Interesting shopping talk!

I choose to buy clothes as I go because having the non scale victories helps, but also because I feel I don’t look nice in clothes that are too big and I don’t want to ‘wait til i am skinny’ anymore. I am just trying to stick to what I need though, and buying for events as I go, until I get to a size that plateaus. Its interesting how some folks have lost sinilar weights and don’t feel a difference in size. I haven’t even lost two stone on MJ (and 4stone total over 3.5 ish years!) but I have dropped loads of dress sizes. 26-28 at 21stone and anywhere between 16-22 at 16st 13. Maybe its just clothing choices ( i don’t wear leggings/jeggings or things that tend to manage bodies at different sizes or is it to do with loss of visceral versus subcutaneous fat?

i am sure I will even off though, as I shrink a bit more!

6lbs to go to hit target. From a starting weight of 15st 11lb. I can't quite bloody believe it.

That’s a great chart. I would love mine to look like that. Well done @UserNameOfShame 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Arglefraster · 15/11/2024 17:11

Wow @UserNameOfShame that graph is amazing!

Interesting clothes chat - all my clothing decisions will be determined by trying to not let people notice I've lost weight 😆 atm I'm assuming I can take in my tops etc & buy similar trousers... although if I actually do lose half my body weight it's going to be noticeable regardless I suppose!

I did my third jag today & the fatigue hasn't lifted at any point since the first one - I feel like I did in first trimester! Did anyone else find the fatigue lifted as they went on? The thought of feeling this worn out after 8hours sleep for a whole year is off putting ...

alwaysscared · 15/11/2024 17:31

End of week 10, exactly 2 stone off. Just done my third dose of 4.5mg.
My necklace hangs lower and towels now fit around my body, which is great. Other than that I can't really see any difference.

Evenstar · 15/11/2024 17:44

I have taken my first dose of 5mg today, I took the bonus dose out of my 2.5 pen last week so a bit extra, but I have been feeling hungry the last few days. Hoping that 5 will make more of a difference. I have suffered very badly with heartburn which has only settled in the last few days so hoping that isn’t worse again.

I have lost just over 3kg on 2.5, which I know is good as it isn’t intended to be a therapeutic dose, but after 5 weeks it feels disappointing compared to others.

inneedofaglowup · 15/11/2024 19:59

Can I take my dose after 5 days instead of 7?

WeAllHaveWings · 15/11/2024 20:46

inneedofaglowup · 15/11/2024 19:59

Can I take my dose after 5 days instead of 7?

There is a section in the leaflet on how to change injection days and the minimum days to leave between injections, that is for a one off.

If you are considering doing it regularly you should speak to your provider to see what they suggest.

CatTraveler · 15/11/2024 23:35

Joining in the clothing chat - I have a few tops in my wardrobe that fit me, or fit me better now I have lost weight and have just bought my first smaller item..

I also tried vinted for the first time as I needed a couple of pairs of jeans as my existing ones were falling down on me, managed to track down the same style as my current ones, just down a size. Got them and throught they might be on the snug side but they fit fine, less tight than the bigger ones were on me before I started. Perhaps I need to look anoterh size down as well. :-)

I have just finished my second 7.5mg pen (doing the bonus doze) and sticking on this of level next month as well as I am still getting good supression.

Week 19, 7.5mg
SW - 134.7 kg (BMI 49.5)
CW - 117kg (BMI 43)
Total loss 17.7kg (13.14% of SW)
Mini GW - 110kg (BMI 40.4)
Currently 71.66% completed
First GW - 80kg (BMI 29.4)
Currently 32.36% completed

I've recently had the towel wrapping NSV too. Some friends I stay with usually a couple of times a year- this time the towel went all the way round! And I've just been on a plane and had rather more extra seat belt after buckling up than I used to...

Nomorecookiesandcakes · 16/11/2024 07:58

I've not posted for a bit on here.
I'm on 5mg.and going ok , dropped a dress size .
I'm just feeling anxious with the death of that lady ,and now every article seems negative, rather than positive.
It's a lot of money for not a lot of weight loss ,and I'm anxious about pancreatitis.
I know everything comes with some risk .
I suppose I'm having a wobble 😞

So, it's definitely got me out of a plateau!!!! I've posted my weight loss graphs so you can see the change in trend! I've gone from stagnating to dropping 2lb in 12 days. Might even go for a third week in my arm on Monday!

You say it's a lot of money for not much weight loss, but have you been able to successfully lose weight in any other way? If not, then any weight loss you're losing now is surely worth it! And if you have, maybe Mounjaro isn't worth it for you and that's fine too.

I'm losing 1-2lbs a week, which I've always been told is a healthy and reasonable loss from traditional dieting. It seems silly to spend hundreds a month to achieve this when you think of it that way. But the truth is that I've never reliably lost 2lbs a week any other way, so it's pointless to compare. The options for my body are spend on Mounjaro and lose steadily or simply don't lose weight. It's a shame the "lose weight for free the traditional" way isn't an option for me, but no point dwelling on impossibilities!

inneedofaglowup · 16/11/2024 11:04

I ate the most yesterday which without Mounjaro would've have been a normal indulgence day for me but on mounjaro it's bleughh. Today I've woken up with indigestion and the terrible sulphur burps. Ohh I wish I did not have all that food yesterday 😭

fourquenelles · 16/11/2024 11:34

Morning all. Saturday weighiner here. Week 5 and 13 lbs (5.9 kgs) down on 2.5mg.

SW 17st 10 lbs (112.5 kgs)
CW 16st 11 lbs (106.6 kgs)
target - 11 stone 8 lbs (73.5 kgs) Top end of overweight but at my age I'll take face over arse

Age = 69 Height = 5 foot 3 inches Frame = small

All clear on blood pressure so no meds needed for that thank goodness.

Clothes - here's the rub. I have NO idea what my style is. I like peplum tops and steam punky things but atm I live in Tesco jeggings and clearance American jersey tops from TKMaxx. I haven't worn tights for donkey's years and my shoes are for comfort not style! I suppose I'd like to go for the flowy Boho style with cinched waists. It's going to be fun finding out what suits and avoiding the "mutton dressed as lamb" issue later in this journey.

Bibulous · 16/11/2024 11:34

End of week 4. Lost 4lbs in the last week for a total loss of 21lbs. BMI's gone down from 53.6 to 50.7. At this rate I should get below 50 by the end of November which is really encouraging.

I did 4mg this morning. There was 3mg left as a bonus dose in the 2.5mg pen so I used that plus 1mg from the 5mg pen I've just got. I'll see how I get on with this before deciding to go for the full 5mg next week.

I'm feeling really good and positive!

Darlinghag · 16/11/2024 11:45

This week I have lost 1.9lbs! 7.5mg still feels good, with some hunger over days 5-7 but otherwise doing me well!

Tonight is my first test of alcohol in 13 weeks, going to just stick to a couple and see how I feel. I don’t have issues with fizzy though, and I’m day 6 post jab so hopefully it will be fine.

re: the woman who sadly died. I think its very important to consider one’s own risk appetite and be honest with providers about effects you experience, previous medical issues etc, to keep yourself as safe as possible.

Its also worth remembering that things like pancreatitis and gallstones coming from losing weight too fast, not specifically from MJ - so not having too high dose is important!

there is a lot of media hype right now and a lot of misinformation - every medication will have similar risks but it just feels amplified because of popularity!

Excellent results! Thank you for sharing. I’m having good results from my stomach injections having now done two. After a godawful week on 12.5mg injected into the stomach I counted clicks this week for just under 10mg (9.37 to be precise 🤣) and I think I’ve found my sweet spot for decent suppression without side effects. I will finish my 12.5mg pen and then order a 10mg for my next. I have two stone to go until my initial goal and am quite happy for this to be slower now.

@VelociraptorsVelociRapping it's amazing the difference that a site change can make! I'm thinking of taking a tolerance break over Christmas and titrating back up. Weight management aren't happy with this idea but said it's my choice. I still have 6.5 stone to lose to get to a bmi of 25 and they keep discussing gastric bypass which I REALLY don't want so I'll try anything!

Rm2018 · 16/11/2024 12:38

2 stone 1lb lost in 8 weeks.
I'm very happy with this as just not been able to do on normal 'diets'
Another 5 stone 11 to go if aiming for lower weight but over 10% lost do far
I've never Injected I arm - is this better for suppression? This week I've been least suppressed so far and had some naughties!

WeAllHaveWings · 16/11/2024 14:43

My first 0 - does that count as a plateau yet! 😉 It wasn't that unexpected as I am off work last week so I have been eating out a bit and pushing the limits. It was going to be a gain up until yesterday but it dropped overnight so pleased with that! Off next week too so will need to keep myself in check a bit better!

End of week - 21 (5 x 2.5mg, 16 x 3.75mg)
SW - 21st 5lbs BMI 42.8
CW - 17st 4lbs BMI 34.6
Losses - 10,2,2,4,1,3,3,3,1,3,2,2,3,3,2,3,3,2,1,4,0
Total loss - 4st 1lbs (57lbs), 19%
Current Target - 17st by Christmas🎄 (5 weeks, 4lbs to go!)

I have my annual health review for high blood pressure medication with the GP surgery nurse on Tuesday, it will be interesting to see if they have been informed, what their thoughts are on Mounjaro (hope they are positive and encouraging!) and my blood pressure which has now dropped from an average of 109/78 to 98/73 since I bought my BP monitor in August. I am hoping we can start a conversation about potentially coming off my BP meds.

Thanks for your thoughts
I think I need to read some positive articles to help me feel ok again .
I can loose weight in the wrong ways without mj
But not in the right ways no.
It is helping me ,I can't remember the last time I snacked or ate crisps.
I have a coffee ,a sandwich,a small dinner ,and I don't think about food in-between.
It took me a year to build up the courage to start mj .
Thanks for replying,much appreciated

Yes feels very amplified at the moment, but probably wouldn't of noticed if I wasn't on it

Just been looking at the Christmas food shopping (have a delivery slot reserved in advance) and can't fancy anything, it all looks too rich etc. Feels a bit strange I think it will be a bit different this year for me.

Don't even fancy baileys which is a first.

Snozzlemaid · 17/11/2024 10:42

Finally got down into the 13s.
13st 13lbs this morning!!
SW 18st 6lbs.

And NSV yesterday. I have some jeggings that I've been wearing but they are now hanging off my backside so tried on some new ones yesterday, and only managed to fit in size 16! I know they're stretchy but I was wearing size 22 when I started this journey, so I'm delighted.
When I've lost another couple of stone I'm going to get some proper jeans. I've not worn jeans for years as they were always so uncomfortable when so big.
