Thanks for the new thread, was on the earlier ones so checking back in.
Started mid October and still on 2.5mg 🙂

hopeishere · 27/12/2024 13:37

Checking in. Have fallen off the wagon - messed up my ordering so have skipped a week and a bit. Starting again on Monday (or maybe tomorrow) will have to go back down to 2.5 for two weeks I think.

Hey everyone, hope you're had a lovely Christmas! I had a bit of a digital detox, but back for thread 6. Gained 0.8lb over Christmas, but jabbed today and hoping for a more normal week. Enjoyed those roasts and cookies a bit toooo much oops!!

I didn't really want to tell anyone I'm on MJ. But a few people accidentally found out because I stupidly left my injection box out. Mother in law was a right moody so and so about it!! Felt very judged 🙈

YummyCookie · 27/12/2024 14:19

Thanks for the new thread. Week 12 weigh day for me today and after a slow week last week, I’ve lost 2.5lb this week (33.3lb total). Very pleased for over Christmas. Due my next 7.5mg jab tomorrow. I jabbed a day early last week but only did 6.25mg. Not sure yet which I will do this week. I’ve still not decided on where to get my next pen. I have a new one in the fridge so no rush, but don’t want to leave a big gap between that and my last one incase I have problems with the new supplier.

'Have you been taking those stupid injections' was what me and DP were greeted with as we walked into MIL's on Christmas Eve! The last time we saw her was a few weeks after starting so the weight loss wasn't noticeable but it obviously is now for both of us. We brushed it off and just said we've cut down booze, takeaways etc because it's just not something we are willing to tell her, the whole village would know within 20 minutes.

I would have told her to mind her own and it has nothing to do with her but I don’t think my MIL would have dared said anything about ‘stupid injections’ to me.

You should have said "what injections?". Then said "thanks for telling you and will have to look into it as they seem a really good idea, as obesity has many dangerous health related conditions."

I can't believe how many judgemental people there are.

Checking in for new thread. Jab day tomorrow then weigh on Sunday, I’ve had a lovely Christmas. I’ve enjoyed some scrumptious treats but I’ve not pigged out anything like I normally would, so I’ve got my fingers crossed I’ve not done too much damage 🤞

I dread that, I saw friends a month ago and seeing them for new years, and I’m worried everyone will start to suspect.

If anyone says anything, think I’m going to go mock outrage,, “ffs my bmi wasn’t over 40” sort of thing, as many folks think uou need that.

also work from home, and saw my work colleagues beginning of Oct when I started, so when I see them in a couple of weeks, they are going to be a little surprised.

femininomenon · 27/12/2024 18:17

@Losingthetimber yes it's something I've not been looking forward to but we had prepared ourselves and a breezy answer as she constantly comments on other peoples weight, she didn't say anything else after that and didn't mention it again but I'm sure she will as we continue to lose weight! It is horrible how judgemental people can be, there is a reason we have only seen her once since the start of October...

femininomenon · 27/12/2024 18:17

@Bluenose1966 great response haha! I've learnt to treat her a bit like a toddler though and just pick my battles and this wasn't one of them!

Searchingforthelight · 27/12/2024 18:25

I started in October
It must be the first Christmas in the last decade that I didn't overdo it and feel guilty ridden in the lead up to NY

Really interesting to read everyone's experiences as others notice the change especially if when haven't seen someone for a while.

I have had a few people who I hadn't seen since I started in October comment on the change, and I've just said it. Then again I find it hard to stay quiet about anything!!

Hope everyone 's weigh ins go well. I am weighing on Sunday but don't anticipate much change, I was very controlled for the big days and have mostly lived on smoked salmon and prawns otherwise?

surreygirl1987 · 27/12/2024 19:51

Okay so I seem to have put on 3 pounds in the last couple of days 🙈 Lots of overindulgence. But I'm back on it now and know I can persevere. Last year I'm sure my christmas indulgence lasted a month - this year just two days, so definitely progress!

lapuf · 27/12/2024 20:17

Checking in!
I'm down to 10st 7 so exactly a stone to go to target weight.
I've had my parents staying for Christmas so have been eating a bit more to not let on Blush

That’s defo my biggest NSV to date…. I had 2 days ‘off’ but I was sensible, never really drank but the biggest victory for me is getting right to my normal diet that I had up to the lead up Xmas and today Iv been good with food.

I'm similar just done 7mg, last Saturday did 6mg as didn't want to jump up to 7.5mg but the 6mg only suppressed me for 3 days 🙈 the rest of the week has been will power including Xmas day when I had only 1000 calories as I left most of it to end of day for my big meal and dessert

My mum said she was glad I was feeling better after a stone loss and that I looked healthier and I used to be breathless. Only concern about the injections were about cost and safety and how often I do it, she was fine with weekly, theyve been used long term in diabetes and its halved my food shopping..lol

femininomenon · 27/12/2024 21:26

@Mysticmaiden2024 yes my own mum has been very supportive, like yours was just worried about safety but is really happy for me now she is seeing the benefits it's having Smile.
