Wee pre Christmas check in for me. Jabbed and weighed this morning, and I’m under 12 stone finally (and for first time since i was 17). BMI is a frustrating 25.2 (so close!) but I’m very happy.
That’s a very unexpected 4lb loss in a week. There seems to be a real pattern for me of staying the same weight for 3 weeks and then having a fairly big loss in week 4. Spotting that is really helpful.
thinking of you @doodleschnoodle and hoping you’re on the mend!

Seldomseenkid · 22/12/2024 09:34

Good morning all. I lost 2 pounds this week which takes me into a new stone category and 7 pounds from a healthy bmi. Today I’ll jab my normal amount of just over 2.5 and plan to see the next week through with modest portions of the festive food on offer. I’ll be picking up my next pen and I was hoping it would be my last but looking back over my weight loss, it has been slow and steady for the last 8 weeks so we shall see. Financially I can only keep this up for a couple more months whatever happens.

Wishing you all a peaceful week ahead!

85reasons · 22/12/2024 09:47

Morning all - some great pre-Christmas successes here.. I've also had a sudden mini-whoosh after what's felt like snails-pace progress recently. I wanted to be under 170lb before Christmas and today am 170.4lb so fingers crossed I'll get there.

Having been on 7.5mg for the past 5 weeks I did slightly increase to 8.3mg for Friday's jab from a new 10mg pen and the suppression is markedly stronger. I don't really want to go up to 10mg itself but couldn't resist buying the 10mg from IQ Doctor due to the price - will see how this new dose goes and maybe stick with that!

Have to say I have a fridge full of Christmassy food and not sure how much of it I'm going to want to eat 😵‍💫

Doggymummar · 22/12/2024 10:08

I know what you mean, I've had the Ocado and Tesco delivery today and I'm sitting here feeling nauseous just thinking about it. Luckily my other half can eat very well for someone weighing about ten stone and very little if what we have is fresh so I'm hoping there won't be too much waste. Im looking forward to a cut up apple with cheese on. So weird.

jupiterhigh · 22/12/2024 18:06

Hey everyone wondering if anyone has any advice or similar experience? today is jab day. Last Sunday I took my first dose of 10mg, and I felt the extra suppression and also felt that my digestive system was much slower. On Wednesday i came down with the flu, the whole house has it, DD has been vomiting but she is the only one.
I have lots of new symptoms which could be the increased dose, but equally the illness such as heartburn, burps, nausea.
I don't not want to jab, but feel like it's stupid to add more to the mix. I am struggling to eat and lost 7lb last week.

Doggymummar · 22/12/2024 18:32

Wow 7lb doesn't sound healthy, if you are not well I guess it's feasible though. It's up to you what you do, but I stick to the manufacturers guidance. I am on week three of 10mg and Lose half to one pound a week usually. I have eaten a little more since I finished up work for Christmas last week but intend to jab as usual on Wednesday.

I know it's far too much in a week. I am eating, but really struggling. I have been really strict about having three meals a day because snacking is where all my issues lie, but maybe I need to got more smaller more often, for a few days.

I'm the same on 10mg, I am thinking of takin half this coming week (30 clicks) and seeing how that goes. I was doing this twice weekly but it is too much and struggling to eat at all. I think it might be a good idea to reduce the dose.

mimosa1 · 22/12/2024 19:45

Hi everyone,
I've had a wish as well - always seems to be the case from me when I up a dose. Am frustratingly close to as "normal " bmi - a couple of kilos to go. I'm also thinking of when to stop - I'm still balding and feeling really self conscious about it. I do want to lose more to have a buffer iyswim. Wishing all the posters feeling poorly a swift recovery!

I understand about the hair loss. I had a weave last January as it was significant. Is that something you could consider. I had to do it quick before I lost too much for it to be a possibility, there are also some great hair toppers as well depending on the loss pattern.

Bumblebeehum · 23/12/2024 10:25

Check in day, loss of 2lbs as usual (had been hoping for 3 to get me to 3 stone - that'll have to wait till new year now).

It's also Jab day but I've decided to delay until Wednesday/Thursday so I can enjoy a small amount of festivity. If I lose control I'll jab straight away, hoping that I can just maintain this week.

Weighing in a day early as there is no way the kids will be letting me sneak off tomorrow morning to do it lol. Glad to say I am 2lbs down after a 3 week stall.

I am now exactly half way towards my goal weight. Feels like I still have a long way to go, but it does feel possible.

I had planned to have a half dose on my usual jab day yesterday, then the second half on Thursday or Friday, but I just decided to go for it as usual. Regretting that decision somewhat as I really don’t feel great today and have managed 3 grapes for breakfast before feeling full. I am having lots of family members round for drinks tonight and am not going to be able to drink anything, which will be very obvious to those that know me! I’m going to need my husband on board to help me get away with nursing a single glass all night!

ginnybag · 24/12/2024 10:17

Sneaky mid-week weigh in today ahead of Christmas, in the middle of week 15, and I seem to have broken a little bit of a stall I've been in, because I've dropped 1.5lbs since I last weighed.

That means I've more than hit my Christmas target.

6th Sept 225.7lbs
24th Dec 181.7lbs

Dead on 44lbs lost in 15.5 weeks, taking me (just) into the 12's, and past the lowest recorded weight I have.

(12 13.7 counts, right? :-) )

I'm wearing a frock today I bought over a decade ago, and it's slightly too loose. I've had to replace my underwear because it was literally falling down. I'm tipping into 4 dress sizes smaller than I was.

I'm very short, so I'm realistically only halfway through what I need to lose to hit a 'healthy' BMI, but I can see how I get there now.

Justasmallgless · 24/12/2024 10:26

Completely missed the last thread but jumping back in.
SW 16 stone
CW 13 stone 7
GW 12 stone

35 lbs / 2.5 stone gone.

I won't lie the side effects have been pretty awful for me in terms of nausea , like being pregnant again.
However small price to pay for being healthy and am back at gym 3-4 times a week too.

Not sure what to wear tomorrow but I'm overjoyed that I've got a choice!

FlatStanley50 · 24/12/2024 11:03

My BMI has just hit 25 so very very close to a healthy BMI. I did 45 clicks on my 7.5mg open yesterday, couldn’t eat my dinner but am hoping I will be ok for tomorrow. I’ll take the rest on Thursday. It’s my birthday next Tuesday and we are going out for afternoon tea so I may delay jabbing until after that next week- a couple of days late should be ok shouldn’t it?

sylv165 · 24/12/2024 11:07

Oh I almost forgot I have a NSV. I was out with friends on Sunday night and for the first time in ages I actually GOT IN THE PHOTOS!! I didn't even try to hide behind anyone, and nor was I absolutely horrified by what I saw. Now to make sure I get plenty of photos with my kids this Christmas, as I have virtually none of us together from the past couple of years

SpiderMother · 24/12/2024 11:07

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas. Thank you for your support over the last few months. I'm thrilled to be a healthy weight, it's the best Christmas present I could have given myself. 38lbs down since 30 August. About another 10 to go, 2025 resolution is going to be keeping it off.

doodleschnoodle · 24/12/2024 11:27

Merry Christmas, everyone! It's been fantastic to be on this journey with you all, and here's to a slimmer 2025!

I'm back to normal after my hospital fun, and have dropped another 2lbs. I've jabbed a day early this week as I tend to get some unpleasant gastric effects in the 48 hours after a jab and wanted to get them out of the way before Christmas Day.

Be great to make the 50lbs lost mark by turn of the year - I'm currently 46 down. But there's a fridge full of delicious food looking at me Xmas Grin so if I just maintain over the festive period I am happy enough.

Doggymummar · 24/12/2024 11:34

After last years adventures I will be happy to stay the same or gain less than 3lb. Mind you my oh is eating a bounty and ferrero rocher for breakfast so I'll need willpower of steel.

SpottyBumPony · 24/12/2024 11:52

Week 17, I had a break from the gym for a few days over my period but am back at it again now. I also had some 'cravings' for chocolate/sweet stuff but ate responsibly. It led me to muse on cravings, I think it's the first time I've experienced what 'normals' call cravings - normally I'm just hungry and always want chocolate etc. I didn't have cravings when I was pregnant, but I certainly overate.
I'm sticking to my normal dose and routine for Christmas. I'll have Christmas dinner but then won't go overboard on crap afterwards. I've got chocolate covered nuts and am planning to stuff dates with pistachio then cover in dark chocolate. I'm also making sausage rolls so they will be UPF free/whole food.
I've lost the same as a small bale of hay - I have a horse so will get a progress picture of me holding a bale.

Itisallgoingtobeok · 24/12/2024 11:56

I'm about to move up to 5mg and am a bit nervous about side effects. Thinking about doing a halfway house. How do you work out how many clicks it is for a lower dose?

Merry Christmas all!

Bumblebeehum · 24/12/2024 12:04

@Itisallgoingtobeok 60 clicks is a full dose, 30 clicks is 2.5mg so you can choose anywhere in between to get you used to the higher dose.

(I moved up gradually as it was working well, I didn’t want to get the side-effects, I’ve stuck to 40 clicks for 6 weeks now and happy with that for the time being)

That is a LOT if you’re eating three meals a day - I wonder if you’ve ’let go’ of some inflammation ie maybe some water retention has been eliminated too? I think that’s what happens in the first week or two as it’s kind of impossible to lose 7lb of fat in a week.. perhaps you’ve gone ‘next level’ on a healing journey or something??
