of us!

You should have said "what injections?". Then said "thanks for telling you and will have to look into it as they seem a really good idea, as obesity has many dangerous health related conditions."

I can't believe how many judgemental people there are.

I have told a few people, and now colleagues I have not seen for a while are noticing. When they ask "what have you been doing" and I can't be arsed I just say "oh a few things, but calorie deficit mainly". That's actually true LOL

Hi all, need a bit of advice. Ever since the Christmas period (last week or so) where I've eaten more because of Christmas etc, I've noticed my food noise has been more prominent. I injected 7.5mg Thursday and for some reason my appetite isn't suppressed? It's only ever since I've eaten slightly more (or over) what I normally eat. Is this normal? I'm worried it's not working anymore. It's my last week on 7.5mg before I go up. Prior to this I've not had any issues with food noise. I'm really worried it's no longer working for me?

Don't worry, I am exactly the same on 7.5, when I reflect back the food noise and suppression is just not there as much as the start of 5mg (5mg suppression wore off after jab 3) I can't remember who it was on here but soneone kindly explained to me that it's not the fact it's not working anymore, but purely our bodies adapting as we lose (it was explained much better than that though and made total sense) I am taking my bonus dose on Saturday and my 10mg is ordered

Mrsmajeeka · 01/01/2025 08:12

Well I spent NYE with my head down the toilet after doing 3.75 yesterday. Went out for dinner but couldn’t eat barely anything as I felt so full and nauseous despite only eating an apple all day. Had the runs too. Does this mean that I won’t be able to move up as I had the same last week and it knocked me about for 3 days. I had no side effects at all on 2.5 or the first 3.75 jab, this is my third higher dose. Thinking I’ll have to go back to 2.5 next week and if I’m ill again I won’t be able to continue as it’s unbearable.

igivein · 01/01/2025 08:26

Happy New Year!!!!!!

Today isn’t an official weigh-in day for me, but I stood on the scales this morning, because, well traditionally New Year’s Day is my day for standing on the scales and being depressed - and it said 16st 12lb, which means I’ve broken the 17st marker which I’d set myself as a mini target in the last few weeks.
I know where I’m at now is still heavier than most of you were when you thought ‘God I’m a complete heifer I really need to get a grip on this’, but this is the happiest I’ve been with my weight on New Years Day for many many years.
So for me, and I hope for you too it really is a Happy New Year 🥳

igivein · 01/01/2025 08:28

Sorry you’re having a rotten time @Mrsmajeeka , I hope it settles soon.

lapuf · 01/01/2025 08:54

Happy new year all
Sorry you're struggling @Mrsmajeeka Sad poor you
I was able to eat a decent amount at a vegetarian dinner party (feast) yesterday but didn't overdo it. Small movement on the scales this morning but probably dehydration from the booze Xmas Blush
I've got two 5mg pens in the fridge and will order one more today, hoping that stockpile will be sufficient for the last stone and starting to maintain!
Here's to meeting our goals this year and moving to maintenance successfully.

Oh how terrible, if it were me I would go back to 2.5mg for a while. One of the US health podcasts I listen to said they think the MJ doses we are advised to take can be too high and cause unnecessary side effects. Smaller doses are much more common over there as due to the MJ pen shortage they had pharmacists were allowed to produce it themselves and not restricted to the minimum dose they could prescribe.
If I followed the MJ guidance to increase by 2.5mg per month I would be ordering a 10mg pen next whereas I can only just tolerate 3.75mg.
I think we have to listen to our own bodies as it is clearly not one size fits all.
Hope you feel better soon.

Mrsmajeeka · 01/01/2025 11:32

Thanks all, I’m feeling ok today so hopefully the initial sickness has passed. Will try going back to 2.5 next week and hopefully that will be ok. I’m 30lb down and half way to target so don’t want to stop yet but obviously will if it’s not going to agree with me going forward.

terracottacountryfarm · 01/01/2025 11:44

@Gilly1C Hi Gilly, so glad someone else has experienced it! I thought I'd just been an absolute 🐷 this Christmas. But the suppression just hasn't been as strong at all. I've also ordered my 10 and doing my bonus dose tomorrow. Finger crossed the suppressions comes back for us!

recklessgran · 01/01/2025 11:49

@Mrsmajeeka I completely sympathise! I'm still on 2.5mgs due to not being able to tolerate the side effects on higher doses. I'm tolerating it well now but my losses are slow and very small compared to others on here who have dropped stones. I'm happy though - I now have minimal suppression at this dose but most of the food noise has gone which means I'm no longer binging or eating junk and finding it relatively easy to stay on the weight loss wagon. I'm going to do one more 2.5mg ahead of my holiday this weekend and when I get back will try 3.00mgs and see how that goes.I'm really using MJ as a tool to maintain a sensible eating regime I guess rather than expecting massive losses. I'm older though and have a medicated underactive thyroid and able to accept the cost in the longer term.

terracottacountryfarm · 01/01/2025 11:51

Morning all and happy new year!

Weigh in for me today and I'm pleasantly surprised...

SW: 11st 8
CW: 10st 1
GW: 8st 10

Total loss so far: 1st 7

I have somehow only gained 1ib over Xmas. Honestly, how I do not know. I was expecting 5/6ibs considering I'm so short too.
I've felt so so bloated the past couple of days though, with all the rubbish food and alcohol I've consumed I don't feel as empty as I have done and I'm really looking forward to getting back into a routine with progressive weight loss.

MellyCakes · 01/01/2025 12:18

Happy new year all.

Had a surprising 3lb loss at today’s weigh in, gave calorie cycling a go over Christmas so not sure if that helped or just a coincidence - I’ll take it either way though.

My mum and her opinions is coming to stay tomorrow, I haven’t seen her since September and I’m down 49lbs since then. She doesn’t know I’m on MJ but has been a very vocal naysayer about anything WLI related, so will have to dig deep to find my inner calm 🤪

Mrsmajeeka · 01/01/2025 12:31

@recklessgran thank you, I think that’s it, I’d be happy just to keep the snacking at bay and lose slowly going forward, I am more than happy to have shifted over 2 stone in 12 weeks as it would have felt impossible without the help. I was just hoping I wouldn’t have to be on it for too long to get to where I’d want to be but I feel more optimistic about maintaining a slow loss.

I had a similar really bad time on 5mg - extreme nausea, the runs and feeling faint. I went back to 2.5 and I’m now back at 3.75. So I recommend you try the same. I’m going to try to increase dose again at some point. I just think I need a longer run up to it.

TheAmazingShrinkingWoman · 01/01/2025 18:02

Hi All, well done on the amazing work.

SW 16 stone 5.9lb
CW 13 stone 11.8lb
GW 10 stone 7lb
Total loss now 2 stone 8.1lb

And because it makes me smile, that is the equivalent of 65 packets of butter.

I had a lovely Christmas, ate out loads (took leftovers home where possible) and had everything I wanted but in tiny quantities

The most incredible NSV happened today. I did ParkRun. It's the first time that I've run for about 5 years and although I did run/walk (heavy on the walk), I completed 5k. It was freezing and pouring with rain and it felt fabulous. I have changed shape so much that when my daughter came to meet me (she finished ages before me), she didn't recognise me! Sports bra was easy to do up as well!

MissSmith80 · 01/01/2025 19:48

Happy New Year to you all.
I decided to go for 5mg again (having taken 5 2 weeks ago, felt awful so dropped back to 3.75 for Xmas week). Won't do that again in a hurry - same again, extreme nausea, dodgy stomach and the exhaustion was overwhelming.
I can't believe that at 3.75 I get no side effects whatsoever and a mere 15 clicks more I feel so awful.
It's all learning I suppose and like others, I am 2 stone down in 12 week (unimaginable when I started) and so if the next (and final) stone takes a bit longer; that's fine by me.

Thanks @Mrsmajeeka for your posts today - through describing your symptoms you've helped me realise that we have to do this at our own pace .

Missreginafalange · 01/01/2025 20:36

sorry you’ve been having a rough time @Mrsmajeeka hope it eases soon

well done on the weight losses @terracottacountryfarm @MellyCakes @TheAmazingShrinkingWoman and @igivein breaking those stone marks we haven’t seen in a while certain help keep in mind why we are doing this!

I took my jab yesterday and have been on 5 mg for 6 weeks and have been doing stomach exclusively but after having very little suppression the last two weeks and sneaking on quite a bit of chocolate and snacks over Christmas I decided to inject in to my arm and crikey it’s back full throttle have not wanted to eat all day but just made myself eat some pasta and sauce that and could only manage a couple of mouthfuls, now forcing down a protein shake to get some calories and nutrients

TheChosenTwo · 01/01/2025 21:08

Been a bit absent from this thread for a week or so, jabbed a day early and moved up to 7.5mg. Had a 2 stone loss just before Christmas in 8 weeks of MJ and feeling better than ever. Wore a lovely dress last night and didn’t dread the photos although I’m still not where I want to be! But I can see so much progress. I’ve been on holiday since Friday and honestly haven’t struggled with eating less and drinking hardly anything for a change and because we are such a massive group of people no one has noticed which is a win for me!
I forgot to weigh last week as we were rushing to get away so I’ll weigh on Saturday and it will be a 2 week weigh in. Not nervous, if it’s a gain I’ll be fine about it as I’ve had a couple of drinks this week but in terms of food I haven’t been tempted by anything. I’m having a lovely time away although I’m so looking forward to getting back to my normality on Friday!

Losingthetimber · 02/01/2025 14:32

hope everyone had a lovely new year. I managed to behave and eat healthy but some alcohol was consumed, quite a lot of Prosecco and vodka, but didn’t go too mad, will see the situation tomorrow/sat when I weigh, but we were drinking 30/31/1st.even though I moderated myself, it adds up, over long days and evenings.

two couples didn’t recognise me, friends of friends, both of whomI have met several times before. One asked my friend who is that woman”, and then came over and politely apologised for staring at me blankly when I said hello and said they hadn’t recognised me. They didn’t mention weight,,,,but it’s clearly that as nothing else has changed. which makes me wonder what the heck they saw before when they looked at me. Like I was just the fat bird kind of thing. Sigh.i think it’s my face rather than body, as all the puffiness and basically fat has gone from it. But the not recognised surprised me.

my closest friends mentioned id lost a lot of weight, as id expect, and were lovely, but no one else mentioned it, again as id expect. Unless folks know they don’t like to say anything.

overall I’d say a successful trip away and hopefully the scales are forgiving..

Gilly1C · 02/01/2025 15:11

@terracottacountryfarm Please let me know how you get on with the next dose. I am taking bonus dose on Saturday then onto 10 next week. I know everyone is different but someone I know said 10 was the magic dose for her and she still on it 3 months later

TwinklesToes · 02/01/2025 16:16

I’ve bought a new bathroom scales and they weigh 2 pounds heavier than my old ones (I’ve passed the old ones onto a friend) This is going to mess up my weight loss journey. Has this happened to anyone else?

ChaosDream · 02/01/2025 18:07

Just a wee NSV - I bought jeans today in the sale and they fit! With room! Size 18 but the first jeans I've worn for about four years. Also got a new gym top, my old ones were 3XL - my new ones are XL.

Delighted 🤩

My two scales weighed the same but there was a difference when using on hard floor to carpet. The hard floor is most accurate but for a while i was measuring via carpet which was 3kg lighter 🙈😫 at the end of the day, fat loss is what you are after, 2lbs is not even a kg

My old bathroom scale gives slightly different measurements if it’s on the carpet or the floor and sometimes, diff areas in the same room so I used to weigh on a spot. That used to piss me off so I gave it to my mum and bought a Renpho that someone was talking about on one of the oct earlier threads and it’s been accurate but my first measurement was 1lb heavier than the other scale but since that’s what I’ll be using, it didn’t matter, I just followed its measurements.
Lots of lovely NSV’s on this thread, they’re always lovely to read
