Oops. I don't know how to edit but I think I got the charts the wrong way round when I described them

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/11/2024 23:17

@ChunkyMunky I'm under my calories by 188/288c a day

With what I usually eat

I would struggle with under a 1000

But can cope on 1100/1200 easily

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/11/2024 23:23

Thanks @Azuresky68 for info

I did try the whey. Not 100% sure of it

Whizzed it in my blender and came frothy like a milkshake and had to pour into 2 glasses as so much

And like milkshake to drink when. Had some sips

Maybe 5mins later it had settled into a juice drink and went down in volume

Its not unpleasant but think prefer water or squash but obv doesn't have the protein in it so will try and have one a day to boost protein

Maybe I just need to stir powder into water rather then whizz and froth it

Azuresky68 · 06/11/2024 23:32

@Blondeshavemorefun probably just give it a good shake if you have a shaker? I couldn't get all the lumps to go, so tried mixing with a bit of warm water....awful! I keep a glass bottle of tap water in my fridge, but don't like water or squash so found it hard to get my liquids so I started mixing 3/4 plain water with about 1/4 of low cal flavoured water from Aldi or Lidl eg blackberry and apple. I can actually drink that more easily.

20bloodypounds · 07/11/2024 00:21

I just love water! Nothing sweet in it, nothing extra, just icy cold - from the tap - soft delicious Scottish water.

ChunkyMunky · 07/11/2024 07:49

After pushing to hit 800 calories yesterday, I spent last night back and forth to the bathroom with cramps and the diarrhoea. Part of me is ready to stop, and say that this is not sustainable. But another part is worried that I’ve still got so much to lose, and if I can’t do it this way, when everything else has already failed, then I’ll just be stuck in obesity forever.

I’ve only had half a dose out of a new 5mg pen, so stopping now would feel wasteful too. I’m really torn. I don’t want to give up, but maybe I should.

This certainly isn’t the straight forward easy option that people might presume it is.

owlyboo · 07/11/2024 07:56

@ChunkyMunky that's sounds like a really tough decision. I think only you can make it. I really feel for you though! Must be so frustrating!

Azuresky68 · 07/11/2024 08:01

@ChunkyMunky I hope you feel better soon. Spunds grim. Did you take any meds for the cramps? Side effects can be awful. I didn't like 5 mg at all. Would you consider going to to 7.5? Felt sick and tired on 5 but nothing too bad on 7.5. Going up to 10 in a couple of weeks. For me I see MJ as my only option after years and years of yo yo dieting. Good luck and I hope side effects stop soon.

Paracetamol and loperamide seem to have helped a little, plus a hot water bottle.

I’m only actually on 2.5mg at the moment as I came down from 5mg when the side effects were so strong that I had to take time off work (can’t be doing that every week!).

I wonder if it would work if I had very low cal days on my peak MJ days (Tuesdays / Wednesdays are my highest following a Sunday night jab), but then had a higher level or calories on the other 5 days per week to compensate? Thinking about it, these days do always seem my worst for side effects. Alternatively I go down to 1.25mg and this pen will take about a million years to use up!

Will see how the rest of the week goes, I always feel more pessimistic the morning after a bad night. Feeling a little more swayed towards continuing once I got dressed and realised that my “too tight” jeans now have a good few inches gape at the waist. Honestly, I’m all over the place with indecision.

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/11/2024 09:27

I don't have a shaker - maybe will invest in one

Weird how goes frothy then settles

Ans had some whey on the top

Reminds me of the incy wincy spider Poem 😂

I don't like ice cold water. Make my teeth go

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/11/2024 09:29

@ChunkyMunky sorry suffering so much

What has supplier said?

Morning 🐾
@Blondeshavemorefun i agree with you on your IVF because all the hormones will have your system running riot. That's good you tracked too, I've been lax with tracking and started again this morning.

@ChunkyMunky what programme was it you watched? That's not a lot of calories at all, could you add some mixed nuts and seeds to increase but not feel you're stuffing your body unnecessarily? You sound like me chopping and changing my decisions with this journey, it's not as simple as the non jabbers think at all. I'm also going to have a look at shotsy.

@poppym12 that's brilliant you got out, just be careful and not too much exertion.

@20bloodypounds you can't beat our lush water! I do love a cold glass of water, but I do find at times I'm overloading my stomach.

I've started tracking this morning , again. I've been lax and its typical of me and my personality. I'm all gun ho here we go with a new thing, and 2 days later I've fell by the wayside. With my breakfast and 2 coffees I've had 789 calories, that will be me until dinner unless I have a wee ryvita around 2pm. It sounds a lot but I've attached a pic.

We are having a beach walk this morning, we got married at the spot we are going too and our old girl was there on the day so we are going to scatter her ashes today. I really miss the old coobag!

Have a super dooper day ladies 😊🐾🐾

NippyCrab · 07/11/2024 09:40

I didn't have 6 bananas BTW...

FlappingMadly · 07/11/2024 09:45

@ChunkyMunky oh so frustrating! I feel for you.
I have just one suggestion. When we eat really low calorie our bodies can start reacting and get quite trigger happy. Protein is key. I might have misunderstood the 800 calories but seems that’s all your managing. Could you raise your calories to 1200, which is still low and see how you are after a few days? I get it. I have a lot to lose too. Whatever you decide am rooting for you.

ChunkyMunky · 07/11/2024 10:54

Thanks everyone.

@NippyCrab I watched two in one night, can’t remember name, maybe a Panorana or Dispatches episode. One was about already slim people buying black-market semi-glutide on Tik Tok, which was shocking and terrifying, but not really that relevant. The other might have been something along the lines of ‘Can Weightloss Injections beat the obesity crisis), and was more positive, but did touch on people losing muscle mass etc.

@Blondeshavemorefun I must confess, I’ve not spoken to my prescriber as I’m worried they would stop me from re-ordering.

@FlappingMadly yes that’s all I’m managing. Tend to focus on protein where I can but often opt for bland carbs to combat nausea.

Typical day would be…

  • Breakfast - boiled egg / omelette or plain cereal (bran for fibre usually)
  • Lunch - little bit of chicken or soup, maybe a yoghurt
  • Tea - varies, but generally a bit of veg, protein & carbs. Ok meals I think, but only managing tiny tiny portions.

Nuts are a good suggestion, thank you, as they can be quite high calorie without weighing heavy in the stomach. Will have to try them for breakfast though as we have a nut-free site at work so can’t graze on them during the day.

Need to up my veg I think, looking at it all written down, although that won’t do much for calories.

Thanks everyone, you are all so lovely and non-judgmental. I’d be lost without this thread.

CrazyGoatLady · 07/11/2024 14:45

@ChunkyMunky solidarity. I'm having terrible nausea on 5mg for the first 2-3 days post jag, there's no way I can contemplate moving up a dose.

Ginger tea helps, electrolytes too if you are having the runs. I got some good recommendations for electrolyte tablets on here.

Protein smoothies might be an option if solid food is feeling bleh?

ChunkyMunky · 07/11/2024 15:26

Ooh thanks @CrazyGoatLady I didn’t know electrolytes help with the runs. Which ones do you use? If I can combat that, then everything else is tolerable.

CrazyGoatLady · 07/11/2024 15:51

It's more rehydration/ making sure your replace lost sodium and minerals etc. Sadly doesn't stop it but can help you to feel less yucky while coping with it and avoid dehydration!

CrazyGoatLady · 07/11/2024 15:52

@ChunkyMunky I use FastUp & Reload peach ice tea flavour but they have other flavours too

NippyCrab · 07/11/2024 16:21

@ChunkyMunky there's water you can get called Smart water and I often pick up a bottle from a sandwich fridge instead of normal water and I find that works. I will have a look at those tablets too @CrazyGoatLady the only things I've used are the rehydration sachets for after the runs. Oh @ChunkyMunky you're a wee soul. If you can get a chopped nut mix, sprinkle that over your yoghurt too. Xx

20bloodypounds · 07/11/2024 18:17

I woke up in the night and was almost sick. Had to sit up and could hear my guts gurgling. Really thought I was in for a terrible night but it quietened down. However in that 30 minutes in the wee small hours I was ready to give up MJ for good. So my sympathies to @ChunkyMunky @CrazyGoatLady and others who have been feeling unwell for longer.

I was going to inject today but I still feel 'uneasy' and my stomach feels full. I'm taking my dgd out on Saturday for a special treat so I'll postpone my injection till after that so I can enjoy the day with her.

Scrambled egg and salmon for tea tonight. And lots of water. Couple of prunes too.

ChunkyMunky · 07/11/2024 18:44

Glad it was short lived @20bloodypounds it’s an awful apprehension when you think you’re going to have a rough night though, I think the stress of that makes it worse. Hope you have a lovely time with your dgd.

weaseleyes · 07/11/2024 19:26

@ChunkyMunky maybe you could up your calories a little by tweaking your meals? You could have a boiled egg and some cottage cheese, add some lentils to your soup (also adds more protein) and put some yoghurt in it with some cheese on top. Putting a bit more dairy in, given you eat dairy, lets the calories creep up without too much volume.
