Hi query for you knowledgeable lot. So I stayed with the 1 provider but they have no information about how long I can take mj for/ what BMI etc. I remember someone saying they went with Oushk or something like that. Are they good? Plus if they ask for candid photos, what exactly are they looking for?! Thanks

Hey, I'm with Oushk... I switched to them for the last pen after being with another provider for 3 months - I switched because of their excellent reviews, prices etc but more than that their support - I spoke to the prescribing pharmasist (Hira) on the phone before switching and the time that she spent with me, understanding where I wanted to be on this journey for example, and that they were only a phone call or email away if i ever needed anything meant the world... I would love to achieve my goal weight by next summer so i have a long way to go but knowing that they have maintenance plans also (which we spoke about on the phone at length too) just made sense to me considering all the above factors plus maintenance - i had to send a photo of my last prescription and I keep all my pen boxes in any event so that wasn't a problem, enter current weight and height and a full length in front of the mirror - it was a quick process and you can nominate delivery date which is good too - either through DPD where you are given a pin number and you need to be at home to accept it, with the pin, or Royal Mail and they can leave it in a safe place (no pin) if no-one in; when my pen arrived, it arrived on the date that i wanted it and it was packaged so so well also - ice packs, sheeps wool etc and it was all still extremely cold...

Hope that helps... x

@Blondeshavemorefun welcome to my world!😂

It's a cruel one !

WorriedRelative · 05/11/2024 10:15

FFS period arrived early 😫

That makes me happier about my current weight as I would normally expect a small gain. However this means I will now come on before I get back from my holiday.

Every fecking holiday I end up needing to take period delay tablets, I thought I would just get away with it this time.

owlyboo · 05/11/2024 10:19

@Blondeshavemorefun the word 'severely' seems a little harsh 😮 oh well that's behind you now!

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/11/2024 10:21

Bless you @WorriedRelative I was always 28 days every 4th Fri so could plan but doesn't bother me on holiday. Swim and Tampax

I agree. They are mean @owlyboo 🥲

Changinghabits1973 · 05/11/2024 10:24

Morning all ! Happy Tuesday everyone....

@owlyboo stunning pic as always ! Looks so gorgeous there and hope you have a lovely walk !

Just wanted to say in case it helps anyone who is taking the Clear Protein Whey, I bought the large tub of VIMTO flavour - OMG it's delicious ! Tastes exactly like Vimto cordial; per 26g scoop has 89 calories, 0.7g carbs and 20g protein... you should mix with 400ml of water, but i did 750ml of water and it was still strong tasting; it mixes brilliant as well as I have had some flavours in the variety pack that were taking forever to mix my arms were aching from shaking !! 😂😂 It only seemed seconds for it all to dissolve ...

It was so nice to drink it, a. knowing that it was extra protein and b. made such a nice change from plain water or herbal teas etc...

Hope this helps anyone who may want to try the flavour... x

After nearly 3 weeks of nothing, finally lost 1.5lb this morning. My 7.5mg arrives tomorrow so hoping for continued weight loss again.

@Arraminta well done on loss

What is this Clear Protein Whey, stuff ?

You add to water to drink protein and make a change from usual water?

FlappingMadly · 05/11/2024 13:13

Whoop! @Arraminta 💃💃💃. Well done!

Once again you lot are wise, informative and insightful. @MargoLivebetter I’m sorry that happened to you 🤗

We were a family of feasts. For Christmas, friends, Easter, family visiting, last day before off to school, first day back and on and on.
We are slowly moving to viewing food as fuel and simply making a meal from what we have. Tonight will be roasted beetroot, butter nut and chickpeas on flat bread. Part of that is now being gluten free - I know I keep banging on about it but it has been a big transition - if I haven’t made it we don’t have it, which has made us much more disciplined. There isn’t even a takeaway we can have if we wanted it, apart from chips I suppose.

AuntieDote · 05/11/2024 13:51

Afternoon everyone. Lovely pic @owlyboo

Well done on loss @Arraminta

I seem to have quite good suppression and not too bad side effects wise this week, my first week of 7.5 - hesitant saying that as don't want to tempt fate, but so far so good.

I've lost 2 stone since I started mj now, and have moved from 'obese' to 'overweight' on the BMI calculator (but only just!) It's definitely slowed down the last few weeks of 5mg - I'm trying not to weigh so much or focus on the scales, but I think I only lost a couple of pounds in the last 3 weeks or so, if that really. I also feel 'big' again - I'm quite bloated which doesn't help, but I think the fact I'm still largely in my same clothes (and they're not exactly drowning me!) and that I've been down to this weight a few times in the last few years - before going back up again - is a bit of a psychological barrier for me. I have moments of being pleased with my progress, but then sometimes I still feel like it's all so impossible and still feel very much like a fat person. My face definitely looks slimmer - that I can see. But my body still feels like it always did, even though objectively I know it's not.

However, any loss from now will take me to the lowest I've been since way before I was pregnant with DD (back in 2020). I'm about 3lbs from my weight starting with a '12' - which I don't think I've seen in nearly 10 years. So just got to keep focusing on that!

20bloodypounds · 05/11/2024 15:24

I know you lot like a picture... a few minutes walk from home.

mm81736 · 05/11/2024 16:07

And on we plod!
Has anyone ever scared themselves by thinking of the pound per pound (£/lb) price of MJ? I darent even calculate the 'per stone' price! Oh well, you can't put a price on thr joy of feeling slimmer a d moving more, easily, clothes fitting more comfortably etc!

Changinghabits1973 · 05/11/2024 16:26

I've just had a NSV in the pool.... !!
I went in the steam room for 10 minutes as is usual.. when everyone left there was just me.. so decided to do a bit of stretching etc.. 😀
I can now touch my toes from the upright position to stretch my back !!!! Am happy !!! 😊 weigh day tomorrow but even if I have gained or stayed the same after my binge at the pizza at the weekend this is worth celebrating 🍾 😅 xx

20bloodypounds · 05/11/2024 16:28

yes, yes to messages about food waste. I grew up in the 60s and I had to eat everything on my plate or I wouldn't get any pudding. So there was the triple message of eating things you didn't like, eating even once you were full, and the sweet pudding was a reward. I am glad to see that my dgc get a very different message, they eat until they have had enough, then stop and they always get some fruit offered afterwards.

@Ithinkimrincewind I have just moved to Oushk for this very reason. I really hope that there are no restrictions introduced and that Oushk can provide the range of maintenance plans that they envisage. I sent Oushk photos of how I am now in bra and pants (19 pounds down from where I started), gave them my current weight, plus a photo of my last delivery from my previous provider. I had a video call with their pharmacist (and I looked horrendous and jowly on the call). Their prescrption is arriving next week. Don't know if you have to provide photos with every order.

20bloodypounds · 05/11/2024 16:34

weaseleyes · 04/11/2024 17:29

I genuinely think it is terrible to waste food. Partly it's how I was brought up (grandparents and parents had experienced rationing), but now I think this really strongly for environmental reasons. That said, it's completely true that me eating to excess isn't much better or more virtuous! I've been working really hard not to buy too much, not to let food go off, not to prepare too much or put too much on my plate, and thinking about ways I can freeze or save food I don't want. That way, I'm trying to lean in to the bit of me that doesn't want to waste food without using this as an excuse to eat it as a preventative measure!

I agree re food waste and I'm still struggling with getting our food orders and buying into balance. We get a local organic veg box but I'm now really struggling to use it all. Last week we had left over carrots and turnip (swede if you're in England) and half a lettuce. I make soup, freeze left overs but the freezer is full. I think I'm going to move to a fortnightly delivery. I aslo need to do another 'freezer fortnight' when we only eat from the freezer. December is going to be exciting!

@Arraminta well done on loss

Yes that's right... i used to drink the ready made protein shakes from aldi / lidl / tesco etc but after a few weeks they started to make me feel really bloated so i looked into the clear whey from MyProtein and Amazon and its sits better on my stomach, really does taste nice as well!

NippyCrab · 05/11/2024 17:21

Hey all, l love this pic @owlyboo

Well done on your loss @Arraminta

I don't feel hungry at all today, I forced myself to have breakfast and had an oatcake with philli on it around 3pm. The thought of dinner is making me 🤢

AuntieDote · 05/11/2024 18:10

Urgh, I just had one of the clear whey drinks - the watermelon flavour from the my protein sample
pack - and honestly struggled to keep it down it tasted foul to me, and is all I can taste right now despite having forced my dinner down since - in fairness it did really put me off dinner so I guess it’s good for suppression too 😂

Ive been tempted by the vimto one in the past but then I don’t especially like vimto either - I’m an awkward bugger!

owlyboo · 05/11/2024 18:20

@mm81736 to be fair I think mine works out about £11 a pound and if someone asked me if I wanted to pay just over £150 to lose a stone I'm pretty sure I'd bite their hand off!

@20bloodypounds where's the pic??

@Changinghabits1973 great NSV, good luck for weigh day!

I did (I think my last 7.5 today , with bonus next week... although I thought it was my third but pen looks like it's not.. we shall see next week!!)

Doggo has suddenly started limping on front leg, literally went for a walk a few hours ago and started limping so went home as quickly as possible and she's been resting it since but still limping 😓 so hoping it's nothing but will take her the vets tomorrow if she's not better... why do dogs always get poorly out of vet hours?!

owlyboo · 05/11/2024 18:24

Just to add she doesn't seem in pain, I've squeezed her foot/leg in lots of places to see if there's any areas she seems in pain in/check nothing in there but nothing 🤷‍♀️ and she stood to eat her tea and put weight on it. Any advice (that isn't going to worry the crap out of me before I can get her to a vet tomorrow) please feel free to give it!
