I get where you are coming from @InfoSecInTheCity.

I felt a lot of judgement when I put on weight. Those people commenting now is basically them remarking how big they thought I was before. They are right, I was. I don't comment on their health, body shape or lifestyle choices.

I especaily do not like people mentioning it when I'm in a group or in work. That feels wholly inappropriate. I have said "I'm not taking on feedback about that, let's change the subject".

I have told two people, my husband and my close friend. I have no regrets and don't feel obliged or guilty about not mentioning taking WLI. It was actually my OH that asked why I would need to talk to people about medication, it's none of their business. He is 100% right.

EBoo80 · 26/05/2025 13:55

I have also not told many people, and there are some groups of acquaintances in which I am pretty sure people have been speculating about whether I used WLIs. There is no prescription drug where that would be appropriate, and honestly I look at those people differently now.
the answer I give is just “all very boring I’m afraid - I’m eating less and moving more”. That is true, and is all anyone needs to know. I’m not brave enough to say ‘I will not discuss my body with you” although I wish I was!

EBoo80 · 26/05/2025 13:58

PS one jab left and then I’m going to try a longer period with no MJ. I’ve maintained fine while titrating down (still losing in fact, although very slowly), and have done 2 pens at a 9 day gap. am going to try it for June and see how I go. Feeling pretty positive - I’ve reflected a lot on drivers for my excessive eating, and have shifted some of my habits and tastes a lot.

doodleschnoodle · 26/05/2025 14:52

Some amazing progress here, well done everyone! I love checking in and seeing those pounds keep coming off.

So I’ve been on maintenance for around two months, which originally started as 1.75 dose but I’ve just stopped altogether now as I kept forgetting to take it and then when I looked at Shotsy it was barely in my system anyway.

My original goal weight was 135lbs from 203. I’m at 128.4 right now, I’ve lost about another 5lbs since starting maintenance but seem to be slowing down/evening out at 128-131lbs with day to day fluctuations. I’m happy to stay here, it’s 22 BMI exactly for me, so that feels like a nice place to be, a size 8-10 on bottom and a 6-8 on top.

I’ve been hungrier but not massively so and because I now eat so well, eating till I’m full is working fine. I’ve added in some exercise classes too, and am enjoying that kind of structured stuff more than I thought I would.

I am on the flex plan with Oushk so can reintroduce medication if I need, but I’m hoping I can do without. Throughout my MJ journey I had some digestive issues, nothing major, but it’s nice to be totally free of those and my bowel movements have returned to normal!

EBoo80 · 27/05/2025 08:48

Brilliant @doodleschnoodle - that sounds ideal.

those of you not yet in maintenance must say if us maintainers on the thread gets annoying. I’m still really happy to check in here and see how everyone is doing.

Bumblebeehum · 27/05/2025 08:53

not annoying at all @EBoo80, we’ll get there eventually and it’s useful to know how we might handle dose and prescription!

I especially loved @doodleschnoodletalk of sizes as I’ve got my eye on a v expensive skirt and was wondering what size I’ll eventually be (no point buying it yet!)

sylv165 · 27/05/2025 09:38

@EBoo80definitely keep talking to us about maintenance! I’m only a pound or two away from a normal BMI so I really need to look into maintenance, I’ve just been a bit lazy. I booked a call then couldn’t work out how to get on to it, and haven’t yet booked another 🤦‍♀️😂. It is actually really nice to get some positive and truthful stories of maintenance. I’ve read a few threads that talk about maintenance and it seems to veer from people gaining it all back right away, to people who find it totally fine and never give in to temptation. I imagine the truth is somewhere in the middle!

LittleBitAlexa · 27/05/2025 09:57

I’m now at a healthy bmi 10 stone 10. Ideally would like to lose another 7 pounds but I feel pretty comfortable where I am and am no longer really losing much week on week. Does anyone find that some pens are more effective than others?! (Rationally I know it is other factors).

Bumblebeehum · 27/05/2025 12:11

i have definitely thought that @LittleBitAlexamy supplier is a bit rubbish at packaging the pens and more than once have arrived warm, I wonder if that affects the efficacy? My current pen is working great, probably too well but the previous one was awful, no suppression at all!

Itisallgoingtobeok · 27/05/2025 14:04

Those who are now maintaining please do stick around, I love hearing how you are doing!

My third plateau seems to have passed and the weight is moving again. I had a funny Teams call this morning with someone I hadn’t seen for about six months. His words were “you look fit!” then tried to say it in a way that didn’t sound so funny. He looked mortified.

20bloodypounds · 27/05/2025 15:29

Is BMI of 25 'healthy'? or do I still have another tiny bit to go?

Anyway, I'm getting there slowly. Heads up for anyone with Oushk, I just booked my maintenance call and the first available time was 1st July. I'm fine with that as I still have a bit to lose to get into a comfortable zone, but still...

I'm thinking I will follow the 'taper' track, reducing down to 2.5mg, and then spreading out the doses until I feel confident that I can do it on my own.

OvaHere · 27/05/2025 16:12

I'm still in maintenance since about end of March I think - so around 2 months now. I went cold turkey so no maintenance dose.

I've stayed within 3lbs of my finishing weight (10st) which fluctuates up and down. I'm okay with that as long as it doesn't creep up further. I've had a few weekends away, meals out in that time and find as long as I go back to sensible amounts post event then a bit of indulgence hasn't affected me longer term.

I have had an increase in appetite and the amount I can eat but not massively. I've got more energy again and my strength is back which was sapped a lot on MJ. I'm finding the gym easier again and am able to lift more.

Not sure whether it's due to suddenly eating a bit more but I do feel like I have a few residual stomach issues - notably a still slower digestion and feeling very gassy after some meals which is a bit uncomfortable at times. It's sporadic though.

Not confident enough yet to say I've cracked this. I will need to see where I am in 6 months then a years time. I am very much looking forward to going on holiday this year as I know I will be so much more comfortable in the heat and look a lot better.

MandarinDentistTiger · 27/05/2025 17:43

@EBoo80

I find it helpful to have something ready for when I want to establish a boundary. I don't owe anyone a discussion or explanation.

"I appreciate you noticing, but I'm not really comfortable talking about my body - positive or negative"

"I'm not comfortable" then silence.

ILoveLeopard245 · 27/05/2025 20:13

Hi I’m still here and chipping away. I’m at 10 stone 12 now which is about 6 stone loss.
id like to get to about 10.4.
weight loss is pretty slow right now but I am planning to just keep on at it.
went up to 15mg this week and not been feeling quite right, so just seeing how that goes xx

20bloodypounds · 27/05/2025 21:18

@ILoveLeopard245 that is an amazing loss. However you look, and whatever clothes fit you (or don't) your body must be so much healthier than it wa this time last year. Well done. KOKO.

ILoveLeopard245 · 27/05/2025 21:23

@20bloodypounds thanks so much- yes I feel absolutely miles better physically and mentally. It is hard to realise that I am not still living in a bigger body and I don’t really know what size clothing I should be wearing and I’m trying to revamp my clothes/shop my old wardrobe!

sylv165 · 28/05/2025 08:11

@ILoveLeopard245I know that feeling! Having bought some new clothes I am forever holding things up and thinking there is no chance this will fit, and being shocked when it does.

I have finally put some batteries in my scales and thankfully have lost 2 of the 3lbs I had put on last week. I wonder if it was just a dodgy reading as the batteries were dying.

SpottyBumPony · 28/05/2025 08:58

Amazing progress from everybody!!

I'm still here. I haven't been very consistent with my jabs, I forget and then it ends up being 10-14 days in-between. I've eaten more, and some old habits of comfort eating have raised their head. I've ordered a new pen this morning and I'm going to move up to 5mg (I'm still taking 3.75mg atm) and try to be consistent.

Life wise ... I'm carrying on. One day at a time as they say. DS was being very difficult but hopefully we're finding a new rhythm and can settle down a bit. I'm none the wiser on money, bills and the house. I'm waiting for insurance payments before I can deal with those decisions

20bloodypounds · 28/05/2025 18:13

@SpottyBumPony finding your new rhythm will take time, but you'll get there, make sure you and ds take every bit of support offered to you. You don;t have to be heroic.

I'm another weakling who's still on a 5mg pen, and I dropped back this week as I'd missed a half week while on holiday. Will creep up again next week and finally back to the full 5 mg the week after.

Well done for the losses and starting to find a groove @SpottyBumPony. Checking back in after a long time lurking.

Starting weight 99kg, BMI 39.9
Current weight 79.5kg - 3 whole stone off!! Delighted.

InfoSecInTheCity · 02/06/2025 05:58

Starting weight - 217.5 lbs - 15 st and 7.5 lbs - BMI 33.1
Current weight - 147.9 lbs - 10 st and 7.9 lbs - BMI 22.5
Total loss - 69.6 lbs
Loss this week - 1.1 lbs
Goal weight - 141 lbs

7lbs left to hit my ultimate goal weight.

Bumblebeehum · 02/06/2025 08:21

Glad to see you still here @SpottyBumPony and so close @InfoSecInTheCity, do you do the self-sabotage thing that I do each time I’m near a goal?

I’m absolutely delighted with my singular pound this week as it’s been non-existent all week and surprised me this morning.

It takes me to a whopping 5 stone loss!!

When I started this I didn’t accept how BIG my problem was, and thought I just needed to drop 3 stones (‘just’ 😳). Now I’m chasing another 30lbs off to get me into a normal BMI, something unthinkable in September last year.

SpottyBumPony · 02/06/2025 09:04

Amazing @InfoSecInTheCity . You're so close, that's nit much more than a big 💩 😄😄😄😄

sylv165 · 02/06/2025 15:19

Well done @InfoSecInTheCity, and @Bumblebeehum5 stone! That is phenomenal! Glad to hear you are still sticking with it @SpottyBumPony.

I think my 3lb gain may have been a blip as the scales were running out of battery, as I’m now back to where I was and have lost 1lb this week. My weight now starts with an 8 😮
