Well well well I am skipping.
sw 15:12
cw 15:4
gw 11:7 (that’s just to reach overweight category)
if I can reach a healthy weight happy days but if I lose one more pound I will not be morbidly obese.

I have been doing a YouTube workout every day and going on a walk. Feeling fine, a bit cold occasionally but other than that nothing

Come on week 2, jab done 💪🏻

Fuffedoff · 12/11/2024 10:57

Morning,

I've not posted for a while. My weight loss has slowed down quite a bit this month, only 0.8kg so far which is annoying. Oh well a loss is still a loss though.

I'm on 7.5mg now and I seem to be getting the dreaded sulphur burp each week! It's weird because it comes like 3 days after my jab.

I really don't know what to do to combat it. I can feel it coming on this morning.

Although I did order some pepto bismol online.

Last week I tried alka-seltzer and they seemed to stop the next day, whether this was a fluke or not.. It's just the taste of Alka seltzer is disgusting and makes me want to vomit.

I've started taking probiotics, digestive enzymes, peppermint oil if required.

I'm not sure if the peppermint oil is making me more bloated or retaining water weight. Would it even do this?

Anyway hope everyone has a lovely day.

I do need to focus more on fibre. Not least because I am also on quite a lot of cocodamol for arthritic pain, and that is also very much a bowel blocker.

2 kiwi fruit 🥝 a day can work magic.

I am also taking a 2nd medication with constipation as a side effect. But the 2 kiwis a day keeps me regular

SilenceInside · 12/11/2024 13:05

@Timetofindme I had one instance very similar to yours when I was about 3 weeks into my first 5mg pen. It could have been something dodgy that I ate, possibly exacerbated by the slower digestion that Mounjaro causes. I was supposed to move up to 7.5mg but decided to use the 7.5mg to do another 5mg dose rather than move up. In your situation, if you're still feeling unwell you could maybe delay your next injection by a day or two and see how you feel.

I also find that plotting my doses on the GLP-1 plotter ( https://glp1plotter.com/ ) website helps me to understand where the level of Mounjaro is in my system and where it will increase to after the next injection. It's only a guide but it's interesting to see what the difference is between taking different doses at different times.

I’ve got a new non scale goal in mind, filks!

i’ve been wearing the same style of jeans from ASOS this year. Its got no elastic in it, so no squeezing into it. I bought a 24 in Feb - it fitted but was tight - although i did feel they ran small! In September I moved down to a 22, but the waist is now big on me! But where my weight is, lower down, is still ok, although loose. So today, I bought them in a size 20. I can get them on and just zip them, but they are very very tight and theres a lot of muffin top so not wearable. I would love to be wearing these properly by new year!!

My non scale goals are:
To not worry when booking a seat on a plane, in a theatre etc that I need to book an aisle one so I'm not squashing anyone.
To go to Alton Towers and not worry that I won't fit on one of the rides (and not have my boobs squashed to pancakes).
To ride a horse again for the first time in about 20 years.

RobinEllacotStrike · 12/11/2024 15:53

@Midlifecrisisxamillion I too would like to take up horse riding lessons. I wanted to do it when my kids used to take lessons but I was always too fat.
Maybe next spring I will be able to do this - I should be below the max weight limit by then.

Those graphs make it very clear @Orangesandlemons77 !

I suspect the 1/week injection is a patient compliance decision as the half life seems to need more frequent jags for stability.

Having resorted to protein powder yesterday I won't in future - not sure getting extra protein helps if it just passes straight through 🙈
Hopefully it was the sweetener (I usually avoid them entirely) so some unsweetened protein powder is on my shopping list!

I had problems when I first started Huel with that too, but it has settled down with time. I have half then half later which helps a bit.

Yes I felt like those graphs demonstrated how I was feeling during the week as the weekly dose wore off, going to stick at 2.5mg every 3 days for now, (possibly working up to 0.5 every 3 days if needed) as it seems better / more consistent.

Timetofindme · 12/11/2024 17:48

@SilenceInside interesting you had similar! I think it was jab 6 at 5mg, put it in the plotter and doesn't look like a big leap this week so going to cautiously chalk it up to a bug and see how I go. Managed to eat a bit today, probably could have had more but trying to take it steady given I've eaten pretty much nothing for 2 days - no ill effects so far so as long as I'm feeling ok tomorrow ill probably go ahead and jab in the evening.

Timetofindme · 12/11/2024 17:50

@Midlifecrisisxamillion riding again is one of my NSV aims. Have only ridden once since I lost mine, felt wrong for ages and then I put on too much weight to be comfortable and then I put on even more weight. Just miss horses, being around them as well as the riding!

RobinEllacotStrike · 12/11/2024 19:03

Silly NSV - chores are fun now. I enjoy moving so I enjoy doing housework. I've always liked. As clean home but felt resentful about housework for so long.

Plus I feel 19 years younger - in terms of mood, energy levels etc.

Anyone else?

RainbowZebraWarrior · 12/11/2024 20:41

Do you mean 7.5mg every 7 days as opposed to 2.5mg every 3 days? I'm so confused following these threads as people seem to just be doing differnt things.

alltablenochairs · 12/11/2024 22:34

My silly NSV- lose enough weight so I can go back to parasilk hoist slings. They're made of parachute material so a hell of a lot softer than what I have got at the moment which is spacer fabric. Its like a cheese grater effect!

For the poster who posted the GLP-1 graphs, that's certainly something to think about for me. I find by the end of the week the effects have worn off and I am ready to eat just about everything in the house! I'll need to get some more needles first though but that's easily done on Amazon.

Weighed in today. So far I have lost 8.7kg which in itself doesn't seem like much. However I tried lifting this weight in Asda earlier. It was really heavy and definitely gave me something to think about!

My NSV this evening was climbing up into DD's top bunk to give her a cuddle as she fell asleep. I wouldn't have dared even try a few months ago.

@RainbowZebraWarrior if you don't understand the risks you could be taking, I would stick with the dosing schedule and take the dose most suitable for you every 7 days.

Injecting regularly every 3 days is not something most people will do, mainly because there are potentially unknown risks associated with it. No one knows if Injecting regularly every 3 days changes the load and stress on how our livers and kidneys process the medication to clear it from our systems and there are no trials to say this is safe so not many use this potentially higher risk "tweak". If you do consider it, it is one to discuss with your provider first.

TARGET MET!!

i wanted to hit 17st dead on by Nov 17th and today I weigh 16st 13.9!!!

RainbowZebraWarrior · 13/11/2024 08:51

Thanks for that @WeAllHaveWings I wasn't considering it. I was just surprised at how many people seem to be doing their own thing so to speak.

No, the second graph was 5mg every week, and the first 2.5mg every 3 days, sorry

Well done! 17st is my next target too. Just 4lbs to go!

inneedofaglowup · 13/11/2024 09:10

Feeling slightly disheartened but not going to give up. I'm on week 5 (5mg) and the scales have been the same for 5 days in a row literally has not budged I was beginning to think I've gone crazy! Eating in a clear deficit, walking 4/5 miles a day, not eating after 5pm only herbal tea and water and literally not budged. It's crazy. But I know my hard work will pay off just maybe not today or yesterday sadly!

healthybychristmas · 13/11/2024 09:32

@inneedofaglowup I have had nearly 6 months of feeling like this and I've lost three stone! It only has a shift by .1 kg at a time which seems really unusual. I have definitely had two or three weeks at a time would know loss and then it starts to shift again. Just keep thinking it will happen, it will happen!

healthybychristmas · 13/11/2024 09:38

BM202 · 11/11/2024 18:24

Lovely to read everyone’s progress. Mine seems to keep slowing down. Lost just under 1lb again this week which takes me to 12lb in 6 weeks. This is the point I would normally quit and give up, because I’m trying really hard but it’s not working so what’s the bloody point. However I’ve spent £££ so going to keep going and remember it’s not a race. Just a little disheartening to have spent £300ish to lose a stone…I always thought being heavier made it easier to lose weight if you actually stuck to something!

Currently on 5mg and injecting in my thigh, maybe need to try stomach but worried about side effects going up.

Sorry for the negativity on such a usually uplifting thread.

I would always pay £300 to lose a stone! I'm sure if someone had asked you before you started, you would've said you would pay that.
