Weigh day for me and I’m up 0.5lbs. Not too bothered as I think this is just how it is going to be now - bobbing up and down a little bit with a very sloooow downward trajectory. I’ve finally adjusted to 6mg and have a bit more appetite, so going to use that to increase the intensity of my exercise as I’ve been struggling with energy levels over the past couple of weeks

20bloodypounds · 11/06/2025 14:31

@Tipster100 I'm with Oushk. Changed to them because of their flexibility on maintenance. I have a call with them in a couple of weeks. I've never got beyond 5mg, so I think I'll finish my current pen, spread the doses out a bit wider for the next 5mg pen, then reduce to a 2.5mg pen. Then that'll probably be me.

I hope that my better eating habits will be ingrained. I use a smaller plate for my meals; I deliberately plan to eat less (yesterday we had chicken Kyiv and I cut mine in half and saved half for lunch today); I only buy snacks that dh loves and I hate (horrid tasting crisps etc) so I'm not tempted to snack between mealas, and I have learnt to say 'no thanks' to cake. Actually I realised that I only ever enjoy the first mouthful of cake anyway, so if I'm out with dh for coffee I have to persuade him to give me one small mouthful of whatever he has.

It's so good to see the achievements of everyone, it really is impressive when you think about it. I wonder how much we have collectively lost?

I am a slow looser, but I'm finding that this has helped me understand where things can go wrong and learn tools to manage potential pit falls. I am half a pound away from being halfway to target.

I feel I should have a little celerbration (not cake!) for reaching halfway. A practical thing would be to go and buy some new trousers for work as the ones I have are dangerously close to falling down if I move too quickly! I think I might want something indulgent too. Any ideas? What have you guys done to celebrate milestones along the way?

SpottyBumPony · 12/06/2025 08:31

I've had a whoosh now that I'm back in a regular routine of injections. 0.9kg off this week, wooo

Lazygardener · 16/06/2025 14:16

Just back from holiday and I expected to gain, but actually lost 1 & 3/4 lbs (had to get on the scales twice to check), bringing my loss since September to 50 lbs. Another 19 to go, but feeling motivated!

I'm about to arrange an Indian head massage to celebrate 50 lbs loss.

Bumblebeehum · 16/06/2025 14:30

Celebration always has to be new clothes that fit!

No Loss for me this week (again), have struggled with a few binges on salty snacks for the past few weeks - my disordered eating is never very far away. Whilst I’m a long way from target, I do plan to stay on MJ for as long as possible!

20bloodypounds · 17/06/2025 20:46

It's really good that we are finding non-food ways of celebrating. For too many years it was a celebratory cake or wine.

sylv165 · 18/06/2025 00:10

I did a brave thing this week. One of my kids was invited to a swimming pool birthday party. She is autistic and can get a bit overwhelmed by the echoey noises at the pool so I had to go in with her. This time last year I would have felt so crap having to wear a swimming costume in front of all the school parents that I’d have made an excuse not to go, then stayed at home feeling guilty that my daughter was missing out because of me and my insecurities. This year I went to the pool, wore the costume and we both had a lovely time! So happy that my weight isn’t standing in the way of me having fun with my kids now 😊

EBoo80 · 18/06/2025 09:34

That’s one of the nicest NSVs I’ve heard @sylv165 . Well done you!

sylv165 · 19/06/2025 16:51

Thanks @EBoo80it felt like such an achievement!

20bloodypounds · 19/06/2025 22:40

@sylv165 how fantastic! For you and your dd. None of us have perfect bodies (even after MJ) you are setting a great example for your dd by joining in and being OK with yourself, just as you are.

Itisallgoingtobeok · 22/06/2025 07:21

I have just weighed in and I am 2lbs down this week which takes me below a BMI of 30 (just!). I need to start thinking about a maintenance provider soon, as I am with Boots and they don't do it.

On the NSV front I wore a pair of shorts yesterday which is the first time in years. I didn't feel self conscious or worry that people would laugh.

@sylv165 I think that is one of the best weightless wins I have ever heard! How wonderful of you and your DD!

sylv165 · 25/06/2025 09:21

1lb down this week! I’m averaging about 2lbs per month at this point but happy that the trend is still downwards. Currently 8st 12lbs, aiming to get to 8st 7lbs before moving to maintenance so getting there slowly. Less than 2 weeks now until I go on holiday so very aware that I will likely gain when I’m away. I’m going to try and have a good couple of weeks beforehand so I have a bit more of a buffer 🤞

EBoo80 · 25/06/2025 13:07

Just back from walk to the corner shop and pondering about the difference off MJ. I’m maintaining comfortably (fluctuating around 2lb a month) and there hasn’t been crazy voracious hunger that I was worried about.

But one of my bad habits used to be buying a doughnut from the shop a couple of times a week, and then it just never crossed my mind on MJ. I looked at them and they held no appeal. Now, on my walk over I was contemplating one as a treat. I didn’t, but it really drove home what a big difference the meds made to my tastes. Alcohol and junk food just looked really unappealing.

I’m mostly holding onto my good habits, but it is definitely back to normal with my urges to eat crap. I hoped maybe they would just be gone now I’m a healthy weight…

in other news - feeling very puzzled about maintenance calories. My fitness pal says 2500 which is crazy talk! I was losing steadily on about 1400 I reckon.

To lose you eat a deficit of around 500 so to maintain you will roughly need to add 500. Chances are you ate less than you HAD to and would have lost on a few more calories, but I’d probably target 2000 and weigh regularly to see what happens.

I have been losing very slowly on 300 calories less than TDEE, but I'm short and slight, and close to goal now, so 500 less than TDEE would have been far too little, I think.

Near to goal I'm experimenting. I'm going up an average of 200 calories. I don't want to do the full 300, because I'm determined not to demoralise myself in early maintenance by putting weight back on. I'll se how that goes. And maybe it leave me wiggle room for a donut once a month!

EBoo80 · 26/06/2025 07:54

Helpful to hear different calorie goals, thanks all. I’m strapping (if I do say so myself) and 5”8, so maybe around 2000 is reasonable to maintain.
I was ill for last couple of weeks so all my good exercise habits have been impossible. Astounded to find that I am now someone who misses exercise when I can’t do it…

InfoSecInTheCity · 26/06/2025 08:28

I’m 5ft 8 too @EBoo80currently 145lb (down from 218lb), eating around 1600 cals a day and still slowly losing at about 0.5-1lb a week which I’m good with, I’m in the middle of the healthy BMI range so have some flex on either side and don’t look gaunt, there is still flab on belly and tops of arms so my focus has been on upping my use of the hand weights at home and trying to build some muscle.

InfoSecInTheCity · 30/06/2025 05:21

Weekly weigh in
Starting weight - 217.5 lbs - 15 st and 7.5 lbs - BMI 33.1
Current weight - 144.9 lbs - 10 st and 4.9 lbs - BMI 22
Loss this week - 1.4 lbs
Total loss - 72.6 lbs
Goal weight - 141 lbs
Left to Lose - 3.9 lbs

20bloodypounds · 30/06/2025 22:37

BMI 23 and I've got my maintenance call with OUshk tomorrow..

Bumblebeehum · 01/07/2025 08:47

Morning all, I’m still here. We’ve had a difficult family time for the past couple of months which sent me back into comfort eating and I put on 3lbs. 1 of which is still stubbornly showing on the scales. I’m more in control now, and have the option of jumping up a dose if I need to, but prefer to keep it low if I can manage.

20bloodypounds · 01/07/2025 23:12

@Bumblebeehum imo one of the great things about MJ is that when real life events happen, we can still keep close to what we should be doing, it's just not possible to stuff our faces with all the things / drink all the things...

I know 3lbs felt bad but I wonder what might have happened prior to being on MJ. If it was me, it would be many, many more pounds than that during a sstressful couple of months!

sylv165 · 02/07/2025 08:30

Totally agree @20bloodypounds. Weight gain is always frustrating but I think that one of the big differences of being on MJ is that you can be fairly certain it will come off again. I’m off on holiday on Monday and won’t jab before I go, so I’m pretty sure a week in an all inclusive will result in a few lbs gain. But I’ll relax, enjoy myself then get straight back to it when I get home.

I’ve STS this week, been trying to give it a final push before holiday by really counting calories and exercising but I think I am just at the point where I am not going to lose much more. Currently 8st 11 at 5ft, BMI of 24. Would ideally like to be 8st 7lbs but if it doesn’t happen I can live with that.

ILoveLeopard245 · 02/07/2025 22:31

@sylv165 going on hol in two weeks and think I might slip a dose- not because I’m wanting to over eat, but I’m not wanting to experience side effects on the plane/on hol. Have you missed a dose before? I’m tying myself in knots worrying bout it.
I’m 5’5” and down to 10stone 6, would like to get to 9.12 but if I don’t, I don’t x
