Rockfordpeach · 28/09/2024 17:08

Hi,
I've taken the plunge and ordered Mounjaro through MedExpress. My prescription was accepted today and as long as it arrives in time I plan to start on Thursday (my birthday is on Wednesday 😂😂). I thought I would start a thread for any new starters if anyone is interested 😊

Day 6 for me and the hunger has definitely returned, I woke up with a rumbling tummy! I took it Sunday so that any side effects were hopefully gone by the time I do my office days Weds-Fri but in hindsight this is going to mean it's probably wearing off by the weekend each week.

Day 6 for me too! Supression has definitely waned today. I’m thinking of taking the next dose today - 24 hours earlier than scheduled.

TheAmazingShrinkingWoman · 12/10/2024 10:26

I totally hear you on the detached feeling.

Another side effect is that I keep going into the kitchen then feeling a bit lost and tidying up instead of eating.

Adelstrop · 12/10/2024 10:28

Yes, just restricting calories. MJ makes it so much easier to do that.

PolaDeVeboise · 12/10/2024 11:26

Thanks all - so glad I'm not going mad!

mjuser · 12/10/2024 12:42

@Doghairismyglitter

That's a bloody fantastic reduction in wine! Well done! Probably part of the reason you're sleeping so well, too.

I'm still smoking half as much as before. Was hoping I could cut down even more but it hasn't happened this week. Still, I'll take it, half is good 😅

Autumnowl · 12/10/2024 12:53

So my third day after the injection, and I'm feeling good ,it's nearly lunchtime and food hasn't even crossed my mind ,I'm not even hungry,I'm drinking lots tho
Also I'm sleeping like a baby ..I can't believe it , usually Im up and weeing every 2hours ,last night ,one wee ,and a fantastic sleep
Someone said they were feeling more positive up thread ,and had get up and go to clean the house ..yes I'm the same ,I feel purposeful and I feel like I've taken antidepressants, when I haven't..
All good so far ..even if I don't loose weight,it's worth it to feel this good and sleep so well

mjuser · 12/10/2024 12:53

Week 2 weigh in for me:

SW: 81.3kg
CW: 76.4kg

So another 1.8kg this week. I know it's going to slow down a lot from now on but that's a decent chunk of belly gone haha. Long way to go though.

Compared to the first week, I have definitely had more appetite, but I jabbed on day 9 because I was struggling to eat so it feels a bit more reasonable now. Due to do jab 3 tomorrow, so going to stick with the 7 day schedule going forward.

Ti2024 · 12/10/2024 14:25

@TheAmazingShrinkingWoman - that made me laugh, I feel the same. Keep walking into the kitchen out of habit and realising I don't need anything from the fridge

Tiree1965 · 12/10/2024 16:04

I'm 24 hours in and I can't quite believe that there is an open tub of Roses and I've not eaten a single one. I haven't even felt tempted. It was lunchtime before I actually thought about food today which is unheard of.

Have you had a HbA1C blood test? Up multiple times in the night to wee unless you have a bladder issue isn't usual, and the fact that it's reduced with Mounjaro which affects your bodies sensitivity to insulin would ping as a possible diabetes symptom to me.

LoungeAct · 12/10/2024 16:20

First weigh in today and I have lost 5.5lbs!
SW 15.3
CW 14.12
GW 10.13

Fizzleaway · 12/10/2024 17:45

Well done on all the loses!

My start weight this morning was

SW: 16st 10lbs 4oz (😔)
GW: 9st 7lbs

Im 5’7.

Day one has been good, Iv felt some slight sickness but it seemed to be when I was in the car. Not hungry but I’m also unsure if it’s because I’m ’in The zone’.

Went shopping today, spent £120 for the week and I still forgot to get Greek yogurt!

Breakfast: Cup of tea, skinny dream bar and half an orange.

lunch: Tracker cereal bar and some blueberries

dinner: Aldi katsu chicken sushi pack

Not hungry at all.

Currently sat with a cup of tea and I will probably have another Tracker bar tonight if I feel hungry. Watching Harry Potter number 5 with the kids in a min as they just had burger and chips for tea.

I don’t have any bladder issues and I get up multiple times in the night to wee too. Sometimes 4-5 times a night, other times it’s 2. Very rare I go a whole night without getting up. I presumed most people got up in the night to go a wee.

I pretty much never get up to wee in the night. Maybe a few times a year at most.

I had some blood tests last year and from memory the diabetes one was ok.

I get B12 injections every 3 months at the GP and I’m always low on iron & Folate. I have pernicious anemia.

Tohaveandtohold · 12/10/2024 17:59

First week done for me. First weigh in today and I’m so happy with my loss of 2.5kg. It’s given me a boost to keep going as I didn’t want to believe I’ll see that much difference just yet because I’ve been doing weight training rather than cardio.
SW: 87.1 kg , BMI 33
CW: 84.6 kg
Goal: 60kg for a healthy BMI. We’ll see.

well done to everyone and good luck to those just starting. we will need a new thread soon

I am sorry to say it I think you have some signifant issues with something and I’d urge you to see a doctor, genuinely. I don’t get up to pee most nights, on the rare occasion I do, it’s once, getting up to pee two to five times is not a good sign. There is multiple things that can cause this, from lack of oestrogen to diabetes, you need to see your gp.

InfoSecInTheCity · 12/10/2024 18:06

@Fizzleaway it was one of the main symptoms for me, I would occasionally get up in the night but when I started having to get up several times I realised something wasn't right.

I was also really tired, but who isn't so that hadnt really twigged as a symptom of anything other than being busy.

By the time I got tested my HbA1C was 11% and they diagnose diabetes at 6.5% so I was straight onto insulin.

If you've noticed a reduction in the night wakings since starting MJ then it suggests that weeing is possibly related to sugar levels.

Midlifecrisisxamillion · 12/10/2024 18:26

Day 3 and I feel so much better today. Headache has gone, energy is back to where is was. I wouldn't say suppression has totally set in but it's early days and I'm managing to stick to around 1200 calories approx. Definitely eating less chocolate and snacks but I'd say that's through will power and not the Mounjaro (yet).

IWantToSeeMyFeetAgain · 12/10/2024 18:50

One week in and I’ve lost 3kg. Most amazing thing for me is that I haven’t had a Diet Coke all week. I said to myself I’d have one on the weekend as a treat and just didn’t fancy it.

Strange side effect (other than constipation) is a non stop runny nose which has led to a sore throat and a gravelly voice. Reading up on it it’s an indication of being dehydrated so I’ll make sure I up my water next week.

Tulip8 · 12/10/2024 18:56

Is it normal to feel so fatigued? I'm about 30 hours post 1st injection and also had my flu and covid jabs this morning. I feel absolutely wiped out, I'm achey and lethargic, complete opposite to all of the energetic days you are all having!

ItsMintUpNorth · 12/10/2024 19:01

Well as the suppression has gradually worn off i have had more of a 'normal' sized portion of food for my tea the last two nights, and TMI but both nights I've been on the loo within 5 mins of finishing. I've eaten slowly both times so that I could feel when I felt full and it didn't come either time but my stomach obviously has been full!

This is definitely how I felt for the first 2 days. I feel a lot better today (day 3).

hopeishere · 12/10/2024 19:02

I'm due to inject tomorrow and definitely feel like I've more appetite today!
