this happened to me with my first pen - I've been using insulin needles ever since, with success.

i’ve kept it in the fridge and will try next week - it will be 35 days but hey ho, i’m happy to risk it!

Had my first night ‘out out’ on Saturday. stuck to three cocktails made with rum and no fizz and did ok! No illness beyond tired and dehydrated!

I am however, a 1.5lb up, but sure it will slip off quick as I didn’t likely go much over maintenance and I definitely haven’t hydrated well!

LoquaciousPineapple · 18/11/2024 18:10

Weirdly, I'm still having new side effects. So the gastric ones started in week 22 (and several weeks into the dose I was on). And now on week 28, I'm having it affect my periods. Ten years (on and off) I've been on the implant with zero periods, and now I'm having one! Hoping it doesn't mean the contraceptive effects are lowered as well 😬 This is truly a weird medication, although luckily the weight loss is still going well so I'll persevere.

Can anyone recommend low calorie ways of getting more protein into your diet. I'm not a big meat eater, do eat eggs a couple of times a week, like Quorn and like tuna (but hate other types of fish).

How is protein powder used? Is it made into shakes? Is it calorie heavy?

I'm doing more exercise now and think I need to up my protein as I'm having very little on an average day

I’ve been recommended myprotein clear protein, which is basically like fruity water, so gets your protein and water up. They do a starter pack to try flavours.

Apart from that, edemame beans, Greek yogurt, eggs, fish, peanuts and peanut butter, chickpeas, peas, beans. All good.

worth maybe trying a few pre mixed protein drinks before investing in the powder. Very like milkshakes. I don’t like sweet but I can deal with ufit vanilla drink.

SqueakyDinosaur · 18/11/2024 20:18

And Longley Farm cottage cheese! I buy it 8 or 12 at a time...

alwaysscared · 18/11/2024 20:20

Can I ask about injection sites?
I have always done my thigh because I read that you get less side effects, however my suppression hasn't been great.
I'm on my 3rd week of 4.5mg and am wondering if to take my next jab in my stomach, but I am so worried about side effects. What are people's experiences of stomach jabs? Especially if they have switched from thigh to stomach?

SqueakyDinosaur · 18/11/2024 20:25

I've always done stomach, so can't advise, but if you feel like you're OK injecting into your stomach, maybe lower it a tiny bit and see how the suppression is - could you do 4 or 4.25? (I'm so glad you've found a way to continue!)

VelociraptorsVelociRapping · 18/11/2024 20:32

@alwaysscared I have found significantly higher suppression from stomach injections, but I’m afraid this did correspond to some bad side effects (diarrhoea and sulphur burps but no vomiting) with a full 12.5mg dose. The following week I counted clicks for just under 10mg, again injected in the stomach, and this is working for me with no side effects.

Darlinghag · 18/11/2024 20:34

Ive only ever done stomach, but my side effects have been fairly minimal since day 1 and i tend to have heavy supression days 1-2 (like could go all day not eating) milder days 3-4, then feeling some hunger but filling quickly the rest of the week!

SqueakyDinosaur · 18/11/2024 20:40

I did a 7.5 jab on Sunday night, and had to give up eating the exact same meal I'd had (restaurant, because away for work) the previous night. It definitely comes & goes, but it's really difficult in a restaurant (especially when you're not paying, because work) to just say no, take it away, I'm done. I realise this is a taboo I was brought up with about not wasting food, but it is still really difficult to counter.

alwaysscared · 18/11/2024 20:42

Thanks for the responses. I think I will try a smaller dose in the stomach, maybe even 3.5mg.
@SqueakyDinosaur thanks, I'm glad I have continued too. 2 stone down so far, in my 11th week now!

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 18/11/2024 23:03

Just checking in. Well done to everyone for their losses.
I’m battling a bit of a digestive issue at the moment but I’ve just had what I suspect was Covid so I am pretty sure they are linked. I’m on a low FODMAP diet to help calm things down and I’ve ordered some probiotics. The one positive is that it has kept the weight loss moving but not in the most ideal way.

alltablenochairs · 19/11/2024 08:39

@alwaysscared I've used both my leg and my stomach now and can't really tell the difference between the 2. For some reason I seem to feel it more in my leg. Whatever side effects I have haven't changed. I only really felt nauseated in week 1/2.

VelociraptorsVelociRapping · 19/11/2024 09:19

Just to say that I am keeping an eye on the post count as we’re approaching 1000 again. I think we’ll need thread 4 (!) in the next few days so I’ll start it once we hit the 990s.

I'm getting my first injection delivered today. I'm about to start my period. Shall I wait till its over to do it or just do it today?

Time4changeagain · 19/11/2024 09:42

@AlhambraQueen
id just do it today, You will be on your period a few times on your journey. Everyone is different but I have pcos and suffer with bad period pain etc and found on MJ they are much lighter, hardly any pain and don’t last as long either.

SilenceInside · 19/11/2024 09:43

@AlhambraQueen I''d just start and do it today. It's got to become part of normal life given that you're going to be taking it for several months.

RobinEllacotStrike · 19/11/2024 12:10

I can't find this Longely Cottage Cheese anywhere!

Where are you all buying it from? I fear I might be in a LCC desert 😬

VelociraptorsVelociRapping · 19/11/2024 12:13

Morrisons or Asda in my part of the Midlands, @RobinEllacotStrike. I was in Tesco last night, who don't stock it, and have had to make do with Graham's. It is not as good.

The farm is in Huddersfield and it's definitely easier to find in the north.

@RobinEllacotStrike I am with you on the arms! 😩 Down dog and press ups and it seems to descend and bulge at the back of my elbows🤦‍♀️

Arglefraster · 19/11/2024 12:30

I only get Longely Cottage Cheese In Sainsburys round here but I eat the full fat tesco cottage cheese quite happily especially now they sell in 600g pots as I go through so much of it !

I've been out to Morrisons where I procured their last 3 tubs of Longley Farm cottage cheese - sadly 2 are "fat free", and I'm about to have a full fat pineapple for lunch. I also picked up a large tub of Polish cottage cheese to try.

I will add Longley CC to my Morrisons list - I only buy selective bits there.

NSV - I wore my SeaSalt waterproof coat for the first time in several years. It was always a bit snug across the bust (I have that kind of bust), but I've not worn it for probably 3 winters as I started to look like a badly stuffed sausage in it. Today, not only was there room in the bust department, the coat fitted me beautifully - even over my jumper. When I caught my reflection in the glass windows of the supermarket I thought I looked pretty good actually, instead of recoilng in horror.

My belt has gone in another notch and my size 18 jeans fit perfectly

BakingNana · 19/11/2024 16:31

I have now lost my baby weight and am back to what I was in my mid twenties, 73kg. Baby is now almost 45 so it's taken a while but I am delighted
