Is anyone else getting dizzy?

Iv had it for the last couple of weeks or so... its mostly when I go from sitting to standing quickly or when I kneel down to get stuff out the washing machine or look in the fridge (under counter)... When I stand back up I'm getting dizzy/lightheaded and I need to steady myself by holding on to something for a few seconds.

TheChosenTwo · 14/02/2025 15:07

@Fizzleawayyy1 I’ve had that when suppression was strong and I wasn’t getting enough calories in a few weeks ago when I moved up to 7.5. It passed, I presumed it was light headedness due to low blood pressure and it has gone away now my appetite has increased and I’m eating plenty.

I'm sure I'm eating enough, I don't really calorie count properly but Maybe I'm not...

I added up todays calories and at the moment I'm at around 600 so by the time I have my food tonight that should be high enough.

I'm guessing it is something to do with low blood pressure or sugar levels.

Losingthetimber · 14/02/2025 16:49

@Fizzleawayyy1 , in my case it is low blood sugar, I keep glucose sweets handy and pop one or two and it resolves it very quickly.

UtterlyQuackers · 14/02/2025 17:00

I've hit another plateau on 10mg.

So frustrating. This morning I was like "what's the point" after a week of practically no scale movement.

Before I would have eaten what ever I liked. Luckily the suppression is there. So I just had a grump and went off to work! 🤣🤣

Yes! It started a little before my Diabetes 2 annual check up.

the good news is:

My blood pressure is now too low - I did have quite high BP and took two daily tablets for it. I now need to reduce/stop the dosage. Dizziness is a symptom.

My blood sugar is now too low (rather than spikes and high DB2) and I now have gone into remission - I take 1000mg (slow release) each day. It is being reduced to 500mg. Dizziness is a symptom.

All sorts of other good things, but those two are the dizzy ones. It might be worth checking BP for 4 days a.m and p.m using a cheap machine from the pharmacy (or sometimes doctors surgeries or pharmacies have walk-in pods. You would need a blood test for diabetes.

Not sure if you have any medical issues - my hope is to get rid of most of mine and actually come off all medication except Mounjaro.

Yes I’m getting dizzy a lot when standing up. I can’t decide whether is it low blood sugar or low blood pressure but it passes after a couple of seconds. I’m leaning towards the low blood pressure as I have tested it and it was low. Or it could be a mix of both!

YummyCookie · 14/02/2025 20:15

Are many of you on here diabetic? My mum has type 2 and is quite overweight, has high blood pressure, high cholesterol, lymphoedema and arthritis amongst other things. She’s just had her bloods etc done for her review, and we are going to ask about it for her. She’s currently on Humulin quickpen and metformin, does the mounjaro replace the existing medications, or is it used along side it? I’m wondering if they won’t prescribe it how it would work if we got it privately.

EVK · 15/02/2025 08:15

Sorry to hear how poorly some of you have been feeling. Definitely always a good idea to seek medical advice if you’re at all worried about any symptoms. Also, if you have a break and then start again, consider your starting dose carefully- going back onto your previous dose after a break might be too high. Again - seek advice.

I tried to use my bonus dose yesterday before shooting off to work ( so not much time) The hard twist started working then stopped so I got a small amount, Then I tried to use insulin needle but couldn’t draw up the fluid!! How are you all doing that?!! I stuck the needle through the rubber but it was useless!! Anyway- I’m now going to start a new 5mg pen and not sure how much to use!! Was thinking maybe 50 clicks as I did get a little from old pen?!!! Any advice?
I’m a pound down this morning (that’s taken two weeks to lose) I’m crawling to the finish line 🤣
Not moaning though as I feel the best I’ve felt about my weight in years.
SW: 11.7lbs
CW: 9.2
GW: 8.10 ish? ( for some leeway) I am short - just shy of 5ft 2

Im so worried about regaining weight when I come off but can’t stay on this too much longer. I’m just not a long term medication person (not unless I was told it was critical to my survival! It’s because I believe - my own paranoia if you like- there will be long term effects which I don’t want to risk) and also I can’t justify the expense long term - I have to find a way to do this myself eventually!! I know it’s going to be a challenge though - MJ has made weight loss so simple for me. Like many of you I’ve done so many diets over the years and I’ve been up and down the scales ! Never have I reached the weight I found myself at last year though. Menopause and prior to that illness (breast cancer) really made the weight pile on (or rather my resulting life style and mental state did !) I always had a binge mentality- all or nothing type approach and with that a highly critical mindset when it comes to myself which has resulted in restriction and then opening the floodgates - f’ it mentality- followed by self depreciation and restriction - round and round! That’s the cycle I’ve broken with the help of MJ - The freedom
from mental anguish about myself is liberating. I just hope I can maintain the positive momentum when I stop using MJ’s support 😅! I can’t go back to where I was - that’s my biggest fear.
Good luck to all you lovely ladies out there and happy weekend 🩷

Morning all, happy Saturday,,,

19th Weigh in, start of week 20. Another 1,6lbs down, taking me to 11.8,9. Stayiing on 10 mg, and injected into my thigh again. 1stone 2 to goal/23 bmi basically.

@EVK some people pull the plunger down a little before putting it in the pen, then pulling it down to withdraw, I prefer to just put it in then pulling it down and withdraw,

what happened are you saying the needle went in, you pulled the plunger down and no liquid was drawn into the syringe?

Yes - no liquid pulled into the syringe! Or only a tiny amount ?

I’m on week 20 today too - see we started at the same time 👍

lapuf · 15/02/2025 09:16

Ahh EVK it's hard being early adopters! In a year or two so much more will be known about maintenance as us trailblazers and the even earlier ones will be sharing our experiences!

lapuf · 15/02/2025 09:17

Ps this was the video I used
I felt like such a pro Grin

lapuf · 15/02/2025 09:22

Some NSVs for me yesterday, I got in some very old size 12 jeans which are more like an 11 and they looked fab. I wore with a vest and a Zara medium suit jacket that I couldn't get over my chunky arms a few months ago. I felt really stylish!
Also I had to take a selfie headshot for work as none of my photos were appropriate (all had kids or horses or wine in!) and I didn't hate it, I normally look odd in selfies Hmm

Less of a NSV, I booked in for a PT strength session and I am so bloody weak in certain areas. I was in denial about it and thought my horsey lugging things around would have been enough for muscle building but turns out I don't lift things above my head or do single leg bridges (etc...) when I'm mucking out! Wish I'd started in October but next best time is today.

Losingthetimber · 15/02/2025 09:33

@EVK , yes try again with a different needle. Maybe it was a faulty one?

im also a little unsure about maintenance, but I guess in a different way, I will stay on, but getting my cal intake right to maintain I think will be a challenge, as will which dose..

it will be a balancing act, I want to reduce my dosage and eat a little more, but I can feel a temptation to not stop at 10.7 (I’m 5ft 7) but go to 10 stone. I also don’t want to regain. I guess I need to decide when I get there. I certainly don’t want to go below 10. And I don’t want to look thin. But strong and healthy. However maybe 10.7 doesn’t give me leeway, although I’m not sure I need it. Maybe I’m scared of reducing.

I think we all need to find that balance when we get there, however we chose to maintain, and it will be trial and error.

i certainly don’t want to continue like I am when a healthy weight, I want to enjoy alcohol again when socialising. And be able to enjoy meals out, or occasional take aways, it feels a little uncertain to me, but I’m sure we will all find the path that works for us,

lapuf · 15/02/2025 10:15

Losing I'm the same but with the nines (as small build/small boobs! I had three Proseccos and a large decent red wine last night and retched several times this morning! I can see how it works on booze aversion (which I evidently overrode!)

TheChosenTwo · 15/02/2025 10:58

Im at the 16 week mark and after a good few weeks of losing a pound or a pound and a half (which I’ve always been happy with) I lost almost 6lbs this week. Bit out of the blue and kind of strange considering I was cursing the 7.5mgs because I had reordered and almost instantly my food noise came back. While I’ve made sensible choices on the whole I’ve also eaten more than I have in ages this week, went out for a meal and had a stab at 3 courses (wouldn’t have done this if I wasn’t out for a meal with a friend), had a kitkat the other day (haven’t had anything like that, snacky from the cupboard, since before MJ), haven’t done much exercise this week and definitely drank less water than I should have been. So it was quite a surprise.

Bluenose1966 · 15/02/2025 12:47

Morning all, hope those who haven’t felt great are on the mend.Like After a couple of weeks of hardly any loss I officially lost 2lb on my weekly weigh yesterday so only 2lb away from my goal weight of 9st 7lb. Though not quite as much as the @TheChosenTwo but on my daily unofficial weigh in today I had lost another 2lb. So 4lb in 8 days. Saying that I am leaving 9 days between jabs this week as have a family party tonight I don’t want to risk being ill for.

To celebrate my “unofficial” reaching of goal I am posting some photos to remind me of my October 2024 12st 2lb body compared to now. Trying to dress more trendy, dress, top and skirt from Vinted.

EVK · 15/02/2025 12:56

@lapuf and @Losingthetimber thanks for responses and video. I’ll try that again next time. The needle did actually look a bit bent so maybe it was a dud!

i definitely need to up my muscle building and I’m trying to get the the gym twice a week and do Pilates to achieve this.
I was the same
last week with alcohol- went out with some friends and had an Irish coffee, followed by maybe two small glasses of wine at the cinema. Couldn’t drink any more and at the pub
later I had to move onto ginger ale🤣😅 felt sicky that night but was ok! That was my first drink since having a couple on NYE! I’m glad about the alcohol reduction though as I was getting far too familiar with cracking open a bottle of wine come Friday and working my through it by Saturday evening and then opening another !! I’m sure it’s been the key to my weight loss as it was fuelling my weekend food binges !

Hopefully we will still have this chat and the support of everyone when we begin our maintenance as you say is early adopters must stick together. I’m now feeling, why can’t we buck the early data and manage to do this once we reach goal. It’s the data that’s giving me doubts which is silly ! I’m not a number 🤣I can do this 🙌🏻😅

Losingthetimber · 15/02/2025 13:00

@Bluenose1966 , wow you look fab, what a difference!

TwinklesToes · 15/02/2025 13:43

Started MJ on 14 October 2024.
Weigh day
SW: 13.12
CW: 10.9
GW: 10.7 ish
Very happy, went into M&S yesterday and bought new panties because mine were falling down 🤣🤣🤣

KnewYearKnewMe · 15/02/2025 13:50

@EVK

I use the bonus dose all the time.

I hold the original pen upside down, stick the insulin needle up into the little pink rubber, and pull down the plunger on the insulin syringe to the amount I want.

Did it not work for you? Did you try it with a second insulin syringe in case the first was faulty?
