I got back from hols on Thursday night. Has put on 3lb but it has come off again.
I really enjoyed my holiday and decided to take jab the day I left, and a slightly lesser dose. Jabbed on Fri when I got back as usual. Food wise I did enjoy it but I didn’t go crazy. I did drink more than usual though.
I haven’t felt brilliant this week- have had some lower abdominal pain/cramp feeling. Can’t decide if I am constipated or if I have trapped wind or something.

Has anyone else noticed that they are bruising more easily? I've just noticed my legs and arms are covered in bruises and I don't remember injuring myself at all. I suspect maybe some vitamin deficiency with the lower calorie intake.

Yes, I have noticed this in the last week or so, on my legs. I was wondering what it was about. Going to try making sure I take my vitamins, I'm not eating that much atm as the tiger dose is really kicking in. I will also try some protein drinks with added vitamins I think when I can't stomach much.

Itisallgoingtobeok · 28/07/2025 13:04

I really need some new clothes. I’m 3 and a half stone down, and was hoping to hang on until I had lost the final 2 and half stone but, my clothes are hanging off me and I look really scruffy. Problem is, I really don’t know how to dress myself now. Wondering about a John Lewis personal styling session. Anyone done this? Also any instagram account or similar you follow to give me some ideas? Thanks!

Mosmam · 28/07/2025 13:18

I had a John Lewis Personal styling appointment. It was great. Really helped me recognise how I need to dress now I’m 5 stone lighter! I felt no pressure to buy (but did go with a budget in mind). I’ve had so many comments on how stylish I am since the appointment. The stylist was incredibly kind and patient with all my weight insecurities. Also worked really well with some clothes I already had or was able to buy on vinted.

Itisallgoingtobeok · 28/07/2025 14:48

Thanks @MosmamI think I’ll give JL a try. I don’t want to go to mad as with another couple of stone to go I will likely change shape/size some more.

Thank you. I think I’m going to see the doctor and get a blood test as I’m sure I must be deficient in something or other. I’ve generally been feeling a bit rubbish over the past few weeks. I’ve been ridiculously tired and just feeling a bit meh about everything. Also a bit of low level nausea which I’ve had on and off but never really bothered me, just feels like it is always present at the moment.

I’ve always been quite open to staying on MJ for as long as I think I need it, but for the first time I’m wondering if it might be approaching the time to stop. I have another couple of pens so will see those out at least, but definitely thinking about going it alone after that. I’m just under a normal BMI so ideally would go a little lower with my weight, but I’m happy with how I look so would be satisfied enough if I stayed at this weight.

sylv165 · 30/07/2025 11:55

Weigh day for me today and I have now lost all of my holiday weight plus another 1lb. 3lbs to go until my goal weight, hoping to reach 8st 7lbs by the end of September.

Interesting as I have been feeling the same physically and going through the same thoughts about stopping / weaning off the meds. I'm not quite at a healthy weight yet.

I'm thinking of reducing my dose as struggling to eat much this week (on quite a high dose)

I notice now some of the pharmacies will let you start again if you want to without having to be a higher weight so this could be a plan I wonder.

Let me know how you get on. Best wishes

20bloodypounds · 31/07/2025 09:55

I had 2 complete weeks off (was away for my birthday and didn't want to risk feeling nauseous). I really noticed that I was feeling hungry by the end of the time, I guess that is something I will have to get used to again when I stop MJ completely. But for the moment I'm back on 2.5mg for a month, then planning to spread the doses out a bit for the next month and see how I feel. My BMI is in the normal range now, but ideally I'd like to get to 8st7lb (snap! @sylv165 ) which is about 7lbs away.

ILoveLeopard245 · 01/08/2025 07:01

I have lost the wee bit of holiday gain I had last week and back to the weight I was before I went away.
I can’t believe how much easier and enjoyable it was being on holiday in a ‘normal’ sized body. When I was away last year -with 6.5 stone more of me- everything was harder. Fitting in the aeroplane firstly. Also just walking to get a drink etc. I managed to do that just wearing my swimwear and didn’t even give it a thought, whereas last year I covered up with shorts, top etc and no way would I have felt comfortable walking round in my swimwear. I had no chaffing this year, and did all the water slides- even went parasailing and snorkelling which I wouldn’t have managed last year. Even putting on sun cream was easier. It really showed me how much living in a larger body impacted things- it was always there in the background limiting me in some way.
Would like to lose about 7-10lbs more. I’m currently at my original goal, and I’m delighted about that, but I feel I am not quite finished yet.

Orangesandlemons77 · 01/08/2025 09:37

I also noticed the no chaffing yesterday for the first time. I wore a new long skirt, and I used to have to wear these 'chub rub' shorts under skirts but managed without them and it was fine.

Small things but they do make a difference to your life. I also remember I used to be quite breathless just from things like climbing the stairs and that is all gone. Also the snoring! It's all so much better.

doodleschnoodle · 01/08/2025 09:42

So nice to read about the benefits people are discovering. I am the same, I don’t think I’d really realised how much the extra weight was affecting me until it was gone.

I am still maintaining off MJ, fluctuating between 125-128lbs. I’ve gone up a couple of pounds last week or so but I’ve started getting more serious about exercise and strength training and have started taking creatine, which can lead to water retention, so it’s probably that. I weigh every morning, the control freak in me. It does mean that minor fluctuations are more obvious but on the flip side I’m used to the ebbs and flows so I don’t panic.

MetabolismLost · 01/08/2025 10:27

Haven’t been on here for a while, but I’ve now reached my goal weight of 11 stone (am 5ft 8) . Have actually gone a few pounds under - but not intentionally. As of the next pen, I’m going to start slowly dropping down the doses and see how I get on. As you all say, everything is just that bit easier. I’m comfortably in size 12 clothing, feet don’t hurt at the end of a work day, I just feel so much happier within myself!

Itisallgoingtobeok · 03/08/2025 06:36

Weigh in day for me and another pound off after a difficult work week where my eating went off. Some days didn’t eat at all, then over ate because I was hungry. I go up to 7.5mg this week so am hoping for minimal side effects.

How is everyone else doing?

I'm nearly under the next stone. 4 stone 4lbs off in total, I am now able to walk more and that really helps with weight loss and health. Lost about 60lbs, 20lbs to go. That's amazing.

I am finding it hard. I'm still carry a lot of weight around my middle, I've lost weight off my legs and arms. I haven't lost any off my chest. It looks massive and I feel very self conscious. I now fit into a lovely dress for a wedding in a month. My ds took a picture, I look ridiculous.

NSV, I noticed my work pass picture and could really notice a difference with how I look. I cannot day to day.

Whereisthewine · 06/08/2025 19:33

I've had a break of 1.5mnths, went on holiday for two weeks and gained 5lbs, so disappointed in myself. Took first 5mg on Sunday but can't stop eating, really hope the appetite starts to dwindle soon

20bloodypounds · 07/08/2025 22:18

@Whereisthewine did you have 1.5 months (6 weeks?) without MJ? And did you manage to maintain you weight? If so that is good. You know what you have to do and how/what you have to eat

Then you went on holiday. If you look at it, what happened on holiday? Was it sugar (ice cream, sweet drinks), alcohol, fried food (ahhh those breakfasts...) or a bit of everything?

You are in the hardest part now - switching off from the cycle of wanting carbs.sugar and eating carbs / sugar.

It reads like you've now taken a 5mg MJ injection. That will work (although I'd have ony taken 2.5mg agter a break). You will re-establish your 'not-hungry' state.

sylv165 · 13/08/2025 08:13

Another 1lb down…now just 1lb away from my target! Oddly, having had a break for holiday seems to have kickstarted weight loss again after months of STS or losing only miniscule amounts. Feels so strange to be almost there. Never in my wildest dreams did think I would achieve this!!

20bloodypounds · 13/08/2025 18:46

@sylv165 I think maintaining is the hard bit to learn - there is none of the dopamine hit of another loss on the scales, it is just life as normal...

sylv165 · 13/08/2025 22:13

Definitely @20bloodypoundsand I still don’t feel like I understand what maintenance eating looks like for me. I’m short, just under 5ft, and have been eating around 1000cals or less and for months I was barely losing anything- checked my stats and I’ve lost 6lbs in the past 90 days, and 3 of those have been in the past couple of weeks. The thought of a lifetime of 1000cals just to stay steady is a little depressing! My plan is to stay on a low dose for 3-4 months just to try and work out what it will take to maintain and then stop and see how it goes for another 3 months.

In a separate bite I have been going to a personal trainer for the past 4 or 5 weeks and I have really noticed a difference in my body. I have been feeling a bit like a deflated balloon, but really focusing on a bit of weight training and building some muscle has been great. I’ve been exercising at home but wasn’t really progressing. I realise now that I needed to lift MUCH heavier weights!

20bloodypounds · 13/08/2025 22:59

@sylv165 I get you. I'm only 5'2'' so about 1250 cals to keep me steady. I really hate the standard advice given on menus or by the NHS that it is 2000 daily calories for a woman. Really they have to change that. It is just not true for many of us.

Plus it is irritating that as we lose weight our TDEE goes down. To stay the same weight as I was previously, 1500 calories. Now 1250. But that is the reality of my body. And I'm learning ways to make it work for me. A whole cinnamon bun is 46% of my daily calories. There is no bun in the world that is worth that. I have come to accept that I eat only a half - or if I can persuade dh, he gives me one quarter of his.

I eat from a smaller plate, I plan to eat half a chicken kyev (and plan for the other half tomorrow), if I'm out for dinner I have a starter instead of a main.

Bumblebeehum · 15/08/2025 08:44

Morning, did anyone else have a sleepless night after getting an email from their provider saying prices are going up to £330 per pen?!

I’ve still some way to go and was planning on another year (of getting to target and then tapering off), but that’s not going to be possible now! Am hoping to stock up a bit to see me through to the end of the year, but then I’ll have to stop (or change?) so gutted!
